When my family came to visit from NYC for the weekend, I was on a mission. I wanted to show them that Phoenix has more to offer than cacti, 115-degree weather, and Instagram worthy rooftops. I was looking for a spot with fresh, flavorful food, a relaxed vibe, and maybe a little something extra to keep my teenage nieces and nephew entertained. MATCH Market & Bar checked just about every box. Before we even ordered, the kids were already wandering through the little market area, which turned out to be half the fun. They found a locally designed jigsaw puzzle, grabbed a few unique snacks for later, and suddenly I had bought myself a few uninterrupted minutes to look over the menu. Parents, aunts, uncles... you know those moments are priceless. Now let's talk about the food. We went all in. Salmon, steak, fresh salads, wings, tacos, appetizers, a sandwich (don't ask me which one because everybody was reaching across the table stealing bites), fries, and every plate was a winner. Everything tasted fresh and had just enough creativity without trying too hard to be "chef-y." It felt like the kind of menu where almost anyone can find something they'll enjoy. My one... and only..,. complaint? The ordering system. Call me old-fashioned, but I'm still a fan of sitting down, having someone take my order, and easing into the dining experience. Ordering at the register, grabbing a table number, and waiting for food delivery always feels a little like upscale cafeteria dining to me. It certainly didn't ruin the experience, but if MATCH ever switched to full table service, I'd probably become a regular. The atmosphere was easygoing and welcoming. We visited early in the afternoon, so it wasn't buzzing just yet. We enjoyed our meal, caught up on family gossip, laughed way too loudly a few times, and then headed out. I noticed they host live music and other events in the evenings, though, and I have a feeling the whole place takes on a completely different personality after dark. If you're looking for a casual lunch with fresh food, good ingredients, and a downtown location that somehow manages to avoid feeling chaotic, MATCH is absolutely worth checking out. The pricing was fair and appropriate for this area, so that was a plus. It's the kind of place that's equally good for a quick bite, meeting friends, or bringing out-of-town guests who want something a little different. Will I be back? I think so. But next time I'm coming in the evening. I want to see this place with a cocktail in hand, music playing, and a little more of the energy that I suspect makes MATCH shine. read more

Walk in and the first thing you see is this giant painting of Burt Reynolds!!! It's an actual art piece!!! Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had a lot of questions. About the place the direction they were going and how to be an artist if I wanted to dabble a bit!!! They host little sessions in this cute little studio and if you care to indulge, walk around the hotel, there is art everywhere. The bar is fun and lively and the bartenders are wonderful!!! Good looking out for when I left my computer mouse at bar staff one morning. Ha ha ha. The hotel restaurant is trendy and the menu is solid. Prices are reasonable and food all tastes darn good!!! Rooms were large and very open!!! Keep this in mind if rooming with someone. Bathroom is frosted glass walls. FYI. It can get a little noisy at night. lol. Pool is nice, no life guard. But also not that large. Pleasant. All in all I had a good stay here 5 nights! I would love to do it again!!! read more

The staff: I found them to be accommodating, but not very sympathetic or apologetic when things went wrong.... Even a bit snooty. The good: Recently, Beautifully redecorated older hotel. Cool looking lobby nice artwork Nice bar area and cafe Nice showers in rooms Downstairs hallways were comfortably climate controlled The bad: Hallways on the room floors were a bit hot..if they were air conditioned, it wasnt working WATER/SNACKS are not available after bar and cafe close (around 9 is on weekday). If you want it, youll have to walk down the street a few blocks. EXPENSIVE: At first I thought their room rates were quite reasonable but upon checking in I ended up paying half as much again just for parking! PARKING: I scanned the QR code for parking immediately entered my info but failed to notice that i didn't receive a confirmation. Apparently something went wrong). 45 minutes later my car was booted and had to pay $220 to get it off! Be careful, whomever controls the parking is aggressive. there must be someone lurking there 24/7 waiting for the chance to get you! MECHANICALS: Looks like they spent a lot of money on aesthetics but not the mechanicals like air conditioning units. Couldnt sleep because my unit was 82 degrees at 10:00 pm so had repack and change rooms. read more

