I arrived at noon on a Friday after driving in from Las Vegas, and Dylan at the front desk set the tone immediately. Before I could even ask, he let me know there were no suite upgrades available but offered me a King Premium and got me checked in on the spot. As a solo traveler who had just made that drive, being able to walk straight to a room and crash was everything. He took a few minutes to catch me up on what had changed since my last stay; the breakfast situation being the highlight of that conversation, which turned out to be... relevant. The next morning, after a rough experience at breakfast, I mentioned something at the front desk and Donna, the front-end manager, stepped in immediately, not defensively, but genuinely wanting to understand what happened and make it right. That kind of accountability is rare. Saturday night brought a similar hiccup at the bar, and Sayan handled it the same way: professionally, without hesitation. The room was exactly what I've come to expect from Kimpton, clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. But the real story here is the staff outside the restaurant. Dylan, Donna, Sayan, these are hospitality professionals who actually care, and it shows. The hotel itself earns every star. read more

This hotel is located in downtown Phoenix. I attended an affair here. I can't speak for the rooms. I can however tell you that staff are great here. They are personable, helpful and kind. The room and area we used were spacious with tables and chairs to accommodate the crowd. Servers were busy with food replacement. Drink servers kept on top of those needing a beverage. The restaurant will validate for 2 free hours of parking. Parking is conveniently located to the hotel. If you prefer, there is also a parking lot across the street. read more

I've stayed here several times since it opened, and this most recent visit absolutely reminded me why I keep coming back. I was celebrating a milestone birthday and hoped for a special experience -- and this stay exceeded every expectation. After booking, I reached out through the "talk to us" email and immediately connected with Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants team member Donna. She matched my excitement right away and genuinely cared about making my birthday celebration memorable. Her thoughtful touches, warm communication, and generosity turned a great stay into a truly exceptional one. That level of personal hospitality is rare and deeply appreciated. The suites here are fantastic -- spacious, updated, and incredibly comfortable. I've previously stayed in the Presidential Suite and this time enjoyed the Arena Suite. The floor-to-ceiling windows are stunning, with beautiful mountain views plus amazing sunrises and sunsets. The decor feels modern yet inviting, with cozy nooks perfect for relaxing. The soaking tubs are always a highlight for me, and the double bathrooms make the space feel extra luxurious. Loved this suite. The location is another huge plus -- convenient to the airport, downtown, arenas, events, and major highways. Parking is refreshingly easy for the city, with both valet and self-park options. Conrad at valet was especially kind and professional, and Jessica at the front desk was friendly, welcoming, and informative -- both made a great impression. Amenities here really elevate the stay too. The outdoor pool is a great place to relax, and having the poolside bar Eden makes it feel like a mini getaway without leaving the hotel. Having Bluehound inside the hotel is another bonus -- great cocktails, good food, and a lively atmosphere (I'd just love to see a few more vegan options). The only small drawback is that the windows could definitely use better soundproofing. Being in a lively downtown area means you may hear nightlife, sirens, or general city noise. It didn't ruin my stay at all, but improved windows would easily make this place flawless. Overall, this visit was truly five-star from start to finish. Solid pet friendly hotel in a central location, no pet fees. However, no pet relief area. There is a dog park 2 blocks down (about 8 minute walk) with grass. Also some gravel areas nearby but just be careful of broken glass and dog poop. The city streets aren't the cleanest. Hotel was clean and quiet. Self park is $30 ish with in and out privileges. Note that if you ask for late check out, you'll end up paying extra because they don't give you extra time for self parking. read more

The rooms are spacious and the bathroom was so nice!! We got to enjoy the pool and the gym (complimentary passes to EOS). The best part about the hotel is their location was perfect. The Sun's arena is literally foot steps away. You literally don't have to worry about food because there's so many good food and bar options within walking distance. Paid for day passes to the pool. The bar service at the pool is practically none existent. Horrible bar staff! Had to ask for a server multiple times but still nobody came. Had to ask a manager, who told his staff we needed a server and showed them who we were so they knew. Still never got a server. We even tried to stop a waitress so ask if she could take our order to which she replied, "I'm off right now but I'll have someone come get your order". She then proceed to still serve and work for 30 minutes and still nobody came to serve us. I would understand if the pool was busy but it was NOT. I'm very disappointed as I had seen some great reviews but the reality of this place fell very short. Unfortunately, my first experience was bad enough to make me never want to come back. read more

