No one was in the front but there's a sign they're so smart. They said if no one is here that means we're in the back busy making your food so we could just order on the computer. We got a large strawberry bingsoo. It was perfect for me. A four-year-old and a two-year-old refreshing after a fun time at the park. There were enough chairs for a lot of people but at the time we went there it wasn't busy about 830 at night.
We love Mandro for a tasty bingsu dessert. Mango is our go-to. On a cold Dec bight, nobody in the place. You order at a kiosk, which I hate, take a seat and wait about 5-10 mins. Pickup at the counter. 2 or 3 of us usally split one regular. The shaved ice is so fluffy and smooth. Mango fresh and delish. Add the condensed milk and you have a great dessert. Really not much service, but the peeps are nice.
The Bingsoo's are so creamy and the strawberries were super fresh and sweet! I added condensed milk for an extra 0.50 cents and it combines perfectly! The chocolate isn't too strong in taste but it's light and fluffy. There's a lot of seating so it's great.The service is quick since there's a self service kiosk.
Came after 9pm on a Saturday. The area wasn't too busy at that time so we found street parking easily. We ordered on the tablet and our drinks came out about 10 minutes later. I ordered the Mandro Milk Tea with boba and 30% sweetness. Overall, the drink was okay. The boba was a little hard. My drink tasted almost as sweet as my friend's drink that had a higher sweetness level than mine. I liked the tea flavor though. I'm not sure which tea they used but it was good.
We came here after lunch next door at a Thai restaurant and decided to split a matcha red bean bingsoo. You order through the kiosk and the order comes out fairly quickly. We were unable to finish the order after lunch so luckily they had to go container we could use for the leftovers. It was delicious! Would come back.
It's a little hard to find parking around this location but I was lucky to find something a few steps outside. To order, you can use the self kiosk. I only waited about 15 minutes for three items. I ordered a drink and two shaved ice to go. The serving size is generous! I couldn't even finish one by myself, which is rare. I also ordered the avocado milk. The ingredients are simple but so tasty. There were a lot of avocado bits! Plenty of seating inside. Seems a little dirty, like a sticky texture to everything. I'd come back though!
We got the large mango bingsoo which comes with a cup of condensed milk. The mangos are very sweet and the bingsoo ice is very fluffy. The ice portion isn't as flavorful, so definitely save some condensed milk for the inside. It would be great if they had mango pieces or something sweet in the middle because the proportion of the ice was too much. Upon entering, you can order from the large screen and they will call your order when it's ready for pick up. There are indoor seating options, which is nice. People seem to stick around to play games.
I had no idea they have a MandRo Teahouse in Alameda but I'm glad it does. I normally go to the ones in Fremont and Milpitas so I know that people come here for Bingsoo (Korean shaved ice). Although it's using Korean name but I'm fairly certain the owner is actually Chinese. The shaved ice here is extremely fine and as a result super smooth and delicious. I prefer this over the coarse Hawaiian shaved ice. My favorite is the matcha or original flavor but a lot of people seem to order the mango one. This location seems to be much less crowded than the other places and has more seating as well. However parking can be a pain because of limited street parking and its location. You order through the kiosk and just wait for the number to be called.

We came on a Saturday evening and it seemed like there was only one person working and that person only came out to bring out an order. You place your order on the kiosk. If you have any questions regarding the menu, there is really no one to ask. We came here specifically for bingsu. I usually get the mango, but it was not on the menu. I am assuming it is not in season. The bingsu ice was soft and fluffy as expected.

When you walk in they have seating and a kiosk where you order, not sure if they take cash since I didnt really see any register behind their counter or anyone working the counter, only workers making your order. It is a bit quiet in there cause there was no music but the vibes were still very casual. Bingsoo was great! Creamy and light and the shaved ice was just perfect to compared to others ive tried where its just too watery. The different flavors portions are portioned good and mixed throughout the ice so its just not on top (for those who never had it before) . They give 1 free side of milk but any extra is $1+ which is a bit on the pricier side.
I'm a fan of their cat and duck arts along the wall. This place is low-key and cute. I usually just come here for milk tea; I still haven't tried any of their dessert options. My go to right now is heir Okinawa pudding milk tea no sugar no ice. It's already pretty sweet as is. Nothing negative about the staff. I ordered through the kiosks.
As a former Aggie, Mandro brings back a lot of memories. I used to go to Mandro with my friends all the time in Davis, and I'm glad to see one closer to the Bay! Mandro has the best bingsu and I especially love the mango one since they put a lot of fresh mango on top. This location is a bit small, and while it wasn't too busy, the service was a little slow.
Green tea shaved ice is so good! Next time I will get fruit type because it's fresh fruit I do wish they put more flavor in between the layers of ice but good dessert.

