Again! Messed up breakfast meal. The toast was burnt. The waitress was so busy that I had to get up and request a coffee refill, like normal. Also the waitress never came by to check to see how the meal was. My husband broke his dentures (a tooth came out) from the burnt toast. The waitress apologized and charged us full price. I asked to speak with the manager. I guess the manager was to busy to stop by the table. My husband is a senior and a Korean vet. IS THIS HOW THE SENIORS AND MILITARY ARE TREATED HERE. WOW! I was excited to see a diner moving into Spring because it meant another breakfast place besides the IHOP and Denny's. I went in hoping for a traditional diner experience and I wasn't disappointed. I-45 Diner is just your classic diner-style restaurant. The inside is very clean and uncluttered. I was met right away and asked where I'd like to be seated. Overall, the service was very attentive and friendly and the manager came by 3 separate times to make sure I was still enjoying my meal. He managed to do it without feeling oppressive, so count me as impressed. The food was good enough that I have zero complaints. It's your classic diner offerings like pancakes, eggs, various meats, hash browns, etc... I got the chicken fried steak combo and enjoyed it. The breading was crispy and stuck to the steak, and the eggs were cooked a perfect over-medium (something most places can't seem to get right). The pancakes were fluffy, and the hash browns were crispy without being burned. All in all, it was a great breakfast and I was in-and-out in less than an hour despite the fact it was Saturday morning. I'd be hard pressed to do that at one of the big chains in the area. I've been going here for about a year now because it's next door to my apartment in the last 6 months service has become HORRIBLE and they are very PREJUDICE toward BLACK people!!! Even when you walk in it's full of White People they just stare at you like they have never seen a Black person before very unwelcoming!! So I returned my food because it was not fully cooked when I asked for my MONEY back they had to call the OWNER at home for a 15.00 refund and the manager didn't have a clue what to do lol.. So I tried them again today and yes the same thing a Chicken Crisp Salad that had all brown wilted lettuce so I called before returning and spoke with the short Hispanic lady with glasses who works the front register, as soon as I walked in the door she was handing me my money back and I said oh no I just want my salad made freshly she stated we were told by the OWNER NOT TO SERVE YOU ANYMORE! I HAVE to give this place 5 STARS!!! Yesterday I ordered food around 7:40pm. Didn't realize the place was closing at 8:00pm due to covid-19 and started to leave my house around 7:55. I-45 Diner called me back to let me know my food is ready for pick up and that they'll be closing at 8:00pm. They told me they'll wait for me till I get here. Going out their way even after hours is top notch customer service. Trust me, it's some restaurants out here that will shut down 20 minutes before closing. This used to be one of my favorite after church choices, but the service has declined proportionately with its increase in popularity. Today, I stood in the doorway for nearly 10 minutes waiting for one of several empty tables to be cleaned. After watching two groups come in after me get someone to clean tables for them, I took matters into my own hands and cleared it myself. One waiter walked past me 4 times without even acknowledging my presence. Even after I carried a stack of dishes all the way into the kitchen, the manager has not been seen...not even for an apology. I would have given fewer stars but the food here is decent. The migas are a good break from the standard bacon and eggs. I also like that you can get half fries and half onion rings with sandwiches. Tender and juicy on the inside , crunchy on the outside and I get the gravy on the side. The eggs- perfectly scramble. Oh and I got a barbacoa taco served only on Saturdays and Sundays. This was a surprisingly satisfying experience. We've driven past this little diner daily for about 5 years and finally decided to go in for Saturday breakfast. I ordered the machacado breakfast, my husband ordered the veggie omelette. Mine was very very good: meat, eggs, jalapeños, cheese onions tomatoes -- yum! topped with avocado with a side of beans. My husband's was great (we always at least taste the others food): cheese, spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions plus huge! with a side of fruit. But the sure was the salsa. Salsa is usually just salsa. And, I never like green salsa, but I really really enjoyed the spicy green salsa -- yummy yummy! Another plus is that drinks are served in glasses, not plastic (this is a personal pet peeve of mine) and they were clean. Clean is the first important part of the dining experience to me. Clean silverware, clean tables, clean chairs, clean glasses, clean floors-- all checked out (I didn't go to the restrooms so I can't comment there). The final plus was the wonderful waiter who smiled the entire time he served us. He was outstanding, patient, helpful and friendly. I wish I could remember his name. But my memory isn't that great. But we're gonna go there again because it was so comfy and good. And it was everything a diner should be for our East Saturday morning breakfast. read more

