Grilled Chicken Dinner With green beans and Mac n Cheese

We visited I 45 diner last weekend after spending a majority of the day at hurricane Harbor not far from this location.. we decided to give this place a shot since the place we normally go was closed on Sundays. We were literally the only people there.. we were greeted right away and the diner was actually super cute like a 70s diner.. our food came out super quick. Plus .... IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!! Literally everything that we tried was so good. Just look at the picture of my food.. I got the grilled chicken dinner with green beans and macaroni and cheese. I was really surprised whenever it got to the table. Chicken was perfectly cooked green beans as well.. a lot of places have a hard time keeping those green beans looking green.. just saying these were exceptional!!! I didn't get a picture of everybody else's food.. but everyone said their food was great. Really the only complaint was the shakes could have been a little thicker. Next time, we'll just ask for that. Definitely worth a try.. we will be back!

This place is a little hidden gem. It has a diner feel. You walk in and seat yourself. It's not the best-looking place, but it is clean. The food is pretty tasty. It's comparable to Denny's. This is the only place that can get my eggs right. When I say soft scramble, I usually get overcooked brown eggs lol, but this place has gotten my eggs right the two times I have gone. The dish portions are very healthy. We will keep this place in our breakfast rotation. We also plan on trying the lunch and dinner items.

The old classic still makes my favorite.. food was great, service top notch and ambiance is all locals heavy. A good menu with many options.. breakfast served all day!! Yup!! Worth a visit for that small restaurant feel ..

Eggs benedict, unfortunately the poached eggs were of hard boiled consistency, I would just make sure to ask for runny poached.

Our first time here on a Sunday morning. we got right in without any wait time . Good looking menu a lot of choices, everything from Machado to eggs Benedict to a garden wrap. Several different Options for omelets, waffles, and pancakes. Looks really good. I'm not gonna lie, the prices seem kinda high, $15 for an omelet. $16 for chicken fried steak and eggs. They do have corned beef hash and eggs, which I love to see on a menu. . several different types of burgers which all look appetizing. But again, seems on the high side $16. For a double cheeseburger. I guess that's almost norm. love the different sandwich choices everything for a pot roast melts down to a grilled chicken breast with Chipotle sauce called the Cadillac. they have fajitas;, steak, chicken and sausage, not a normal option in fajitas as far as I know, but might be good. The fish tacos look really good. 3 of them for $14. The dinner entrees, again little on the high side. But maybe they're portions are really big. We'll see. pot roast dinner is $17. pineapple grilled fish, 15 meatloaf 15. . half a pound of steak tips 16.99. all the dinners come with 2 sides and a piece of garlic bread. However, if you upgrade to a baked potato, be careful. Doing that it's an additional $4.70. don't do it. not worth it. IMHO. they also have wings, cheese sticks, cauliflower wings. Fried shrimp basket, and 5 different salads, $14.29. Again, a really good looking menu. We order the eggs benedict, Machado and a breakfast sandwich, so I'll update after we get our food, with pictures. It has a nice diner vibe, booths, tabled and a big eat at counter area. Coffee is strong. Oh, one thing I want to note, first page, not very noticeable is the mention that parties of 5 or more, auto gratuity of 20% is added. Im not a fan of that anywhere , but especially not for a party of 5 plus. I understand the reason, I've done my fair share of serving and auto gratuity would have been nice a few times, especially a bold 20%. I also didn't notice a host stand, and nobody greeted us when we came in. We just basically sat ourselves, unsure if that was the intent. So we got our food, never know which to start with, the good or the bad. My husband got the sausage sandwich, and picked off quite a bit of hard edged cheese, like it had been sitting out for hours. I've been on the other side of the line in kitchens, it probably had been sitting out since open. He also didn't like the sausage. I'll try it and add my thoughts. My son got the eggs Benedict which looked good on the plate, but unfortunately the poached eggs were way overcooked, the consistency of a hard boiled egg. If our server had come by at any point, we would have asked for a fresh remake, with proper oozy poached eggs, but the 3bite rule doesn't seem to be a thing here. The 3bite rule, check on your table within the first 3 bites to make sure everything tastes as it should. Also, it would have been nice to b e offered a refill of the coffee, th as t never happened. The half order of French toast was good, and served with plenty of soft whipped butter, so high marks for that. My Machado was fantastic, and I'm the critic of the group. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend. I had to ask for salsa, I got both the red and the green, green is the way to go. The red is kinda like Pace. Anyway, the Machado was delicious, Maybe a few too many sliced jalapeños but still delicious. The manager or owner walked by several times helping the servers run food and bus tables, but never stopped to ask how we were doing or what we thought, that's a shame. I'm big on table touches and this guy missed the mark. Before I forget, I did try the sausage from the sandwich, I liked it. I think he was just turned off by the very hard old cheese.

