Local Irish pub. Bartenders are always friendly. The food isn't as good as it was before Covid, some of the classics are gone which are disappointing (rip godfather sandwich). One of my favorite places to go for a spicy Bloody Mary. I also really enjoy Pete's club. There are a lot of different options of fries, but favorite is waffle fries and my husband likes the steak fries. Family friendly or a spot to go and hang at the bar. Large parking lot which is needed because it gets busy. read more

I love Davey's, even more after moving back to Montvale and having it in walking distance! The bar here is fantastic - tons of beers on tap and in bottles, AMAZING Bloody Mary's and cocktails offered in singles and doubles, and awesome bartenders who are always incredibly observant especially for how packed the bar can get. They're all really friendly in addition to making some great cocktails. The food here is another huge bonus to having fabulous bartenders - it's the perfect pub food with a ton of options and a rotation of great specials. Their brunch menu (only offered on Sunday until 2 PM) has what my husband as well as one of our best friend's said was one of the best breakfast sandwiches he's had in a while. Everything that my husband has gotten here (and he rotates through the menu) has been great, especially some of the burger specials. As for me, I swear by the Caesar wrap with shrimp, shoestring fries, and beer cheese sauce on the side (cannot recommend adding this on this more highly!). Davey's also hosts a lot of events like a trivia night and dart night, and always has sports on the TV, which makes for a fun community vibe. This was our first visit to Davey's, but our daughter in law has been dining there since she was a kid and recommended it as a place with outdoor seating to check out. We sat on the covered patio and had great service during our visit. Dining with a toddler can be a challenge at times, but the staff at Davey's was very attentive, brought her food out first (good mac and cheese), and interacted in a fun way. I had the bacon cheese burger and fries and was very pleased with the overall flavor and presentation. The Rueben was very good also. They have a nice selection of beer including local craft options. First time here. Walked in, was greeted by two young girls, who had the look of no desire. Ordered French onion, soup and cheeseburger with bacon and fries lettuce tomato . Soup had a glob of cheese that was hard to chew, thin, slice of bread, barely any onions in a broth that was undesirable and tasteless . The cheeseburgers came with no cheese, bun should've been a softer bread, bacon, was chewy and not crisp, burger was hot in the middle and tasteless . I ordered well done fries which is what I got but they were cold. All in all, I wouldn't go back bad first impression, and when we were exiting the place smelled very unclean. read more

One of they better pubs in the North Jersey area. Davey's has been around for quite sometime & if you have ever been to this establishment, you know why. I've been going to Davey's either with friends or family since I was a kid & will continue to keep going. There's plenty of seating both inside & out for you to choose from. The bar is rather large & there are plenty of chairs for you to post up, watch a game, & enjoy a cold one. Also, during the NFL season, they have a projector screen in their main dining area for you to watch the games. There other dining area, which is located behind the bar, has tv's as well. When you go here, you definitely have to order the bar food. Their wings are some of the best around (both buffalo & crunchy) & they have a ton of tasty burgers to choose from. You can never go wrong when ordering either. I highly recommend Davey's whenever you want to just relax, watch a game, & eat some solid wings. read more

I'm so glad this place is still open for dine-in after a year since the start of the pandemic. Met up with a few friends there. Laura was our server, and she was delightful. We had drinks and full dinners including desserts. Then moved closer to the high top bar table and had a shot of apple sour mix, Just because we can. Food was good, atmosphere was fun- it's an Irish bar what else can you expect? They do have outdoor tent/tables setup but too cold to sit outside even with outdoor propane heaters. They do have good social distancing in place. Hopefully pandemic blows away and return us to the norm and boost our economy. read more

I went to Davey's right before the "blizzard". It's a pretty typical Irish pub, with large square bar in the main area with some tables for small groups in other areas. Service was friendly and took our drink orders immediately. Beer list was a bit out of date, since my first 2 choices were no longer on tap. My friend and I split an order of the spicy fried pickles as an appetizer. I was expecting pickle chips, but they were still pretty good. They were mildly spicy and served with wasabi mayo. It was kind of expensive at near $8.00 for 5 pickle spears though. (forgot to take a pic before eating) I ordered the shepherd's pie as an entree, and it came with a bowl of french onion soup. The french onion soup had tons of melted cheese and really crusty bread, but not many onions. The shepherd's pie was more meat than mashed potatoes, which is good. But they did not brown the top of the mashed potatoes like I'd find in most other shepherd's pies. I did feel a bit ripped off, because I was initially given the lunch menu, but charged dinner prices. read more

I haven't been to Davey's in years but always remember enjoying it so we popped in for a quick bite last night. We were on the earlier side for dinner and it was packed around the bar. Happy hour crowd! Now Davey's is a traditional pub but focused on Irish faire. A good selection of beers on tap and it even looked like they had complementary snacks for those around the bar attending happy hour. Our waitress was pleasant and seemed extremely happy. Not a bad thing by any means. We ordered the French onion soup to start with. I was very impressed. The soup was nice and salty and the onions were super smooth. They didn't skimp on the cheese which is my favorite part so they got extra points for that. Then we ordered the Celtic burger, fish & chips and shepherds pie. Everything was seasoned well, cooked well and the portions were huge. Overall a winner winner for a pub. read more

Best of all the atmosphere was excellent... Felt like we walked into Cheers We'll I don't live in Montvale live in Hackensack ( btw they have the finest Hackensack Brewery Beer on tap ) But we have since been back 3 times Def my favorite bar If your in this part of Bergen County Go in have a beer and blend in.