Checking in and out is fairly simple and the pricing wasn't inherently bad. The only thing that I didn't like was the parking situation. You have to either park on a prepaid spot and for two days it was about $70. If you didn't want to pay that you can park on the side street and hope that there is a spot for you. They provide two water bottles in the room, robes, and slippers are there are no carpets in the room. I would come back if I needed to but this wouldn't be my first choice. read more

I liked the hotel, it's kinda industrial style with the fancy arts and gallery. Great restaurant downstairs, one of the best recommendations on Google and Yelp. The room is very spacious with a nice new wine fridge and expensive toiletries, slippers and robes. However, you can hear all you neighbors wearing hills, opening and closing doors, moving through the hallways. So overall it is a positive experience, but I had a bad rime sleeping and woke up pretty often. So if you're a light sleeper, I would recommend staying somewhere else. read more

It's expensive. Yes. But a very nice trendy boutique hotel. Great showers! Loved the hair and body products. Comfy beds. Good restaurant and bar. Great artwork for sale throughout the building and all hotel rooms. Safe in room for valuables. One shocking downfall was the pool. It's nice! But it's so dang cold it's like an ice bath. Not heated. Didn't think it'd be colder than a PNW lake. We were the only two brave enough to dip in and out super fast. Would happily stay again. read more

Let me first say that this is a nice hotel is a great area of downtown--walking distance to coffee shops. The reason for the three stars is because of the industrial-style rooms flanked with metal, concrete floors, sliding restroom doors, and too much of an open concept. There is no sound-proofing between the restrooms, much less between neighboring walls. I could hear my neighbors chatting, coughing, and shuffling around, so I felt horrible washing my face and making my own noise early in the morning. And my room had a connecting door the next room, which I wish I would have been warned. Single and traveling alone, I don't like those and would have insisted on a different room. The hotel has a nice lobby and lobby bar; friendly staff... complimentary bottled water, coffee, fridge in the room was a plus. read more

The staff are all awesome humans!!! The lady at the front desk was awesome!!! She was definitely a vibe, full of laughter and has a great attitude. She deserves a raise for sure!!! The hotel rooms were reserved on 602 day when the deal was $60.20 for my double beds in my room and I'm glad that it was! Very good price! I love having 2 beds in my room...odd, I know! The room appears bigger with 2 beds and not claustrophobic. My preference! The rooms are cold/hot due to cement floors and has the lofty feel of loft apartments. The walls are super thin especially if there's a door connected to the other room. You can literally hear everything! The rooms I seen looked nothing like the photo which was deceiving on social media... unless they advertised a VIP MODEL on a different floor. The shower pressure is horrific in the shower and the shower head has settings in which, was annoying since the pressure was horrible! The water doesn't get very hot either! I found it odd that the sink was in the shower area, as well as, lead to another sink on the other side of the shower because I've never seen this before! I'm wondering why it's like this? Perhaps, I personally didn't have a good night's sleep here but we did enjoy the bar area with Jon and the staff at the restaurant gift area, all seemed nice. The pool area is ok but it's far from being a rooftop pool which is odd because had this had a rooftop pool, I'm pretty sure that, it would be booming since the location is one of the best! It was nice to lay by the pool with humans starring out of their room windows down at you, since the rooms overlook the pool. Lol awkward!!! They were definitely all in the window!! Boooooo!!! I must admit that, the view from my room was one of the best! Sleeping with the blinds wide open starring out into the sun fall and the moon rise was nice. I didn't sleep so it was nice having a view! Overall, it's not my preferred hotel stay, but it's not horrific.. everyone has their taste! Lobby: I love their art room and their lobby seating area which has phone charging ports. This is definitely a great lobby to sit to read a book or chat with pals. I like the open feel of the lobby! I think that my stay would've been better had the water pressure been better and the room was more comfortable but it felt cold and dark. I personally wouldn't want to stay here again but that's just my preference however I would refer others who has that lofty preference, to stay here! Parking isn't free however, you can parking lot pimp the area, and find free parking. I feel sorry for the residence who reside in the area because I'd hate to have to fight for free parking. Downtown is nice and everything is within walking distance in the area of this hotel if you're into small business shopping and cute restaurants. I love it down here for sure!!! They also have the zoom scooters on every corner that you could rent and roll around on, and the hotel has bikes as well that you can rent which is nice! I heard that the bike rentals are free as a guests but you might want to call and confirm before going. Thanks for having me, as it was a nice experience to stay in this area of downtown. The parking, resort fee, pool and water pressure was my 4star excuse! This is not Vegas Arizona, so please remove resort fees to attract more customers Overall,I had fun in downtown Phoenix read more