Looked at reviews thought I would give them a try hours posted on website said they opemed at 7am well arrived at 710 and door was locked. Sat around saw someone open doors at 715. Place was completely empty. There is no sign on there door with posted hours. Only saw 2 employees actually in the place working. 1 cook 1 waiteress. Asked for lots of ice in my drink,was not alot of ice! Got about 9 tables and 12 booths.5 counters chairs. Food came fairly quickly. Ordered french toast eggs with sausage link and bacon. Strip of bacon waa not crispy,maybe i should have requested crispy. Got only 1 small thing of sryup ! Didnt see the male cook wearing any type of hair net. Waiteress never stopped by to check on refills or if i needed anything,like a refill and more sryup!! Food isnt anything special. Only time she came to my table was when saw i was done. Not likely to return. I will stick with Dennys or Ihop Only 1 other person came in. So theres the real deal They are right across from Spring High school.

Just 2 days after giving them a 5 star review... I normally come here with my starbucks drink. Yes, there's a sign that says "no outside food or drink," but all I ever bring is my coffee--and I never leave it behind. I always take it back to my car when I'm done eating. Well today i came in with my drink as usual and they said I have to leave it in the car because they're under a new management. I always prefer to support local businesses but it's not my fault yall dont have the drink i want. I totally understand the no outside food policy, but drinks too? Come on. I love the food here, but that's one quick way to lose a loyal customer. Lemme tell you something, dont you everrrr come between a girl and her starbucks. I left and went to Denny's down the street instead. Bye

Yes, this is your classic diner with friendly service and some good cooking. You're welcomed in with a friendly "sit anywhere you like." As soon as your seated someone is there to get you started on drinks. Once our orders were placed, it seemed like the food was out in front of us piping hot. Everything was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. Whoever was in that kitchen was doing a great job on the day I was there. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are large. Definitely highly recommended if you're looking for a good hot meal.

If you love a good old American breakfast, then this is the place for you. Service is fast and friendly and the food is great. Even with a full house, we were checked on several times. I had a ham and cheese omelet and my husband had his standard BLT w/fries. The omelet was cooked to order (soft) and the waitress even inquired if it was done to my satisfaction. The BLT had lots of bacon and the fries were crisp as they should be. All in all, a great experience. read more

I ordered the cheese burger...wasn't too impressed it lacks seasoning big time..the patty had no flavor. My gf got the chicken fried steak which was great but for some reason every time we come here they always bring her pancakes that come with the order out basically when we are done eating. Kinda annoying since this happens every time we come here. Serves was also slow and they only had about 8 tables with ppl. read more

My wife and I went in to enjoy an all you can eat Carfish dinner together. I ordered 2 specials and received 1, we ate that we ask for another plate of fish and received 4 pieces.Everyone else were leaving with more than they could carry.During my meal I had a glass of tea and I drank it quick , I sat there while the waitress socialized with her friends and at one point she was sitting at there table ,20 minutes went by still no refill on my tea so I started waving my glass in the air one waitress just stared at me and did nothing, another 15 minutes went by the waitress finally showed up to refill the glass . This is the worst service I have ever had in this restaurant, not to mention how bad the Flies were. read more

I have been a few times before for breakfast and it is usually a hit or miss. Last two times it was good. The last time the wife had eggs, bacon, and toast and I had the Chicken Fried Steak. Hers was very good. My Chicken Fried Steak looked great and seasoned good but it was really really tough. I do appreciate that they do make it from scratch and not from frozen but I wish they would use a better quality of steak. I do not like the places that use a 50 cent frozen Chicken Fried Steak and charge $10.00. I don't think any breakfast place that sells them should serve a frozen one. The service was good even when we got there and it was crowded. I have been before where the service was bad but that has changed. (The waitress didn't even know what was on the menu or what goes with what. "Waiter rule number one before you get on the floor"). We will be going back read more

First time here and the food was delicious and the service was phenomenal! The bacon was perfection. I ordered the chorizo with eggs which was good but nothing out of the world, i did enjoy the tortillas! My husband got a breakfast platter and he really liked it, except the pancake got cold pretty fast. I will definitely be back. read more

