Really enjoyed my stay here for a convention. Stayed about five days. The rooms were clean, spacious and enjoyable. House keeping was prompt and the gift shop is so nice! I got myself some necklaces and sunglasses which were sold to me for way cheaper than their tags listed. Also their breakfast and lunch place inside (einteins) was so nice and I went every day, I didn't have to leave at all to eat. My wife and I stayed here on a Saturday because it was close to Chase Field where we were seeing a concert. The hotel was slammed with concert goers so it was a process to get our car to the valet and get checked in. It was even longer getting our car back the next day but it wasn't tragic or anything like that. The room was a bit small as was the bathroom. It was clean however. The beds had sheets that were a bit too crispy for our tastes. The sheets could have been softer and the pillows were small. It's an older hotel but it was fine for our purposes. read more

So typical of Hyatt these days. Just checked in and have been here less than an hour. Missing an ice bucket, missing a luggage rack, and now, about to order room service, cannot find a hard copy menu, is not available on the tv ( called and checked to be sure), and one by one had to get all items delivered to our room. So we received the menu. This is all you have for room service, really? Hyatt for years has been one of my favorites, but have had many disappointments in the past year. I really enjoyed my time here! This hotel is still undergoing renovations, but nothing that significantly impacted our stay. The front desk allowed me to check in by 9 AM when I arrived after an early morning flight AND I was allowed a late checkout at 2 PM-- so great. The hotel had a lot of availability so that may be why they were able to be so flexible. One issue that we had was that we could hear some loud music late at night, but we never figured out where it was coming from lol. We also really enjoyed breakfast at the compass restaurant. The restaurant had an amazing 360 view of the city. Overall it was a very comfortable stay and staff was very welcoming. Best part about this hotel is the proximity to the airport (less than 15mins). I'd definitely stay here again if I venture back to Phoenix. read more

the hotel was very nice, but the problem we had was with the service. We get that things have changed because of covid so after our second day when no one came to replenish the coffee in our room and leave some fresh towels we asked at the desk if we needed to request this. The clerk told us " some times yes and some times no" odd answer so we told them we would like coffee and some fresh towels. Neither thing happened so we went back to the front desk again the third day. The clerk (different from day two) said she couldn't believe that had happened and she would correct the problems, she then gave us a $50 credit to the gift shop. Day 4 comes and no coffee or towels again. We gave up and bought our coffee at a shop and reused towels until we left. Not a huge deal but at $225 per night I expect better. Before checking in, I read a description of this Hyatt as being "retro." Very apt. The decor did seem a bit like stepping back in time to the 60s and 70s to a big convention hotel -- complete with revolving roof-top restaurant. Unlike some reviewers, we had a positive experience with the valet service. The valet was upfront about parking charges: $23/day for valet or $12/day for the self-parking garage which was about a block away. DH parked the car while I checked in. We were using a free night with an annual reward from our Hyatt card. Check-in went smoothly. We were upgraded to a king room on 21st floor and also given 2 PM check out, which we did not need. Our room was clean, fresh, and decent sized. DH was happy to find a comfortable chair with separate ottoman. After a day of travel, we were both tired so decided to have dinner at the hotel's Compass Arizona Grill (see separate review). The next morning, for convenience, we had the buffet breakfast at Networks (see separate review). All in all, the Hyatt Regency Phoenix met our needs. First off this hotel is prime real-estate. It is located by all of the popular places like the Phoenix Convention Center, sports arenas and concert halls. The inside lobby is so pretty, the staff is so nice and willing to help you. They do offer Valet parking but there are also many parking garages near by. My room was amazing! The bed was so comfortable (California King). They offer amenities like soap. Shampoo and conditioner. It's a good brand too. Very clean and cozy room. When you turn on the TV it has your name welcoming you which was great! I felt appreciated. There is a restaurant and cafe also located at the hotel. The popular restaurant is called "The Compass". It is located on the very top floor of the hotel. I had a great stay and will be back even though I live in the Phoenix area. read more

