Kinderkamack. A king of all roads with the notion and the motion... it's provided love potion to the entire county. Early summer days. Luncheon. My lungs are filled with the piney air. Iago is a traitor, but my silence speaks more ample than ever in these moments. Oh how I enjoy the camaraderie but do miss the days of which I could observe rather than participate. Something soothing, suave and suggestive in my serenity. You'll never know about it, Brutus. Anyways. All hearth, no tap. But I've popped a guinny or two here so that's a lie in the more literal term of tap in this scenario. Those who know, know that Hearth and Tap is more than a dive bar. It's a gastropub, of which I've enjoyed from time to time. The food is good. They have good burgers. They have good other stuff. The interior is rustic. It's Smokey from the drizzle and sizzle of cigar smoke. The upstairs rooms are pretty chill. The patio is poppin' with businessmen, businesswomen and locals. Not that I take notice. Nor do I notice them eyeing me down from clavicle to popsicle. Get framemogged son. The moon landing was real and there's nothing you can do about it, narc. Moonmogged. Would be happy to go again. Will be happy when I do. Happiness overwhelms me consistently and so this isn't saying much. But nonetheless Horatio, my lovely and loyal confidant, I never lead you astray. Service was good and food was good as well at the Hearth and Tap this visit. We ordered two of the special appetizers and each were just okay. The empanadas would have been very good if cooked a bit longer since they were a bit gummy inside. The shrimp ceviche was served in red sauce and was absent of a decent amount of shrimp. It was tasty but more of a salsa rather than a ceviche. The rib special lacked the promise of the flavors of the chipotle bbq sauce that was promised and described in the menu -- the pork lacked flavor. The chicken Milanese appeared to have been deep fried in a fryer rather than pan fried per tradition. This made the thin slices a bit tough and chewy which was unexpected. Disappointing that I didn't listen to my server who tried to steer me in a different direction as he advised. We haven't been wowed here the last three visits but will give it another shot in a few weeks to see if things have changed for the better. Listen to your servers, people!! read more

This is a tough place to rate because some aspects are a total turn off, but they have some strong points. There's adequate parking in the lot. They have outside seating and a fire if you'd like to sit there with drinks. However, you might smell cigars even out in the parking lot as this is a cigar bar. You'll immediately smell smoke as soon as your walk in the front door. That's enough to turn away people, however, the dining room I ate in wasn't too bad. Once you were inside, you got used to the atmosphere. Some decor is cozy, but parts also feel dated. Standards here are mid. Think of it like a pub. Some menus placed on our table were ripped and even words totally missing. Most foods that came out of the kitchen were tasty. I don't think anyone in my party was unhappy. The person next to me said their steak didn't have much seasoning. Mussels were fresh, pickle chips were addicting, brussel sprouts were tasty, shrimp/chorizo was ok and came with a delicious garlic bread to dip. My Paloma cocktail was nice, especially the slices on the rim. Good size pour and made to order as I asked for it without the agave. Came out great, though not the strongest. I drank two and didn't feel too buzzed. Service was good. Our server was friendly, remembered details and did an overall great job with our table of about 12. This place is ok if you're looking for a pub and can tolerate a bit of smoke aroma. read more

I will start off by saying the food was absolutely amazing and if this was a review solely on the food or I had done takeout it would probably be a 5 star review. The everything pretzel was delicious as was the F&P flatbread. I was not completely thrilled of the service though. I was shocked to see there was valet as I have been here a ton and have never had valet. The parking lot is also huge and the place wasn't packed so I found it a bit unnecessary. When I arrived I asked for a table. I was seated at a table on the opposite side of the fireplace. I was shocked to find that was the only heating source upstairs. The table by the wall was very drafty and I was shivering. I asked to move to the booths before my friends came and it was warmer but still really drafty up there. They need some more heating if they're going to seat people up there. Perhaps a split heater/ac unit or something. Our waitress was nice, but seemed to be in a rush to get out. We made sure to pay as soon as we were done eating and cleared the table so she could get out which she did. Within 5 mins of her leaving another waitress told us we couldn't sit any longer but were welcome to go to the bar. It was not what I was expecting and I was disappointed. The entire reason I'm leaving this review is because i just had the greatest chicken pot pie I have ever had in my entire life last night at this place. Service was friendly and attentive from the host, to the server, and even the food runners. The ambiance is cozy, and I love the outdoor fireplace. However, I still can't shake how great that Chicken Pot Pie was. I could eat those every day for the rest of my life, and I would be happy. read more