This is one of Spring, TX little gems. Whether if it's lunch, breakfast or dinner. This place has it. My fiancé usually gets breakfast in the morning while I dive right into a burger with fries. Quick service. Not as fancy as other gigs but it's reasonably priced. I usually have high expectations when trying off the wall places and even though this didn't meet my expectations at first, I've found myself going back more than 5 times. Great place! read more

First time here and the environment was friendly and welcoming. You choose where you would like to sit..that was nice. The server was very friendly. I ordered the machacado with refried beans and tortillas. It was decent but not the best I've ever had. The beans were cold and runny and the salsa tasted like it was just out of the jar. It was a very bland dish. The coffee was great not bitter at all and that is a plus! My friend had a meatlovers scramble which isn't in the menu but they will do this on request another plus. Overall the food experience was ok but the atmosphere and service were great. I don't have to go back but if I'm in a jam it's a decent pick. read more

I decided to try the I-45 Diner after seeing a sign on the road and it's the best decision I've made all day. My food was great! On the recommendation of my waitress I ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake Pancakes. They were light and fluffy not too sweet. My husband had the the Meat Lovers Omelet, it was cheesy and full of big chunks of meat. My son ordered Chicken and Waffles, the seasoning of the chicken was perfect! The waffles were also crisp. My only regret is not remembering my server's name. She was great! She was attentive and engaging. I will be back. read more

This little diner was hard to find based on the directions but it's tucked in the corner of the strip shops past Sonic. I had a great chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was like I was eating at my moms house. Great service to boot! read more

I had French toast combo deluxe. It was excellent. I could taste a hint of garlic seasoning in the hash browns. Wife had half order of French toast. Son had the breakfast combo #2 pancakes were great We will definitely return, and most definitely on a Friday for all you can eat fish fry Friday read more

The food here is really good. Huge variety on the menu. Each day to have a different special. I'm not a huge meatloaf fan but my neighbor said that the meatloaf was really good so I tried it. Large portion of meatloaf. The fresh green beans are cooked with fried bacon. And hash browns a real good. The meatloaf was terrific. In fact the three times I've been here, that's the only thing I've ordered. The service is good in the tables and dining area are clean. They serve milkshakes here but I keep forgetting to get one. I've come here several times. Great diner breakfast at great prices. The food and service are consistent. I enjoy their coffee it isn't bitter or too strong. They give plenty of cream. I usually get the biscuits and gravy breakfast. Gravy is creamy with good amount of pepper. The biscuits are soft on the inside. Their bacon is delicious with perfect crispiness. The eggs are cooked hard, so specify if you light them lighter. Also, you can request cheese on the eggs. I like their hash browns cooked on the flat top so you get the crispy outside, reminds me of waffle house. read more

Huge omelettes that two can share! They have a variety of fillings that would satisfy the meat eater orr the veggie lover. The waffles are light and fluffY and I like mine with bananas and pecans on top. On the downside, I had a bowl of grits that tasted like the type that you mix with hot water and microwave. I've tried items such as burgers and pot roast and was very disappointed with the quality. So I stick with breakfast items. Hands down one of the best diners around. Dont be fooled by the size or location of this small diner. The food is excellent and so is the customer service. They make you feel like a valued customer here. I haven't been disappointed by the food yet either. The breakfast is always tasty and the burgers are big and juicy. They really give you big portions for the price you pay also. Prices are reasonable and service is fast. I highly recommend this little diner. read more

I just came here for the 4th time in the last couple of months. The employees here are just as friendly as they were the first time I came her. We have had the same waitress every time and she always makes sure all her customers are taken care of. Even the ones being waited on by other waitstaff. Everyone is very nice here. The prices are about the same as you'd find at a Denny's or IHOP but the food is much better. My kids don't like breakfast much so the order salads while I eat breakfast. I usually always order the French toast combo. It comes with 4 French toast, 2 eggs, 2 bacon and hash browns. For about $9 it's not bad. They have a pretty big selection so you won't have any trouble finding something you like. read more

My delivery fee was $0.00 last night! So my food journey with I-45 Diner started when I had a rambunctious craving chicken and waffles, but none of the restaurant options in my delivery area offered chicken and waffles as a menu item - so I made it up off of I-45 Diner's menu. I ordered the Waffle Combo Deluxe (with sunny side up eggs), 4 Combo, and Kraft Macaroni & Chicken Tenders which also came with fries. Lets just say - I received enough food for an army! I am currently kicking myself for not taking photos of my syrup drenched sunny side up eggs, chicken tenders and waffle! It was super delicious! read more