A few weeks ago, my husband and I spent one night here. We checked in a little late, after 9pm. We were greeted by a very friendly woman whose name escapes me, and check-in was very simple and fast. Parking is a bit much, they tack on a $26/night charge to self-park at the adjacent Convention Center parking garage. Maybe cheaper parking in a garage that's further and not affiliated with the Hyatt could be an option if you choose to walk a little further. Our room was a king room with a balcony and city views. The wall of the balcony was solid windows, floor to ceiling, and our view was of the convention center building that was across the way from our room. Not much of a view, but we weren't too bothered by it since it was late. The room had a nice, comfy king sized bed and the bathroom was decently roomy. The bathroom mirror was awesome, though! It was backlit around the edge and had perfect light much like a ring light. Perfect for putting on your makeup, no weird shadows! We like sleeping in a colder room so we tried to set the AC to 68 degrees, and by morning it maybe made it down to 1 degree north of there from the 74 degrees the temperature was set to upon our arrival. As soon as the sun came up, those thin floor to ceiling east-facing windows became like a magnifying glass, amplifying the sunlight and heat, so the temperature of the room steadily climbed from its low mark as soon as the sun hit those windows, even with the blackout curtains pulled shut. This was a pleasant April morning, probably no warmer than 72 outside -- if you're staying at the Hyatt Regency in the summer, you may want to request a room without east-facing (or west-facing) windows, lest your room become an oven. We had a short stay, just the one night, and checked out the next morning before 10am. Once again, a very pleasant experience to check out. I don't stay in a lot of hotels, but much like "luxury" apartment complexes, they often seem to be just the same as any other place to stay, they just have nicer looking fixtures and decor. Perhaps if we stayed longer than one night, we could have experienced more that the Hyatt had to offer but it was pleasant enough of a place to stay. read more

Clean but to be honest for celebrating our anniversary, they said they would make the experience special for us and it was nothing out of the ordinary. We paid for a corner high floor room and our view was a parking garage instead of the city. We were told ahead of time by an employee that they would waive out parking and we were hit with a fee in the end. The bathroom was nothing special, the door didn't even match up to the lock. The shower was old and not well taken care of. We spent a lot of money and had higher expectations. Overall if you just want a place to sleep this is okay. I stayed here with my friend while we were attending a convention down at the Phoenix Convention Center. Staying on the 16th floor with a downtown view after a long day at the convention was Heaven. The beds are soft, the rooms are quiet and spacious, and the wifi is free. Although we had to pay for parking, it's no different than paying to park by the convention center. It pretty much evens out. The scenic elevator was that of Los Angeles' The Westin Bonaventure. You get a view of the hotel lobby and atrium before it shoots through the roof and you get a view of the great outdoors. The lobby is decorated nicely and check-in/check-out is speedy and friendly. There are a lot of eateries at the hotel and nearby so options are plenty. Most importantly: There's a Starbucks nearby. Huzzah! It makes convention time go by more smoothly and makes me a happy camper. read more

It was my birthday weekend and waned to a staycation and stay downtown Phoenix, so I picked the Hyatt Regency checked on Friday night and left on Monday afternoon. I actually wound up booking a few rooms because I had family coming in from out of state. When I checked in I let the hotel know that only one room was mine that the others will be checking in later, I was asked why I was staying here, I told them to celebrate my birthday, the man who checked me in was very nice, told me happy birthday, upgraded my room and moved me to the 20th floor,, which was great for me because I was not on the same floor as the rest.haha My staycation was great, staff was very friendly and offered any type of help if needed. In the main lobby every morning was freshly made infused water, that was a nice touch! The room was perfect, the view was amazing. I even loved that the shower head was way taller than me. The beds were soft, and in the closet was extra pillows and blankets if needed. This was a great staycation and wouldn't mind doing that again. read more

The room was very clean and there were a few good restaurants and a grocery store (Fry's) nearby. They also have free parking (need to get the code from the hotel), which is wonderful as the other nearby garage is $18 for overnight parking. The lobby area however was amazing and when we walked in we thought , wow this is going to be a nice stay. I was flying back from Vegas when my flight got cancelled. Instead of staying in an airport hotel, I decided to check this Hyatt out so I can walk around downtown and explore Phoenix a bit. I was able to use a Diamond upgrade for the stay. However, there was some trouble at check-in. The front desk manager said the room I had booked was unavailable - Comicon was that weekend and they had so many check outs in one day that housekeeping didnt have enough time to service all the rooms rooms! I specifically needed a room with a separate bedroom and living room, which is why I used the suite upgrade. Anyway, the front desk manager kept saying that the room was unavailable, and after a bunch of going back and forth a bunch of times, I decided to take the "smaller room". Much to my surprise, the room was HUGE. Guess what? It had a separate bedroom and living space. And a kitchen. And 2 bathrooms. I called back the front desk manager and she seemed shocked. She finally admitted she has "never been in any of the rooms", which seems quite weird since shes the FRONT DESK MANAGER. All in all, this is a good stay within walking distance to 1 cool beer bar and 1 cool speakeasy type bar. Plus, the room was incredibly massive. Request room 420 if you can. read more

