    Thai tea
    Kaya E.

I only stopped in to TipThai for a Thai Tea (I've been craving one ever since I've gotten back from Thailand). The service was fast, only waited about 3 minutes. The server was kind. And my Thai tea hit the spot! Inside is clean and there's lots of seating options inside as well as outside. I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit here so that I can try the food. They have all the traditional Thai dishes that I love like Tom Yum soup, Panang curry and mango sticky rice. Check them out if you're ever in downtown DC near the monuments.

Very convenient to the national mall. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Good pop music as well as TVs playing the World Cup. Restaurant was full and they were a bit slow to take out order but the food came out lightning fast. We had calamari, chicken satay, red curry cashew chicken and papaya salad. The food was good but not spectacular. Portions were ok. We had Mai Tai and Margaritas. These were ok.

Prices aren't established well in some ways as per my several visits here. Quality is good. However: their pad thai, drunken noodles, and tofu khao soi are exceptional. Tom yum was bland. The main man running the store in the front is dedicated, but i would appreciate it if they implemented feedback. This place is a family staple as well. Thai tea with spices is also really worth it.

I was in town for a work conference and I love Thai food. This place popped up on my maps with a good review. The food was delicious with just the right amount of spice. I got the green curry and my coworker got drunken noodles. Again they both had great spice. I also got some cold sake which I had not had before. The place was a cute location in the center Was also a small bar you could sit at. The man who helped me was very kind and patient. They did add automatic gratuity which I was a little bit confused from since it was just a party of two. Not sure if that's something they do since it's close to a lot of the courthouses and such.

I am a fan of Thai food and will continue my search to find the best Pad Thai in the city (I'm serious). This particular Chicken Pad Thai was above average in the area. If you were to present me various pad thais, I could tell you the TipThai versus others. I would definitely try more dishes from here, and it is in a good section of the city.

This is my new favorite takeout spot! I was on UberEats one day, saw that TipThai was having a special on the pad thai and panang curry, ordered it and I'm so glad I did! So flavorful, so tasty, just so so good! I get mild pad Thai and medium panang curry and these spice levels are just fine for me. The panang curry comes with the perfect amount of rice and if you're feeling up for a Thai tea, you won't be disappointed! I'm so glad I found this place and will probably be ordering again in the next week!

The food here is good, price is great for portion size imo, staff here is very nice- always checks up on us!! The duck is very good!! And the nam tok is so flavorful I really liked it. It's very cozy inside.

When nearby Rice Bar was unexpectedly closed for lunch, my friend and I pivoted to this Thai restaurant. Yelp gave it decent reviews. Walking in on a Friday around 11:40am, we got a seat inside right away. Despite being busy, the man serving was pretty efficient. Water in paper cups came straight away and once we asked, he brought the bill. Overall, the food was decent. The Thai iced tea is sweet. The chicken green curry isn't a big portion, but it tasted like it should.

Wow is all I can say because this has to be the freshest Thai food delivery I ever had! Just got my order from Uber Eats and I tell you the $40 something dollar I spent is real worth it. I ordered Pad See Ew beef medium heat, mango and sticky rice, wonton soup, and regular fried rice with shrimp all medium heat. I'm glad I started with medium because it was spicy but not too much. So when I order again I will definitely try and inch up to the hot! Food came out hot and fresh and I sampled all so I could make sure I gave my honest opinion. And they did not disappoint. Everything was delicious! I can't wait to make my way inside the restaurant if delivery is this good...I know actually sitting down at the restaurant would be just as good or even better. They had a discount in (2) of the items so that was good and I save a little coin!

Great food! Very fresh! Excellent service! If I lived here I would be a regular. I had fried tofu a chicken salad and a glass of table Chardonnay. (I had already started eating before I took the pictures)

Stopped in to grab a bite before the concert. Between us we ordered: Summer Rolls Crab Rangoon Pad Ginger The summer rolls had a lot of sprigs of cilantro which overpowered it a bit and we like cilantro. The Crab Rangoon was perfect and the Pad Ginger was a little sweeter than I'm used to but very tasty. The service was great and very quick. Cute little restaurant.

While the food was ok. It was expensive. Portion was small especially appetizer. When I asked rice to be replaced to salad, most restaurants won't mind and would gladly change it for free. At the price point of $23, it really wasn't a big deal. Yet this restaurant wanted me to pay extra for salad. My eyes popped when I saw the size of calamari and satay (both appetizers)at $10 each. Satay had three pieces, while calamari had 10 pc. How cheap! The waitress, though friendly, charged us tips without consents. At the end we paid $100+ for cafeteria quality food. Won't be back if we ever come back to DC.

