Great spot with an awesome vibe loved the outdoor setup with the fire pits. Food was solid (apps + fries hit the spot) and the drinks kept COMING WOO. Chill place to hang with friends, definitely recommend. I loved the owner and bartender as well!!!!!

    Hatco French Onion Soup

I always enjoy and this time was absolutely delicious! I went overboard with ordering a little bit of everything lol and I have zero regrets! French onion soup was perfection, Burrata was unforgettable even the garlic toast on the side delicious, Steak Frites are a must try with that special steak sauce!!! To top it all off the Bread Pudding Epic! The service was excellent & knowledgeable! On a rainy night, I truly enjoyed a nice private date night!

Not just soup. Good. Hot. Tomato Bisque.

Okay. So the soup was cold. I as re-heated and still a bit cold. Why 4-stars they took it off the check. I've been here b/4 and will come back. #service. One was a Hatco Clam Chowder and Tom Bisque.

A great local eatery with fantastic food and drinks. The service is always friendly but can be a little slow on the busier nights. The flat bread pizza is a must try here. My favorite is the Bee Sting pie. Very cozy interior, the only downside is on the inside there is a cigar lounge so you can still smell smoke depending where you are seated inside. Desserts here are also a must, the strawberry ny style cheesecake is absolutely to die for. The kickin' watermelon is a nice twist on a spicy margarita with fresh and spicy jalapeños, tajin, and the perfect compliment of sweet watermelon. I highly recommend their New England style clam chowder. It's perfectly flavorful, not too heavy, and great no matter what season.

This is an upscale dining experience with a cigar bar attached. The food it's pretty good but I feel I should've gotten something different. Our table service was good not as attentive as we wanted. The dining area closed at 10 then we went to the cigar where it wasn't that busy and it took the female bartender a while to serve us. Overall I feel that this is a nice place to go if you want to enjoy a cigar and to higher grade food. I'll would definitely suggest this place to someone who wants some good food in that area.

The widest variety of a menu I've ever seen, from empanadas, flatbreads, pub grub, comfort foods like shepherds pie to fish and chips to easily the best dessert I've had. A friend and I split the applie pie ala mode and the cookie in a skillet. For appetizers I recommend the French dip sliders, "the Queen" Margherita pizza, and the mussels. For entrees, I recommend the pear and prosciutto ravioli as well as the steak. I will definitely be returning!

Chicken pot pie - very good

I had driven by once or twice and was contemplating entering the establishment myself; however, I have a keen sense for these types of locals and I felt I had to wait for an invite as such I eventually received. I was correct in my estimation, as my final determination of this spot... of which I'll get to... is that I'd walk (not run) back and would be willing to give it another guy for another event. The ambiance is quite remarkable for a Pub Flex+ type of joint. Double jointed with two floors, flexed into a bar upon entry, booths and high tables throughout... this place is quite bright and cheery. It feels like it can fit an entire hall until it actually had to... in which such a large space felt like it had been cranked by an f and cuddled a family of orphan dogs. For a gastropub the menu was short, yet sweet. I could've probably ordered anything on the menu and felt like I got an above average meal. I got the 4 leaves burger which was indeed a very above average burger accompanied by above average fries. Their duty was dutiful but did not have me barging over barrels for more. Nor did it for others, although everyone seemed to enjoy their meals in a bright and professional environment. As for lunch or dinner? I'd only come back again for work. But I've got a hinker, or maybe a tinker, that brunch in here would be quite nice. The day will come when I try it and I hope to be able to bring back better news than above average. LB usually doesn't do above average... as you know. But sometimes I like to make the unsung swan feel like a bell of a ball. What a guy. Four leaves. No regret, another notch on the belt, but no love.

We stopped in mid-week for a family dinner after work and even on a Wednesday the place was buzzing. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny, which makes for a cozy atmosphere but also means tables are very close together. If you can, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The menu is somewhat minimal, but the food overall was good. I eat gluten-free and noticed the options were a bit limited, which made ordering slightly challenging. I ended up going with the sea scallops. They were nicely cooked, but the portion was smaller than I expected--five small scallops with some vegetables. For the price, I do wish the portion had been a bit more generous. I have to admit I left still a little hungry. My dad ordered the short rib grilled cheese and really enjoyed it. That was probably the standout dish at our table. My sister ordered the honey bourbon chicken and said it was okay, but afterward she mentioned she probably should have gone with the short rib grilled cheese instead. One surprise of the night was live music on a Wednesday. I usually enjoy live music, but since we were hoping to catch up as a family it made conversation a little difficult. The music was fairly loud for such a small space. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They also have a rewards program, which worked out nicely--my dad received a complimentary dessert for his birthday. I ordered the crème brûlée, which was a great way to end the meal. A couple practical tips: parking in Ridgewood can be tricky. The restaurant advertises valet parking, though we didn't use or see it during our visit. If you find street parking, make sure to feed the meter because the town is known for giving out tickets. In warmer months they do offer some outdoor sidewalk seating, though it looks fairly limited. It also appears they have a happy hour, though we didn't arrive in time to try it. Overall, I'd recommend checking out Steel Wheel Tavern--just be mindful of the timing of your visit, especially if you're hoping for a quieter dinner.

