Beef Broccoli

I ordered from here on Christmas Day for the first time! I called to confirm they were open after an order I placed at a different restaurant went through and when I arrived the doors were locked to start with, the employee who answered the phone was incredibly friendly. It was super easy to place my order online and pick up was a breeze. All the food was hot, flavorful, and packaged well. I will order from them again!

Chicken Curry Chicken

Egg roll was just mush inside, sent it back, Ordered the Curry chicken- very bland curry flavor and didn't like the way that carrots were little tiny squares, just a few sliced potatoes, not chunks, not good at all, sorry I didn't send it back too.

Fried rice

Food so good, place amazing, service very good, pet friendly , five stars place , great environment

Mongolian Beef

Came here while visiting Austin. There is free parking , no wait time and service was friendly and prompt. Wife enjoyed the hot and sour soup but the best was the chicken corn soup it was so delicious. We shared a fried egg roll same as others restaurants. Wife had the sesame chicken and got it spicy which is was. The chicken was tender and the fish was delicious. I tried the Mongolian beef, meat was very tender strips with onions and bell peppers which were fresh and crisp and not overly cooked. It was spicy as I kept drinking water lol but addictive. The fried rice was tender and helped with neutralize my palate from the hotness lol. Definitely recommend

Happy Family

We went on Christmas Day and they were completely slammed! Workers were almost running trying to get everyone's orders, drinks, seated etc. The food was slow to come out but we didn't mind because obviously this was a different situation due to it being a day when most places are closed. The Happy Family plate was really good and the fried rice was tender and flavored well. My husband ordered the Kung Pao chicken it has a lot of peanuts on it next time we will ask for no nuts. Rangoons are a little more on the sweeter side and the egg rolls were really good. I don't recommend the sweet tea it was just like sugar water there was hardly any actual tea in it. The employees were really friendly and definitely hard workers.

She's so hot she can't be hunan

I was craving XLB and dragged my husband along for an adventure to Julie's. New to the area, I'd…read moreheard they were the best. Unassuming location in a strip mall with plenty of parking. You order at the counter and they deliver the food table side. No frills on the service, which is why it's affordable. We ordered: pork XLB, pan fried pork and shrimp dumplings, scallion pancakes, steamed pork buns, and suan tsai spicy beef noodles. The suan tsai spicy beef noodles with pickled greens stole the show. WOW. Perfect amount of heat in a flavorful broth. The pickled greens really balanced out the heat in the perfect way. I could eat this every day and be happy. Noodles were thick and perfectly cooked. I was inhaling the soup and scallion pancakes (also incredible) and left the XLB sitting too long. By the time I got to them, the slightly thicker wrapping had absorbed all the soup. Still good flavor though! The pan fried dumplings were also good, but just overshadowed by the soup in my opinion. I didn't try the steamed buns (not typically my jam), and my husband said the bun itself was great, but the meat needed some flavor. Nothing to photograph as we ate almost everything! I'll be dreaming about the pickled soup tonight as I roll into bed.

I ordered this to go style and was a little bit worried I was still going to be hungry. I mean,…read morejust 6 soup dumplings sound like they can go down pretty fast. And as an appetizer at that lol . But way to prove me wrong because these were nice and hearty. The wrapper itself was a bit thicker than others I've tried and the protein inside was nice and hearty. There wasn't as much soup in all of the Dumplings but I feel ordering to go might have not done it justice. Flavor was rich and serving size was just right.

I've been buying food from this man for years and I've yet to give him kudos! Sorry, Mr. Chen!…read more These are THE BEST hand-pulled noodles in the north side of Austin, probably in all of Austin, honestly. These are ALWAYS, freshly-made, hand-pulled noodles made in house every single day. They are DELICIOUS! If you want authentic, thick, wide noodle dishes, look no further! Chen's got you. Spicy beef noodle soup, green onion pancakes, pan fried dumplings, hot oil seared noodles, spicy lamb noodle, sesame pockets, etc. All of these dishes I've had myself dozens of times. My wife loves the sesame pockets, and my kids could eat two whole servings of the pan fried dumplings in like five minutes. They're always excited to get Chen's noodle house and can't wait to go again. Quality is always there! Again, noodles are authentic and freshly made from scratch. If you want some of the best Chinese food from a hole in the wall in Austin, look no further! Especially if you are an out-of-town visitor, you've got to make a quick stop here. I've both dined in and ordered takeout, rarely ever waiting that long on my food. If I ever did, it was always because it was so packed and busy. Even then, it's worth the wait! Mr. Chen is super kind and hard-working. He makes great food with love for the community at large. Go support your local food chefs!

Even after being in a container for a bit, the noodles were still chewy and not soggy. The noodles themselves tasted a little salty so it wasn't bland at all. The lamb was really flavorful and the onions balanced it out perfectly. Scallion Pancake: 5/10 Unfortunately these were a miss for me. These were super greasy and smelled faintly of old oil. Possibly caught them on a bad day, but I wouldn't be discouraged from trying their other menu items.

The…read moreThai basil leaves were absolutely ginormous, and they gave us plenty of them alongside very fresh limes, which I appreciated. The bowl itself came loaded with meat--they definitely weren't skimping to save money here. The meat-to-noodle ratio felt great, and every bite actually had substance instead of leaving me fishing around for toppings. As for the broth, I landed somewhere in the middle. It wasn't quite as clear or light as I personally prefer, leaning toward a fattier, milkier undertone that almost reminded me of a Vietnamese pho take on tonkotsu. The flavor itself was undeniably very good, but the richness may have been a bit too much for me personally. One way I usually judge how much I love a pho broth is whether I want to sip the bowl down to the very end, and this one wasn't quite light enough for me to want to do that. I've had richer and deeper pho flavors elsewhere, but I still appreciated the flavor profile here and could absolutely see why this place is so popular. It feels hearty, comforting, and satisfying in a way that clearly resonates with many people. Despite how packed the restaurant was, the atmosphere ended up being surprisingly pleasant. Service moved very quickly, which honestly impressed me given how busy everything felt. Even with the crowd, I didn't dislike the spacing or setup at all--the restaurant still felt comfortable, and the sound of people enjoying their food all around added to the lively, welcoming energy rather than making it feel overwhelming. Overall, Pho Phong Lưu ended up being one of those places where I completely understood the hype, even if it didn't become my personal favorite pho spot. While the broth leaned richer than my preference, I still enjoyed the experience and definitely look forward to trying other dishes next time.

Soup is flavorful and they are generous with their steak and tendon portions. We will be back to try some more items on the menu.
