Yum! I am so happy they opened up a location in Alameda! I usually head to the one in oakland chinatown but that one has 0 parking, no snacks, and is cash only. I am happy to say this i-Tea location has plenty of parking, snack options and they take card! If you are around during the fresh mango seasonal drinks, they are a must try. I've tried a bunch of different flavors off the menu so far. I had the honey brown rice this past time with agar boba and chia seeds. It was very flavorful and had a nice nutty flavor to the milk tea. I have not reviewed the food yet, but it looks good. The only thing is the food is much more expensive then your average boba snack joint, upwards of $6-8. I hope they are good, I'll update when I have a chance to try. read more

I have spent literally hundreds of dollars here (I keep track of every expense). After mistakenly making my drink with boba, and my kind request to remake the drink, the manager rudely refused. My friend knew that the manager would yell at the cashier if I continued to ask for a new drink. The cashier has always been very nice and I didn't want her to be unfairly attacked because of management's pathetic policies that are anti-consumer (most tea & coffee establishments will remake your drink with no questions asked, unlike this i-Tea). It amazes me how foolish management must be to sacrifice a customer who has and would have likely continued to bring in hundreds of dollars more had they done the right thing and had policies to protect customers. Instead, they have forever lost my business. EDIT: Looking at the plethora of other reviews that speak to the negative customer service experiences by customers, I am clearly not alone. Stay away! i always get M2 or panda milk tea, my cousin had one of their new drinks, which was chrysanthemum rock sugar (sugar adjustment WASNT available only for ice) she said it was a little sweet for her but she still liked it. i always order their takoyaki when i come here, i like their popcorn chicken but it isn't my favorite. teaway has always been my favorite place to get popcorn chicken but sadly they're shut down now ): anyways, i'm not saying don't get it here cus my friend loves their chicken but it's just to me personally - it's ok. i'm not sure if they changed the type of chicken they cook but, it was dry in my opinion & my cousin ate a piece and thought so too. i might've had one little piece that wasn't too dry. the amount they give you is decent. some are bigger, some are smaller. i believe the price is around almost $6, the takoyaki never fails me! i understand some people are not a fan of the paper cups/straws, it is better for the environment, it's just the law for alameda county. maybe start carrying your own boba straws, that's what i do. so i'm hoping these new cups are 100% recyclable or is made of 100% recycled items. they gave me a plastic straw today but i didn't use it, i used my own metal straw at home. they also charge 10 cents for bags FYI read more

I would go to this i-Tea alot, especially when I was pregnant. This place was my pregnancy craving. No joke. It's my favorite boba place. I pretty much love all the East Bay locations. The great thing about the Alameda store is that they have popcorn chicken. It's that addictive kind too, especially when you add that red pepper powder. But for me the best thing about all of them is that they do a great Krema series. I often do Wintermelon Tea (it supposedly has less caffeine) with Krema, Aiyu Jelly and Aloe Jelly. My number two drink is the Kiwi Fruit Tea with kiwi fruit pieces and aloe jelly. read more

Solely based on manager/supervisor: This use to be my favorite boba spot in town specially since it's walking distance from home. But the manager needs to take some customer services classes. I like to try different drinks from time to time and I did not know that the mango sago did not qualify for the stamp card. So I asked the cashier and he politely said no, this lady without even making eye contact with me like a real adult just abruptly screamed "we've been opened for 3 years and it never was." Well sorry lady since I usually buy 5 drinks at a time and sometimes we try different flavors I cannot keep track of what is and what is not. Plus it was a simple question that was already taken care of by my nice cashier. There was no need for her to step in, specially in that manner. I LOVE this place. There is this one female cashier who is always so cheery and welcoming. It was just today where I thought customer service could be a bit better. I was standing there to wait for my drink when I noticed that a fellow customer spilled their drink. They notified a worker who was working on the drinks about the spill. The cashier at the time was willing to replace the drink for no charge, but the worker working in the drinks area was like "I HAVE TO CLEAN THE FLOORS, PK". She was complaining about her job. The customer who spilled the drink could have just left the place and not tell the workers to clean it up. They were just being responsible people but the girl worker was just complaining and not being cooperative at all. ACCIDENTS HAPPEN. I think if that one girl who was complaining, spilled a drink herself she wouldn't want the workers to be talking behind her back too. read more

