WOW - cancel next weekend's plans. You must dine at Adelaide. On a weekend visiting my in-laws, and with the reassurance my 11-month-old was fast asleep and cared for by his doting grandparents, my husband and I decide to venture to Adelaide for our first dinner out since our 1-year anniversary. The ambience is pristine. I enter a well-appointed foyer where a young and friendly hostess greets me and hands me a cocktail menu. She takes my overcoat and with it, all the stress building over the course of a much-too-long workweek. We peruse the cocktail menu and unwind at the intimate 7-seat bar, where bartenders provide everything from light conversation to suggestions about which libations to order; we have found respite here. I am enjoying myself and wonder what's different? How could I already be enjoying myself before I've even had a morsel of food or a drop of drink? I realize -- I can not only hear myself think but also hear my husband speak at a normal volume. The background music is perfect because it is just that -- playing in the background. I hum along to the tune and my "French Pain Killer" is ready. One sip and I know it'll be my regular drink. I get ready to order another when my husband nudges me; our table is ready. It feels too soon! I am escorted by a strapping young waiter to our table. It is there that I realize the lighting is perfect -- just bright enough yet I can read the menu without whipping out a phone flashlight, and warm enough that I do not feel as though I have entered a room with LED surgical floodlights. My husband and I order everything on the menu - and cannot decide which dish is our favorite. The bread is divine and it takes every ounce of self discipline to stop myself from eating every last crumb of that stuff, which I learn is baked in house daily. Luckily, the pasta arrives and I do not fill up on the fresh bread (though I don't think it would've been so bad to do that). The pasta is full of flavor in the very first bite. Immediately, I am sad that social convention requires that I share some of it with my husband. To my great fortune, more dishes start coming out. Our terrific waiter Trevor educates us about each one and each is more delicious than the last. I start to feel full and become disappointed I will not have enough room to try every dessert. I recently tried Adelaide which absolutely blew away my expectations. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt intentional and thoughtfully crafted. The first thing you notice is the open kitchen concept. Being able to watch the chefs work adds an entirely new level of appreciation for the meal. I would say this is something foreign to the Bergen County scene. This immediately changes the game. What truly set this place apart, though, was the staff. The service was incredibly attentive without ever feeling intrusive. Every recommendation felt genuine and every plate was explained with enthusiasm. You can tell the team takes real pride in what they do. I am not sure the specific backgrounds of the staff, but it felt as though they had worked together for years even though the Adelaide has only been open for several weeks. The menu is carefully curated and thoughtfully designed so that every dish feels purposeful. Each bite reflected quality ingredients and balanced flavors, making it hard to choose a favorite. Whether you're planning a cozy date night or gathering the family for a special evening out, this spot strikes the perfect balance between elevated and welcoming. It's the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. P.S. There's also a staircase that seems to climb up toward additional tables above the main eating area, almost like it's leading you to a hidden dining experience. It adds such a cool architectural element to the space. On my next visit, I'd love to request a table up there to see the restaurant from a new perspective. read more

