Chuck... that's the owners name, everyone who came in knew his name. Parking wasn't an issue at…read more3ish. Cute little carry out. Stopped here because of the ratings and the cleanliness ratings on Yelp. I met a few Neighborhood patrons. I love DC. I love the culture. I used to live in DC but it seems as though my Texas accent is making me stick out like a sore thumb but the DMV is home. So many regulars come in and you know that it has to be a good little spot. We got the cheese steak, it came with American cheese not the white cheese... we got the beef and broccoli and also the orange chicken. I wouldn't give it 5 stars but definitely worthy of 4 stars. Customer service was great even though he had so many customers in and out who had called in orders. There are lots of carry outs off of this street so I'll know soon which is best!

The food is not inviting and bland in taste. I ordered two basic entres from the menu- shrimp fried…read morerice and peppered steak. The shrimp fried rice had more than enough rice -One eighth of the container contained a few shrimp the remaining 7/8ths of the container fried rice. The rice had plenty of brown color, lacked flavor, onions and eggs. The pepper steak had plenty of onions and gravy, very little peppers and steak. One had to search for the steak in the sea of gravy and onions. In general, both shrimp fried rice and peppered steak were very skimpy with respect to the main ingredients-shrimp and steak. The wait for the order was the best take away. The carry out needs a face lift to make it more inviting. The Carryout is along a strip of other small food business and vacant storefront buildings. The kicker is the business does not take credit cards- accepts cash only. What a bummer! The food is so bad the business only accepts cash.

They will moderate the heat level for you though so everyone can be happy. They also have GLUTEN FREE chicken dishes like orange chicken! I am in heaven. And they offer hot sake carafes for $5.

Overall, the food was good. Once seated, a server hands you an iPad where you'll order your food. To feed two adults and one child, all hungry, we ordered dan dan noodles, orange chicken, cucumbers, BBQ pork bao, pork dumplings, and, of course, soup dumplings. Every dish had good flavor. The dan dan noodles are more soupy compared to nearby Copycat, but it was still good. One odd thing that may be a one off, but worth noting is the wait time. With one other person there and no takeout pickups and three people in the kitchen, it took 35 minutes to get our first dishes. Over an hour later, we got our final dish- orange chicken. We couldn't figure out why there was such a long wait especially when other spots bring out the cucumbers within minutes of ordering. We were hungry so it added to the emotions, but worth calling out in case you're a rush.

Plus, the ambience is a mix of relaxation and class. I ordered the Lychee Martini to start, followed by the Tom Yum Fried Rice with Shrimp. It was cold, fresh, and so flavorful. Plus, it packed a punch. Although I normally eat the pork belly with fried rice, I decided to go with the Tom Yum Fried Rice with Shrimp, which did not disappoint. The freshness and spicy/sour flavors really delight the pallet. Plus, the pepper tray provides vinegar and hot sauces to supplement, if needed. The owner not only cares about the quality of the food in this restaurant, but about his customers and the community. I haven't visited for a while, and the staff still remembered my standard order. That attention to detail is something that makes people feel appreciated and want to come back again and again. Kudos to Baan Siam for their success year over year!

The khao soi had good flavor, and it came with rice. The chicken wings were for my son, he said they were the best wings he's ever had. The beef curry had good flavor, but the beef was a bit overcooked. Service was a little bit of a miss. When the waiter first came, he asked us for our food order. However, we wanted to order drinks first. I was able to order my cocktail, however, the waiter left before anyone else at my table could speak to order a beverage. Food came out very quickly. This is not the type of place where you would want to enjoy drinks and food over a period of time. However, if you are super hungry, your food will definitely get to you quickly. Restaurant was crowded, but not super loud. Overall, I would come back for the food, I just wish that I could have more time to enjoy my restaurant experience.
