Clean, comfortable hotel in a great location. Stayed one night to catch a Yankee game, Chase field is a 15 minute walk. Only minor downside was water pressure and sink water came out weak and sprayed kinda funny. Staff and free breakfast were decent. The bottled water in the rooms are a little pricey if you aren't a high enough Hyatt member, better off taking a walk to a grocery store to get it better and cheaper water. A little disappointed in that since you're in such a hot climate charging $3 for a small bottle. read more

I stayed at Hyatt Place while attending a conference in downtown Phoenix. The lobby and rooms were spacious and clean. In the room, I liked how there is a "sectioned off" area with couches. I appreciated how the long mirror and walls had several hangers which were really convenient. There was a water and ice machine on my floor but it was sadly out of service. Rooms are cleaned every other day by default. The only downside to my experience is that they only do check ins after 4pm. I was placed on a waitlist to see if I could check in earlier but it didn't really make a difference. I don't think I've been at other hotels with these policies before and I would have reconsidered my hotel options had I have know earlier. They do have a bag check service. There is valet parking for sure and I believe there may be self parking as well. The lobby has several computers and several couches/tables as well as restaurant/mini store area. read more

Was able to stay here for 3 nights and it is a very nice and modern hotel. There is no pool which I didn't find out until I was already checked in. Parking is scarce but the hotel offers valet for an additional fee, or you can park in self parking for around $34/nights. Clean rooms and you are responsible to request room service. There is a little snack area that is 24/7 which is adjacent to the front desk. The staff was friendly and helpful. read more

The property feels pretty new and well maintained in terms of the grounds of the cleanliness. The front desk is expedient and nice. The breakfast selection is great as well. There is fresh eggs, bacon, spinach egg bites, juice, coffee, pastries, yogurt, and toasts. Unfortunately, where things fall short of the delivery on this visit is the lateness of the breakfast opening. The time on listed in check-in is 630am, and it was opened late. At opening time the staff is just scrolling through their phones instead of getting the breakfast area for opening. It's totally understandable that things run behind. However, when things are late but staff on duty is standing around just scrolling is a bit perplexing. Be aware as well that parking is $44. Overall a good stay, but definitely has areas for improvement to make the experience better. read more

The hotel is clean and decorated very nicely! The bad: because we were only staying two nights, housekeeping was not available. Didn't realize we were still practicing COVID 19 protocol. We do weekend trips all the time and always have our room cleaned without asking. Staff didn't seem thrilled to be there, very low energy. Lots of unhoused people in the surrounding area (this is downtown) and self parking is down the street. Not sure I'd stay here again especially with other hotels in the area. If you want to feel like you are in the set of Fast & the Furious then downtown is for you. Loud cars reeving engines at 2am. People cheering. People talking in the halls. This is your place. Staff was ok. Restaurant food was ok, nothing else was open after the show that got out at 9. Parking at the hotel is $45 a day or good luck finding one on the street for $30. Was in Phoenix for a conference and snagged a good price at hyatt place. It's important to remember this is not a grand Hyatt or hyatt regency. With that being said, this is a solid option at a good price point. Rooms are spacious and clean. Location is convenient. A solid choice hotel when stopping in PHX. I have stayed at each of the Hyatt's but in splitting hairs, I prefer this location. Staff is consistently welcoming and friendly, hotel and rooms always clean, price point in comparison to other name brands - excellent. This specific review is prompted by a single act of customer service that I want to highlight. Woke up this morning and noticed Comedian Jeffrey Ross was playing at Stand Up Live around the corner, grabbed a room, locked a dinner reservation, and was set. A few hours later, email announced the shows all weekend - CANX. I was within the 72 hours cancellation window and I phoned the Hyatt. This is where Mary C. at the front desk comes in...not only did she offer an exception to the cancellation penalty, however she also genuinely cared that our weekend plans had fallen apart. Mary was gracious, friendly and I hung up feeling like a valued Hyatt Customer. If Mr. Hyatt Robert von Dehn were with us today, he would be proud of how Mary was representing his brand. Stayed here this weekend for a cheer competition. Very clean, curious staff, great amenities. I will say, the rooms were right. Perfect for 2 people but not 3 or 4. We are two adults with two small children and felt the space was narrow and tight. The free breakfast is a waste of time. Just grub hub or something. It was a mess. Was in Phoenix for the STL Cards weekend series and after searching for hotels close to the ballpark ended up at the Hyatt Place. Driving in from Vegas I chose to valet my car. That process at the beginning was a little odd as the valet didnt necessarily seem like he wanted my car. Valet is $40 a night vs the self garage which is fairly close at $30, but I was beat after the drive. Ended up though getting it valeted and checked in. The lobby is clean and nice. The vibe is that of a business travelers hotel. Areas to sit and work, a little area to purchase snacks, a restaurant, gym etc.... The room was very nice. Great large bed, good size tv with chromecast, good sizes bathroom, fridge, and sofa. Perhaps I felt like they almost tried to cram too much in the room, but still very nice. Staff overall was friendly outside of my initial awkwardness with valet. Location is less than a 5 min walk from cityscape which has a comedy venue, retaurants, bowling alley... and less than a 15 min walk to Chase Field and the Basketball arena. Also there is a free continental breakfast which was fine. It is perfect for someone grabbing a quick bite before a meeting or to start a busy day. For the area and cost I believe it would be hard to find a better value. I certainly would stay here again. read more

