After one week here, I would say it was a great stay! Some things they can make slight adjustments to are by having a blackout curtain because sunrise is at 5:30am and Lord have mercy it was annoying to try to block the sun as the curtains didn't do it well. They also need to mop the floor prior to each stay. Other than that, the stay was great and I would stay again. Customer service, safety and convenience are essential and that, I received. Prior to arrival, I had a package delivered and they kept it safe and even asked for ID prior to getting it. That was great (thanks Darren). Charles was PHENOMENAL as was Nala. Trust any food recommendations they provide. They don't miss. The city is walkable but it's hot so stay hydrated. Other staff who were great were, Bella, Andhika and Jaylin (housekeeper). AC Hotel... Had no idea this was a Marriott and love it! I booked through my event site, which is great because it automatically applied the event price. Room: I booked a single occupancy room, but ended up getting a room with double beds. When I tried to correct it, I found that it was almost impossible to do so. There were too many bookings which meant I would've been shuffled around, which would not have been comfy. Another interesting thing is when I inquired to the front desk about it, they seemed a little confused at the question and didn't really have answers, except that a one bed room would mean playing musical rooms and would cost me more. Moral of the story: read the fine print. It says Single Occupancy, but that could mean double beds. Because I was traveling alone, this was Truly a nice to have more than a must have, so I didn't make it a big deal, just thought it was strange. My room was clean. The restroom was stocked with nice towels and the mini fridge had 2 complementary bottles of water... a super plus when you are traveling. The shower was spa-like and it had 2 shower heads (1) rainfall from the ceiling and (2) a regular detachable shower head with a hose... Great for washing your hair. The water pressure and temperature were a dream. I absolutely loved the rainfall showerhead from the ceiling UNTIL I saw the green things that build up overtime on the jet openings. Gave me a yuck moment, so I went back to using the regular degular shower head. Annnnnd my deadbolt thing didn't work which made me kinda antsy. Good thing I travel with my own lock. Parking/ Transportation: there is no airport shuttle. Good to know that airport if less than 15 minutes away from the hotel. I didn't drive or park, but I did see a parking deck. Didn't quite catch the price. Others: There was free wifi in the lobby and the room and plenty of desks to work at in the lobby. Although the desk-like table in the room did not come with a chair. That was strange as well. Breakfast is not free, buuuuut you can drink all of the coffee and tea you want on the house. Service: Everyone was pretty hospitable. No issues here. Ambiance: Hotel vibes with cool music rocking. Was excited to hear some of my favs piped through the speakers. Notwithstanding the minor things mentioned, I would actually recommend this hotel, especially if you have an event or just want to explore downtown Phoenix!!! There are quite a bit of things in walking distance, so there was no need to Uber all over the place. read more

Great location, easy access to several food options and activities. The staff is super friendly. We had some issues with a few rooms and the front desk corrected it right away. The rooms were clean and housekeeping was on point. One of the nights our group stopped at the bar for a drink. The server at the bar seemed like she didn't want to be there. Then Katya showed up and changed up the whole dynamic. She chatted with us, gave us recommendations, engaged everyone at the bar and made it a fun evening! I had a nice stay at the AC, fast service at the front desk, very quiet room with a great view of downtown and I loved the fitness center which also has fabulous views and is well equipped and maintained. Note that in the summer the fitness center is warm in the afternoon as it faces west, so prepare to sweat more than usual. Parking, like all downtown hotels is expensive at $35/day and you do have to walk outside briefly on a mostly shaded walkway. The room was modern and well equipped and the bed was comfortable, though a bit softer than I am used to. read more

