I was there on a warm Sunday, just to try their acai bowls. There's four acai bowls on the menu board, so I asked the gentleman behind the counter....."which is the best acai bowl?" With confidence, he said...."the Oasis Bowl." He likes the Oasis Bowl because it features seasonal fruit. That means the recipe and taste experience can change with the seasons. When I was there, the seasonal fruit was pineapple. This place makes a good acai bowl. For $13.00, it's not overflowing with fruit toppings. Instead, it's packed with fresh fruit, crispy granola, chia seeds, honey and coconut flakes on top of a acai base. It's definitely a meal, not a fruit bowl snack. The interior is very clean. It has a small outdoor patio. According to signage, there's no indoor seating. Main Squeeze is located near the Park Street Downtown. Can you believe I've never had an acai bowl!!?? Was in Alameda with my son & he suggested getting one. I was hesitant because an acai bowl didn't sound like anything more than a bowl of fruit. The açaí bowl here is amazing. The açaí isn't too sweet so the fruits shine through. I really like the alpha bowl- the crunch of the granola is great. Second time coming here. It's so nice to grab a bowl and sit out in the patio under the sun. Pretty fast service too. I took my time to read the menu to order a juice and smoothie. I wanted to ensure I chose ingredients that would not affect my allergies. However, the gentleman who made my smoothie added almond milk --despite almond milk not being one of the ingredients in the smoothie! Thank God I was observing him make my drink otherwise I would've never caught it and would've gotten sick. I enjoyed my açaí bowl relatively much, but I thought the quality and size of the did not 100% suit the price. They only have one bowl that can be made without the hefty dose of caffeine packed in guarana, which they state they cannot omit from the recipe (even though they blended the base in front of me, so I was confused as to why they couldn't just modify the base recipe for their other bowls) so if you do not want all that caffeine, you are limited to their Alpha Bowl which just has granola, banana, strawberry and apple. I wanted the bowl that boasted "seasonal fruit" but was told they couldn't do it without guarana. They use conventional fruit, not organic, and everything was quite bland. For $13 at the size they are serving, I think the fruit should be organic and ripe. I might return if I really want an açaí bowl simply because they are conveniently located, but it's unlikely. read more

The prices are quite a bit less than their competitor, Vitality bowls. I ordered the Beleza bowl, which was only $8. It was actually ready in about one minute. Yes, it was that fast. Inside, it is pretty spartan and simple. It has a hard floor and a broad counter, where you can sit and look at the people walking by. There's also a pretty patio area with a few tables and planters. I didn't see the nutrition information for any of the food items, so that would be one suggestion. I bet other customers would really like to know the calorie count in these scrumptious meals. They also have a cooler with some snacks, sandwiches and salads that you can take to go.