Stayed here recently on a business trip. The biggest complain I have is the valet service is very slow. We stayed here for 3 days and on all 3 days we had to wait for at least 5 mins before the valet was available to take our cars and at least 10 mins for them to retrieve the car. The rooms feels a little crampy, small walking space between the bed and the tables. And last but not least, when we were checking out , I was trying to give feedback to the person at the front desk about the slow service of the valet and she started arguing with me. When I tried to tell her, she should not argue with me as I am just giving feedback, she walk away from the counter. Could not believe it. read more

They were busy but there needs to be an option to leave your car easily especially when you are paying for valet. Desk staff were nice, but seemed very new to their positions. Some of the typical steps in check in were overlooked: stating where room and where elevators were located. Instructions to find parking garage were missing key details to locate the entry in a timely manner. Room appeared clean, but upon further inspection it was found that a filthy and stained coverlet was not replaced, but simply hidden by clean(er) sheets and rotated so the staining was hidden by the foot of the bed. When this was politely brought to the front desk's attention at check out the young lady responded "I'm sorry. We will make sure that is taken care of for the next guest". No accommodation was being made for our experience. Also, we were double charged for parking: by Hyatt front desk and from parking garage. We followed instructions on how to park and even exited the premises before check out time. When called about this double billing Hyatt staff were responsive and removed their charge to my card. Beyond the reimbursement, no efforts have been made to rectify any inconvenience or lack of quality to justify the cost of my stay. I would not recommend staying here at this time, nor do I plan on making this location my first choice in future visits to Phoenix. read more

This hotel was located right downtown about a block from the Arizona Financial Theater where we were seeing a concert. We checked in about 1.5 hours early which was very nice and paid for $32 self parking. I know a lot of reviews complained about the parking situation but it really wasn't that bad. It was a black east on the south side of the street. The clearance of 6'9" seemed like a stretch though as our pickup is 6'6" and it was right up against some of the pipes on the ceiling. The room itself was a bit subpar with a very small pull out couch. There was also a dead cockroach on the floor by the window. The bed itself was comfortable but you can hear everything in the halls and outside. We've stayed at the Hyatt regency a few blocks east several times before and it is much better. read more

Hubs, kiddo and I stayed here for 5 nights in June for her sports tournament at the convention center. The funny thing is, hubs didn't realize that there were two "Hyatt" hotels nearby each other and thought this was the Hyatt Regency right across from the CC. This Hyatt Place is about three blocks away. Unfortunately, when hubs booked the room, it was already full for the dates that we wanted so we had to stay in one room with a king bed the first night, and then transfer to a room with two queen beds for the rest of the stay. The rooms luckily had a small sitting area (sofa and coffee table/ottoman) so the first night, hubs slept on the sofa...all 3 of us could've slept on the king, but we all move around when sleeping so it was a no-go. This made for a difficult stay the first night as my kid had an early game at the CC next day (and obviously, sleeping on the sofa wasn't comfortable). We ended up having to pay extra for a late checkout (normal checkout 11:00a, late checkout 1:00p), and then pray that our next room will be available early enough to do an early checkin (normal checkin time is 4:00p). We ended up having to miss some of our kiddo's game trying to pack up and find a cart (which was hard to find for the longest time). Luckily, our next room was ready by the time our kiddo's game ended so we were able to do an early checkin (again for a fee) and relax in the same room until our last night. Of course, this part wasn't so much the hotel's fault, it's just how things happened, but it definitely added stress to our experience here. Like many have mentioned, their self parking is elsewhere (website says the Chase garage adjacent to the street from the hotel, but I never got to figure out exactly where that is), and requires an overnight parking pass daily from the hotel's front desk, which is $30. Valet is $40, which we ended up doing, but it took time trying to get our car ready every time so I don't know which was better. The rooms were nice, clean and spacious looking but narrow, so passing by the foot of the bed(s) with 2 people crossing each other was inconvenient, unless one crossed over the bed(s). Toilet paper was super thin and hard to use, but I guess that's how cheap hotels have become (i.e., Las Vegas strip hotels). The king bedroom we were in only had a shower stall, and the two queen bedroom had a tub with a shower curtain. The feature that we all liked was the little sitting area. Other hotels don't have that so it's nice to be able to sit and eat or read there instead of on the bed. read more

