They get 1 star for having fast delivery, one star for always getting my order right,. This used to be one of my favorite take out places, they had solid food. The last three ordered I've made for Pad Thai have gone from meh to bad, to today terrible. The food has no flavor, is super greasy, the noodles are overcooked, and to make matters just unacceptable I found a hair in my food. I'm sad to say I will not be ordering from them again. read more

We found this place was nearby and had fairly decent reviews. The restaurant itself is like almost on a corner by a gas station and a tiny few other shops. We ordered the chicken satay (super dry). Then, we ordered sticky rice but for some reason they gave us the rice that goes with mango. Unfortunately the rice looked and tasted like it was many days old. Like a week old. It was two tiny rolls of it and they charged us $6. We ordered larb and asked for it to not be sour and to be made spicy. It was insanely sour and just made us not hungry. We ended up throwing it out. We ordered drunken noodle but it tasted off too. However, it was the best item we ordered from there. Definitely won't be back read more

The Pad Seewe was watery and had no flavor. The dumplings had a weird taste and after taste. Even with asking for spice to be added the noodles had no flavor at all. I think the pound of broccoli added made it watery because when I took a bite, my mouth flooded with water. This was disappointing because they have a high rating so I was expecting a delicious meal. I love the food at Thai Orchid's Kitchen! My favorite is the Crispy Salmon with Penang sauce. The Pad Thai is my second favorite and last is Pad See Ew! I never had Larb salad before but now I'm hooked. And I always like that large Thai Tea as my dessert. It's so creamy and delicious it's like a dessert! I try to order at least twice a month or more. Such delicious food! Both the drunken noodles and basil fried rice were well-seasoned with an abundance of Thai flavor and spice. This was my first time trying mango sticky rice and Thai iced tea. Considering its the beginning of winter, meaning mangos are not in season, this place managed to serve me a perfectly ripe mango! The best Thai curry and Thai Iced Tea I've had probably ever (5/5). The portions here are large, and the prices are very reasonable. The red curry was so satisfying, with many bamboo shoots and chicken. The tom kha (tom yum soup with coconut milk) was also delicious, with mushroom and shrimp (5/5). The Thai Iced Tea, let me tell you, was the most fragrant, chock-full of flavor thai iced tea I've had ever. The sampler plate was pretty good; we very much enjoyed the shrimp wrapped in egg roll wrapper, the eggrolls, and curry potato empanadas. The pork shu mai were also good. The only dishes that we did not like were the basil fried rice (2/5) and pad thai (3/5). There was not enough basil flavor, the tofu was soggy, and the rice was way too moist. It also had too much soy sauce and was salty. The pad thai was ok, but also a little too moist and the sauce had too much tamarind and was too tangy for our liking. The crushed peanuts also tasted stale. I would like to come back here to try other menu items. But I appreciated how the owner came and asked for feedback on the food. We tried our Thai Orchid's Kitchen last night because we had gone on a garden tour with neighbors and drank too much wine to feel comfortable driving; luckily, I discovered that this place is one of the few that delivers to our neighborhood! My partner (who doesn't love Thai noodle and rice dishes) kept saying how good the chicken satay and the spring rolls were. He was especially pleased with the peanut sauce. My drunken noodles were delicious and a bit spicier than I expected (this was a good thing). Being picky, I'll say that the chicken was a bit over cooked, but it did taste great. The packaging/transport needed a bit of work. The bottom of our bag was covered in sauce by the time it got to us. Those plastic takeout containers don't seal perfectly and paired with a huge portion, it leaked on the trip. Not the worst thing, but keep in mind if you're both picking it up to bring home or getting it delivered. read more

Best Thai food in dc hands down. It doesn't get enough love because it's in southeast- and I could say so much about that (insert eye roll). However this is about the food. I get the Thai basil a lot. Or the curry. Lately I've been doing the pineapple fried rice but if you order online you have to click both chicken and shrimp otherwise you only get one. I usually eat here three to four times a month. Given its location it's literally the best restaurant in the neighborhood. A Thai friend turned me on to it so I know it's legit. It's not in the best neighborhood but it's right off 295. The food is always cooked just right. Enough sweet, spice and choices.