My go to hotel if I am ever traveling to PHX Arena for a WNBa game. Cannot beat location. Central to everything downtown and right across the arena. The staff is always friendly and efficient. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Options to eat/drink at the hotel with good food and beverages. They also have a happy hour with a complimentary beverage. Pool is decent size and half of it gets in the shade if it's too hot. There are some cabana style seats that are first come first serve. We did need parking one time and decided to self park. I don't think we found the easiest way to get to the garage, but that's on us. We ended up walking around the corner instead of asking for directions. read more

Dylan the front desk person was fantastic, I was tired from traveling and he was patient with my requests. I didnt know where to park initially so circled the block and its down cityscape and get the ticket and trade it with Dylan to get a car tag. The Blue Hound restaurant was nice one of the guys reminded me of Diplo. The gym across the courtyard is on 2 and easy to use with the pass and has snacks for sale. Theres shops and a breakfast place out there too. The pool and cabinas are on the 3rd floor. The room itself was nice and clean. read more

The guys at the front desk were really nice and gave us a free room upgrade and $30 dinner credit because our room wasn't quite ready when we showed up for check in. He made sure everything was accurate. The room was very nice as well. Clean, well stocked, and everything worked. The room appeared modern and the view can't be beat. I would have liked to had tried the dinner at the hotel restaurant but they had a private events going on and looked super busy. I was able to get breakfast there and it was solid. Was ignored at the bar for over 15 min as everyone around me was served - upon tracking a server down, I asked if I should order from the bar and he curtly said "yup". Finally got bartender's attention, ordered an overpriced salad $20+ $16 to add grilled salmon. Salmon was delicious- salad swimming limply in dressing. Side of fries and sorbet only appeared after server was nudged. She kindly removed them from my bill but the experience was v disappointing for a high end hotel. Pool and bar had great vibes but staff cared more about folding napkins and talking to each other than providing great service. read more

Best pet amenities and policies ever -- we always try to stay at a Kimpton if there's one on our route. They even give you an info card for dog friendly restaurants and activities + best paths for a walk. If you forget something, chances are they gottt you! Huge list of items you can get from the front desk if you're in a pinch. We were in a Deluxe King room which had a great, spacious couch for our big fella. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable (as with all their properties we've visited) and the rooms are always clean + well stocked + always have fun little amenity or decor touches. Stayed one night at Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix for an event downtown, and it was a fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in, the hotel had an amazing scent that set a welcoming tone. Our king room on the north end had great views of downtown Phoenix, making the stay even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was Eden, the rooftop bar on the 3rd floor--stunning city views, delicious cocktails, and a great atmosphere. Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails at the bar downstairs also had fantastic drinks and a great vibe. A unique perk of this hotel is the free happy hour from 5-6 PM with complimentary flatbread and wine--such a nice touch! Plus, the location is perfect, within walking distance of some of the best spots Phoenix has to offer. Would definitely stay here again! read more