Cute spot for bingsoo in Alameda! I got a strawberry bingsoo, and really enjoyed it. They have a lot of different flavors including mango, matcha red bean, injeolmi, original red bean milk, and chocolate. I also saw that they offered Taiwanese desserts such as all these taro ball bowls and tofu pudding. I'll have to try those sometime here. read more
MandRo's Mango Bingsoo is my favorite for its light and fluffy texture. Also, the mangos are paired with snowflake ice which reminds me of Hawaiian shaved ice. It's a really popular spot for dessert especially for Asian Americans. The ambiance is very calming and the air always smells so fresh and feels cool inside the dessert shop most likely to preserve the iced menu options. I love how efficient ordering from their menu is. I rarely grab dessert outside of homemade goodies and ice cream but I'd definitely return for the quality and flavor. Thank you Abby and MandRo Teahouse! read more

I tried the Mango Bingsoo. The snowy shaved ice was very fun to eat. The mangos were ripe and sweet. However, this dessert didn't have much taste. I expected the condensed milk to be thicker and sweeter. That would have made it taste much better. If you decide to get this flavor, you'll definitely need to get more condensed milk. read more
Overview: Honestly the BEST dessert place in Alameda ---- Firstly, I LOVE BINGSOO. I'm so happy that we finally have a bingsoo place in Alameda without having to drive outside of our little island. Located on Park Street, MandRo Teahouse is where the old Bambu used to be, and in my opinion, is the perfect replacement for them. Parking can be a bit tough so a lot of people park in the CVS parking lot (or street parking) and just walk over. I've been here multiple times and each time I leave happy and satisfied. The portions are large even for their regular sized bingsoo. Prices depends on what flavor you order, from the cheapest to the most expensive for their regular sized binsoo are: - Injeolmi, Chocolate, and Matcha Red Bean $12.75 - Mango and Strawberry $13.95 Upgrading to the large size is just $3 more (it will be a literal mountain of bingsoo, regular is a lot for sharing but if you really love bingsoo, go for it!). I recommend ordering a side of extra condensed milk for $0.50 each. You order at a kiosk and when your order is ready they send out a text and call your number out. Their service is pretty quick when they aren't busy, I recomend NOT coming when Alameda High is at lunch or right when they get out because that's when they can get a bit busy. There are quite a few tables but they can fill up fast with students coming in at lunch. It's perfect for an after-dinner treat or on the weekends! I haven't tried these yet, but they also have drinks like boba, sago, milk and fruit teas, and other asian desserts like taro balls and tofu pudding. ---- I've tried the Matcha Red Bean and the Mango Bingsoos and I think the mango one is perfect. Matcha Red Bean 3/5: - Topped with mochi, red bean, and chopped almonds - Matcha powder sprinkled on top - I don't really like matcha flavor so this one wasn't for me - It wasn't sweet enough without the extra condensed milk Mango 5/5: - Many slices of ripe mango on top AND layered in the middle of the bingsoo - Already comes with condensed milk, but I like to add extra ---- Overall: Perfect dessert spot for any occassion, there's always room for bingsoo! read more
Mandro opened in the long vacated Bambu Dessert space. New minimal decor of white & blue walls with assembled plaques with esoteric themes. A few tables inside. Limited menu of bingsoo, taro balls, lattes. Milk teas...counter register not functional. Kiosk has default 10% tip added plus other undisclosed fees. Single associate on duty. Drink came in 10 min. Sips: mango matcha latte (5.25) 30% ice/sugar. -looked totally green, no hint of mango, milk. -not overly sweet. No matcha/mango taste. -tasted ok. Strawberry version a better option. 3 stars. Sterile ambiance, ambiguous decor. Not a cool place to hang out. Bingsoo a better choice.... read more
After an underwhelming dinner. Mandro knocked it out of the park. I had never had bingsoo and it is so amazing. There were kinda busy, and it took 15/20 minutes for the order to come out. But it was totally worth the wait. The texture of the snow is so fluffy. The fruit was fresh and sweet. The add ons were great. Condensed milk, almonds and strawberry sauce. The boba sucked. I wouldn't do the milk tea here. If I am ever near this place after lunch or dinner I would almost always swing by. That's a great dessert. read more
The bingsu (cold water - meaning ice, more like freshly fallen snow) is what we come here for - really the "Mango Bingsu" with an extra container of milked down condensed milk, comes with one but we need an extra. The ice is very, very fluffy. Mango was sweet and in season when we went. Ordering can get slow at the kiosk as you have to panel thru various screens. Interior is bright and clean. Minimal service as you order at the kiosk, they call your number, you pick it up at the counter, and return the bowls to the counter. They'll come out to wipe down the tables occasionally. read more
I used to go MandRo all the time when I lived in Davis years ago, so I was ecstatic to find out that one opened in Alameda! I had my regular order, the mango sago, and it was just as good as it was when I was in college. MandRo is very consistent in making their drinks, I can always count on them for high quality boba. Ordering was very easy, as it's done through a kiosk. The drinks were ready very quickly. I will be back to try the bingsoo. read more
Ever since my visits in Korea, I fell for their Bingsoo. Esp in the summer. Thirst quenching and delicious with various amazing toppings. Walked by Mandro, saw Bingsoo. I have to give a try. Got Taro dessert 5, with chew mochi squares, sweet red beans, stretchy grass jelly and taro sauce. It was quite satisfying dessert. The portion is big, enough for 2 at least. Interior is barebones, not a trendy cool place. Young people might not like to hangout here. But they surely will love their offerings. read more
We wanted something cool after our lunch at Troy Greek Restaurant. The restaurant has modern asian vibe, many young HS students when we went. There were a group of young people at a table chatting so we walked up to the self service kiosk and placed our order and paid online. Our order number was called within 10 minutes. Our order was called by one of the people in the group at the other table. I didn't know he worked there. We had the Mango Bingsoo, the shaved ice was powder and very light. *REVIEW FOR TOFU PUDDING ONLY* We ordered tofu pudding and I'm not sure what they used here. It's not the consistency of tofu-fa. The pudding is normally made with silken tofu, rock + brown sugar, water, and ginger. I'm not sure what happened hate. It's "goopy" and not silky. Ugh. What a waste of $10. Do not order. We ordered this in addition to mango bingsoo. Service was ok. Bingsoo came out fast but the tofu pudding took longer. And the boba were tough. read more
My friend and I came 30 mins before closing after having dinner close by. First you walk in and there is only a kiosk there. I was lost at first, but my friend just followed the people ahead of us. There is no one to ask any questions, because I wanted to know if there is any lactose free milk option I could choose from. I just took a gamble, since no one was around. The service was quick and cashless. You just select your option, and pay with a credit card at the kiosk. When I got home the drink tasted water down with little to no flavor. And the boba was super hard. I always love to support local business, but I need real person interaction and for my drinks to be worth it. read more

