Stopped in on a Monday night for dinner with friends and this spot is a hidden gem in Oakland…read more There is both a bar side and a restaurant side for seating. We opted for the bar side, which is all high top seating. Our server Katie was great. We started off with some draft beers while reviewing their menus. Then started with an order of their tots to start. They were a little bit large not as oversized as I thought and only came with 7 to an order. They are stuffed with bacon and chives, and come with a delicious chipotle dipping sauce. For main courses we ordered the flatiron steak sandwich and the fish n chips. The fish n chips is always a gamble but here it did not disappoint. The fish was not greasy and cooked thoroughly with a crisp batter, yet the fish inside remained delicate and flavorful. The fries were also perfectly seasoned and crisp. The flatiron steak was pretty good as well I opted for mozzarella cheese because I am not a Brie person. The steak has a nice rosemary kick and horseradish aioli on it as well. The sweet potato waffles fries are a must as they are crunchy and thin but perfectly salted. Pricing here is also very reasonable as well. There is ample parking as they have their own lot but the shopping center lot.

The two sliders (cooked rare with cheddar ale cheese and raw onion) were outstanding. That soft little bun topped with a generous, melty glop of cheddar ale cheese was absolutely delicious. The prime rib practically melted in your mouth, and that creamy horseradish spread tied everything together without overpowering the meat.

This restaurant is in a Marriott situated in a business park, and it is definitely managed to focus…read moreon the business week and business traveler. We were there on a Saturday evening, so the restaurant was almost empty. I started with the potato leek soup, a house specialty, and it was particularly good - very creamy with good flavor (potato leek soup can often be bland). That raised my expectations for the rest of the meal. My wife and I shared the salt and pepper calamari and banana peppers with wasabi aioli and marinara dipping sauces. This was also pretty good. Note: there was a lot more wasabi than aioli in that particular dip. For the entree, I had fish and chips. The fish was fine - a little wet/slimy between the fish and batter, but the batter was crisp and the Cod had good taste. The chips were typical steak fries from a bag. My wife had the glazed salmon with haricot verts and fingerling potatoes, which were all good. Also of note, the kitchen was very accommodating of my wife's Alpha-Gal Syndrome food allergies, ensuring everything was cooked in a clean pan with no dairy, gluten, or mammal product cross-contamination. The bill (including taxes), with two glasses of wine and a gin and tonic, came to ~$97. Regarding the service, there was only the bartender waiting tables. Thankfully, he was on top of everything. The manager occasionally coming through to help. Overall: Good, but not worth the price unless you are on a business trip (i.e., you have limited time and someone else is paying).

If you're visiting, you absolutely have to try: * The Beef Brisket: It was incredibly tender, perfectly smoked, and had a great bark. Came in for a later dinner quick bite to eat. I am not sure what the energy was there tonight but…read moreit was not a great meal in anyway. Service was perhaps understaffed or the people they have waiting tables were missing common sense (or their brains altogether). It took over 10 minutes of people walking past us to get anyone's attention and there were ample tables open yet we were not seating until one of the tables being used left and was cleaned. We ordered appetizers and two meals. I ordered the loaded baked potato soup in a bowl, a cup came out and thank goodness. It was terrible. Tasted like pepper heavy cream some cheese and a few measly bacon bits. Our server or any server was nowhere to be found to even complain to. We ordered our go to Cajun rub wings which were delicious as usual except them came out with blue cheese. Our server didn't ask if we had a preference or ranch or blue cheese which is fine that was not much of an issue. I said we wanted to start with appetizers and then order meals in a bit once we decide and if we were still hungry. We order this way every time and it's never been an issue. I kid you not our server walked away for a minute tops after telling us to,"take all the time you need", asking,"so you decide yet?" We opted for a pulled turkey cheese steak and large pork and fries. My cheesesteak I had to coach thru the entire ordering process. I asked for a side salad. Was not asked the dressing type or anything. Once I main meals came out someone else brought them to the table. I had no salad dressing and all of the staff were nowhere to be found. So I started to eat the salad dry. Finally our server comes over and asks how everything is. I asked for salad dressing and he runs off and brings me back blue cheese without asking. I said no thank you I will not eat blue cheese I'd like oil and vinegar please. Getting the check took forever. Then once he dropped it off another maybe 10-15 minutes to get my card run. This is not the Finks we know and are used to and enjoy. The other server seemed to constantly be giving dirty looks and was vaping within the restaurant between tables, like are you kidding me extremely unprofessional?! Very disappointed in our meal and service. Especially the fact it was not even busy at all. We paid our bill and left just in time because the entire bar side smell of cigarettes was creeping over as if people were smoking inside. Safe to say I do not think we will be returning to this location sadly.