My husband planned a fun staycation for us. The design and atmosphere of the hotel is slick, and it is clear it is a boutique style hotel. The rooms are sleek and fit with an urban, modern vibe. Art lines the hallways and it is fun to browse. We hit the pool a bit after check-in, the area is quiet and towels are out on the lounge chairs. Overall, the room and hotel grounds are clean. The reason for two stars... we went to check in and there is a QR code to scan for ACE parking, we began the process but went back outside to complete and to confirm our license plate number. We paid the parking fee for 24 hours. My husband noticed two ACE parking employees watching him as he put in our info to pay for the parking fee. We went to enjoy the pool. A couple hours later when we went back outside to head to dinner, there was a boot on our tire and sticker on the window, the sticker stated to pay the $130 fee for release of the boot. It also stated there was a $10 FEE to call for customer service. How crazy that the parking ticket was almost as much as the cost of the room--which was $143! Frustrated, we went back inside to talk to the front desk. The two employees could barely make eye contact and aloofly stated that they have nothing to do with parking, and we needed to contact ACE via email if we wanted to dispute the matter. They handed us a laminated sheet with the email address. It seems evident this is not the first time they have had guests complain. The reason for two stars was the lack of customer service. We understand the parking is outsourced; however, to treat hotel guests like we are an inconvenience is another matter. If you have a QR code to scan for parking INSIDE the hotel, then hotel guests should be given enough time to scan and pay before ACE pounces on guests with a ticket! We paid the fee to get the boot removed and sent an email to ACE with proof of our earlier parking spot payment... here's to hoping the ticket is refunded. There is no clear signage that states hotel guests must pay for parking immediately upon arrival. read more

The room itself was OK. Exception. The shower. Awful. Water all over the bathroom floor. Nothing to keep it contained. Booked this hotel as it was for a girls weekend. The draw was the pool with outdoor bar. Pool was great. Outdoor bar was NEVER opened. Very disappointed with that as it was the primary draw to this hotel. Parking is awful. Total scam. Hotel says nothing to do with it. But it is what they use! We had our car booted night one! After getting a confirmation "thank you". And $130 citation later. No answer to calls. Emails. Or text messages. And the hotel does nothing to assist. Location to Roosevelt Row was good. Unfortunately, we would not recommend it stay here again. read more

Don't leave your car in parking lot without paying, you'll get a huge fine and they put a boot on your tire. I went inside to check in and drop some stuff off in my room and I was going to add the parking to my room. But you can only do that if you get valet service. So I had to go back to the lot to get the license plate number from my rental car, so I could pay through the app, and there was already a boot on my car and a $200 fine!!!! The people at the front desk explained that it's a third party company that owns the parking lot, but it's a bad policy for out of town guests. They need more signage to let people know that you risk a huge fine and a boot on your car if you take even a few minutes to check in. Pay immediately or don't park there. read more

Incredible boutique hotel! I loved our stay here. Walking around looking at all the art, what a treat! The room was also amazing we stayed in a 2 queen room looking over the pool which was quite nice. The ac kicks and the staff is amazing here, from the front desk to the bar and the café! The gym is quaint but gets the job done and pool was rarely in use while we were here because it was like 112° but looks nice. We also got tickets to the art museum for free and a $15 credit per day at the restaurant! Its in the art district so lots of cool places in walking distance. Thank you for making our trip so enjoyable, would reccomend! read more

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in the arts district of Phoenix. "Industrial chic" decor with larger rooms, concrete floors, metal light fixtures, and a very large shower which feels open but provides privacy. Everything is very new and fresh. Best of all the place doubles as an art gallery with a lot of interesting local art, and a huge lobby with attached shop/restaurant with excellent service and reasonable prices, healthy options for food. I will definitely stay here again, the price point was quite good for all the above. The parking lot in the back slightly pricey with open parking lot, right next to light raiil and a park. read more

