What an amazing experience! Our guide Sarah was awesome! She knew so much about the land and horses. We had a private trail ride for an hour through the beautiful desert. Then we were taken in an UTV and went to their historical western town. It was so cute. There we went into the saloon, did axe throwing, horseshoe toss, cattle roping, archery and we shot a 22! All so adventurous and fun. Our horses were named: Wyatt, Jason, Oakey and Sparky- the boys! They were sweet and easy to ride. With the ride and time in the "town", we ended up being there from 10-2:30! Sarah made it memorable, and we would highly recommend spending the day here.

This was the most beautiful ride. Horses were calm, gentle, and well behaved. The western town was well maintained and so fun. They have games set up around the town like axe throwing, bow and arrow practice, lasso's laid out to try,etc... The saloon was so great too! Overall we had the best experience, and now I can't wait to go back and bring friends. This would be awesome for a big party too! Our horse guide was genuine, kind and super friendly. His name was Rich. Also highly recommend him!

First safety; next tons of fun!! - A man with a large hat and sunglasses assists a young girl wearing ear protection in handling a firearm at an outdoor shooting range.

We had the best time and will absolutely be back again. Took our 7 year old and she was able to do it all: ride solo, and enjoy shooting, archery and axe throwing. The experience was far more than we expected., and you really get a lot for the price. Between the ride and the other activities, we were there for about 3 hours, which felt perfect. Big thank you to Zach for taking care of us and being a great guide. FYI, don't recommend using the address here on Yelp yo get there. You should follow the directions that they give you.

I would tell you this. Don't hesitate and just go there. Western Destination offers an experience you won't regret. I would like to thank the staff for this amazing day. Especially Rusty. Rusty was our guide. He took great care of us. Extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and the vegetation he also has a lot of funny/interesting stories. He loves his horses and they love him back. It was just a pleasure spending time with him. I highly recommend you to pick him as your guide.

Wanted to take the kids (14, 12) horseback riding outside the city for a more back-to-nature feel. We ended up going with the Canyon Creek location and couldn't be happier with our decision. You have to cross a couple of flowing creeks to get to the ranch so, if you don't have an SUV, they have you park and ride with them. When you check in they ask if you want to add lunch for an additional charge. Do it. We had the cheese burgers and they were grilled fresh, huge and there were plenty of toppings, sides and dessert to fill everyone up. Once checked in we were introduced to our guide and on horses within 5 minutes. Every group is kept private so once the three of us were on our mounts, we were off. The horses were beautiful and in great shape, obviously well cared for. The trail wound through the desert, canyon and gave us some beautiful scenery to enjoy. Our guide was able to provide some interesting info on the area, but didn't talk the entire time so we could just enjoy the ride. After the ride we hopped into a 4x4 that took us across (through) a flowing river to a small 1800's style Mexican village they had built. We were offered beverages then escorted around the village for hatchet throwing, roping, archery and shooting a real .22 pistol (perfect for my 12 year old who had never fired a gun). After lunch we explored on our own and discovered panning for gold, horseshoes and other activities. All in all, it was a great way to spend 3 hours and well worth the 45 minute drive.

BEST DATE IDEA! Brought my boyfriend here as a birthday present, it exceeded my expectations! Rusty was the best! He really took the time to explain and point out everything during our horse riding, as well as take pictures for us. We had so much fun with him through all the activities and really made us feel welcomed! We can't wait to go back and bring the kids. Was so worth the trip out there.

I can't say enough great things! Our guide Todd was absolutely an angel with our special needs daughter! He made sure she got to enjoy every even like everyone else in our group you could see she felt so included and had so much fun! Two of us have never been on a horse before and were absolutely terrified....with his guidance we felt like naturals after 5 min! It was worth every penny and more! We had so much fun and it was so beautiful we couldn't help but want to return each year from now on if we can. They are truly attentive to the guests needs and go out of their way to provide excellent service and a memorable experience to everyone! Thank you so much for the great memories!!! Hope to see you all again soon!

Do you have a horse drawn carriage for those that cannot ride a horse?

We do not, we have 4 wheel tours they could go on while we ride, or a great bar and old west town they could explore.

There are several packages that are available. 623-374-5245 is the reservation line. Hope to see you out there.-Chris

Rusty offered to take many pictures for us while we were in the Wild West town and showed us all of the buildings they had out there.

Since they confirmed this was an option, we went ahead and booked a meet and greet to check it out and get the tour, which I thought was a great thing to offer prospective clients. First impressions, the facility was clean, well kept, well stocked, organized and all the horses we saw were healthy, happy and well mannered. These folks clearly care about the animals and have deep bonds with them, something which was evident not only in the animals and their surroundings but also how the staff interacted with them. Everyone we met was respectful and friendly, both to each other and to us, so that was nice to see. While on the topic of first impressions, there are a few things that could have been better and which, in concert, stopped us from returning after the tour. For one thing, we never actually got to meet Hailey, due to some kind of scheduling goof at her end. No disrespect to James, he did a fantastic job in her place, but it was very awkward to show up expecting Hailey and having no clue what was going on until James stumbled upon us, figured out we were Hailey's prospects and introduced himself. It may not be a big deal to some folks, but this is one of my pet peeves. If I'm looking to spend THOUSANDS with your barn and you can't be bothered to even be present for the meet and greet, then intentionally or not, you convey to me that I'm not worth your time. This goes doubly when your absence is a total surprise. If I'm not worth your time, not even an email or text to let me know James is filling in, what does that tell me as a client? Call that the first strike and the first dropped star. Another thing which was compounded by Hailey's absence was that we didn't really get a sense for whether couple's Western lessons were really a thing at this barn or not. I saw virtually no Western tack and there was lots of commentary from James that what they mean by "couple's lesson" is that you will pay for two trainers to work with you simultaneously, in separate parts of the facility. To me this is NOT a couple's lesson, it's just two people taking lessons apart from each other at 2x full price. Additionally, we couldn't get clear answers on taking specifically Western lessons. I was told that whether we would ride/learn Western or English would depend first on the tack that was best for the horse and that we'd use a mix of English and Western tack depending on what we were learning that day. I also was told that James is primarily a Western trainer while Hailey's background is English. I had a hard time understanding how we'd be doing couple's Western lessons if there's one Western trainer and one English trainer and sometimes one of us would be learning English riding in an English saddle with an English trainer. Again, that is NOT a couple's Western lesson, it sounds like two people taking lessons in different disciplines, apart from each other at 2x full price. Call this the second strike and second dropped star. After the tour and subsequent follow-up emails, we reluctantly decided to look elsewhere for our lessons. To be clear, it was never about the money, it was about spending time and learning together as a couple. It just didn't seem like that was an option here. When a barn has a fundamental misunderstanding of what clients are looking for in a "couple's lesson", they probably shouldn't offer them in the first place. Anyone that spends any amount of time working with horses will quickly learn that behavior is a language. Unfortunately, as seems to be the case here, some trainers don't appreciate that their own behavior is a language, let alone what it's saying to their clients. I have said before and will repeat it here: riding instruction is a people business, NOT a horse business. You will be more successful and attract more customers if you act like you understand the difference. Bottom line: I think this might be a good place for individuals looking for English or maybe inter-disciplinary/mixed riding lessons, but if you're looking for couple's lessons, or specifically Western instruction, neither seems to be offered here and you'd be better served elsewhere.

We started lessons here at Hailey's Horsemanship with James. Our first impression: the facilities…read moreare clean, the horses are happy and well cared for, and both James and Hailey are very welcoming as well as knowledgeable. I would recommend this place to anybody who is considering lessons for their kids or themselves!
