Pretty good, and really wide options for vegan, vegetarians and meatarians alike. I think they are still working on some kinks in the ordering process and customer service since they are brand new, but overall decent quality. Pepita de mi Vida - I was hoping for a bigger more filling salad than what was offered, and the combinations of flavors were a bit off for me. I did appreciate it was interesting combination, not just your average "caesar" or "chopped" salad. I might get it again, but swap a few ingredients if they allow for it. Tofu Burrito - We ate it really quickly, so I think it was rather good... Definitely a nice choice for a quick and filling meal on Granville. Ambiance - pretty cool vibe, all gastrochic and whatnot. I rarely take the time to write reviews but I feel I have to warn people. I came here expecting an imitation of Chipotle and what I got was much, much worse. I ordered the chicken bowl. Brown rice, black beans, and chicken. Sounds good! Except here they place each item into the corners of the bowl, prison-style, which is odd when you're expecting to eat everything together, you know, like a bowl. The chicken was the kind of bland, tasteless chicken you might expect to find alongside a plate of cold nachos at the Cambie. No sir, this is not Chipotle. To be fair the salsa was pretty okay. And they have some other cool choices like quinoa and kale. I ate about half my bowl and tossed the rest out, it was that bad. Won't be back anytime soon. read more

I've been here a few times now. I went during their first week, and it wasn't great, but I wanted to give them a couple more chances as the first week opening a food place can be tough. I've gotten the steak three times now and each time it was a gristly, chewy mess (you're probably thinking 'why did they get it three times then?' Good question. I had hoped that they just happened to get a bad cut of meat the first times. But there was enough time between visits to determine that no, their steak is always a grisly mess). There always seems to be way too much sour cream and not enough meat. The food swims in sour cream. The meat is so little that it is a pleasant surprise to come across a piece (even when it's not good meat). The charge extra for a tiny handful of tortilla chips. Seriously. Tortilla chips are like $5 for a giant bag at Costco - why you charging me $1 for product worth literally cents?! I wanted to like this place. It's convenient to me and I eat out a lot. That is why I gave it several chances. More than enough chances. I won't be going back. read more

Toppings are similar to Chipotle, style the same. Pros: $6.50 for a huge salad, great selection of choices. Cons: their bowls are not worth it. For $9 I expect to be given a big bowl. Instead they gave me maybe about 2tablespoons of each ingredient. The bowl was not even half full and made me very disappointed. I asked for all the toppings ontop, yet the worker still asked me if I wanted every single ingredient before putting it in, he was not very bright. When I asked them why the bowls portions are so small, he said it's the same size as the salad, which isn't true as the salad for $6.50 was a lot bigger. Maybe trying to save money on proteins and rice? For $9, I rather go to Chipotle for the same price, and the portions are 3 times bigger. A chipotle that doesn't have its systems perfected. Staff were all over the place and not friendly. The proteins are not as tasty as Chipotle, nor fresh, because there's nobody here! I did come in because of no line, but I'd rather wait 5 minutes for chipotle. They do have local chicken, and the guac is 21 cents cheaper than chipotle. Hungry Guys is great to grab a bite in a pinch when on the go, or if you need a quick sit down place during your lunch break. The decor is nice, the ingredients are fresh, the staff take pride in their work. They even have a stamp card for return visitors/discounts! I've been here many times and had burritos and bowls. While substantial, my only complaint is that one of the ingredients (perhaps the sauces or brown rice?) is EXTREMELY SALTY. Honestly it has stopped me from visiting Hungry Guys anymore because the overall meal is just way too salty. Whoever is cooking the rice or making the sauces, cut back on the salt! :) read more

Guys... I am so ashamed to admit it.. But I was on my way to Chipotle. UGH. I know! But I'd just finished a spin class, was ravenous, and wanted something fast but fresh-ish. Suddenly a sign beckons: build your own burritos, bowls and salads?! In a nicely designed warm space? With no line?? Sold. I was super flustered and overwhelmed by choice so I was pleased when, after I hastily selected ingredients at random, the staff member making my salad asked if he could 'jazz it up a bit.' Jazz away, I said, and jazz he did. The resulting concoction of fresh kale, corn, tomatoes, chicken, cilantro and crispy tortilla strips tossed in a tangy chipotle dressing was pretty magical. Or at least a lot better than the big C could have done. Plus, they're a local business using local suppliers. I really have no reason to ever go to Chipotle again and neither do you. read more

I guess one can consider this fast food but healthy and simple. Average price before tax for a bowl is $8 which is the average cost of a fast food meal anyway. When you walk into the restaurant you see the long salad bar of beautiful ingredients that are the best that Mother Nature has to offer, all local, sustainable, free run, responsibly raised, free of GMO, free of all the things that is bad for us. The salads are full of robust flavours with every single bite. Although this restaurant follows the trend towards healthy fast grab and go food, the restaurant is a great place to relax with the great music and free wifi. The view is awesome from the second floor which can be used for a meeting place for groups like the YVRFoodies or a staff lunch meeting or after work get together. Found this new sexy place on Granville street over the weekend. Very clean and modern decor. Their food brings freshness to the street where other food joints around are mostly years old. I was a bit too overwhelmed with the "build it yourself route" so I got the Awesome Remix salad, and it was so so so yummy. Every bite was an absolute pleasure.
