Very good burgers, fries (and, dare I say, even salad), but a bit on the pricier side for the cost-conscious. Our family swung by on a cold, winter late Sunday morning at around 11:45am ahead of the lunch rush and, since we were so early, we had our pick of tables insides. The restaurant isn't huge, but has plenty of tables and seats still, including a full size bar. In the spring, summer, fall, on those nice, warm days, they can open their garage-style doors to let the breeze flow in .... but not on this freezing day. We were greeted by Zach, as he was our server throughout, and we were immediately presented with their menus, which happened to be on a tablet. We had done our research waayyyyyy ahead of time and one thing that we noticed as we were researching what to eat was how pricey all of the burgers were - granted they do serve grass-fed beef, elk, bison and wagyu - which are rare to come to by, but, nevertheless every burger was anywhere from $9-$24. And, this was JUST the burger without any sides/fries/onion rings. Luckily, we noticed that they had a 4 Wagyu Smashes with Fries deal for $30 listed on their website menu and, for our family of 4, it was pretty much the most economical thing we could order. For our kids, it really didn't matter if they were eating beef, elk or bison, in fact, it probably was more preferable to eat beef, due to the flavor of the meat, so we went with that. Oddly, neither the 4 Wagyu Smashes with Fries deal nor the other Wagyu Smash deal for 2 burgers was not listed on the tablet we were given when we sat down, but we asked if the 4 Wagyu Smash deal was available and they said it was. Can't imagine how many people actually just order 4 Wagyu Smashes and Fries for the full price, which would probably run about $49!!! So, we saved almost $20 just because we knew there was such a burger deal on the menu. However, it did seem like we didn't have a whole lot of fries despite it supposedly being 4 orders. Anyhowwwww, we asked for just 2 of the burgers to be cooked well done, but they ended up making all 4 well done. A bit of a boo boo there. Luckily, the burgers were still VERY, VERY good, despite being overcooked. Can't imagine how much more juicier they would have been if just cooked at medium. The fries were also solid as well. Besides the burgers, my better half also ordered the Jersey Shrimp Salad - small. Once again, the small size wasn't listed on the tablet menu, but we were aware of it because of our research of their online menu. Salad was shockingly really tasty and there were 6 shrimps in the salad. We loved that we had plenty of space with our kids at the time we went. In fact, from the start to the end of our meal, the entire restaurant was just patronized by families with young children. If it did get crowded, which I can imagine it does on Fridays, Saturdays and during the nicer weather months, it could feel a bit tighter. The burgers were very good and so were the fries, but it would absolutely make sense if the restaurant listed the 2 or 4 Wagyu Smashes and Fries deals on the tablet menu instead of just on their website menu. In this day and age, with inflation impacting everyone, it's a bit challenging for every family, even us, to eat at Bareburger considering there are so many more cost-effective options for burgers, but if you don't mind the costs, Bareburger's got your burger craving covered!

A great family spot for lunch on the less busy side of the street. Like the open, airy interior along with the spacious seating. It was super quick to get seating for lunch at 2pm on a Saturday (basically empty aside from a few tables). The servers were attentive and very accommodating (we had two 3 year olds in our company of 4 adults). Paper, crayons, and lidded water cups immediately disbursed. Menus are iPads. Our food arrived at our table under 7-10 minutes, perfect for very hungry adults. Enjoyed the cheesesteak sandwich and American smash burger with an order of shareable French fries served and a side of ranch. I'm a big fan of smash burgers and glad to try their version of it. It was the perfect portion for me but for others may be a tad on the small side. Cheesesteak was a big portion and perfect amount for my hubby. His drink was also immediately refilled which was quite nice. The regular and sweet potato fries were really tasty. It was too easy to keep going back for more! Didn't partake in the dessert as we already had our eyes set on the Haagen Daz across the street.

Great service with great food! I haven't been here in years and was happy to see a great lunch special. It includes a sandwich/burger and only & $1 extra for fries and a fountain drink. We stopped coming here as often due to the high prices but these specials have been so reasonable lately. It has become a perfect lunch spot especially on a nice day being able to sit outside and enjoy the Main Street in Ridgewood! I hope the continue to implement these summer promotions!

Came in on a Saturday, we were seated upon entering. ANGELO was our server. He was friendly and attentive. I ordered the standard burger and the peach bum cocktail. Angelo brought us waters as we waited for our drinks. Once drinks were out our food came shortly thereafter. The drink was okay, I did not taste much peach but it was refreshing nonetheless. The burger was tender, cooked medium, and the grilled onions were flavorful. They have large TVs, a big bar area and outdoor seating. Thanks Angelo!

My husband and I came here and we decided to sit at the bar. What I really enjoyed about this spot was everything was very fresh it seemed like far to table which we both really love alot. We really don't care too much about the commercialized places. We both decided to get burgers and they were really delicious. The bartender was really nice too and let us order off the happy hour with only 10 mins of it being over , that was really nice of her. We made it just I time before the crowd came in. I definitely recommend coming here and checking this spot out.