The hotel was beautiful but this particular Kimpton had a few misses, but also quite a few good things too. The lobby and 2nd floor area where they served coffee and evening wine/cocktails was excellent. There were plenty of options for eating/drinking close by too. It was also convenient to the arena and Chase Field where I caught a baseball game. The pillows were the absolute WORST pillows I have ever had at any hotel, and I've stayed in some dumps! It was terrible. Stacking 2 kind of helped but I had to switch pillows multiple times throughout the night and didn't get a good nights sleep. I've been at Super 8 hotels with better pillows! For Shame, Kimpton! The electrical outlets by the bed (in the lamp) were convenient, but they were loose AF. Trying to keep my charger plugged in was difficult. I ended up charging most of my stuff at the desk area (which worked fine), but sucked for alarm time (who wants to walk across the room to snooze the alarm). Also, my mini bar wasn't full when I checked. It was unlocked. I took pics and the front desk just texted me to ask how the room was. I let them know and sent the pics. I told them I'd let them know what I took to eat/drink. The staff handled that situation wonderfully so I didn't have to pay for the missing items, however, I shouldn't have had to worry about it to begin with. Also, the one item I would have wanted (Peanut M&Ms) was missing. Grrrrrr. The staff is what kept this from being a 1 (maybe 2) star review. They were super friendly and accommodating during the stay. There wasn't much they could do about the plugs, but the rest was handled great. This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are big and spacious. The location is perfect. If you are attending any downtown events, there's lots of restaurants around it and within the premises. I really like that they give you a pass to EOS fitness center. The pool area is nice as well and the staff from Chechin housekeeping bartenders were all great. We had a FANTASTIC time and couldn't have asked for a more convenient location!! With a less than 5 minute walk to Phx Arena it was perfect for our show, we couldn't have parked closer! The team at the Palomar went above and beyond to make our staycation so relaxing and memorable! Dylan and Angelica at the front desk were so wonderful! We used the password we found out about through TikTok when checking in and Dylan surprised us with a wonderful welcome package to enjoy in our beautiful suite! The room was lovely!! Clean and well decorated, with a HUGE in shower bathtub we took advantage of the next morning. The room was perfect! The staff even accommodated our request to be located near our friends staying there the same evening with an advance call to the Kimpton a few weeks before our stay. Although we didn't use the pool the other amenities were so convenient. I love that they offer bicycles for exploring the area, fruit infused water stations and a coffee setup in the morning that offered iced coffee and a variety of creamer options including oat milk. Hands down the best customer service experience we've received at a hotel, the onsite staff as well as the customer service person I spoke with a few weeks prior to our stay were top notch and provided an experience worth every dollar spent! I have never stayed here but the Phoenix Mercury always uses the ballroom at this hotel for our X-Factor annual "kickoff the season" party. The hotel is spotless, the staff is accommodating and the elevators are cool. The audio and visual displays are a bit challenging but they always work...LOL!! I believe the food is catered it is always good although the variety is a bit average. If I ever plan on having a staycation destination this hotel will be on my short list. My stay at the Kempton and downtown Phoenix for two nights has been phenomenal. Everyone is so friendly, working care, and I cannot get over all of the awesome amenities that this hotel has to offer. The rooms are clean, the hallways, the rooms next door and the floor above was quiet during our stay. I can't tell you how many bad nights sleep I've had at hotels because of noisy neighbors.. I was thrilled to sleep well while staying at the Kimpton! If you want a little bit of fresh greenery in your room, they will bring a plant to your room for you, they have yoga mats, and every single room And will come let you borrow a yoga DVD so you can do yoga in your room privately. They have bikes that you can borrow so you can go explore the city, there's a social hour at night, offering free wine and alcohol with small bites, and even a coffee and tea social hour in the morning. Over the years, I have stayed at nearly all of the hotels in downtown Phoenix, and I must say this has been the best experience that I've had. We will be staying here going forward for our downtown Phoenix staycations. read more