I've been here twice now. Once during grand opening weekend and the second time was yesterday. The fact that they advertised "$2.50 for all drinks on menu" was what convinced me to go, even though I knew it would be a madhouse. It didn't that long to get the cashier but was disappointed to find out that not "ALL" drinks on menu were $2.50. Apparently they weren't even offering their frosty series at all, only tea drinks. At the cashier I noticed they had a special menu specifically for their $2.50 items. That's a little deceptive. Maybe they should've advertised "$2.50 for all drinks on special menu". Also, this menu wasn't available for viewing until you're already at the cashier so you're forced to quickly think of an alternative while a whole line leading out the door is standing behind you. There's only one cashier station. When I went last night, I see their sign saying mango has arrived for their summer drinks. I wanted to order a mango frosty and mango sago but was told that their mangos are out of season and no longer offer mango drinks. What?! Apparently "mango came"...and left super quick because I went for their grand opening on 7/31, about a week ago! Why would you even advertise it if you've maybe had it available for a week. And if mangos are "not in season anymore" then why are they on sale at Lucky's at 2 for $1?! I'm tempted to buy a 50 cent mango and give to them so I can get my frosty or sago! It took about 15 minutes to receive my three drinks even though I was able to walk right up to the cashier to order. I guess they get backed up pretty fast. Both times I've been here, the two different cashiers were really helpful and patient. That, along with the parking lot is why this place gets 2 stars. Another star is earned because the jasmine milk tea I've gotten both times are good. The minus two stars is because what you see (advertised) is not necessarily what you'll get. Came here on Thursday afternoon. Is not that busy. The girl taking my order is really nice and polite. I ordered three milk tea, one miso ramen, one popcorn chicken Togo. When my order is ready another girl was putting my stuff in the bag. OMG! Who packs stuff on one side of the bag instead of in the middle!!.i repacked my stuff, she just standing there and didn't even try to help.- one star. The drinks are great! I would say 4 to 5 stars depending what you get. Milk tea wasn't overly sweet. The boba wasn't hard. But the egg pudding didn't taste like anything. Like plain jello is what is was. But I would say stick with the drinks. The food is closer to a 3 star. The egg puffs were powdery, I assuming it's the flour? And it was already broken to the little puff circles. I guess it's easier to eat, but I find it fun to pick at it and break it apart. And the popcorn chicken was dry. The lady taking my order was so unbearably rude that I have to give them one star. I ordered the taro frosty first and I asked for boba and she said "you said no toppings" in an extremely rude tone. Admittedly I was tired, but even if I said no toppings, that doesn't give her the right to respond like that. I worked in fast food for years and people change their orders every day. Then I ordered an egg puff matcha flavor and changed it to chocolate and she shot me a nasty look. Finally when she called out my order she gave me another rude look as if I should have run to her. Taste different every time and today I just found out they cheat you of on the size too. I usually order B5 and every one of them they have the bigger size of cup for this drink and when I order this drink today in alameda they use the regular size cup for the same drink. I'll start with what I like about the place. The space is really roomy! There's about two tables that get in the way of things, but other than that, the atmosphere is pleasant. They also have board games!!! My friends and I spent about 3 hours playing board games there! LOL. Also, the service is nice. The manager misunderstood my order during Grand Opening and I got the wrong drink, but she was happy to fix it for me just like that even with the business of the place! However, the reason why I am not giving this place a 4/5 is because the two drinks I've tried so far weren't so good. I normally get Mango Sago, but it's unavailable atm. So, I've tried their Hokkaido Milk Tea and their Japanese Matcha Red Bean frosty. The frosty was 3/5 and the milk tea was a 2/5. For the frosty, there was a lot of ice. I was just munching on bits of ice, but the flavor profile was decent. For the milk tea, I asked for 80% sugar instead of the standard 100% and it tasted like I asked for 0% sugar. Bland and bitter... The only sweet part was the egg pudding and boba. I know this place is new, so I can't judge it too much. But, I'll wait and see about the taste of their Mango Sago. If it doesn't taste nearly as bomb as the Oakland iTea, I'd probably stick with the China town location. read more

We pretty much live at i-Tea, well, not really, but. my kid would love it if we did. This seems to be the best boba tea in Alameda, based on the long lines every time we are there, but honestly, we haven't tried any of the others because we just love this one. Our favorites are passion-fruit green tea with boba, mango crystal and watermelon crystal, and the Oreo cookie milk tea. But there is so much more to try yet! If anything can be enhanced by popping boba, my son will add it to that drink. We also enjoy the fried calamari - slightly spicy, and the popcorn chicken, and the egg waffles, which taste like fluffy fortune cookie dough. read more

I mean, the one in Oakland isn't that far away (in fact, it might actually be closer to my parents' house than this one, but whatever), but what's nice is after a meal or movie near Park Street, I can walk over to this i-Tea. If I could rate this location lower I would. I understand that we are living in a different world due to Covid-19 but you guys need to be mindful of customers that proactively call in orders. I walked all the way to the front door and saw a sign that said " ALL ORDERS WAIT IN ONE LINE" so I patiently waited in line to retrieve my order. I then come to the front of the line and a lady cuts me because she says a pick order. So as it is my turn I ask if phone orders wait in the same line I was directed to a small yellow posted that says phone orders to the right of the door. Imagine how many people have done the same as I because we cannot see that post it written in small handwriting?! The. She says there is a bigger sign outside but that one is blocked by the door so you can't even see it. Very disappointed in this location. This is my favorite boba spot. Parking is ok, but compact spots are ridiculous. If you're gonna eat I recon the popcorn chicken it's really delicious. Left me on hold from Oakland to Alameda and when I got there the phone was still on hold. That is about 15 minutes. Worst customer service ever.
