I've heard lots of great things about this place from my neighborhood Facebook group.. after a night of not wanting to cook, we decided to stop in. Parking lot was busier than the Restaurant. The staff was welcoming and friendly. We ordered simple items; open faced reuben and a salmon wrap. Both were good but nothing mesmerizing; perhaps you need to order larger entree.

A lovely solo guitarist whom didn't play too loud and was the perfect backdrop to brunch. Also engaged with the patrons to see if they had any requests. Parking is super easy as not only do you have their lot but you can also park within the shopping center at Boulder run. We arrived at the perfect time because there was a steady flow of people coming in through the rest of the afternoon and it got quite busy. Our waiter, whose name I did not catch, was very attentive and pleasant. He went over the menu and I appreciated that they had their regular menu items in addition to the brunch menu of selections. We all opted for brunch except for one in our party who had the burger, which was fantastic. I do wish the breakfast potatoes were cooked a little more crispy, but flavor was on point.

Considered the veggie burger but there was no description, just "our blend" which could mean just about anything (ask any vegetarian) I've had my share of lousy veggie burgers after so many decades and it's generally not the kind of thing most servers can describe well. On the other hand, husband loved his burger and staff was very friendly.

To be clear, the high tops are the booths you also see in pictures (we were confused ahead of walking in). It's definitely elevated bar food with a bit of pizzaz!! We ordered WAY too much food but wanted to try a lot of things. We went for a bunch of apps and then shared the bolognese which I also really enjoyed. The cocktails are top tier. An ex Hoboken girlie, I have a very specific standards to cocktails and this places knocks it out the park. The waitress was wildly helpful (suggestions and attentive) and she was funny, brownie points! New staple for us, go check it out

Our server was very pleasant and made us feel welcome right away. We went on a Sunday evening, and the back dining area was almost empty. If you're looking for a livelier vibe, the front is probably the better choice, but the back works great for something more quiet and intimate. I was craving the bolognese, but they were out that night, so we ordered the candied nut and beet salad and the pepperoni pizza with honey. Both were very good, but the salad definitely made more of a "wow" impression. Overall, we had a really pleasant time.

We asked for ranch, but what came out looked and tasted like a cheesy dip (as pictured- you can literally see chunks of cheese in it). We even compared it side by side with their Caesar dressing which was same texture, just a different color. Isn't ranch supposed to be creamy? The French dip sandwich was another letdown. The roast beef was super dry, barely any pink, and the au jus sauce looked like the last bit scraped from the bottom of the pot. Very light in color when it should be a rich dark brown. One look and I knew it wouldn't taste right. Then came the burger, which was so undercooked that the blood soaked through the bottom bun (as pictured). The waitress never even asked how we wanted it cooked. Overall, I'd come back here for a drink but I'd skip the food next time.

The restaurant is very pretty overall, though the interior is quite dim, making it difficult to read the menu without additional light. The tables were also placed fairly close together. Our server was polite and welcoming throughout the evening. We started with the Korean fried chicken and tuna tataki. The chicken was moist and coated in a sweet and spicy sauce. The tuna tataki was flavorful; however, the taro chips were very thin and tended to break easily when holding the tuna. For our main courses, we ordered the Icelandic cod, rigatoni, Freebird chicken, and a side of whipped potatoes. Dessert was the hazelnut chocolate crunch, which was a nice way to end the meal. Overall, the food was enjoyable. That said, the pricing felt more in line with a fine dining experience, while the atmosphere and service were closer to an upscale casual restaurant. Some small details, such as the whipped potatoes being served without a serving spoon, stood out. While minor, these details can make a difference, especially at this price point.

A cozy, very popular Ridgewood spot with good food--but come prepared for tight seating and a…read morelively atmosphere. We stopped in mid-week for a family dinner after work and even on a Wednesday the place was buzzing. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny, which makes for a cozy atmosphere but also means tables are very close together. If you can, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The menu is somewhat minimal, but the food overall was good. I eat gluten-free and noticed the options were a bit limited, which made ordering slightly challenging. I ended up going with the sea scallops. They were nicely cooked, but the portion was smaller than I expected--five small scallops with some vegetables. For the price, I do wish the portion had been a bit more generous. I have to admit I left still a little hungry. My dad ordered the short rib grilled cheese and really enjoyed it. That was probably the standout dish at our table. My sister ordered the honey bourbon chicken and said it was okay, but afterward she mentioned she probably should have gone with the short rib grilled cheese instead. One surprise of the night was live music on a Wednesday. I usually enjoy live music, but since we were hoping to catch up as a family it made conversation a little difficult. The music was fairly loud for such a small space. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They also have a rewards program, which worked out nicely--my dad received a complimentary dessert for his birthday. I ordered the crème brûlée, which was a great way to end the meal. A couple practical tips: parking in Ridgewood can be tricky. The restaurant advertises valet parking, though we didn't use or see it during our visit. If you find street parking, make sure to feed the meter because the town is known for giving out tickets. In warmer months they do offer some outdoor sidewalk seating, though it looks fairly limited. It also appears they have a happy hour, though we didn't arrive in time to try it. Overall, I'd recommend checking out Steel Wheel Tavern--just be mindful of the timing of your visit, especially if you're hoping for a quieter dinner.