LOOOOKKKKKK... Knock my socks off why don't you! WOW! Ordered UBEREATS && wanted Thai but I didn't think we were getting this greatness! Everything was simply amazing from the real spice level to the authentic fresh taste to perfection and that's coming from 4 huge Thai cuisine lovers! Portions were great sizes and everything was just great! PHOTOS DON'T EVEN DO IT JUSTICE! You just have to try! Also, excuse photos because we had already started eating && didn't expect to like it like we did!

Tucked into the heart of Dupont Circle with its unmistakable bright blue awning, the restaurant is intimate, moody, and always buzzing. Inside, you'll find dim lighting, a handful of cozy wooden bar booths, seats along the bar, and a few outdoor tables. It's not a huge space, which only adds to its charm and makes every reservation feel like a win. The atmosphere is perfect for sharing dishes and lingering over dinner with friends. The food was incredible...I genuinely loved every single bite. Just be prepared: the Sichuan spice is no joke! If you aren't expecting it, it'll definitely sneak up on you (in the best way). My must-orders? The chili wontons, Dan Dan noodles, and beef noodles. Every dish was packed with bold flavor and left me wanting to come back for more. If you've been trying to score a reservation, keep at it. Astoria is one of those places that's absolutely deserving of its reputation, and I'll be thinking about those noodles until my next visit.

Inside had small tables and a kinda casual cocktail bar vibe Beef Noodles - the highlight and actually very good! The noodles are long and handmade and chewy. They hold onto the sauce very well! The sauce has a slight kick and is very savory. The beef is soft and also flavorful! I feel the price for the portion is kinda expensive though 8/10 Chili wontons - skin is silky and soft, sauce is savory with a small kick as well! Even though the sauces look similar to beef noodle they taste very different. The fillings had good flavor and overall were good but were a bit tougher and dryer than I would prefer. 6/10 Crab fried rice - crab is slightly overcooked but naturally sweet. It has a light curry taste throughout and was pretty good but didn't really stand out 5.5/10 Mapo tofu - slight kick and nice savory taste in the sauce! However I think they cut the tofu pieces way too large or the tofu they chose had way too much tofu flavor that overpowers the sauce. I'd prefer a very light silky tofu but this was a soft tofu. 6/10 Vpod - at first it just tasted like orange juice but then the other flavors peek through on the after taste and when I mixed it more. Even though it was good, it still felt very basic 5/10 Philadelphia Scotsman - it's pretty ginger forward. Technically the level of ginger spice is fine but strong but then the rest of the drink got completely overpowered and so this just wasn't that great 2.5/10

This wasn't a bad day in the kitchen -- this was a fundamental misunderstanding of what Ramen is supposed to do. The Breakdown Broth: F -- I ordered the shoyu. It's way too simple, flat, and an insult to the bowl it was served in. Does it really take 16 hours to make soup that tastes like beef broth bought at Walgreens? I'm not a heavy oil person but there was also a noticeable lack of oil to give the soup any depth either. Is anyone in the kitchen tasting the soup or had ramen before? Genuinely puzzled by how bad this is. This would never fly in Japan. It shouldn't be ok here either. Noodles: B -- honestly the only competent part of this bowl. They say they're shipped in from Japan. Protein: F -- a pile of unseasoned ground pork sitting next to massive slice of chashu so bland it made me question the pig. What are we doing here? This is too much poor meat. Quantity over flavor, and it showed. Toppings: C -- the egg was tasted great, perhaps the most flavorful part of the meal, but half of it was warm and half was cold. Green onions seemed to be all the green bits from the top and none of the white parts on the bottom. And then -- the cucumber salad. A tiny $10 side dish for a quarter of a cucumber in soy sauce and sesame seed oil. Charging this much for such a small quantity is it's own kind of crime. Mind you, it tasted fine but I really expected more and it's ultimately what bumped this 2 star review down to 1 star. Overall: My Japanese ramen radar was blaring "fake ramen" the whole time at this place. This felt like a Ramen place run by people who had never been to Japan. And while that is ok, if you end up serving ramen that's so lacking in redeeming qualities then I have to call it a failure. That bad pricing on top of that is just a kick in the nuts. I felt misled by the reviews. DC's ramen scene deserves better than this 2/10