Typical bingsoo spot with all the fixings. Most popular items are the mango and strawberry. I'm docking points for cleanliness and lack of service. The curtains are dirty, tables are left unbussed, and there's hardly any air conditioning inside. It's a fairly cold day, but with the amount of people in the establishment, the hot and humid air just hits you. Also, if you're not used to ordering on a kiosk you're SOL. There's no one attending the front let alone bussing. It seems that they save on funds by not hiring enough staff. read more

The pros - size of the regular binsoo is generous and they layer the flavor so you're not eating plain shaved ice once you get through the surface (at least they did this for the matcha one). Seating was also plentiful and space was clean which was surprising considering I never saw a staff person come to buss/wipe down the tables. The cons - There's only one self-service kiosk and there was no staff in the reception or menu to look through so be prepared to wait a while to order if there's people in front of you. There's also no menu posted to help you decide what you want in advance nor are the descriptions in the kiosk very helpful. Utensils are also flimsy plastic which just feels cheap when eating. Also got a mango sago that was good but not great. We probably won't go out of our way to come back again. read more

Portion was big, recommend to share! Their bingsu base here (snow/ shaved ice) didn't have any flavor (I'm used to ones that do) so the sweetness of the strawberry helps. Overall for bingsu, I've had better. Taro milk tea on the other hand, I don't recommend. All I taste was milk -awkward face- Touch screen to order, tidy spot if you want a quick fix. read more

Strawberry bingso is sooooo delicious this place is so underrated it's top tier dessert heaven 10/10 super fire great place for sharing. The small is enough for two people and the large would be great for a group setting. For context it's Korean shaved ice topped with your choice of fruits or toppings! read more
