I was looking for a spot with fresh, flavorful food, a relaxed vibe, and maybe a little something extra to keep my teenage nieces and nephew entertained. MATCH Market & Bar checked just about every box. Before we even ordered, the kids were already wandering through the little market area, which turned out to be half the fun. They found a locally designed jigsaw puzzle, grabbed a few unique snacks for later, and suddenly I had bought myself a few uninterrupted minutes to look over the menu. Parents, aunts, uncles... you know those moments are priceless. Now let's talk about the food. We went all in. Salmon, steak, fresh salads, wings, tacos, appetizers, a sandwich (don't ask me which one because everybody was reaching across the table stealing bites), fries, and every plate was a winner. Everything tasted fresh and had just enough creativity without trying too hard to be "chef-y." It felt like the kind of menu where almost anyone can find something they'll enjoy. My one... and only..,. complaint? The ordering system. Call me old-fashioned, but I'm still a fan of sitting down, having someone take my order, and easing into the dining experience. Ordering at the register, grabbing a table number, and waiting for food delivery always feels a little like upscale cafeteria dining to me. It certainly didn't ruin the experience, but if MATCH ever switched to full table service, I'd probably become a regular. The atmosphere was easygoing and welcoming. We visited early in the afternoon, so it wasn't buzzing just yet. We enjoyed our meal, caught up on family gossip, laughed way too loudly a few times, and then headed out. I noticed they host live music and other events in the evenings, though, and I have a feeling the whole place takes on a completely different personality after dark. If you're looking for a casual lunch with fresh food, good ingredients, and a downtown location that somehow manages to avoid feeling chaotic, MATCH is absolutely worth checking out. The pricing was fair and appropriate for this area, so that was a plus. It's the kind of place that's equally good for a quick bite, meeting friends, or bringing out-of-town guests who want something a little different. Will I be back? I think so. But next time I'm coming in the evening. I want to see this place with a cocktail in hand, music playing, and a little more of the energy that I suspect makes MATCH shine.

Good looking out for when I left my computer mouse at bar staff one morning. Ha ha ha. The hotel restaurant is trendy and the menu is solid. Prices are reasonable and food all tastes darn good!!! Rooms were large and very open!!! Keep this in mind if rooming with someone. Bathroom is frosted glass walls. FYI. It can get a little noisy at night. lol. Pool is nice, no life guard. To see if this was possible I made contact with first Jayla, and second Bianca- both of which had outstanding customer service. I like the fact that both asked extensive questions to determine if I should have access to current guest lists- as a father and husband that was plus. I've never been to AZ, therefore as you could imagine I'm not too familiar with the area, nor the different service options. Jayla was helpful in not only giving me some options but also offering viable suggestions to accommodate my wife's birthday wishes. After solidifying my plans with payment I came into contact with Bianca. I don't think the two were in contact with one another but Bianca's service was great as well. She had me verify important information about the reservations, she confirmed that the gift was delivered and even discussed various ways to surprise my wife. My wife got the gift and loved it! In addition to that her stay at the Omni was amazing. Overall, the stay, & customer experience at the Omni was top tier. Thanks again Jayla and Bianca I couldn't have done that without you.

The clerk was nice, and let us know about the weekend Farmer's Market in the plaza the next morning. The room was comfortable. We only had 3 towels for 3 people, so we had to request towels. We also requested maid service, but never got it. No stress, tho. They brought us a microwave upon request, very awesome! Overall, the price was fair and the location was great! The parking fee was a little high, but we had guaranteed parking for our entire stay so that was nice for the cost.