I had an incredible experience here. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. When we walked in it honestly took a good ten minutes just to take in the scenery and the atmosphere. The space is stunning and immediately sets the tone for the meal. The food was spectacular across the board. The golden beet starter was stellar and I loved how the different ingredients complemented each other and came together in a really balanced way. The tomato bisque was delicious. I personally love bright acidic flavors and this was exactly the kind of flavor profile I enjoy. The half roast chicken was phenomenal. The quality of the chicken was clearly top tier and the texture and flavor of the crusted skin were absolute perfection. My favorite dish of the night was the mushroom fettuccine. The sauce was incredible and the mushrooms themselves were cooked beautifully and full of flavor. One surprise highlight was the non alcoholic white tea drink. I normally would not go out of my way for a non alcoholic alternative but this was genuinely amazing and easily a ten out of ten. The service was also excellent. The staff were very kind and attentive and were extremely helpful when my friend and I were trying to decide what to order. They made great recommendations and were great communicators throughout the meal. Overall it was an amazing experience from the atmosphere to the food to the service. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Adelaide and loved every minute of it! I loved the whole vibe of the restaurant....the decor is warm and inviting, the entire staff is AMAZING and the food is simply delicious! You can tell that only the finest ingredients are used to prepare the dishes. Starting off, the focaccia was so good especially with the tomato butter. The beet salad was beyond tasty and the pasta course was so fresh and fabulous! I did decide to go with the Adelaide Burger for my main dish and I have to say it really was one of the BEST burgers I have ever had! It was just SO GOOD!! The cocktails and the wine were excellent as well! I also love the open kitchen concept. I loved watching the chef and staff put together the dishes with such focus. You can tell they really love what they are doing. I highly recommend Adelaide! I can't wait to go again and again and again! Wishing this new restaurant all the best. What an absolutely amazing experience at Adelaide! I had the pleasure of dining upstairs to celebrate a birthday and felt the staff, food, drink and ambiance really made this celebration special. Our wait staff had a clear understanding of the food, being able to make good recommendations and wine pairings. They were more than attentive and made our table feel like we were the only ones there despite it being fully booked. The cocktails and food were both delicious. As an at home cook myself, I really enjoy being able to go out and have meals/flavors that I wouldn't normally have at home. Adelaide definitely was that. From start to finish - everything was delightful. From Homemade pasta, to pork chops and duck - I'm not sure if i'm able to define my favorite meal of the night since it all was all great. Even more basic items like a little gem salad were filled with so much flavor (We ended up ordering 3 of these!!!). It was such a night to remember and see I can't wait to go back. From the moment you walk in, this restaurant strikes a perfect balance between upscale and inviting. I absolutely love the renovations and the vibe is immaculate! The food is absolutely amazing! Each dish is beautifully presented and is unique and full of flavor. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They strike that rare balance of being present when you need them while allowing you to enjoy your meal uninterrupted. They're also incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating, especially when it comes to dietary needs or allergies. Overall, this is the kind of place you'd choose for a special night out but could just as easily return to regularly. People need to be talking about this place more! It is something different in New Jersey with great food, great ambiance, and a liquor license! We went last night and was wowed from beginning to end. I see a negative review from a while ago but service is excellent! Our waiter was great! The owner stopped by to say hi. Just awesome! We started off with the flatbread and Stracciatella. It was so tasty and flavorful! Two of us had the steak which was excellent and one of us had the scallops which was excellent as well. Recommend all. Even the chocolate cake for dessert was yummy. Oh, I forgot to mention the cocktails. We tried a couple of them and they were all fantastic. You have to try this place! read more

Very much enjoyed our night out at Adelaide. It's very new and our service was great and the food was well executed. We ordered the steak, the pork chop, the stracciatella along with the focaccia, and the ravioli. Everything was good but I very much enjoyed the rhubarb stracciatella with the focaccia, reminded me of my grandmother own preparation. Also nice, the space is gorgeous, the staff was pleasant and the drinks delicious. Ignore the Nay-sayers with an axe to grind (pretty sure they all shared a table and just want to complain). Anyone who goes to upscale restaurants regularly won't be shocked by the pricing. I'm going 5 stars because they just opened and are already operating at a high level. read more

If you're looking for a 10/10 dinner look no further than adelaide. The service was phenomenal from start to finish. Our server and the entire staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel completely taken care of. As for the food -- absolutely immaculate! We started with the focaccia and beets, both of which disappeared in about three minutes. We then enjoyed two of the house made pastas which were incredibly fresh and full of flavor. After the pastas we had the pork cutlet (per our servers recommendation) which was absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection! Will be going back as soon as possible. Best Pork Cutlet I've Ever Had! I just had an incredible meal at Adelaide in Woodcliff Lake. The stunning open kitchen gives the whole place such a great buzz and yet incredibly welcoming. A huge thanks to the hostess, wait and bar staff for being so friendly and making us feel right at home. The food is unbelievably fresh. I'm still thinking about that pork cutlet (seriously one of the best I've ever had) and the handmade ricotta ravioli. They also have a great wine list to round it all out. 5/5! read more

First of all, the restaurant is beautiful inside. The Open Kitchen concept is great and the bar elevates the space as well. As for the food, you could tell there was a lot of thought put into the menu. Although small it is seasonal and rotates often. Everything we had was delicious. The pastas were great, the entrees stood out and unlike other places in North Jersey. The chef and the manager were amazing and made us feel very welcome in this new space. Amazing new addition to the New Jersey Restaurant scene! I went on one of the first nights they we're open and was thoroughly impressed! The food & drinks were incredible and our waiter Trevor was knowledgeable, passionate, and responsive. Favorites dishes for us were the squash, raviolli, and pork cutlet (it was amazing!). The building is extraordinary, food exquisite, the vibe is cool and the service is top shelf. No need to bring a book along, the experience will keep your attention. They are open to suggestions and feedback... we made a suggestion and recieved a text with a change they were trying.
