Who hires the employees here??? No matter what day or time we go, even with 5 minutes left to closing, every single employee is welcoming, kind, patient, respectful, and just great. Ordered door dash delivery so only reviewing the actual food and drink items. Chose this spot because it was one of the few options available for boba after 8pm. Giving 2 stars because I ordered a plain croffle and it was tasty - good texture and perfectly dusted with powdered sugar but I won't lie - I opened this box and thought that someone must've eaten 75% of my croffle because what I received looks like a quarter of the whole thing. Definitely smaller than what I was expecting. Also got a jasmine milk tea with almond milk and house boba. Both the boba and almond milk were up charges which is pretty normal. The tea was very small however - there was more boba than tea; kind of disappointed to have paid the almond milk up charge for barely any tea or almond milk. The large is similar to what's considered a normal size at some stores, but factoring this in, price was average / on par with what many boba shops charge nowadays. The 30% sweet still tasted like at least 70%, it was way sweeter than I expected. Overall, I wish the tea flavor itself was more full-bodied and strong. We ordered an Oreo swirl, a tiger boba, two coconut matcha, and another two drinks. Not sure how you can make coconut matcha wrong. Either I didn't know matcha comes in purple and taste like taro..Or maybe the person preparing the drinks decided to make coconut ube. Boba Me is located in downtown Alameda. This is a pretty busy area, especially on weeknights and weekends, so parking may be a bit hit or miss. The service is horrible here after they rebranded or took over Ding Tea, it is pretty much non-existent. There were too many issues with my past 2 experiences, I hope the management will do something about these ongoing issues and retrain their staff on customer service and professionalism. As I mentioned, my last 2 visits were very problematic, just horrible. My second to last visit, I had trouble finding parking, so I called and ordered ahead, the employee asked for my eta and I told him less than 10 minutes, which he said it would be ready before then. I came in about 10 minutes and saw a long line inside waiting to order and was thinking it was good I ordered ahead. I did not want to cut the line, since I did not pay yet, so I still waited in that long line of people who needs to order, but at least my drink would be waiting for me after I pay (so I thought). The customers in front of me took awhile to order and when I was finally next, the employee did not acknowledge me and she walked away to start making drinks. After a while, she came back and I told her about my phone order and she rang me up, I thought she would go get my drink afterwards, so I stood to the side. I did not hear anything from her and saw her going back to making drinks, so I decided to be a bit more patient and after seeing countless of people get their drinks. This was getting ridiculous, so I decided to ask her. She asked the employee who took the phone order and he acting like he did not know she was talking about and continue making the orders he had been working on with no care in the world (it has probably been half an hour if not longer since he had taken my order on the phone). She apologized on his behalf as the other employee took no accountability for his mistake, started looking for my order / drink, realized no one had made it and made it quickly for me. I get mistakes happen, so I decided to give them another shot. I came back not too long after, as I was intrigued by their croffles. I decided to get my usual - their Jasmine Milk Tea along with a croffle. I was contemplating between their Lotus and Strawberry Croffles. I opted for their Lotus one. I patiently waited for my order and finally received it after awhile, I opened the box to check the croffle and I noticed that it has all these sauces on it with chocolate sauce on it as well which I am not a fan of - definitely did not look the photo at all. When I mentioned it to the employees, they did not really have an explanation or any apologies or even a simple offer to remake it. Their milk tea is definitely not as sweet compared to Tomo, at Tomo it's still sweet even at 0% sweetness just to put in perspective. 70% sweetness overdid it for myself, probably standard sweetness would have been fine. Anyway, I chose the simple classic flavors - signature black milk tea and jasmine tea with grass jelly. I really like the jasmine tea with grass jelly. It tastes like good old quickly which just brings me back to the 99 cent drink days. Anyway, I never had the chance to try Ding Tea, so unsure if they are just picking up from where they left off and using the old milk powder and tea packets. My friend got the taro milk tea 70% sweet 30% ice. She said it was powdery and had a diluted taro taste. She's not usually a taro fan, but wanted to try it out and it didn't work out for her. My bf got got the taro smash creme brulee 70% sweet 30% ice. He said the jasmine milk tea overpowered the taro. He didn't know it was Jasmine tea when he ordered it. He wasn't a Jasmine fan, so he didn't really like his drink. They are new and getting their footing in, so it's understandable that their drinks might not be consistent. We've been here a few times. It was decent. This time I got the taro crush creme brulee milk tea with boba, 50% sweet and 30% ice. It was not bad, but it was mostly milk tea and the taro paste portion was lacking. Just wish they put more in and it would've been much better. The creme brulee was just some cream on top with a thin film of torched sugar. But it was covered by the plastic seal and not really accessible. Wish they used a different cover, like maybe one that you could sip in addition to using the straw. Boba itself was decent, could've been more flavorful. Overall, I still enjoyed it enough but might try a different drink next time. It has 2 claw machines inside, is pretty large of a space, and has a good number of tables. There wasn't much wait. Not my absolute favorite boba place but if I'm in the area again I wouldn't mind stopping by for a boba fix. read more

Ding used to be my weekly Friday spot and after going to Boba Me twice to get my regular Taro Milk Tea, the flavor is just not there as it was with Ding Tea. Also, despite ordering ahead, I had to wait for 10-15 minutes after it said it'd be ready, only to be disappointed by the quality. With at least 20 other Boba places on Park Street, I'll be looking elsewhere for my regular Boba place. read more