The rooms are very nice. Roomy, clean, modernized, & I like the separate seating area they provide. The floor plan is accommodating & provides a lot of useful space. The food at their restaurant is fun & tastey with twists on the regular bar food. I took away a star because it was difficult to figure out how to pull up for check in. Plus, the valet service was nothing more than some dude just to hand your keys to. There was no "service" involved. You literally have to just pull in and actively engage them to get any attention at all. Your option is a parking garage, then schlepping your bags to the hotel or paying an extra $7 a day for front door access. Would I recommend it? Ya, but is there room for improvement, ya. First off unless you have business near this hotel I don't know why you would stay here. We arrived early and when we asked about things to do close by the gal told us to go to Scottsdale, which we did. The front desk staff is not friendly. We had some hits and some misses. Hit: gal got us our key from valet who was absent. Miss: different gal being rude to my husband. His take on the staff here was "they were too busy for us." I would tend to agree. The valet is $40 a day. $30 self park a block away. Valet is cool, however they put our super expensive rental car on the street ALL NIGHT. why? It had rain on it - it wasn't raining when we got back the day before and it was apparent the car sat. Thankfully nothing happened to it but I have never had valet preemptively move my car before. The room was clean enough. I did find a long black hair in the bed, we don't have long hair. TP is one ply- really cheap one ply. The restaurant on site Adams table ? Is fine. We had a salad and club sandwich one night. All in all I don't think it's a value. Room+ parking you're over $200 a night- and there's nothing to do in the area . Hard pass. read more

The price point is perfect and the hotel is very clean (I'm sure the best in the area). the housekeeper's seem to do a really good job so that's a good thing. The hotel is fairly new and still has that new smell. My stay here was comfortable and I felt clean in the room and safe as I walked around town. I will definitely be staying here next time in Arizona. I'm so happy I picked this location over staying in Scottsdale. Hope you have a great experience as well. DON'T VALET YOUR CAR HERE. The valet at the Hyatt crashed my car a cement pillar in the parking garage causing over $20,000 of damage. Sounds crazy, I know, but you saw Ferris Bueller's Day Off, right? One valet employee even joked with me saying they all took turns driving a customer's Porsche. I just checked in today, but such a great property. Based on other reviews this location is on the newer side but the staff functions flawlessly. There's a restaurant attached with a full bar. Valley parking. The gym, is small but enough to move your body- free weights, kettlebells, elliptical, treadmills, and a peloton (if that's your thing it's shoe cages not clipped in). Everything is clean and the staff is extremely friendly & helpful. I'll be back next time I'm in Phoenix. read more

This hotel had everything we needed--a comfy room for two people. I love the sitting area. We like how the space was utilized. Very clean and modern. The gym is well equipped. We were within walking distance of many good restaurants and bars. For a Wednesday night, it was just enough people out. The hotel lobby is comfortable and inviting. The staff is very accommodating, from the person at the bar and front desk. Our flight didn't leave for a while, and I could hold my bag at the desk. This location is very convenient for us, visiting ASU, and far exceeded expectations. read more

The hotel was decent, but a few things were irritating. 1) There were pubes in the shower (ewwww) 2) The elevator was slow AF 3) The restaurant gave me food poisening which caused me to have to change my flight ($$) and extend our stay for 1 day ($$$) due to me throwing up for 24 hours straight. 3 stars because the room was large for the amount of money I paid and the bed was super comfy. read more

Nice place in Downtown Phoenix to stay! First time being there, in town for the USC Football game back in November. The rooms are very nice and the staff are friendly and helpful. The only issue is that you have valet parking which is expensive or finding parking on the street which spots are hard to find.
