Bad all around. First, there is supposed to be parking, which you assume is free. However, once you get there they inform you it is $30 and that parking isn't actually on site but a few blocks away. This is legit false advertising. This is pretty crazy because based on this logic literally every building has parking as long as you can pay for a garage somewhere else. Anyways, terrible service as well. The front desk even gave me wrong directions to this garage and I had to go back and get directions from the valet. Once I parked I had to drag all my luggage multiple blocks to the hotel. Also, I was supposed to get a room with city views. This was part of why I chose this hotel that costed more than others in the area. They put me on the third floor, with a view of the street and a cement building across the street. I was so excited to see that they had Starbucks at their location. When I went to order, they didn't have anything I wanted. I went to valet counter. Waited 10 minutes for someone to get my car ticket. Front desk told me to call 0 for my car. Went up to my room, dialed 0 only to get a hold of the front desk again. They told me 10-15 minutes to get my car. I went downstairs 10 minutes later only to find out they didn't tell the valet to get my car! Valet kids were outside doing nothing but staring at their phones. Was so upset. The hotel was clean though. But staff and customer service need a lot of improvement. read more

I never write negative reviews but felt I needed to this time. Do not confuse this hotel with the Hyatt Regency! It is called Hyatt Place. Tax, fees and parking took our bill an extra $100.00 more than expected. There was no bellman and we had to roll our own bellman cart with all of our luggage. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay at Hyatt Place downtown Phoenix. This hotel just opened a few weeks ago and everything is very clean, fresh and well done. The rooms have very comfy bedding. The spacious lobby has comfortable seating and computers if you need to check email or plug in for a bit. There are also snacks, coffee or drinks available to purchase. We loved the patio which had misters so even a hotter day was comfortable. Breakfast was included with our stay and it was good - hot foods as well as fruit, yogurts, cereals - better than most hotel breakfasts. The hotel and restaurant staff were very friendly, attentive and accommodating. The location is great - an easy Uber ride or light rail to the airport or places to visit. We stayed there prior to a trip to Sedona but plan to return to see more of Phoenix. Highly recommend this hotel for comfort and quality! read more

Made my reservation through Expedia. We had even called before hand to let them know what time we were gonna be in. Went to the front desk to check in, they said they couldn't get ahold of my reservation and couldn't check me in. I showed them receipt, payment cards, everything. They refused and made me get another nights stay at the hotel. So got 1 night for the price of 2 within first five minutes of being there. Come to find out they don't have a microwave anywhere in the hotel besides their break room. It was 4 am so we couldn't make any of the food we brought and it was too late to go out and get something. Bryan did absolutely nothing to help us. Just wandered around shaking his head instead of doing anything for us. Didn't offer to comp anything for us and made out stay terrible. FUCK THIS PLACE. They don't give a shit about you and they'll take your money. You would think there maybe would be a fucking microwave in the lobby. Stayed at a sketchy motel in Wendover, Utah and they even had a fucking microwave. read more

Nice hotel, great location. Front desk staff, not so much - at least the person who checked me in. I checked in online in the morning, and as an Explorist, got the message - "good news, you've been upgraded!" At front desk check in, I was not welcomed as an Explorist. The agent checked my id and credit card. Asked how many keys, and I asked where my room is. He said on the 2nd floor. The hotel has 8 stories. I said, as an Explorist, with high floor in my profile, I've never stayed on the 2nd floor of an 8 floor Hyatt. I also noted, that when I checked in online, I was informed digitally, that I've been upgraded. He said, there's nothing here about any upgrade, and he repeated that 3 times. I said, I'm not expecting a suite, but certainly not expecting to be put on the 2nd floor. He replied - I know what an upgrade is! Very arrogant and quite argumentative! NOT front desk material! Eventually, I was given a room on the 7th floor - begrudgingly. Would like to stay here again, but not if rude front desk agents are the norm at this Hyatt. read more

Nice decent place to stay. No pool. Simple gym. Skinny rooms. Breakfast good but generally the same every day no bacon ever. Limited maid service, skimpy with shampoo etc (had to call). What I wanted in review and did not find was detailed parking options. We didn't want expensive valet. What parking garages are available downtown for what price and which have in and out privileges and which don't close at night/allow cars overnight is a hidden secret probably on purpose. Couldn't find it anywhere. Self parking through the hotel is only a block away and not bad once you figure it out. A little tricky the first time. And with the current construction there is sometimes traffic. It is $30 vs $40 valet. I also wanted to know about getting to convention center without melting. Stayed here over the weekend. I was a little skeptical because I didn't see any reviews. Upon arriving Friday night, the young man working valet was really nice and welcoming. He informed us the hotel had just opened so it was new. I did not get the name of the young lady at the front desk who checked us in but she was super sweet and explained all the amenities that the hotel offered. Hotel was really clean and we really liked the modern look of the room. I wish we would have had a nicer view however I booked super last minute , so that was on me! Excellent, clean hotel! Very kid friendly. This hotel went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I and our kids felt welcome. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant downstairs had great food and was reasonably priced. For those who are chemical or mold sensitive, we had zero issues with chemicals or mold and felt great here. I will definitely Stay here again and will highly recommend to others when looking for a hotel downtown. It just had a homey, warm, clean feel. read more

I reserved 4 nights for my daughter and I here at the downtown pheonix hyatt, costing about $174 a night discounted. We were attending a sports event and traveled from California, approximately 6 hrs driving distance. There was no public parking other than 2 hr time frames for which ever meters were available. $40 a night for vallet parking, $30 for self parking but super sketchy. When I arrived in the hotel, it was super basic. There was mini fridge and when I say mini I mean mini. They had to send maintenance to fix it because the fan was broken. The bedding didn't smell clean, rather than as if a smoker stayed in the room prior. The floor was dirty, I know because I seen chip crumbles by our bed and wheb i had to wipe something off the floor, it was blk. When going in the bathroom it was nice however, no bathtub. They had refillable shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash. Although I bring my own products, i noticed the body wash was completely empty. You're not able to pick where you want to stay, they pick for you and our view was literally the trash cans and skidrow. About 4:30 every morning we were awaken by dumpster cans while having to be up at 6 am. There was one paticular vallet host who was extremely rude to me and bothered for no reason. When I left my car, I had only used a quarter of my tank and when i recieved my car, i only had half of a tank. I went downstairs to Adam's restaurant to order a Hennessey and coke and was charged $30. I politely told the bartender that was extremely over priced, he charged me $20 but while there In the city I never paid more than $12 for a mixed drink. It was as if having a drink at their bar was a bothersome and I felt unwelcomed . There was free breakfast but unfortunately nothing tasted near decent and I'm being completely honest. My daughter and I stuck to the fruit and yogurt. I was craving bacon along with 30+ people and they made us wait 15 minutes after breakfast was already served, most of us parents didnt have time to wait seeing as we had our kids in tournaments beginning as early as 7:15 a.m. I was also double charged for vallet, for some reason they thought I had two cars for vallet so luckily I noticed and it was adjusted. Many people who attend this area are well off and came off super snooty unfortunately. I hope others really reconsider staying at this hotel and have a better experience while feeling welcomed and at the same time paying a better price.
