Salsa tasted like someone googled salsa and blended a bunch of random ingredients, disgusting flavor was tomato heavy, no distinction- pace salsa from the chip aisle has way more inspiration than this spot. As I walked in the door for breakfast, before anyone had a chance to greet me, I already feel unwelcome. A silver haired man sits in a booth watching TV (without sound) with his back to the door. There was no one else in the restaurant. It was dead silent and part of me felt like I just walked into a horror film. No music, no cooks through the window looking into the kitchen, dusty discolored ceiling tiles and an odd amount of Donald Trump MAGA paraphernalia literally everywhere. (By the way, I am a republican and still felt weird) This was my experience the first two seconds as I walked in the door. I should have listened to my gut, turned around and walked right back out. I quickly ordered the western scramble and a water. I patiently waited in silence as a cook appeared to the window into the kitchen periodically making awkward eye contact. Clearly, my food was being microwaved as I heard the buttons being pressed. I received my meal and I sat there eating into one of the worst meals I've ever had while staring into a Donald Trump life-size cardboard cut out. It was just weird! For a moment, I thought I could be in a dream then again more like a nightmare. The food was absolutely terrible. Somehow the eggs were greasy, which seems impossible. The breakfast potatoes which were supposed to be "hashbrowns" were Room temperature and mush. Then when I went to pay, the man told me "I don't think she brought the register yet". I have to agree with the previous review. This place is gone down in food quality since the last time I was there. I get the egg up charge due to the egg costs, but the food had no taste. The biscuits were dry. The eggs had no seasoning and the grits were bland. I did add some salt and butter to the grits and it made it a little bit better and the only thing good on my plate from the Country Breakfast was the sausage. Now let's talk about the restaurant itself. It is filthy dirty. I don't think they even care about what it looks like. The ceiling tiles were dirty. It looked like there were bugs in the lights and the bathrooms were disgustingly dirty. The staff was nice, but I think we talked to you about everybody that worked there at the time. However, when I went to pay, they informed me that they do not accept American Express so I had to pay with my Debit Card. Frustrating. While waiting for the bill, I looked around. This diner / restaurant is located in the heart of Klein. It's been around for a while. I tried this place in the past, but did not care much for it at the time. Recently, I brought my child here for dinner since Yelpers mentioned that they serve macaroni and cheese. (My son love mac and cheese) When I came in, I sat down and placed my order. As I waited for my food, I could tell that the place was full of regulars since the staff knew most of the customers by name. After a little bit of a wait, our food came out. It was fresh, hot, and oh by the way bacon. Then bacon bacon bacon decided to bacon and bacon bacon. In case can't tell, I LOVED the bacon. So did my son. All of the food was really good. I would definitely come back. My only suggestion for a better experience is speed. If the orders came out just a little quicker I would dine here multiple times a week.