We stopped in mid-week for a family dinner after work and even on a Wednesday the place was buzzing. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny, which makes for a cozy atmosphere but also means tables are very close together. If you can, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The menu is somewhat minimal, but the food overall was good. I eat gluten-free and noticed the options were a bit limited, which made ordering slightly challenging. I ended up going with the sea scallops. They were nicely cooked, but the portion was smaller than I expected--five small scallops with some vegetables. For the price, I do wish the portion had been a bit more generous. I have to admit I left still a little hungry. My dad ordered the short rib grilled cheese and really enjoyed it. That was probably the standout dish at our table. My sister ordered the honey bourbon chicken and said it was okay, but afterward she mentioned she probably should have gone with the short rib grilled cheese instead. One surprise of the night was live music on a Wednesday. I usually enjoy live music, but since we were hoping to catch up as a family it made conversation a little difficult. The music was fairly loud for such a small space. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They also have a rewards program, which worked out nicely--my dad received a complimentary dessert for his birthday. I ordered the crème brûlée, which was a great way to end the meal. A couple practical tips: parking in Ridgewood can be tricky. The restaurant advertises valet parking, though we didn't use or see it during our visit. If you find street parking, make sure to feed the meter because the town is known for giving out tickets. In warmer months they do offer some outdoor sidewalk seating, though it looks fairly limited. It also appears they have a happy hour, though we didn't arrive in time to try it. Overall, I'd recommend checking out Steel Wheel Tavern--just be mindful of the timing of your visit, especially if you're hoping for a quieter dinner.

We were given complimentary focaccia with olives and pickled eggplant. The focaccia was delicious and served in bite-sized cubes. For our mains we got the cacio e pepe and margherita pizza. Both weren't bad and I enjoyed the interesting pasta shape for the cacio e pepe. We were given a complimentary small birthday cake and limoncello shot which was really nice and cute and as we were leaving we also each received two lemon drop cookies. The restaurant is very pretty overall, though the interior is quite dim, making it difficult to read the menu without additional light. The tables were also placed fairly close together. The tuna tataki was flavorful; however, the taro chips were very thin and tended to break easily when holding the tuna. For our main courses, we ordered the Icelandic cod, rigatoni, Freebird chicken, and a side of whipped potatoes. Dessert was the hazelnut chocolate crunch, which was a nice way to end the meal. Overall, the food was enjoyable. That said, the pricing felt more in line with a fine dining experience, while the atmosphere and service were closer to an upscale casual restaurant. There really wasn't much to not like about this spot, even if we were a bit apprehensive after looking at the reviews We strolled in at about 6 PM on a warm spring Friday evening and, to my surprise, unlike some of the more popular restaurants in the area, this restaurant had plenty of tables open . That definitely made me a bit hesitant considering how nice of an evening it was and, whenever there is nice weather, the popular restaurants get absolutely jam packed. We were seated quickly at a booth and, as the evening wore on, the restaurant did become a bit busier, but it still wasn't at capacity. The menu was pretty standard tavern/pub-style fare with a variety of different appetizers, salads, entrees, burgers, pizzas and sandwiches. Here's a quick run through of what we ordered: TAVERN STEAK SANDWICH - Like almost everything we ordered, this was EXCELLENT. Although it wasn't 100% what I expected, this was absolutely freakin' delicious. I was expecting the ribeye slices to be a little thicker, but to be fair it did say "thinly sliced" on the menu. Simply put, this was a cheesesteak with onions, roasted peppers and provolone cheese on a super fluffy and soft demi baguette and it was ... PERFECT. Quite frankly, I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and good it was. There were also some fries that accompanied it. I will nitpick and say that the plate was oddly huge for the fries and sandwich, but there was nothing wrong with the sandwich at all. BLACKENED CHICKEN SANDWICH - The blackened chicken was served between 2 slices of Texas Toast and had guacamole, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato. It was well put together and decent, but we thought this was the one item that fell flat for us. Like I said, it was decent, but seemed ordinary and didn't blow us away in anyway. KIDS PEPPERONI FLATBREAD - Another winner here. First of all, this "kid's" flatbread was essentially a personal artisan pizza pie and could have easily fed a single adult. The pizza came out piping hot and was shockingly delicious. Sadly, typically I feel restaurants tend to neglect the kids menu and just give them simple things to eat that don't taste all that great or don't come close to comparing to the regular menu, BUT not here. There were so many roni cups on the pizza that there were tons of them hiding underneath the cheese and stacked 2, 3, 4 deep! KIDS PASTA ELBOW MACARONI WITH CHEESE SAUCE (aka MAC N CHEESE) - Yet, another shockingly good kids menu item. The elbow macaroni came out drowning in hot, gooey cheese. Although it looked quite simple, it was ... and dare I say this ... one of the BEST mac and cheeses I've had in my life. It was very, very good. The food was great, the service was very good and we loved the amount of space inside. There were 4 flat screen TVs, by the bar, for those just wanting to hang out for a drink and there were also outdoor tables as well. Like I said, it's quite shocking that The Office wasn't jammed packed to the gills like Steel Wheel Tavern or any other spot in Ridgewood, but, for us, it was the perfect atmosphere with as good of a menu as anywhere.

[Blowing on my nails.] The menu is a mix of American comfort food and gastropub classics, but with flair, and has a bit of everything to satisfy different palates. Our eyes were probably bigger than our stomachs as we ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 cocktails, and it was an enormous amount of food. The portions are definitely what you'd call hearty, and everything was very tasty. Thursdays are all day happy hour so we picked the fried calamari appetizer at the HH price (still a full and generous plate and didn't seem like a downsized version) which were tender and well-battered, as well as the hot honey wings which were meaty and substantial. The short rib parpadelle with housemade pasta and a perfectly medium-rare, well seasoned hanger steak with truffle fries completed our satisfying and belly-stuffing meal. The cocktails are serious as well - the presence of a drink with egg white is my personal litmus test for a bar that knows what it's doing, so the Thyme to Bloom special had my name on it. I'm salivating just looking at photos of dishes I didn't order, and am already plotting my return!