This hotel so worth every star. Hospitality was to the nines. I received daily text to ask if I had any questions or needed anything. Daily infused water stations on 1 & 2 floor. Daily social hour...I was very happy they had soda for non alcoholic options. Daily was a coffee bar so I could grab a drink on my way out. The pool and DJ were excellent, loved the Saturday Dj. My view was a parking lot but the proximity to the baseball field or basketball games and amazing restaurants was perfect. I used the fitness center and it was easy and amazing. I enjoy the Kimpton brand of IHG hotels so was looking forward to it when I found out we were staying here for a corporate trip. This location is centrally located to a lot of eateries and shops within walking distance and only a 10-15 minute Uber drive from the Phoenix airport! There is a CVS within 5 minutes if you want to get snacks, water, etc. without paying an arm and a leg at the hotel. The hotel itself is nice and modern looking, and they offer rotating things on the 2nd floor - coffee and tea in the morning, and wine & hors d'oeuvres at 5pm. The room was clean and spacious, and the shower pressure felt awesome. They don't have a gym in the hotel itself, but all guests have full access to EOS gym which is right outside their double doors on the 2nd floor and right next to the hotel (you don't even have to cross the street). This is a full on gym better than any hotel gym. I didn't get a chance to use it, but all you need to do is bring your key card and sign in on a paper log to get access to the gym. How have I never left a review for one of my favorite hotels downtown? I have stayed at this hotel for the past seven years on my birthday and I have not left a review? I always have a great time. The service is incredible. Customer service is incredible. Everyone is on top of their game! I feel like the atmosphere is great for the downtown vibe. I have stayed at several hotels surrounding this one specifically, and none of them compare to Kimpton! The main reason we stay here every Christmas is because around my birthday on December 13 I like to be right next to the Christmas tree overlooking CityScape from my hotel room at the Kimpton! I am pretty sure I have left a review quite a couple reviews but they're not showing up under their account so maybe they're old or they got renewed I am not sure but I know I have left reviews for this great hotel. So today I guess I will do a photo dump of every year we've come here. I think I still have them all because it's so much fun and it's my favorite hotel for Christmas because I can see the Christmas tree from my hotel room every night and I love it it's my favorite for my birthday month.! read more

Our 5th floor room overlooked the rooftop bar. Excessively loud EDM pumped all night. I went to the front desk to speak with the night manager who attempted to ignore me while I waited for him to complete a call from another guest complaining about the loud music. He avoided eye contact and shunted me off to service a larger group. The other clerk offered to change my room, but added in an upcharge for a higher floor. I was flabbergasted to be upcharged when it was the hotel's fault that the room we had was rendered unhabitable due to loud music. After I'd obtained the new room, the night manager said there was nothing he could do but the DJ would turn the music down at midnight. It was 9:45 pm and we had just flown cross-country and were ready to unwind. The night manager then condescendingly asked what I'd expected from a downtown hotel noisewise? I informed him that I was from NYC and knew when a room was too loud. Moreover, we brought our dog with us as we've stayed at Kimpton properties before and knew them to be pet-friendly. Other than two water bowls in the lobby, there were no concessions or facilities for pets. The hotel is in the middle of a concrete jungle with no relief areas for pets. A cleansable strip of astroturf would have been nice. Otherwise, the breakfast at Blue Hound was very good, but I will certainly stay elsewhere next visit to the Valley of the Sun. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about this hotel. It was literally right across the street from the concert we were going to, so you couldn't beat the convenience. It is surrounded by plenty of restaurants and bars which is great. The room and hotel itself is clean and super nice especially for how reasonably priced it is. We took advantage of the rooftop pool, although it is small, it is a vibe! The hotel also had complimentary wine tasting and bikes to ride around! We loved our stay here for a long weekend in Phoenix! It is perfect if you plan to hike in south Phoenix and go eat and drink north of the hotel by Roosevelt Row. The rooms were immaculate, the coffee and daily free happy hour were easy to access on the second floor, and I liked that they always had water dispensers on the first and second floor so I could fill up my water bottle before leaving. The staff were all very friendly and it was a wonderful stay. There was even a yoga mat in our room that I used to stretch after our hike! The pillows were the only downside, very flat and not much support, but I'm sure we could have asked for more or to swap them out if we had remembered. 11-23-22/11-26-22 In my experience I favor Kimpton hotels lately. They are a chain but smaller and part boutique. It is a winning combination. We successfully stayed at one on Savannah so we booked here. The rate was incredibly low. The reasoning must be as it is in Downtown but Thanksgiving so no one in town for a game or business. The only confusion was where to get in or park unfortunately the directions got us into a parking garage that had us walking a bit with suitcases in the cold. I truly rather valet. Once inside the front desk was wonderful. Even texted to ask if we needed anything which is a nice touch. I should have investigated further as the next morning we searched a coffee shop in Downtown when we could have just stayed here. You live and learn. The complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby was terrific and special. My husband has a morning ritual so it is many cups until we get going. Therefore gave me time to go to the market in walking distance for those last minute items for Thanksgiving dinner. When we got back that night we valeted the rest of our stay. The room was modern in decor and very comfortable. I would gladly stay here next time we come to Phoenix to see my In Law's. read more