I stayed here for a long weekend and had a great time. The rooms themselves had hardwood floors with an industrial, metal decor throughout. There was a massive open shower in the bathroom - along with accessible seating/shower head options. The prices were also very affordable and service incredibly excellent and kind. They also had different rotating art galleries - and it was cool experiencing all of the art. I came on the tale end of their Randy Johnson collection - and the curators were very nice and friendly individuals. The lobby has a lot of space for you to work/explore. The inhouse restaurant/bar/store were solid options for hotel food all things considering. The prices were reasonable (though not amazing deals) and service fairly speedy. Overall, I wouldn't hestitate to recommend this hotel if you're looking for a fun hotel to stay in! read more

My fiancé and I stayed here for his birthday weekend and we enjoyed it! We brought our beautiful fur baby with us and we really appreciated how pet friendly this boutique hotel was. Honestly, the price overall for what you get is quite moderate I think because it is in the downtown area next to places you can grab some breakfast bites, parks to walk your pets, and relatively easy parking. Overall, the room was clean and had a modern, industrial vibe, which we enjoyed. The bed was actually not uncomfortable like we are normally used to when we travel so the three of us were able to relax and unwind pretty quickly. They offer walk through areas within the hotel that have art hangings, pet accommodations like extra bowls if you forgot one at home, and the staff was quite friendly overall. They do also have the availability of room service and a restaurant called Match downstairs next to the lobby where you can grab food, or order to the room. We weren't a huge fan of the breakfast or food overall just because it was portioned quite small for the price they charge, and the quality of it wasn't worth it to us. The surrounding area was urban and had plenty of walkways for us to take our fur baby around for walks! We loved that element of the stay. There is a valet service as well built into the price of the stay, but we never used it because there was a validated parking area for patrons. We would definitely consider coming back when we decide to enjoy Phoenix again since we have family out here! read more

This is the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in, with a price to match, but you definitely get what you pay for. My wife and I had a king room, which was spacious, very clean, and had a massive open shower. The artistic decor was really well done, I wish I could have checked out more rooms in the hotel just to see how each one was decorated differently. The front desk clerk was attentive and kind, and he even thought to offer us a crib for our infant when I totally forgot to ask - he just noticed we had the baby and asked if we wanted one. It was delivered to our room within minutes of us arriving in there. Others are absolutely right in their descriptions, this place has a unique industrial vibe. Electrical fixtures are run through exposed metal pipes, the floors are concrete with area rugs, and there are exposed beams in some places. It felt like someone rehabbed an old factory and appointed it very tastefully. The hotel restaurant was quite good, but we only ate there once. The hotel provides a free coffee or gelato coupon, and stocks the fridge daily with free Fiji waters. I would stay again if my wallet wasn't so empty... read more

First time visiting Phoenix for a concert at the Van Buren and I stayed here a couple weeks ago. I loved how welcoming the space is. It feels like you're staying in a really warm art gallery. The rooms feel industrial with the most comfortable beds. I got a really great nights sleep. Not to mention the shower and its products set me up to fall asleep effortlessly. The robes were so comfy I'm asking for one for Christmas! I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in phoenix. Their staff is so friendly and the rooms were the perfect size to boot. FOUND:RE Phoenix is located in the Roosevelt Row district in downtown Phenix near the Phoenix Art Museum and Margaret T. Hance Park. The hotel has a fitness center, pool and dining at MATCH Market & Bar. The name FOUND:RE is pronounced "Foundry" and describes what this hotel is all about - discovery and innovation. Even though I have never stayed here, I do visit from time to time for the art work that is displayed throughout the hotel and for drinks. The Juried Exhibition is one of my favorites and I have had many artist friends have their work displayed here. If you have never been, FOUND:RE does a great job of curating this exhibit with some of the best art Phoenix has to offer. I highly recommend checking it out. read more

I want to like this hotel but cannot and won't return in the future. Walls are paper thin and even worse if you get a room that shares an adjoining door. Thankfully we only heard loud talking and the television but still....big gap under both of the adjoining doors. Also, the conference room off the side of the lobby area is quite annoying. If there was a way to reconfigure that area to keep hotel guests and conference people separate, that would be so much nicer. I did not like how conference people were spilling out into the lobby area, making it very loud and crowded. We were downstairs first thing for coffee and breakfast and staff were not ready to go. Lastly, the heating/cooling vents in the rooms are HELLA loud. While it did drown out the neighboring room watching their TV, it was just too loud. read more

