Curry fries, Guinness, and Lagunitas IPA - all DELICIOUS!
    Allison B.

This is definitely our new favorite bar! Since moving to Montvale, my husband and I realized that we don't take advantage of Pearl River being a mile away, so headed here one night for some bar hopping. We came to Uncle Tommy's first and couldn't believe it's taken us this long to go there. Everything about Uncle Tommy's is a win - the food is DELICIOUS, the bar is beautiful and also huge, and the people who are patrons as well as working there are amazing. It's a really welcoming vibe there and the kind of place where you can go sit at the bar and have great conversations with the bartenders as well as people sitting there, which makes it that much more special. We've been fortunate to have Celine as our bartender during our visits - she's so friendly, fast, and so personable. The menu is extensive, with tons of options - all are SO GOOD. We've gotten the curry fries (highly recommend!), the mac and cheese (I think this is no lie the best mac and cheese I've ever had), and the breakfast burger (my husband said it was one of the best burgers he's had - comes with a fried egg and bacon). I cannot wait to make my way through more of the menu options... though it will be hard to have me change my order from the mind-blowing mac and cheese! I also can't wait to hit their brunch harder, especially since for $20 you can add on two hours of unlimited Bloody Mary's/mimosas - a STEAL! I now know where we'll be spending our weekends! Can't wait to try more of the menu and also get there for the live music they offer frequently. My only regret about Uncle Tommy's is that we didn't get there sooner. Cheers to a fantastic neighborhood bar that welcomes in newcomers and offers the best of everything!

Welcomed by Ro this home pub is a go, we were waiting for music at another venue, very good happenstance, love it here.

Date night with a bit of a guess. Used the Yelp suggestions. Typed in a placed that we didn't want to go to - not to be named - and wound up at Uncle Tommy's. Since we didn't order food - other than Nachos - I can't do better than 3 stars. Nachos could been beefier, but the bartender John gets this place a 4th star which could have been 3. Willing to try dinner next time. Not out of the way so we will find our way back.

Adorable. We were debating between this place and a brunchier establishment across the parking lot, but this won out largely because the sunny outdoor patio area beckoned and it seemed like the perfect spot for our outdoor eating seasonal debut. I always get a little hot and bothered when I see tater skins on an apps menu, so that was an easy call for us. The waiter told us immediately they were "homemade" and not processed - in hindsight, I'm not really sure what would distinguish them as homemade other than that they don't come out of a TGI Fridays box in the freezer, but regardless, they were tasty. A LITTLE overly fried but hard to go wrong with the almighty tater. A lot of the entrees looked intriguing but I impulsively went for the fresh burrata ravioli (a choice that visibly startled my chum, who should really be used to eating with me after all these years, but no matter). Also good - the sauce was a little watery and the accompanying pieces of garlic bread were just okay but it was a solid portion especially for lunch and didn't last long. In hindsight, I don't think this type of dish is really their bread and butter so I'd probably get something else next time, but still ultimately a win. My chum got the Chicken Caesar Wrap from the specials menu and enjoyed it - insisting that I take a picture of that as well. So enjoy that. It's here. In what was an encouraging theme, the dessert section also had a bunch of items that we both were interested in. After finding out that the bread pudding was a little TOO authentic for my palate (aka it had raisins in it), we ordered the Hudson Valley Apple Crisp. Delightful. I think it could have used a little more ice cream, but that was a pleasant palate cleanser. The real star of the show here - among an impressive list of contenders - was the service. We had a fantastic waiter who was very friendly and pleasant, with a lot of thoughts on the menu and restaurant overall. We also a brief visit from presumably someone in management/ownership who stopped by to check in on us, which was a nice touch. We were the only ones out on the patio and possibly in the entire restaurant, so arguably we SHOULD have gotten the lion's share of attention, but still. It was an intangible that legitimately and dramatically improved the overall experience, which is the ideal. I have some residual PTSD from the atrocious restaurant scene in the northern part of Rockland, but places like this ease my trauma considerably. Stick to the southern section.

In addition to having a full size bar and main dining area, the walls are adorned with very attractive wall art. Thai Chili Wings: The wings have a perfect blend of sweet and spice. As always, the blue cheese dipping sauce is the backbone to this appetizer. Bavarian Pretzel: In lieu of being shaped into a knot, the bavarian pretzel looks like a hot dog. I may not agree with the appearance, but I 100% agree with the taste. The pretzels are war and crispy on the outside while soft and doughy on the inside. And don't be shy with those helpings of pretzel salt! Steak and Arugula Sandwich: This tender, superb sandwich was cooked medium rare and served with sauteed onions & mushrooms on ciabatta bread. Classic BLT: Served on Texas toast, this sandwich has an addition of mayonnaise and avocado to supplement the three primary ingredients. Crab Cake Sandwich: For an Irish pub, this was an excellent seafood sandwich. The crab cake was breaded with panko crumbs and had a variety of toppings. The chipotle aioli sauce was the backbone to this boneless meal. As a bonus, this pub hosts special events throughout the week from Trivia Night to live bands. I suggest you head towards the houses, away from town, if you can't find a spot. I've been anxious to try this place as the pictures look solid enough and reviewers thus far seem content. My wife and I entered with plans to have beer and apps. We ended up getting Guinness, onion rings, fried calamari and the Cooper's Burger. You can't beat a 22oz Guinness for $8. The prices on their website also match what you'll see inside. Lately I find so many restaurants are charging more than they advertise online. Service was great, friendly and very attentive. I was also surprised to see how well they clean tables between customers. Spray, wipe table, wipe lamp, shakers, etc. It's totally clean for the next customer. There are only 8 or so tables in here, plus bar seating. We enjoyed some comfy seats at a high top table for two. The onion rings were great - crisp and battered nicely so they hold together. While almost a little overcooked, they were still good and better than I had at the last high end steakhouse I went to. The fried calamari was fairly priced and a good portion. It had a light crispness, though bigger pieces would've been nicer. They were mostly small, but certainly a lot of it. The accompanying marinara was good and plentiful. We got the Cooper's Burger cooked medium and it came out medium. It's a simple burger that comes with lettuce and tomato. Some red onion wouldn't been nice. They charge extra for all sorts of stuff you can get on top - fried mushrooms, fried onions, eggs, etc. It also comes with fries, which were good. Overall, it was a nice cozy time. Several middle aged couples ate here that night and a couple small groups. No loud bar crowds as they're all on central avenue. In fact, I was surprised how nice the acoustics were inside. You can hear people at your table no problem, can hear the music inside at the right level and don't hear a lot of background chatter or noise. I'd most certainly return if in the mood for pub food. And ... No credit card fee!