A great local eatery with fantastic food and drinks. The service is always friendly but can be a little slow on the busier nights. The flat bread pizza is a must try here. My favorite is the Bee Sting pie. Very cozy interior, the only downside is on the inside there is a cigar lounge so you can still smell smoke depending where you are seated inside. Desserts here are also a must, the strawberry ny style cheesecake is absolutely to die for. The kickin' watermelon is a nice twist on a spicy margarita with fresh and spicy jalapeños, tajin, and the perfect compliment of sweet watermelon. I highly recommend their New England style clam chowder. It's perfectly flavorful, not too heavy, and great no matter what season. read more

This is an upscale dining experience with a cigar bar attached. The food it's pretty good but I feel I should've gotten something different. Our table service was good not as attentive as we wanted. The dining area closed at 10 then we went to the cigar where it wasn't that busy and it took the female bartender a while to serve us. Overall I feel that this is a nice place to go if you want to enjoy a cigar and to higher grade food. I really struggled with leaving a low review because we used to really enjoy this place and I think the managers try hard to make sure everyone is happy. Mostly the low rating was for the server we had and the heavy smell of cigar smoke (although we sat on the patio). The server had the audacity to ask about the tip we left. I seriously contemplated not leaving anything at all so I thought 15% was generous. I itemized all the things that were wrong and she acted as if we didn't say anything so it was our fault? Meanwhile we asked for kids' waters 3 times and so ultimately I went in to the bar to get them myself. The only way my son's order was corrected was the manager walking around to see if everyone was ok. His kids meal was up-charged $2 more than the menu stated and her Mac n cheese was oddly spicy. The widest variety of a menu I've ever seen, from empanadas, flatbreads, pub grub, comfort foods like shepherds pie to fish and chips to easily the best dessert I've had. A friend and I split the applie pie ala mode and the cookie in a skillet. For appetizers I recommend the French dip sliders, "the Queen" Margherita pizza, and the mussels. For entrees, I recommend the pear and prosciutto ravioli as well as the steak. I will definitely be returning! read more

Was there today with a large group. Due to a local water main break, the restaurant did not have running water starting at 8 AM, yet they remained open and had our luncheon at noon. Little by little we discovered the problem as we attempted to use the rest rooms. The situation was unacceptable and poorly handled. I have been here before, and I have to say that on a good day, this place is sub-par. Stinks of old cigar smoke, and management doesn't seem to care about patron experience or safety. Literally my favorite type of spot! A great Irish gastropub here and I was planning my return mid bite, so you know it's good. Very cozy and rustic vibe that makes you feel like you're in an old school Irish pub, but with a modern twist and elevated eats. Apparently there is a cigar bar in a different space (definitely want to return for this). Went with a burger, as I always do in an Irish pub with no second thought...this one was awesome. 21 day age need blend topped with bacon and a crispy onion ring, so good! We came here with a big group and they accommodated us well. There was plenty of seating, and also parking lot is big. They were even able to split checks (for 10 people), although I don't know if this is the norm. As for the food, I ordered the chicken pot pie (based on Yelp recommendations) and enjoyed it. Its fairly big, and also very creamy. Great value at just over $10. Note that sides are on the pricey side, at over $10 each. A few people on the table ordered the t bone steak, which looked really good. Came for lunch and sat outside. I took a quick stroll inside and the place is very large. Not only do they have two bars, they also sell cigars/cash only. There is plenty of parking, as well. The outdoor seating area is very nice, has a fireplace, and a wall mounted television.... nicely positioned where every customer can view. Our server was very cordial, gave us good recommendations, and checked on us at nice intervals. We started with classic Margaritas and it was amazing. The drinks were strong, refreshing, well crafted, and the rim salt was perfect. Our Summer Salad was OUTSTANDING. the mixture of the raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, walnuts, spinach, and goat cheese were incredible. The raspberry vinegrette dressing was delicious and the salad is the perfect size to share. Our entrees, Irish Cuban Sandwich and the Chicken Quesadillas were very good. Not sure if this place is under new ownership. Used to love this place but last night was horrendous. At dinner beers ordered were incorrect for 2 in our party and bad/sour for another 2. Herders pie was salty and oily. At bar, there is no liquor menu which creates a guessing game between you and bartender. Really disappointing. read more