Experiences "at" the hotel…read morearen't much to write home about (not much to the bar or purchaseable breakfast buffet), but it's a fantastic homebase for exploring the nearby areas. PROS: -The hotel provides two free, in-the-fridge, water bottles per day. That's such a great benefit, and we continually used them to stay hydrated in this heat. -Hotel staff was extremely friendly, and they'd greet us or say good-bye at every interaction. Every interaction we had with hotel staff was fantastic. -The shower was fantastic. It had a handheld shower head AND rainfall shower you can choose between. The controls were placed on the entrance side of the shower, ensuring you don't get shot with ice cold water while trying to turn it on. -Elevators were fast, and we rarely waited for one. -Room was clean and surprisingly spacious for being downtown. Zero complaints. -Extremely walkable to the convention center. Even in the ridiculous heat, it was a pretty short, not-horrific walk to the convention center. -The hotel is right next to the Arizona Center mall-esque area. There are cute events there (Farmer's Market, celebrations, etc.) in addition to a few restaurants. It could use more restaurants, but they're within a block's walk if you're staying local. -You're walkable to Roosevelt Row and the stadium. It's a longer walk, but it's doable. -You're also walkable to the Lightrail very easily. -They have a small selection of purchasable food items including frozen mini pizzas and ice cream. The room does not have a microwave by default, but they can bring one to your room upon request. CONS: -I saw a lot of people doing laptop work in the lobby. This is probably because the room doesn't really have a business chair or desk. It has a circular table with a lounge chair next to it. It'll work for doing work, but it's not great for looking presentable on business calls (with your slouched position) or back support for 8 hours. -The water from the spigot either comes out "Flaming Hot" or "Warm". There is no cold, and attempts to get it to "cold" just don't happen. Our shortcut: fill up your water bottle than tuck it into the fridge for a bit. -During Phoenix summer, with outdoor temps at 110, we couldn't get the AC to get under 74 degrees with the curtains fully drawn. When we opened the curtains, it couldn't get under 77. I assumed that all hotels in the area had the same issue, but the hotel we went to next stayed under 70 easily. I didn't report that it wasn't working nor have anyone come check the AC, though. -There are lots of bars and restaurants in the area, so I'm not sure the AC needed to compete, but the single in-lobby bar felt very generic and unremarkable compared to some downtown hotel bars I've been to in other metro areas.

Fourth of July: Sunset & Sparks at Vīb Hotel Tempe…read more We're a little late getting this one posted, but this rooftop celebration was definitely worth sharing. We had the opportunity to attend Sunset & Sparks at Vīb Hotel Tempe, where guests enjoyed an evening filled with rooftop views, a buffet dinner, complimentary cocktails, lawn games, live music, a photo booth, and of course, fireworks to end the night. As much as we love our usual Independence Day traditions, this was a refreshing change of pace. Instead of rushing around, we were able to slow down, take in an incredible Arizona sunset, enjoy some good food, listen to live music, and simply spend quality time together. The buffet featured grilled chicken, burgers with all the fixings, creamy potato salad, coleslaw, fresh toppings, patriotic desserts, and plenty of drinks to keep everyone cool throughout the evening. Sometimes it's not about doing the biggest celebration--it's about finding the right atmosphere to relax and enjoy the holiday. This rooftop event delivered exactly that. Thank you to Vīb Hotel Tempe for inviting us out to experience Sunset & Sparks. We had a wonderful evening and loved seeing another unique way to celebrate the Fourth of July in the Valley.

The first thing I noticed about our room was the layout. Typical hotel rooms have the headboards of the bed against the wall. Our room was totally different. There was a long desk which was the headboard of the bed and the foot of the bed faced the window. As a result, there was very little space between one side of the bed and the wall. It wasn't a big deal but worth noting. Our room was clean and quiet which was appreciated. I also really liked the fragrance of the body wash and lotion. It was definitely a little detail that I noticed. All in all our stay was comfortable and relaxing. If we are back in the area we would probably stay at the Vib Hotel again.

I appreciated how the long mirror and walls had several hangers which were really convenient. There was a water and ice machine on my floor but it was sadly out of service. Rooms are cleaned every other day by default. The only downside to my experience is that they only do check ins after 4pm. I was placed on a waitlist to see if I could check in earlier but it didn't really make a difference. I don't think I've been at other hotels with these policies before and I would have reconsidered my hotel options had I have know earlier. They do have a bag check service. There is valet parking for sure and I believe there may be self parking as well. The lobby has several computers and several couches/tables as well as restaurant/mini store area.

Very friendly and helpful staff, went out of their way twice to fetch sweetener and ice. Small convenience store next to front desk. Reasonable daily parking fee that includes unlimited in and out privileges Cons: On a five night stay, housekeeping only checked on us 2 days. Needs small repairs here and there. Example: 2 or 3 drawers had loose pulls that needed screw tightening, saw a weather strip partially detached from door frame. Small workout area had limited equipment. One treadmill was broken one day and I had to wait an hour for the treadmill hog on the only working treadmill to get off despite posted 45 minutes max use rule. Other equipment like weights a bit limited. They allow pets and one day we had to deal with a barking dog somewhere morning and night. We complained twice and the hotel staff could only say they tried and that people are not supposed to leave their pets unattended.