Like if Elon Musk designed a hotel but remembered to make the shower pressure fantastic (which he probably wouldn't). When I walked in, I said, "Is this a hotel or an Apple Store with better furniture?" Very European. Very chic. Beautiful lobby, spotless, not a single dust bunny. Biden could never. The staff? Winners. So polite, so helpful. One young man offered me two waters, not one. That's what I call luxury hydration. I felt respected, like a man who owns three golf courses. Which I do, by the way. The room? Wow. Ultra clean. Stylish. Sleek furniture, great lighting--perfect for taking powerful selfies. The bed? Like sleeping on top of the stock market in 2019. Firm, supportive, and makes you feel like you're going to dominate the next morning. And the bathroom mirror? Bright enough to host a debate in. I looked in it and thought, "This guy looks 35." Tremendous confidence booster. Now, the location--you walk out and boom, downtown Phoenix. Great weather. Great restaurants. I had lunch next door and shook hands with three people who all said, "You're doing great, Mr. President." I said, "I know." AC Hotel - it's like if a Tesla and a boutique hotel had a beautiful, classy baby and that baby made you feel like a billionaire. Would I stay here again? Yes. Many times. If I could give a negative review, I would. When the error comes from the HOTEL on group rates and they are posted live on the booking site early, that is fault if the HOTEL and not the paying guests. Basic business 101. Remember that. You make the error, you as the business needs to deal with it accordingly. Not punish the people funding your salaries. Get rid of Rene Molina if you want this hotel to continue receiving guests. All of us have customer services experience in some form and Rene Molina may just be the worst human being possible. And in our current times, that says a lot. Why risk losing all this business by canceling hundreds of rooms/reservations WITHOUT ANY NOTICE for thousands(?) of people right before a giant dance competition event? Is your life that awful that you just single handedly put people from all walks of life, at risk by having nowhere to stay? Rene, you're a trash human and should resign immediately. This event has over ten thousand people, with money to spend. Congratulations on being an idiot as the director of sales. Maybe you should consider taking a business/sales course. Do better. A very nice hotel in a great location downtown. Rooms are amply sized although I wasn't a fan of the sliding door to the bathroom. We had some issues with our TV not working st first, but after a quick call to the front desk it was duly rectified. Like many AC hotels, breakfast isn't included, and from what I saw we didn't miss much from that available for an additional fee. Staff were very friendly, respectful and helpful. This hotel was just ok. I'll preface it by saying I did not utilize the gym, downstairs bar/restaurant area, or any other amenities. The bad: you have to pay $20+ for parking in a nearby garage. The elevators are scary - they make grinding/clunking noises and I saw the elevator flashing "communications failure" several times. So a little bit sketchy there. The room had zero hot water. It was lukewarm at best - and that's being generous. The AC also struggled to keep up, and this was the last week of November so it's not like it's 100+ degrees outside. Additionally, both my husband and I agreed we did not get a good nights sleep here - we were both very restless so comfort wise, this place was very meh. The bathroom has refillable body wash, shampoo, and conditioner bottles. I believe the body wash & the shampoo were filled with the same stuff - because they had the same exact smell and texture. The conditioner was definitely conditioner though. The good: hotel is very modern and clean. There are outside fire pits & places to hangout. The room had all hardwood floors & was aesthetically pleasing, very modern and nice features. There is a nice area to walk around outside with some food options. The city view room did have a nice view from the 7th floor. Overall: I would not stay here again. It looks nice enough on the outside, but it's not a 4 star hotel in my opinion. Do not stay on the 12th floor! The only thing wrong with this hotel (besides no pool,, but I was aware of that before I arrived) was some goofball architect thought a gym on the 13th floor was an excellent idea. Every morning around 5 am you could hear someone dropping weights, jumping rope, running, etc. The hotel did move folks who complained to other rooms if there were other rooms available. Just know before you book to request 11th floor or below. Otherwise hotel was very nice. It was clean, the bar made great drinks and staff were lovely. read more

We stayed here for a conference this fall and found it to be comfortable and having everything we needed. Check-in was fast and easy and I even forgot my key card one day and the front desk was so helpful in getting me a new one right away. Location is great and walking distance to the Phoenix Convention Center as well as to many great restaurants. We didn't spend much time in the lobby but it was artfully decorated with lots of comfortable looking seating. Room was nice with a good sized bathroom, mini fridge, coffee maker. Comfortable linens and nice smelling toiletries. Our room even had a sofa bed that made out in case a friend wanted to stay with us. Overall great spot and excellent location! read more