HANDS DOWN THE WORSE EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD !! I wish I read…read morethe reviews before I wasted my time with this place. Let me start with the ambience : Nothing really to look at it's just a bar The service : service is terrible no matter where you are , the bartender need to go take some classes once their alcoholic drink have basically NO alcohol , and it's served on a dirty glass . They don't even have the excuse that was one time , because I actually ended up with 2 drinks poorly made and served on dirty glasses . If you sit as a table expect at least 30 minutes for them to even get you water . The food : they charge $21 for a stale pretzel The burger is served FROZEN on STALE bread .. and the fries are nothing but soaked in oil . Served after 30+ minutes This was not an experience , was more like a nightmare , the only reason why there's even one star is because we can't give any less .. so PLEASE save yourself the dissatisfaction and save your money to go elsewhere . OH!! And the bathroom smells terrible , I'm afraid to ask what the kitchen looks like Over priced drinks that are poorly made and frozen food is not exactly what you expect when they charge you Manhattan prices at a mediocre bar in NJ PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE !!! Don't even bother asking for a manager or the Owner ( I was told her name is Maria ) , I tried reaching out to them with no response . There really wasn't much to not like about this spot, even if we were a bit apprehensive after looking at the reviews We strolled in at about 6 PM on a warm spring Friday evening and, to my surprise, unlike some of the more popular restaurants in the area, this restaurant had plenty of tables open . That definitely made me a bit hesitant considering how nice of an evening it was and, whenever there is nice weather, the popular restaurants get absolutely jam packed. We were seated quickly at a booth and, as the evening wore on, the restaurant did become a bit busier, but it still wasn't at capacity. The menu was pretty standard tavern/pub-style fare with a variety of different appetizers, salads, entrees, burgers, pizzas and sandwiches. Here's a quick run through of what we ordered: TAVERN STEAK SANDWICH - Like almost everything we ordered, this was EXCELLENT. Although it wasn't 100% what I expected, this was absolutely freakin' delicious. I was expecting the ribeye slices to be a little thicker, but to be fair it did say "thinly sliced" on the menu. Simply put, this was a cheesesteak with onions, roasted peppers and provolone cheese on a super fluffy and soft demi baguette and it was ... PERFECT. Quite frankly, I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and good it was. There were also some fries that accompanied it. I will nitpick and say that the plate was oddly huge for the fries and sandwich, but there was nothing wrong with the sandwich at all. BLACKENED CHICKEN SANDWICH - The blackened chicken was served between 2 slices of Texas Toast and had guacamole, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato. It was well put together and decent, but we thought this was the one item that fell flat for us. Like I said, it was decent, but seemed ordinary and didn't blow us away in anyway. KIDS PEPPERONI FLATBREAD - Another winner here. First of all, this "kid's" flatbread was essentially a personal artisan pizza pie and could have easily fed a single adult. The pizza came out piping hot and was shockingly delicious. Sadly, typically I feel restaurants tend to neglect the kids menu and just give them simple things to eat that don't taste all that great or don't come close to comparing to the regular menu, BUT not here. There were so many roni cups on the pizza that there were tons of them hiding underneath the cheese and stacked 2, 3, 4 deep! KIDS PASTA ELBOW MACARONI WITH CHEESE SAUCE (aka MAC N CHEESE) - Yet, another shockingly good kids menu item. The elbow macaroni came out drowning in hot, gooey cheese. Although it looked quite simple, it was ... and dare I say this ... one of the BEST mac and cheeses I've had in my life. It was very, very good. The food was great, the service was very good and we loved the amount of space inside. There were 4 flat screen TVs, by the bar, for those just wanting to hang out for a drink and there were also outdoor tables as well. Like I said, it's quite shocking that The Office wasn't jammed packed to the gills like Steel Wheel Tavern or any other spot in Ridgewood, but, for us, it was the perfect atmosphere with as good of a menu as anywhere.