One of my FAVORITE hotels, and I travel a lot for work. This is located in a wonderful part of Phoenix. Cute Roosevelt Row area with cafes, restaurants and museums, all within walking distance. This place is an updated Best Western, but you'd never know it. Great modern, industrial vibe. Rooms are well thought out, unique and fun. Bathrooms have an interesting set up, with sink available on both sides (from shower and room side). LOVE the lobby restaurant+bar+gift shop. Monday and Tuesday are all day Happy Hour. The location of this hotel can't be beat! The design inside is really wonderful and I think this hotel was really needed in downtown Phoenix. I loved the free coffee or Gelato welcome gift. There is so much attention to detail here. Although we didn't take advantage of the free rental bikes, it was great that those were available. Our room was very spacious and had all the amenities that we needed along with a great view of the city and the pool from the penultimate floor (7).the top floor is a penthouse or suites, so with our standard reservation, we got the best view possible. Folks should be aware that the bathrooms are unique. A good friend and I were sharing a double. You really have to be comfortable with the person you are in the room with because the bathroom walls are made of smoked glass. You can't *really* see what's going on in the bathroom, but you can hear it, and of the lighting is just right, you can see the person's silhouette shadow in the shower (like that scene in Flashdance). When we arrived I was a little disappointed that there was no bell person to help me with my luggage. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I expect that at a hotel of this caliber, plus I had been camping prior so I had a lot of luggage when I arrived! The luggage carts were artsy and industrial but also unwieldy and hard to maneuver. Although the listing said there was free valet, there was no valet when we arrived. Although the parking was advertised as free, the parking wasn't free but built into the daily resort fee of $35. All of this was completely acceptable, but it should have been clearly stated in the listing when I made the reservation. The uncovered parking was ample and straightforward in the lot immediately behind the property. The small pool was sufficient but deserted every day that we were there. We visited during Memorial Day, and honestly, I felt like all of Phownix was deserted. Even with the miscommunication of the listing, I would still come back to this hotel. It's cute and in the heart of downtown Phoenix, where everything is walkable. You can take the light rail to places further away (like the airport, the stadiums, or the east valley) , though you would need a car for many places in Phoenix (like Camelback or the Superstition mountains). read more

I have to say that I loved the style of the hotel and the friendly employees. The artwork was great and the little shop had some awesome items. The problem i had at the hotel was the manager Travis i called the front desk because I didn't look at my key card and find the password for the wifi and I ask what it was and he responded capital F capital Y find yourself well I didn't hear him clearly so I asked again and he repeated himself with an attitude and then hung up before I could even thanked him. When I went down to the desk area to see who it was he was berating one of his employees in front of people and the young man was a really nice man. I felt totally sorry for the young man. I also didn't like how they locked the back door of the hotel where we all had to park and didn't let people enter through the back door. They actually deactivated the keypad so you couldn't enter and to top it off I asked them every day about why the keypad wasn't working and they would always tell me they would look at it. At the end I was very upset that I had to walk around the building to get inside. Well the last thing that I had a problem with was the breakfast that they offered, it was like 4 or 5 basic things till 10 am then you could order the brunch and the breakfast which is what me and my wife wanted. So we basically had to go out for breakfast every day. Do better FoundRe because we really did like it there with a few exceptions and get rid of the manager. read more

Great hotel. Price was right and rooms are very clean. The vintage look has a cool vibe.