Highlights: *Front Desk employees worked well together regardless of shifts. *Interior provides spacious lounging areas that include a full-service bar. *The decor has a modern & European style. *The patio is spacious with a fireplace, ample variations of tables/chairs & firehouse windows. *Extremely comfortable beds & pillows. *Located in the heart of the Arizona Center-a mixed development with retail & restaurants onsite, with larger options a few blocks away in any direction. *Innovative 24/7 Fitness Center. *Housecleaning Crew engaging & accommodating. *Friday Nights offers a DJ situated between the Bar & Patio. *The hotel's focus on cleanliness, sanitizing efforts & face mask enforcement. Lowlights: *I had to rekey my room key at least twice a day due to a system error that lasts over 4 days. *AC Kitchen offers a basic Continental Breakfast with some menu items & Tapas for later in the day...not much for the V-Crew. *It's the roll of the dice to park on the street by the meters, especially during the week. *No Valet due to C-19 with $24 to park overnight - there is a parking garage adjacent to the hotel. *No Pool - I would not have gotten in at this time, yet lounging is always relaxing. Stayed here for a weekend trip while we were in Phoenix for a wedding. The rooms are modern and well kept, and they have a very nice fitness room with most of the basics you need to get in a good workout. This hotel is really nice but lacks charm. It looks like a corporate hotel which may be perfect for some. The location of this hotel is pretty good! It's a few block walk to downtown Phoenix. Only taking off a star because we had a bit of an issue checking in and the Continental breakfast is definitely not worth the $18 you pay. read more

I visited the bar 2 times during my time here. Dani, my bartender one of the most amazing people I have ever met. She has great life stories, very friendly, and can talk to anyone. Saturday September 20th a horrible accident happened on route 93. All traffic was stopped for a very long time. We were on our way to Phoenix from Vegas and became stuck. We didn't know about the accident as we sat there for several hours. An emergency vehicle came by after awhile to let us know it'll probably at least another 3 hours before traffic would start moving. We were running low on gas and badly needed food for my friend so he could take his prescription. Tired and uncertain we decided to turn around and go back home to Vegas. Called the hotel to let them know what happened and we were told too bad and we could not cancel. Manager Charles showed no empathy and refused to refund us. Mind you lots was going on in Phoenix and I'm pretty sure he was getting a lot for the room once we canceled. Greedy corporation lost us forever. We go to Phoenix several times a year for conventions. Never heard of a manager like Charles to be so uncaring. Please remember Charles 60,000 people came to your city for a memorial and you chose to be a complete jack*ss. read more

This review is for the AC Hotel lobby bar restaurant. The ambience and seating area is gorgeous, spacious and put me in a nice mood. There's a very classy and comfy outside patio area as well. There is a nice lobby bar with fun foods. I had their signature AC burger which was delicious with the olives and home fries. Service by Ryan and Stephen was outstanding. Rooms are decent size, storage and drawers are non existent to unpack clothes. Be sure to bring clothes on hangers or use a suitcase with multiple compartments because that will be your only storage. Breakfast is a rip off basic is $13 and deluxe is $18. I highly suggest you go to a local diner and there's several within walking distance or a 5 min uber ride away. Cocktails at the bar... $24-$26 dollars, not worth it. We're from San Diego where the average cocktails range $14-$18, this place is overpriced and not worth it. We've stayed at Intercontinental that offers a luxury breakfast, snack and open bar all day suite upgrade for a $50. We stayed for 4 days and happily paid the fee for all 4 days. read more

The location is so perfect, near ASU and walking distance to the convention center. Not to mention there is a outdoor mall type area with dining options right outside the hotel. Oh and an AMC! Gym is also nice on the 13th floor. The only downside is the breakfast didn't sound appeasing and when I went downstairs for coffee I paid over $4 for a cup of horrible coffee, I asked if they had any fruit like a banana, nope. Stayed here overnight on a company trip. This was a good if not excellent hotel, but I feel like The hotel staff should be a little bit more empathetic to my only complaint. We got there early but still were allowed to check in. Got to my room and everything was as expected, Great set up and comfortable beds. I was not a fan of the pillows. I wish it had a desk but instead it had a seating? After our meetings we came back to the hotel and debriefed over a glass of wine. The bartenders were super friendly and very accommodating. They even made my fellow employee laugh once or twice! In the morning I was quite a bit upset to find no hot water. That's kind of the main reason to stay at a hotel at this price. Great accommodations, great water pressure, great water temperature... And of course location. The AC Phoenix accomplished all of these except water temperature. As I checked out, I told the front desk and they just said sorry and basically brushed me off? I thought that could have been handled better. I might try them again in a month. They do have a great location and pretty centralized for where you want to be downtown. I hope for more. read more

