Where else can you find a bubble tea drink for $5 or under nowadays? You can order on the kiosk and expect your order to be out quite quickly. I've tried the fried calamari before and thought it was decent. I'd like to come back and try the Taiwanese food. I was a little hesitant because the sweetness could only be ordered as "standard", but it was actually perfect! Not too sweet, and not bland at all. I was also happy that I could order soy milk to be included, as I can't have too much dairy. This drink was good until the last drop - I even made sure to eat every single pearl lol! I will always have a sense of nostalgia with T4. I've been going to multiple locations for years. Although I know there are better options out there (better tea, homemade boba. fresh fruit, etc)...T4 just tastes like home and that's what keeps bringing me back. It may not be eveyone's cup of tea (ha!) but I love it. Our go to is usually the panda milk tea or jasmine milk tea. Nothing super fancy, nothing crazy, just pretty basic. I love that they give you an option for 0% sweetness. This particular location is right in Chinatown. Parking can be complicated at times but usually, you'll find something within a block or so. Similar to the other locations, this location had its signature white and blue interior decorations. It was decent, it was still sweet enough for my liking even with the reduced sweetness level and has adequate amount of rose flavor. They have since raised their prices, however. I wouldn't necessarily say T4 stands out as having the fanciest boba - there are other places nearby that have more unique flavors or a more complex flavor - and one of the things I liked best about this specific T4 location in Oakland was that their prices were low compared to both other boba shops in general and other T4 locations, so I am disappointed that the prices have gone up. read more

I have been going to T4 for a while now. It's the only place that has the only thing I drink, Red Bean Milkshake (any variation of a red bean milk). Especially because the red beans are blended, how I like them, instead of the whole beans where I'd have to chew them. And love that I can just add 50 cents to size up. I even converted my husband to love it now and he fights me for it. Food is great too! We love getting the Basil Popcorn Chicken or the Fried Tofu. I've also tried the Fried Gyoza which is good. For main dish, I love their Noodles Mixed w/Scallion Oil & Soy Sauce...simple but tasty. When I feel like ramen, I love getting the Pork Ramen in Black Garlic Oil Broth (non-spicy). My husband sometimes get the Chicken Steak Ramen which has huge portion of chicken. Overall, food and drinks are excellent and prices are way cheaper than usual places. They also have a rewards system (Snackpass) where you buy 10 drinks and get $5 off your 11th drink. You can order from the Snackpass app or call (if calling in, make sure they add the drink rewards to your account when you pickup your food). The place is clean and there's always a good collection of Chinese songs playing. A bit small so during lunch or after school/work, it might get packed. I recently visited this local boba place, and I'd describe my experience as a mixed bag. I've come here a couple of times before and each time I've found the boba flavors to be quite indistinguishable from one another. From a taste perspective, it is quite hit-and-miss--some days I've had good boba and on others, I have been left a little disappointed. It's not that the boba is bad, but it falls short of being great. That said, I believe they could do a better job at delivering a more flavorful and distinguished boba experience. The place itself is warm and inviting enough to make a late-night run for some boba. It's not extraordinary, but it does have that cozy atmosphere I enjoy when I'm out for a casual drink. The ambiance manages to make those relishing sips of boba just a tad more enjoyable. The service was passable but there's room for improvement there. Despite everything, I'll probably be back at some point, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit. I was surprised since there was 4 workers and only 1 making drinks. Workers were being mean to the newbie by having him make the drinks while complaining about how hard it is to teach people to make boba. I didn't like how they were out in the open saying these things when people were waiting for their orders and felt the hostility. I got a taro smoothie with boba. It was alright. It wasn't too sweet but there was a good amount of boba juice that made the drink taste a little weird. Inside was clean and brightly lit. Food: I ordered the popcorn chicken, fried tofu, fried calamari and red bean milk tea. My go-to drink is the red bean milk tea. The tea is fragrant and the red beans have a slight sweetness to it. Their popcorn chicken is my all-time favorite. I prefer theirs over anywhere else. They are crispy, tender and taste amazing. The fried tofu is also very delicious. It's light and crispy with the perfect amount of salt and pepper. The fried calamari has a fun chewy texture with the right amount of crisp. Although I am disappointed that they had given a lot less calamari this time. The box was only half filled. Overall, I recommend coming here for drinks and snacks. Most of their drinks are in the $3-$4 range. I was told the prices on the menu is for their small size but if you want the large size it is $0.50 more. This was one of their recommended drinks on their menu and it tasted really good. I just like how the drink was full liquid. I feel like with other boba places they don't grind it fully so there is still matcha bits in your drink which I don't like.