The staff was uniformly polite, from the front desk to the little store/eatery down near the lobby. The room was very clean and the shower worked well. Even though the decor was from a decade ago, I happened to like that color scheme, so I was happy. The little eatery provided me with exactly what I like for breakfast and snacks, so I was quite satisfied. It was a bit pricey, but not that bad. I got a great Hotwire price. There were some nice bar/restaurants in the neighborhood. No construction noise in the room or lobby. ONLY complaint was that in-room coffee only had a couple of packets of sweetener (and I use 3-5), so that didn't work for me. But I didn't bother calling so not an issue. I was in Phoenix for the first time this weekend for a conference in the Hyatt Regency and I was extremely impressed with this hotel. While I spent a lot of time in the meeting rooms, my interactions with the staff were very pleasant. They were super accommodating during meals for dietary restrictions, very kind, and were able to serve over 120 of us in no time at all! Everyone was so kind from when I checked in, to the staff helping with the conference, to when I checked out. The hotel itself was beautiful! Prior to coming this weekend, I looked online and was so impressed by the pictures. I was even more impressed when I walked in and saw that the building was truly just as incredible as shown in the pictures. The lobby area is wonderful, the elevators are beautiful, the meeting rooms are spacious, and the bedrooms are very clean and have an incredible view of the city. One night, we were able to see fireworks before going to bed from the baseball stadium. I would recommend staying at this hotel to anyone. It's a wonderful location with great restaurants nearby (and attached), an incredible staff, and will definitely be a memorable stay. read more

Comfortable room, beds very comfy, bathroom has nice amenities (Kenet MD shower amenities are wonderful. Great Location. Light rail just a few blocks away, Chase Field (Diamondbacks Baseball) only 3 blocks away (walking). Also the PHX pedi-cab service is AWESOME! About a 15 minute taxi ride from PHX Airport. Nice Pool & workout room. (clean) Horseback riding facility close by (20 minute taxi ride) Concerge Staff very helpful with dining, shopping & local area. Bell Service very friendly. Lucky Strikes bowling & downtown banking within blocks. Networks Grill (average) Terrace Cafe breakfast buffet ($19.00) wonderful selections, lots to choose from. I brought several teachers with me to Phoenix for a professional development seminar. We all got hotel rooms at the Hyatt. Parking for the hotel is not marked well. I had to drive into the valet area to ask where the structure was. Parking ain't cheap here. However, the service of the staff was good. My room had a wonderful view. I found it to be quite comfortable and clean. Considering the price we paid for the room, it had better be! There were some weird charges on some of our folios. Nice Lobby when entering and glass elevator. Rotating restaurant on top looks nice, but I did not eat there. Rooms need to be renovated. Shower had mold stains around tub. Also, in our room, there was some kind of film on the window which kept the room dark during the day, requiring us to turn on the lamps. Not having enough natural light in the room during the day was depressing. We put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, but housekeeping came in anyway at 9:30am while I was in the bathroom. In talking to others staying at this hotel, I was told that there are rooms that do not have film on the windows and face in the right direction for a beautiful sunrise. Staff 5 no complains there. Rooms are badly in need of updating for what you pay for. Our shower was not working properly, someone came to fix it but it was the same the next day. We stayed 5 days here. Probably got a lot of complains already that they did not want to hear about it thus the note from the hotel that they are renovating soon and they already know what is wrong. Gym was great. Pool and hot tub needs renovation. Towels were old. Bedding was not good quality on thread count and was a little bit on itchy side. What makes this stay worst was our supposedly "FREE BREAKFAST" that was not really free. Because the hotel was not filled so there was no buffet available. Voucher says its either you get a free buffet or a free entree, coffee + juice and already includes 18%gratuity fee. Even server said we don't owe anything. Come checkout time we were told we were only allowed to use 2 vouchers a day and max at $24. Why then vouchers have one expiration date and nothing was said about this during check in. Anyhow we had to pay extra for the breakfast. Now I got pissed because if it was free I wouldn't complain but since it was not even that good for what it was priced at. There's a lot of places outside I could have spent our money on for way better option. I still have to complain about this to Booking.com ! read more