This place was okay! I got the French toast and my Mom got the pancakes. We both liked our food and the breakfast potatoes with bell pepper and cheddar cheese was great! My complaints are that they are a little slow and I DON'T like that they don't wear hair nets in the kitchen. No hair was found but that is not sanitary at all! read more

I've been to this place multiple times... (I once went back to back for breakfast). My sister introduced us to this place after we lost our apartment due to the flood, and she said she knew we needed a good "pick me up". The place has been packed pretty much every time I go, so it can be hard to find a table, as it's a "find your own seat" kind of place. So I'd say the only negative, and the reason why I didn't give this place 5 stars, is that the bussers don't clean up the tables fast enough, and the waiters sometimes take awhile to get to you. Once the food arrives though, oh my goodness, it's delicious! We all ate off of each others plates to try a bit of this and that, and it's extremely rare for me to share my food. I've pretty much ordered the exact same thing every time I go, chicken fried chicken breakfast with white gravy, 2 eggs, French toast (reminds me of my mom's, so good!), and home potatoes. It is all seriously so good, and it's never wavered in the quality or quantity. My husband has had the waffles, burgers, and omelets; he loved all of them. Writing up about it now makes me hungry for it, and I'll probably try to go this weekend. I'd recommend trying to not go during the busiest times, like brunch, unless you're okay with waiting a few minutes. All in all: Eat here. read more

Today was my very first visit. I was greeted as soon as I entered restaurant. I was told to sit wherever I like. The waitress introduced herself and made me feel very welcome after telling her that it was my first time at the restaurant. The food was delicious and they kept my coffee mug filled. I will definitely be back to try other things on menu. Great place!!!! read more

This is one of the best places I've ever been. Everything I've ever ordered here has been good. It's hard to not get anything but the breakfast steak tips & eggs that are always cooked to perfection... I like to bring a friend and talk them into ordering something else so I get to try it. The portions are always perfect if your a person who like to eat. I also suggest the BLT if you want something on the lighter side, but still like to eat. Even the fries are good here. No matter what time of day you go, the fries taste like they just changed out the fryers oil. I'm not sure how they do it, I'm just glad they do. read more

It's cleaner, nicer, and feels more welcoming as soon as you walk in. The atmosphere alone makes it a much more enjoyable place to eat. The service was also a big improvement. Mr. Picky has a sweet tooth and wanted to order just pancakes, but I bullied him into ordering one of their FIT omelettes (shrimp and avocado) and then they very kindly substituted two pancakes for the side of fruit. I was eyeballing the Reuben on the menu and when I asked the waitress to name her favorites, that was one of them and so I went ahead and ordered it with fried zucchini and onion rings. The latter two fried things we both liked, the Reuben was just average, but the omelette was loaded with mushrooms and onions which helped make it taste good (the kitchen did a good job on that omelette to put lots of stuff on it and send it to the table looking substantial and tasty). As they close at 3 PM, they don't have desserts at this particular location, and so we shared the Strawberry cheesecake pancakes to finish the meal. Overall, this is not a "4.7" level restaurant but that was on only 12 reviews. I might stop in again if I was running down Kuykendahl and needed a quick bite, but the good news was the price. We got all that food for $39.20 plus tip, a really great deal, and our waitress was great!

The staff is not the quickest but they are friendly. Spanish may go further with most and they're not the quickest when it comes to greeting folks or cleaning tables. The bun was a little burnt. And I couldn't taste any of the mixed in jalapeños. Also I kinda wish they had whole lettuce rather than chopped just because it kept falling out of the burger. But other than these issues the burger was pretty tasty. Definitely not a McDonald's burger like one person posted. But also not the best burger ever as many other posters swear by. Definitely glad I went. But don't know if I'd be willing to spend another $20 on one of their Burgers either. They're closed on Sundays according to Google maps which is old school nice to see.

Our food came out cold and mirrored i-hops menu and presentation. wouldn't be surprised if this place is like the whole hardy s/ carl's jr thing. other than my food being cold it was not right. I had given specific instructions to the waitress and wow nothing like i asked. the manager never came by to offer if he could bring me what I wanted to take it off my ticket. I decided to eat it. Unfortunately my expectations are too high about this place, food with nice presentation but no flavors, coffee are weak and bitter we order a orange juice and was sour ;service was ok, place feels clean.
