Anyone that follows or reads my reviews knows I am a bar person. I walked to this houlihans which i frequent often. I sit at the bar to be greeted with bo hello, no smile more of a grunt asking me what I wanted. No hello, no nothing a fucking grunt. Now Am I suppose to tip her? (the bartender with the grey curly hair). Then I see a waitress that serves me often and I day hello, and what do I get A fucking grunt... WTF.... The the guy bartender who has been here for a long time, comes over to me and with a bright smile says hi, how are you.... Houlihan managers if you see this get rid of the miserable servers, put them in the kitchen as dishwashers. read more

Stopped in Houlihan's after leaving the city for a late lunch, the service as always was excellent and so was the food. Ambiance is always mellow. Houlihan's has been here awhile and still going strong. Do your self a favor and stop by you won't be sorry. They also have an all the time prix fixe meal for $29.00. read more

Went for lunch and stuck with pescatarian menu. They have a lot of option to eat in- lunch menu, fixed menu, all-day menu. All options have good selections. Service was good. Pleasant interior with booths, big bar, and table tops. Crab & shrimp dip was flavorful and definitely had good chunks of both proteins. Scallops were good, but asparagus risotto was too greasy and had a lot of oil. Lemon cod was cooked well and had lemony flavor, however breading flavor did not tie into the dish; side vegetables were crunchy and delicious. Shrimps were flavorful and cooked well, pasta was on a doughy side, sauce too thin therefore stayed in the bottom of the plate even with constant steering. Drinks were delicious. Have been here before and it was a whole different experience than the last. Sat at the bar and even though my food was delicious, I was more interested in some nice drinks. Order a smoked old fashion but was super disappointed. The bartender actually put vanilla liqueur in it to substitute for simple syrup. It tasted horrible. The next drink I decided to go safe and order a Tito's vodka with tonic water. Another dead end. The bartender put sparkling water in it instead of tonic. Didn't bother complaining because it was St Patrick's Day and busy but bad!!!!! read more

Today I decided to dine alone. Upon arrival I was greeted warmly by the hostess, who led me to my booth. Waitress wasn't as friendly as anticipated. I listened and watched her greet others who arrived after me warmly and offer drinks before me. When she finally decided to acknowledge me it was short and dry. However, the food presentation and flavors were delicious. I've always loved Houlihan's so I will highly recommend. Ambiance seems quiet and full of regulars who dine here often. First time reviewing as every time I've done I was not able to take pictures. The ambience is a cool laid-back like a speakeasy and a way the service is always great. Any waitress or waiter I've had they have been on point so it's never a hit or miss and the food as well. I had two people that were out of town and could not believe the prices That we were paying to have an appetizer your entrée and your dessert for a good cost and have said to me that they love the food. I've had someone from Texas and someone from Las Vegas that my cousin from Las Vegas. I took her there the first night she got in and then we had to meet again and I said OK. Where do you wanna meet and she said houlihans as it is also kid friendly I have celebrated birthdays there and sometimes this is where I meet my friend who moved upstate as she is the one that introduced me to this location also if you're looking for a good place to have drinks, this is the place. My boyfriend and I frequent this location on a semi-regular basis. We always sit at the bar and chat with Mike, the friendly bar manager. I enjoy the nachos and fresh salads. VINNY SAVES THE DAY WITH GREAT SERVICE!!!! My family and I celebrated my mothers birthday yesterday, March 14th. We had a large group of 15. The waitress, Kate, did all that she could to help us, but was a bit overwhelmed and my aunt was totally rude to her. Additionally, I think Kate was having a bad day already. It was turning into a bad and uncomfortable situation. Luckily, a manager named Vinny Solazzo, stepped in and saved the day. He took charge and was extremely patient and accommodating . Houlihan's is a great family-friendly establishment! We were able to easily make a reservation a night in advance. The service there was very pleasant. Our waiter was a nice gentleman who had worked there for 23 years! We ordered the Thai wings, which are always a hit. We devoured those right away. My MIL ordered a Margarita that ended up being giant! For mains, we enjoyed the ahi tuna salad and the Turkey club. Everything was delicious. The portions are pretty big, too. To be honest I never liked the food at houlihans and the locations by my house (Fairfield and parsippany) closed so I was surprised when my parents suggested we go have dinner at this location (I thought all of the restaurants closed). It was a little busy but no wait in a Saturday evening, and we were quickly given a table. The menu has a large variety but a lot going on in each dish (I can't have certain food), but I was able to find something i could have on the menu. I tried my stepdads stuffed mushrooms (really great) and mom and I had the baked potato soup (a little cold but still delicious). Mom and I both had the pecan crusted chicken salad and the chicken did not look very appealing but it was actually a good dish. The staff was not overly friendly or welcoming. read more

Visited around 9pm on a Tuesday because we were starving and thankfully Houlihan's was still open because everything in the area was closed or just the bar was left open. Service was phenomenal our server was extremely friendly and our food was out very quickly. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer and it was fresh and flavorful. For entrees we both decided on the pre-fix as it was a great amount of food for a price you cannot beat. The baked potato soup is one of my favorite foods from here and very filling. My entree was the Sedona shrimp pasta and we also had a 4 oz filet with green beans and fries. Our food was delicious, fresh, and a very well sized portion. The gooey butter cake is a must for dessert, sweet and heavy but absolutely mouth-watering. The inside of the restaurant was extremely clean and organized. read more
