This place is cash only. They also accept Zelle, but that is a nightmare to deal with. You will find an ATM on site. There is limited street parking available near this joint. This place is a hole-in-the-wall and is always packed. It is located right down the street from Howard University. The staff there is friendly, and you place your order through thick security glass. To put their menu in simple terms, they offer Chinese food and wings. Their wings have limited sauces. I got the 6-wing meal with fries. I got Mumbo sauce on my wings and fries. You can also get the sauce on the side. It took about 15 minutes for them to prepare my meal. This restaurant is a strictly carryout joint and does not offer dine-in. My food was decent. The wings were flavorful and juicy. I recommend checking this place. I just hate cash-only places and wish that they accepted credit/debit cards.

After doing a little research looking for the best mumbo sauce, this place came up a lot so myself and my kids took an Uber to get some. First thoughts it was small, but I was also excited because little corner places like that have the best food. We went about 1:30pm. There were about 5 people ahead of us, no eating area. Prices were fair, I forgot they only accepted cash so he gave me his Zelle info. There is also an ATM. The food was fresh and flavorful. The mumbo sauce was delicious! My daughter got the lo mein lunch special and my song got wings and fries. It was definitely worth the trip!

This is an HU staple. They have upgraded the inside since I was a student to where it is pickup only. The service is always quick considering they are almost always busy. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. We love it here and come back every time we're in town!

If you went to HU, you already know! As my Homecoming ritual, I stop here before going to the yard!! Now my fam n love coming here. A few blocks away from the Mecca... bring cash! My must haves: Wings with fries + extra mumbo sauce!! .35 extra! Philly egg rolls with mumbo sauce for dipping!! Extra lrg house made ice tea n lemonade!! The owners are nice, I think the kids now run it, cuz its not the same owner of when I went to HU.

Staple of DC for years. I don't get here often but am always pleased when I do. A carryout doing its best in carryout. Get the cheesestesk egg roll and wings w/fries. Cash only, but there's two atms on site. Fast service. A perfect hole in the wall.

Hole in the wall place. It's small and it looks run down but let me tell you, this place is LEGIT! Best cheap Chinese place around the area. The Philly egg roll was the best I've ever tried and let me start with the chicken with mumbo sauce. It was fantastic, the chicken was crispy and hot and their mumbo sauce is fire. The portions were huge and it did not disappoint. Crab Rangoon were filled with goodness and crispy. This place is a bang for your buck. It's only cash only so be aware of that (ATM inside if needed). Overall, 5/5, it's cheap eats and great Chinese food. Best mumbo chicken w/ fried rice and Philly egg roll!

Coming from the West Coast, I didn't know there was a difference in how people do Chinese takeout/carry out. I usually wouldn't order wings and fries at a Chinese place but now I will be every time I can! The mambo sauce is a game changer! The wings and fries are crispy and delicious. We also got Lo Mein and you can't go wrong with that. They gave generous portions and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Ordered takeout from here and it was delicious!! I got the Shrimp Hanan and it was so flavorful and was a great deal for $7. I love that they actually put a good amount of veggies in it too. The food was ready within 15min and packed nicely!! The only downside is they only accept cash

Outstanding carry out. Beat up looking, no doubt, but the food here is terrific. The wings and rice is the best in the city!

The 5 stars are for their egg rolls. Everything else I tried is pretty average (veggie lo mein, veggie fried rice).

Been here only twice, the last time was in 2012 but it was one for the books. Mumbo sauce is only rivaled by Chicago's mild sauce haha.

I've been hearing about this place for a while now, so our daughter made reservations for our visit…read moreand we were not disappointed! We were greeted and seated right away. Our server was new and very helpful. The space is tight in there so walking back to our table was a bit of a challenge trying not to hit someone while they were taking a drink, but the energy is high and lively! We ordered cocktails to start, and there were so many interesting choices that it was a difficult choice. We all thought we got the best one! Every dish was fresh, flavorful and fire! The scallion lamb was tender and savory. The crab fried rice was total comfort food and I could eat this every day! All those flavors! The dish that stole the show; however, was the eggplant! Wow! What a wonderful surprise. Hot, fresh and full of flavor, the eggplant was perfectly cooked and we couldn't stop talking about it long after we left!

As…read moresomeone who does not eat pork, I found the menu a bit limiting, so we went with the salt and pepper eggplant, bok choy, vegan dan dan noodles, and beef noodles. The vegetable dishes were easily my favorite part of the meal. The salt and pepper eggplant in particular had a fantastic flavor profile, and the veggies overall were flavorful and genuinely fun to eat. The entrees did not land quite as well for me. The portions felt small for the price, the beef was sparse, and the noodles leaned a little dry. I did enjoy the atmosphere though. We sat outside, the music was bumping, and the whole space had a relaxed energy to it. I can definitely see the appeal, but between the limited non-pork options and the entrees falling short, I am not sure it would be a go-to for me.

It was perfectly crispy, light, and flavorful--both my husband and I really enjoyed it. The curry chicken was decent. My husband loved it, but I thought it was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly memorable either. As for the stir-fried noodles, they were average and didn't leave much of an impression. Unfortunately, what really changed our overall experience wasn't the food--it was the service at the end of the meal. When it was time to pay, my husband used his card but intended to leave the tip in cash. As the waitress was processing the payment, she said, "You know the tip is not included." It wasn't what she said, but how she said it. It came across as if she was demanding a tip rather than providing the kind of service that would naturally earn one. The interaction left us feeling uncomfortable and ended the meal on a disappointing note. Because of that experience, I can't recommend this restaurant. Chinatown has plenty of other restaurants that offer not only better food but also friendlier, more welcoming service.

The service was absolutely stellar and earned them an extra star in my review. Extremely attentive but not overbearing. We never had to ask for more water, our glasses were always filled. When I was disappointed with my first entree, I was looking at a menu to get something else and the waitress noticed and came right over (although she didn't ask how the food was / if I didn't like it / why I was asking for a box for an untouched entree). I like the crunch that was added on the lo mein, but the noodles were overall meh. Chicken was somewhat bland. The honeycomb cake wasn't anything special, but it fit my palette at least. Service was attentive and nice at least. It's a nice spot to look at, but should have maybe known why this place wasn't that busy on a Saturday evening.

With that, I must say that the reviews did not lie...gosh this food was AMAZING! The combination lo mein contained roasted pork, chicken, and shrimp. The roasted pork, shrimp, and chicken was perfectly prepared and the lo mein was just right. My first dim sum experience and Han Palace did not disappoint!…read more I visited Han Palace in Barracks Row for the first time and tried their all-you-can-eat dim sum. They offer Option A for $38 and Option B for $48 with Option B including additional dishes like General Tso's Chicken, Orange Chicken, and more. We chose Option B and ordered a little bit of everything! Our table was filled with fried and steamed dumplings, bao buns, General Tso's Chicken, Orange Chicken, vegetable fried rice, and several soups. The beef brisket soup was one of my favorites and the fish dish we tried was also really good. Everything came with flavorful sauces that made each dish even better. The cocktails were also a highlight. I had a refreshing lychee cocktail (I unfortunately don't remember the name) and it had the perfect balance, not watered down and actually had a good kick! They also offer a bottomless all-you-can-drink option for $18, which is a great add-on if you plan to stay and enjoy the experience. The service was great, the team came back around often to check on you and provide refills and take your next round of orders for the all-you-can-eat.
