Didn't have a good experience at all! I took my kids. My oldest wasn't pleased with the tasteless beans so she switched her meal. My french toast was burnt around the edges, but I didn't complain. I got my ticket & was still charged for the plate we sent back. The rude, unprofessional "manager" told me she couldn't take it off, it was their policy BUT had it NOWHERE posted up. Made no sense! Then told me she will take it off but we can never go back there lol that was never my plan to go back! The service & food was terrible! I ride past there often & it's never busy. Now I know why! Not greeted when you enter, hostess/waitress doesn't seem like she wants to be there, and I somehow felt rushed when ordering (they close in 45 minutes) Ordering food to go but still tipped because I've worked in the restaurant industry before. Once food is received I'll post a pic and update review of the food quality Update: 13 minutes later still no food but the cooks are chatting amongst themselves. 30 minutes to closing while guests are still eating, a waitress comes from the back with a mop bucket and proceeds to mop. The food was ok. but It is what it is, it's definitely DINER style food. CLASSIC DINER FOOD! We stopped here for lunch on our way to the TGR Exotic Wildlife Park. The menu was extensive and the food delicious. We each had a specialty burger cooked to perfection with super fresh garnishes. My sister had the crinkle fries/onion rings combination and I had the home fries as a side dish. Both sides transported us back to childhood, when going out to eat was a special treat. Fast and friendly service added to this memorable experience. read more

My husband & I stopped in for a quick breakfast on our way down to the NASA museum this morning. We were delighted to find this locally owned diner. The menu options were fairly standard nothing too exciting jumped out at me. I had a fit/ light shrimp & avocado omelet. Boy they were not stingy with the shrimp! For a fit omelet, it was a Texas-sized portion and very VERY filling. My husband had a waffle w/ the usual bacon, egg, hash brown. I love diners. I happened to see a sign about the diner, on the way to another food location. I pulled up the menu online and decided the cost of the food was very reasonable for the amounts offered. When I got in, I found some people were very welcoming and some not so much. I choose to engage the nicer waiter. I ordered a #3 to go, but I meant to order a #2. No big deal. I live 5 minutes away from the diner. When I got home 10 minutes later, and tasted the food, I wasn't impressed at all. Everything was bland. I came to this diner and wanted to order an omelette. All the omelettes come with peppers and onions. I don't eat peppers and onions. Because I didn't notice it on the menu the waitress told me it was on me and that I would have to pay for it even if I didn't eat it. I then asked for the manager. The manager came and said that she would be willing to take it off because I'm so nice, but if i want another one I would be charged. I drive by this place every day on my way to work or school, so eventually I knew I was going to have to go in and give them a try. There isn't really a whole lot to write about when it comes to I-45 Diner, it's one of those places that doesn't really try to do anything new, it just does what it's supposed to do correctly. The service is speedy, the wait staff is friendly, sweet, and attentive, the manager (that's who I assume he is) comes around and makes sure you have a great experience during your meal. The place is clean, the decor is simple and neat, and it's quiet, it's a good place to come sit down and have a meal with friends and family. I've been here twice and while I'm the type of person who likes to try everything, I have a thing for breakfast so I kind of lean towards it when I visit diners like this. I do have to say, I love a cook who knows how to make a proper Over-Medium Egg. The yolk isn't too loose or too firm, it's just right, perfect with hashbrowns. Their pancakes are nice and fluffy, and their hashbrowns are crispy (although I would prefer them a little crisper, but that's just personal preference). The food comes out hot and fast and everything tastes great. Last time I went my sister had an omelet and it was GIGANTIC. It was stuffed full of meat, cheese, veggies, and they put their hashbrowns inside the omelet, I definitely know what I'm getting next time. I tried to take a picture of it, because it was gorgeous, but she started destroying it as soon as it hit the table. Next time maybe! I can honestly say that I don't have any real complaints with this place. It's simple diner food for a good price, every neighborhood needs one of these places. I've gone there around 4 times and the food is really great. The only thing is I am not 100% on how sanitary the place is... Last time I went I sat facing the kitchen and was not thrilled on what I was seeing... A lot of NO-gloves going on. I even saw one of them pick up a raw chicken with no gloves *cringe* and wipe his hands on his apron!!! The terrible thing is that I still ate my food and it was super yummy!!! Don't know if I will return just because of what I saw... But if thats not a priority for you I definitely recommend... Just don't sit facing the cooks!!!! :-P read more

I was excited to see a diner moving into Spring because it meant another breakfast place besides the IHOP and Denny's. I went in hoping for a traditional diner experience and I wasn't disappointed. I-45 Diner is just your classic diner-style restaurant. The inside is very clean and uncluttered. I was met right away and asked where I'd like to be seated. Overall, the service was very attentive and friendly and the manager came by 3 separate times to make sure I was still enjoying my meal. He managed to do it without feeling oppressive, so count me as impressed. The food was good enough that I have zero complaints. It's your classic diner offerings like pancakes, eggs, various meats, hash browns, etc... I got the chicken fried steak combo and enjoyed it. The breading was crispy and stuck to the steak, and the eggs were cooked a perfect over-medium (something most places can't seem to get right). The pancakes were fluffy, and the hash browns were crispy without being burned. All in all, it was a great breakfast and I was in-and-out in less than an hour despite the fact it was Saturday morning. I'd be hard pressed to do that at one of the big chains in the area. So this place is pretty cute. I would say try it if you're in the area! Pros: huge portions for the price. The wait staff was friendly to the customers for sure. Coffee was super fresh. The syrup is served warm! The bacon is amazing Cons: the pancakes were super dry. They took every drop of moisture out of my mouth. It tasted delicious but holy hell it was so damn dry. The sausage was obviously the prepackaged type. My eggs were undercooked, although my lovely waitress asked if I wanted them cooked longer. When you walk in you seat yourself, but no one tell you that, so you can stand the and look fool. Long story short, everything was pretty good not amazing but pretty good. You can judge for yourself.