Stayed here for a convention. Decor is nice. Would have stayed at the Westin if I knew that you can't even talk normally in your room after 10 PM. Only picked the Hyatt because it was closer to the convention center. We were just chit chatting, not partying, our kid was not jumping around or screaming. 1030 PM we get a BANGING on the door from next door saying we are too loud (rude!) Then 1031 we get a call from front desk telling us to quite down. Wow. They need to have better sound barriers if they they want to pride themselves on giving their guest a good night sleep. There is a sign outside of the elevator that says to keep noise down from 10pm-8am. So I thought we were quite. TV was not loud we were just talking. I do not recommend staying here if you have kids, like to talk at night, want to party or have "fun". Come here for business by yourself. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed staying at this hotel. Went on what was suppose to be a long weekend trip but due to the winter storm I was stranded in Phoenix for a week so the Hyatt became my home. Check in was simple and I liked the fact that there was a nearby parking garage with a code so everyone doesn't have access to it. I booked a junior suite that was on the 14th floor. The views of the city was amazing. The room was super clean. My favorite part were the windows and the barn door over the bathroom. When we found out our flight got canceled to head back to Dallas they gave us a reduced rate. Our flight was canceled twice before we were able to leave and they worked with us on pricing. The only part I hate I didn't get to experience was the restaurant on the top floor. It was Valentine's Day weekend and hard to book a table. For anyone visiting the Phoenix area stay here you won't regret it. read more

I remember staying at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix a number of years ago and it was a great experience. I was redeeming some Gold Passport points and was given a two bedroom suite on the top floor, complete with a living room with marble floors, a wet bar, and an entertainment center. There was a car rental agency right off the lobby and the hotel was located right downtown. The Phoenix Suns arena and Don Majerle's Sports Grill were literally right next door. This was about the time that the Diamondbacks were entering MLB and their ballpark was going up nearby, too. OK... I know that my experience is dated, but I had an awesome weekend stay at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix and highly recommend it. I hope to return sometime soon! read more

I came here last year during baseball season to watch a game. We decided to stay overnight in Phoenix and found this hotel through a website. I don't remember exactly how much it was but I know it was less than a hundred bucks a night and I was really happy with this place for the price. They have an awesome gym, the rooms are nice, with wonderful views, have a nice sized pool and they have a nice restaurant and coffee shop conveniently located on the lobby floor. We took advantage of the valet parking and we're very pleased with their service. I love the fact that they're walking distance from the basketball arena and the baseball stadium. Not many options for eating establishments in downtown Phoenix but it was okay for the most part. It's a really nice hotel and for the price I would definitely stay here again anytime during the season. read more

I've always loved this place. It's like a landmark of Phoenix. Over the years, I've just become fonder due to the nostalgia of the place! It has such a presence downtown. And even though some other hotels have gone up over the years in the same vicinity, this is still probably my fave! I recently got away for a little stay-cation and this was the spot I chose. The rooftop pool is on the 3rd floor and it is a little small, but it caused guests to talk to each other and interact which may not happen at a resort with a huge overwhelming pool. While there is no waiter service at the pool, they will bring you room service up. We ordered a bottle of champagne and some OJ and sipped mimosas until the sun went away. The interior of the hotel is breathtaking. In my opinion. All the decor and furniture just perfectly placed to create a spectacle of luxury. There are conveniences such as kiosks for key pick up, online check in/check out, business center, fitness facility-oh did I mention The Compass Room? Maybe one of the most noteworthy Phoenix spots! I don't care who you are, the view from The Compass Room restaurant is impressive, something not to be missed. ESPECIALLY if you already live here and have never been. The room was nice, modern and upgraded. We had a room with a private patio that overlooked the street from the 7th floor. It was incredible! Of course the service was every bit what you know of Hyatt. Very friendly and top notch. And don't forget how fun the elevators are! I dare you not to say "Weeeeee!!" as you head from the top to the lobby! read more

Par for a Hotel Stay and Conference Visit The Hyatt Regency definitely shows its age. I was with a colleague there who said he remembers having his prom at the hotel in the 1970s! The streetscape is dull and the entrance somewhat cramped. Conference areas and ballrooms are split-- main ballroom(s) are on the first floor, in the center of the hotel, while the boardrooms are scattered on the second floor. Workable and there are some convenient work/lounge areas. First floor is very dark whereas the second floor has a good amount of light. Staff is nice and the food is pretty good. It's one of those places where you can see a lot of potential with a good renovation and updated design eye to solve the bland architecture and interior spaces. read more

To get in and out privileges you must get pass from hotel. Only one garage accepts them: The regency garage. Not very many food choices within the hotel. The Network restaurant was awesome for drinks and an appetizer...bartenders on point. Breakfast not the best....however server was awesome!!! Only other choice was the Market to go stuff. The restaurant at the top does not have a bar area to have a drink and enjoy the view. . Again beds so comfortable as we expect from a Hyatt Regency and good service but nothing else really stands out! And dont put waters in room unless free for everyone...free for Elite Members only. $5 for everyone else! read more
