I haven't had THIS GREAT OF SERVICE in a long time at a restaurant. Seated in seconds, food came out really quick and everything was delicious! All of the staff were very hospitable! Today (March 22, 2024) I ordered the Louisiana Catfish, Bayou Style, from the menu. It was served on a bed of jambalaya and topped with a mix of sauteed mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, and green onions. It was a delicious comforting meal that also included a couple of pieces of lightly toasted and buttered bread, and a bowl of salad. The salad was full of fresh ingredients: a variety of lettuce, chopped pieces of cucumber and tomato, and a bit of shredded carrot. The blue cheese dressing was very good as well. I was impressed with the place! The wait staff was great and available to the customers, and the decor was that of a tricked-out bait shop in Louisiana Bayou country. today 12/4/23 we did a take out order and we had asked for an order of french toast. they didn't point us to anything on the menu that would've indicated a combo or anything like that. apparently an order means "one slice of toast cut in half". ridiculous. the girl doing our to go order was rude as well as what i would assume was the manager on duty, wasn't helpful in understanding anything. first and last time ever going here for anything. read more

They must have meant one huckleberry when they created their "huckleberry" muffin recipe. It was a weak muffin, especially sad since the place is called Huckleberry's. The French fries were cold. The decor with tin mini roofs, green foliage hanging off, as well as clothes lines, lanterns, and signs saying "Gator Crossing" add to the Cajun look and feel of this cute restaurant. The lavatories are clean, the service is up to par. It's 1:40 pm on a Sunday and the hostess is prompt in asking how many seats. Fortunately most of the crowd seems to be leaving and I am able to get my seating for two quite fast. Mardi Gras Beignets! There are three to an order, peach compote, blueberry compote, as well as a strawberry compote. The beignets aren't greasy and don't taste like a donut as some other places would have them taste. I enjoyed these beignets and although I am unsure how a beignet should taste, I think these would be close to the original ones. Lightly crispy on the outside, warm yet not doughy soft taste to the inside. The compote selection is pretty good, but they aren't sickeningly sweet and the cream isn't too rich or thick or sweet. It is a good balance of textures and flavors. Cajun Benedict with red potatoes! Classy meets home cooking! I love these and they never fail to please my tastebuds. The eggs are poached beautifully and the andouille sausage is mouthwateringly savory with a little spicy kick! Hollandaise isn't too lemony, not too yolky, but it doesn't taste like pure butter either, there is a flavor that is the taste of hollandaise. The red potatoes are cooked up country style, no fancy business here, just good ole' home cooked 'taters! Whenever I come here I always pick this dish! Although the orange juice isn't freshly squeezed, it is still pretty good. I used to frequent this joint quite a lot when I had worked nearby and miss the home style food. My time here was pretty pleasant. Server was a little awkward because she had taken our drink order and served our drinks. Then when she came to take our order she said, 'Welcome to Huckleberry's.' Like ya you literally just talked to us. I really loved my Huck's swamp ice tea. It was the perfect kind of sweet. I really think it's cute that they served certain drinks with the mason jars.