Located right next to the convention center in downtown, very conveniently located to dining options (though not as centrally located as some of Marriotts other properties). The AC hotel is very modern, with a huge open air lobby. Small front desk, a few conference rooms, nice bar and plenty of seating. Great in Phoenixs nice night weather. Check in process was quick and efficient (not very busy). Not a super tall hotel but still some decent views. Water is a pain as ice and water is on other floors (cheaped out on water stations on every floor). Rooms are very nicely sized, love the long low bench for luggage as well as large table and sofa. I'm in love with the modern and stylish designs of AC Hotels world-wide. This boutique hotel operates under the Marriott brand umbrella. AC Hotels are named after Antonio Catalan, a European hotelier who sold properties to Marriott. The guest rooms and lobby areas have a contemporary and minimalist European design in mind. The beds are really plush, soft and comfy! You'll find premium toiletries in the guest bathroom. This 13-story AC Hotel is located at the Arizona Center in downtown Phoenix (at the corner of Fifth Street north of Van Buren Street) and has 199 rooms. Unfortunately, I assume - due to COVID - Arizona Center was like a ghost town. This hotel is brand new - it just opened last month with limited capacity due to COVID. Because it is still so new, I love how everything is so clean and well kept. It even smells nice when you first enter the hotel. There is no valet due to COVID, so you will have to park next door at the Arizona Parking Garage - I know, I wasn't too thrilled, but it wasn't that bad. Just park closest to the garage elevator. Then, take the elevator down to the street level and walk a few hundred feet to the hotel lobby. You will be charged $24 for overnight guest parking. What attracted me to this hotel was their penthouse fitness center located on the 13th floor. The panoramic views of downtown Phoenix are absolutely breath-taking! If you're a fitness enthusiast like me, the fitness center alone is a reason to book this hotel! It's open 24 hours so you can get your workout on any time ;) No excuses. There is an "AC Lounge," but since I don't really drink when I'm on business travels, I didn't get to experience it. It looked really nice, though :) Overall, I enjoyed my stay at AC Hotel Phoenix Downtown. The woman who checked me in was super friendly, professional and attentive. Was here recently for the first time for five nights. I was told it has been open for about 3 years and like the other AC in Tempe where I stayed last year this location is near the University. I was fortunate to score a room on the top floor where the workout room is also located and where I would go to grab extra bottles of water for my room. The Bistro that Chef Paul Epstein oversees has a small dinner menu where I had the cheeseburger and a generous portion of a Caesar salad on a Tuesday nite. Kudos to the African American kitchen chef who was working that evening. On my last day, I was able to try the $18 buffet breakfast as the AC concept is a European style breakfast of charcuterie and cheeses. Compared to the AC in Maui where I also stayed the price for the same thing was $30 so Phoenix was a great bargain. Kudos to Thomas who recently joined this property as the Front Desk Manager and to the guy and gal bartenders and servers who were working the lounge area throughout my stay. read more

Everything about this hotel is first class, the only negative is it lacks A pool. For it being in Arizona I booked the hotel automatically thinking that it would have a pool. Hotels in the area seem to be slim pickings so it def gave us a bit of worry. No biggie, they found it. 2. There's no connection to the parking garage from the hotel. Oh and parking is $26. I could understand paying that if I didn't have to lug my suitcase throughout a dirty dark garage. Rolls eyes. 3. They don't have a pool. I'm sorry. What?! No pool? In Phoenix? Do better AC. I was generally underwhelmed, and found myself at the bar where the lady makes a stiff one.