Came here because I saw it had 4 stars. Why does this place have 4 stars? First, I ordered a coffee and water. Asked the waitress what she recommended for the breakfast here and she tells me "uhhhh a burger?" As a question...a burger? It's breakfast, you just brought me a coffee. So then I just make my own meal up. Way over priced for what they serve. The bacon was undercooked, the hash browns were under cooked, the sausage was over cooked, apparently eggs over medium means to hard boil the egg. I will say that the waffle was okay. Coffee tasted like water with a dash of coffee grinds and the water smelled like pool water. Normally I would have something good to say but I definitely would not recommend coming here. I'm actually leaving here and going to another restaurant to get another meal after I pay for this meal just to get full. I hate spending money on crappy food. read more

We visit here often since our previous state did not have any Cracker Barrel. The staff are friendly. Service is terrible. We have been here 5 times and each time our meal is either wrong, or not complete. Every time wE order breakfast, by the time we are near done with our dish, our sides will arrive (grits, syrup for pancakes, side order bacon, side order ham, gravy for biscuits, etc). Tldr: Upcharge. A matter of principle. Vote with your wallet. I changed my review after speaking with the OWNER about a price not explicitly displayed on the menu. He then explained the arbitrary price. Unapologetic about the confusion. No sorry's given. So, my experience involves an EXTRA charge, and management's inability to point to a price on the menu matching said EXTRA charge. The wait staff gave us our ticket, and when asked for clarification, the staff returned saying that this is the "upcharge"--their words--for one of their sides. After asking for their manager, they tell me it's the OWNER of the establishment making the call. When requested, I wasted no time and asked him to point to the price and I'll gladly pay it. He stared at the menu and fudged two values together, explaining it is a side plus the upcharge. Best of all, the two values didn't add up. We communicated our displeasure, concluding that the menu is either purposely deceitful, poorly put together, or simply outdated. A case study in customer service: when customer feedback is met with apathy. Apathy from the owner no less. This is an American restaurant competing in Spring. The food look and tastes good, because to be honest, their liberal use of ingredients amount to a great presentation and great flavor. My wife and I came here about two weeks ago wanting two things; for her, a good breakfast and for myself, a good burger. She ordered a pretty basic platter of pancakes, eggs, bacon and I think hashbrowns.I ordered a blue cheese burger rare with fries. After 20 minutes I should have known something was up. After all, there was only about 5 other tables in occupancy and half had food on their table already. We received our food at the 33 minute mark. I cut into my burger and it was well done almost to a crisp. I let the server know the next time she came by to check on things. She apologized and said it shouldn't take long to replace it. (I remind you I did order rare) My wife did not enjoy enjoy the pancakes. They were dry and over cooked but with whipped cream became edible. Honestly I think we had just been quite hungry or they wouldn't have been that good. The rest of the plate was fine. Nothing to write home about. 21 minutes later I receive the plate again and I cut into it. It is well done once more, which with a 20 minute wait I pretty much expected. I just said thank you and the server smiled and walked away to help others. I did not eat the burger and our server had it removed from the bill without us even asking. I guess she noticed it hadn't been touched at all. The server is the sole reason for this rating being as high as it is. I visited this place about a year ago and my husband and I really enjoyed the food and services. Unfortunately a year later my experience was the total opposite. Last week my mom and her coworker visited while the HS game was being played across the street. The service was subpar. It took more than 10 minutes to be greeted. Once we finally got service it took even longer to receive our food. The food was just sitting in the counter and once they finally brought us our food...it was cold. We left and went to Burger King instead. Today we tried it again and we weren't even greeted or given menus after sitting for 15 minutes. We ordered our drinks first along with a glass of water and then she went to another table that was near finishing up. As I see her coming back to what I thought was our table with waters and drinks on her tray. She walked right passed us and served them. I was puzzled to how did she remember to take a larger refill than a new patrons drink order. So I stopped her and asked her what happened to our water and drinks.