We have been staying here since Friday night when we checked in. Being from out of town I was completely lost trying to find this place. It is located downtown in the arts district. It's all one way streets around here. So if you past something you will be making a uturn somewhere. I did see it as we passed and I thought no that can't be it. Because the entry looks like a loading unloading area. But nope that is where you go to check in. This place grows on you if you aren't familiar with it. It is an artys kind of establishment. Not really my thing but I thought I would keep an open mind. Off to the right as you walk into the lobby there is a room full of artwork. It is pretty cool. To your left is the restaurant that looks pretty good. The check in process was easy and we were off to our room. What a surprise as you enter the room. This is definitely not your average hotel room. The room is something like a manufacturing facility that has been turned into a hotel room. It really is pretty neat. The bed is framed with literally iron rails. With more iron rails behind for support. The electrical work is all exposed throughout the room. I've never seen anything like this. The bathroom as has the coolest shower and sink combination. The toilet is in same room as the shower. The sink is in the same room as the shower as well and the other half of the sink in on the other side of the wall so another person can wash up while you shower. The towel rack and toilet paper holders are all made of pipe and capped with piping caps. The place is so clean. It has been an interesting stay. It is close to many good places to eat and have a good cold beer. There is a farmers market close by on Saturdays. There is a lot of homeless people around this area. But they don't bother anyone. So I wouldn't let that keep me from staying here again. I think the only thing for someone that isn't familiar with the area is the one way streets. You definitely will be getting turned around. So just be patient. read more

Great hotel if you have dogs! The room is spacious, all concrete floors which is great for dogs in case of spills or otherwise. Very interesting bathroom and the overall aesthetic is very industrial and hipster like that, but all good. The bed is also extremely comfortable! I tried leaving 2.5 stars but rounded up to 3. I chose to stay here due to reviews found online of how clean it was. Ironically, I did not find our room to be clean. The shower head was dirty. The shower was gross. The sink had mold in it. Otherwise, the room was comfy and the location was great. Parking price was a bit excessive especially after the cost of the hotel itself. The staff at the bar were super kind and friendly! Although the few people I interacted with at the front desk....not so much. The lady did not seem to care when I made her aware of the black mold. She said she would send someone up to look before we went to dinner. After dinner, it was still there. So even the people in the artwork could notice the frustration in my eyes. She said they were busy so I asked for a different room and all the sudden someone was able to go check it out. Waited for about 30-40 minutes in lobby before she sent someone. The man that checked us out had no personality either. Overall, I would love to come back but would like them to acknowledge this and do better. People pay for a clean space. read more

I checked in for a 1-night stay. The toilet ran continuously after a flush (until I'd take the lid off to fix it) and there was loud construction going on in the room next door. I went to the front desk and asked that the toilet be fixed that evening while I was out. I came back after dinner and the toilet still didn't work. I also noted a great deal of mildew and mold in the sink and the shower grout. When I checked out the next morning I asked to speak to a manager, none was there. I got the card of a manager and wrote her that day explaining precisely what the problems were. No reply. Four days later I followed up with that manager. No reply. Two days later, I wrote to the General Manager of the hotel forwarding my (unanswered) emails to his colleague. Later that day, the first manager finally replied and provided a partial credit of the room rate. Toilets break and problems happen, but when the front desk doesn't fix the problem or communicate about it, and when a manager doesn't respond to multiple emails and it takes an email to the GM to finally get a reply, that's unacceptable in my book. It's a nice enough place (if you like the industrial chic look) and the restaurant is good, but no way I'd stay there again seeing how they handled things. Really poor experience. read more

My stay here was very brief (1 night). I was in the area for the work conference. Location - In the downtown Phoenix area. It's quite a busy area. Food - I got a $25 credit to use at the hotel restaurant/cafe. We were told that this credit is only applied if you use more than $25. We also had a section of the patio reserved with food. The pasta was just ok. The "seasonal vegetables" was steamed broccoli. The egg rolls, garlic bread, and tiramisu were my favorites. There is happy hour, so I got myself a refreshing beer which was recommended by a really kind bartender. Rooms - The rooms have concrete floors with a very industrial vibe. It was a very unique design. I liked everything about the room except the fact that I can hear every single sound -- people walking above me, people using the bathroom (yes, for real), people talking, phone alarms... I couldn't get good rest because of the amount of times I woke up to every little noise. The hotel itself is very nice with a lot of art work. read more

I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. Very artsy and hip. The bar has a good list of specialty drinks. They also have a breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner menu. The rooms are modern and lofty and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had a spacious shower that boasts a sink that extends from the bathroom to the room area. I'd definitely check this hotel out if you are in town and need a place to stay. There is self and valet parking. Depending on when you check-in you may have to get valet. It is downtown so maneuvering could be a task. There are paintings and an art gallery where you can actually purchase the art - just ask reception for help with purchasing. read more
