Great place!! I lived in California for a while where Hawaiian BBQ was easy to get. So hearing about this place had me very excited. It is the only one around and that's ok because it just means they will have my business as often as I can get there. So full review....let's start with location: nanuet mall south next to Diamond Jim's. Tons of parking but I suggest parking in the bigger Macy's lot and walking across. It's an easy spot to find. Next atmosphere: decor is light and fun, plenty of space and comfortable. Food: the cuisine is AWESOME!! So far I have been there with people who have tried the white meat chicken, dark meat chicken, the loco moco, the pineapple fried rice, the macaroni, and the noodles. The chicken dishes are classic with sides of pineapple fried rice and macaroni. Use the house sauce or the Hawaiian BBQ sauce or try the other two, which I have not yet. This is of course my favorite. Also throw a fried egg onto your fried rice it makes it all the better!! The noodles are done well, ramen style with Bok Choy and chicken. There is siracha on the counter because who doesn't out siracha in their noodles!! Last but not least and most important I asked for spam Masubi, they didn't have it.....however, they said they will have it soon!!! Tried this place for the first time this week and was extremely satisfied. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The girl at the counter helped us decide what to order and made some suggestions. Great for picky kids or healthy eaters since you can customize what you want. Nice atmosphere and staff who will answer questions. For $6.99 I had a nice chicken dish with bbq sauce and the day's special vegetables were broccoli and fried zucchini sticks. We went in to iGrill a couple nights ago around 8, and there was one other couple there. This didn't deter my interest here. With the start of school, and the late hour (mid-week) I wasn't to shocked. The counter person was very friendly, and explained to us how the menu works. Basically most every dish is customizable, as to containing any protein, sauce, side dish. We had the loko moko (a hawaiian hamburger with a fried egg and gravy), and a noodle bowl, to share. Both were were very good. The noodle bowl had 3 different choices of soup stock to choose from, and on this occassion we had the house version, which was peppery and a tad sweet. Soy and miso are the other choices. The location of iGrill is tough. Many restaurants have failed here, including the exceptional Marigrills a few years ago. It is kind of hidden, set back from the pool hall. Now that there is a regular traffic stream into the site of the old Nanuet Mall, hopefully other people will find this place. I would recommend take-out. But order ahead, because the cook time is a bit long. But worthwhile. 2 Cons here. One is the name. iGrill does not even describe the style of food. I guess they didn't want Hula, or Hawaii or Maui in the name. Other con ... plastic flatware is in one open bowl to take. Not individually wrapped and definitely unhygienic. read more

Not authentic Hawaiian, loco moco... Burger was dry, Rice was sub-par, macaroni salad was terrible and liquidy. Chefs should visit Hawaii and learn how to make rice/mac salad. read more

iGrill is a great place to go if you're looking for something quick and casual. The interior of the restaurant is small and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is Hawaiian and they even have a few vegetarian/vegan options. I highly recommend trying the bubble tea!!! read more

I was able to get my loco moco fix here. Also my bubble tea fix (lychee) which you must know it's a bubble tea slush. However, this wasn't the best loco moco I've ever had as Hawaii makes it better. The meat needed a little seasoning and the pineapple fried rice was really just lightly browned rice with a 2 cubes of pineapple. I'm exaggerating about the pineapple but it could have used more. The best part was the gravy as it did remind of Hawaii. The place was very nice and clean and I would suggest people come back and try other items. read more

food is amazing and definitly wholesome. drink options are good as well. you can feel the island vibe when you walk in. it's really chill. only thing that turned me off was one time i ordered the chicken with pineapple fried rice, there was no pineapple. i brought it to his attention and he took it from me and looked at it, said there was pineapple in it. i went back to my seat and dug through the rice and wow! there was no pineapple. it really ticked me off that he was so sure of it and not even sorry. he did say he would add some "more" but i was just trying to eat and leave. it was busy that day so i didn't want to wait any longer. read more

Nothing too fancy but Loco moco (which is a beef patty) with egg and fried pineapple rice and corn with brown gravy was tasty. It is true that there isn't much pineapple in the pineapple fried rice. There was plenty of gravy so it was quite moist. The portion was large but plenty if you are very hungry. The girl working at the cash register was really nice and friendly. She told me that the Loco moco and salmon are the most popular. It takes about 5 minutes to get your food. They give you a punch card so you can get a free meal after 10 purchases. read more

I ate here a few weeks ago with my girlfriend. It was the first time we had Hawaiian food and we both loved it. The pineapple rice was delicious and well worth the try. I had the loco moco which is pretty much a hamburger with egg and gravy on top. I'm not sure whats in the chop meat but it was very good. My girlfriend got the chicken which was also delicious. At first I was excited to here that there was a Hawaiian place in Rockland County, but after trying it..well I was not impressed. The atmosphere of the place was cool with the different lights and outdoor seating but the service wasn't that great--it took forever for them to take my food order and when i got it... the chicken was extremely dry and there was nothing special about the sauce--it was almost like they dipped the grilled chicken into store bought bbq sauce. They are honestly an upgrade from chinese food and theyre so fresh and flavorful. I always hit this joint and the staff is so outgoing. I always come back! I go with my boyfriend and he's very picky. So this placed is by far out favorite joint in Rockland right now. I order the dark meat chicken, pineapple fried rice, corn, with macaroni salad. Great, small place to have lunch! I love it when the wait staff can recommend you their best foods without hesitating because it means they know what they're talking about. Food is very homey and rice was not dry at all. The salmon was cooked perfectly and their House Sauce was not overly sweet and did not overpower the salmon. I do wish they wpuld put more pineapple into the pineapple fried rice though. But I'm definitely coming back here again to try their other menu items. read more

Like others have posted, strip mall location = convenient but makes for an uninspiring exterior. Inside is bright, clean and modern looking with plastic-y tables and chairs. During lunch service, you place your order at the register and they call it out when ready (which does take a bit longer by New York standards). I can only comment on the Loco Moco, which was VERY good. Not sure why people complain about lack of pineapple in the fried rice side dish -- mine had plenty to be an accent flavor, which is all it's supposed to be. (Granted, I also think bagel places give you WAY too much cream cheese). This is not "fancy" food, but boy, is it good. I will be going back to try some of their other dishes. One big negative for me: they don't properly vent their grill so the smell gets in your clothes, hair, etc. Maybe that's why they call it "i Grill," because you walk out smelling like you just did. read more
