Dear Yelp, Visited here on a Friday night. Dear husband and daughter loved it. Hotdog sauce was amazing, fries perfectly crispy and milkshakes delicious. I can't say the same. Their food was brought to the table but I was told mine wasn't ready and would be out soon. Sat there for 5 minutes. Worker forgot so I had to go up to the counter to get it. Same worker looked at me and asked if I needed help. I replied I needed my burger (that had been sitting there, same burger she told me would be out soon). Burger was lackluster: I give 2 stars, my family gives 5. We compromised on 4 since they absolutely loved their meals and experience. If they ever want to go again, I'll stay home. I love getting the hot dog all the way. The Italian sandwich is spectacular. Service was very polite and food came out fast. The ambiance was good it felt like it was old school and the food hadn't been changed that much since it opens which is good. My only thing is I wish the onion rings were beer batted and not breaded but overall great place for the famous all the way hotdog. read more

I've been coming to Belmont since I was a student right up the hill at Willy P! My wife and I were around the area this past weekend and we wanted to take a trip down memory lane by visiting one of our favorite spots. My go-to has and always will be the Buffalo chicken wrap which was as good as I remember! Friggin fantastic. Blue cheese on it; cooked to perfection. I've been going here for over 25 years. They have switched owner a few times, but the war with Haledon Grill is over and Belmont Grill has won! Everybody thinks their local grill is the best or has the best sauce. I have been to so many grilles and they are all basically the same. Unfortunately many did not survive Covid. Belmont Grill is still open and is superior than the other grilles for a couple reasons. Cleanliness and consistency are probably the main factors. Those other grilles get pretty dingy, their employees are sometimes rude and the food is inconsistent. Not at Belmont Grill. I've never had a bad experience and I've had everything on the menu many times. The restaurant is always clean. The staff has always been friendly and the food has always been delicious. My only complaint is the use of styrofoam plates! They are open for pickup or dine in and I think they still do delivery but I'm not sure. They have a great outdoor dining area and are conveniently located. If your looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat with a big selection, be sure to check out the Belmont Grill. read more

Nice local spot in town with good food that's super reasonably priced. Located just outside the gates of William Paterson University this is a great spot for hamburgers, hotdogs, wraps, sandwiches, and salads. The biggest selling point here is the great prices. I come here quite often and the food is always delicious and ready in 10 min or less. They hustle and run a great business. I am personally a fan of the turkey club wrap, or buffalo chicken wrap. My wife is obsessed with the "cutlet melt". I would recommend coming here for sure. Its nothing fancy but its good. read more

I will say it was a mutually beneficial experience throughout Covid to have the Grill nearby. The new management has many of the original recipes including the chili sauce which is available in a container for fry dipping. It's probably one of the best values for a Greek salad in the area; please rinse & recycle your container. Their tuna is addicting to note that we should not eat too much tuna because of Mercury but they have the salad with tuna on top special that's a nice one too. You have to call for the specials; lots of fish on Friday. They do have outdoor seating as well on a deck with umbrellas and are nice; you'll see regulars. I ordered delivery: double cheeseburger, grilled chicken gyro, cheese fries, and onion rings. The food arrived within 45 minutes and was warm. My husband said was the cheeseburger was good. But my gyro (basically a grilled chicken wrap with tzatziki sauce) had no flavor whatsoever. I had to add salt, etc so I only had half. The cheese fries had a slice of American Cheese on it, melted. The onion rings were thick, and didn't seem like the frozen kind. Overall, this place isnt too bad. Keep in mind that unless you add tip when placing the order you have to give cash. read more

Always meant to review this place. Used to go here as a grad student at WP and always got the hot dogs, but now I have upgraded to the chicken cutlet sandwiches, which are really good. They have one with honey mustard, cheddar, tomatoes, and it is pressed like a grilled cheese on rye. Really solid place overall. Good chocolate chip cookies,, too. Fast counter service read more

I hate to write a bad review, as I've been a customer here for years (literally over 12 years), but unfortunately after an issue that happened with my bf today, I must WARN other customers to have exact change for a delivery or you'll be 'banned' from ordering here. He had placed an order this week and had a $50. When the delivery girl arrived she said she didn't have change and he should have told her before (first of all, what? you're doing a delivery that's cash, why don't you have change?) . Secondly, he lives less than a mile down the road and she could have went back to the place, gotten change, and came back in less than 5 minutes. Instead, she repeated he should have told her beforehand to have change and then she LEFT with the food. Fast forward to today, he called to order and they said he was banned per the owner because the delivery girl went back and said he tried to take the food out of her hands and NOT pay. 10000% not what happened. Someone was trying to save her own a**. The owner, John, called him back and was not super helpful/friendly and asked 'well what do you want to do' and that was it. No, "hey let's remedy this and there's no ban, etc" NOTHING. You've lost two LONG TIME customers, PLUS all family members who order from here. Great service, Belmont Grill. read more

If you are craving GOOD hot dogs, this is not the place.I only came here cuz I didn't want to take the ride to Fair Lawn (Johnny and hinges) or to Clifton ( the hot Grill) and sadly the The haledon grill burnt down some years ago. I asked for dogs all the way it was SOO disappointing. The meat sauce, if that's what it was; Tasted like tin can. The meat from the hot dog was not beef, you can literally taste the byproduct. Good for them for being open for so long but this will be the only time I visit. First impression is key NO matter what situation. They only get one star because I can't choose to give them less. read more

My number one pet peeve when I go out to eat, I don't want to see or know your political leanings. I don't care if you republican, democrat, independent, socialist, stoner, etc. I see a political bumper sticker sitting on your wall, you loss my future business unless of course the food is magical. Well there's a wall of photos and Mitt Romney bumper stick from 2012. I was there in late 2013, so the owner had year to figure out that he lost and take the sticker down. It just seems out of touch. I see other comments about Fox News being played that didn't happen when I was around, looks like they corrected that mistake. I ordered two chili dogs and fries. Hot dogs were boring and the chili was flavorless. Fries were ok. The girl that took my order was kind, took my order with smile, and made me feel welcomed. Not being from here. Me and my sister ate here after the Shiseido warehouse sale. This place is more of a burger and hot dog joint. I had the chicken sandwich with honey mustard. It was named after Horace Jenkins. And my sis got the bronx bomber which is a roast beef sandwich with gravy. We split fries with our order. I also had a hot dog all the way as an appetizer. Just ordered lunch from here. I really liked that I was able to place my order on the Yelp app., it was very easy to use. I order from here a lot (especially during basketball season) & what I have always liked about the place is the community atmosphere that they have. When you walk in you see all the pictures hung up of people within the community. The people at the counter are always delightful & the cooks in the back make sure to say hello as well. The owner knows who I am due to my frequent visits & he always makes sure to say hello & thank you for ordering. Sometime I feel like I should be thanking him for his great service. I usually order the buffalo chicken wrap but today I changed it up & ordered a fajita wrap. It was absolutely delicious, with a great amount of chicken, peppers, & melted cheese in it. I've had wraps here twice now and enjoyed them both times. Chicken caesar wrap and buffalo chicken wrap - prices are good and food is tasty. One star reduced for two reasons: 1. Girl at the register told me she "didn't know how to do math" and just neglected to give me my change. I didn't make an issue of it because it was only 15 cents but it was pretty unprofessional. 2. I could do without the political stickers. Clearly the owner is conservative based on the stickers inside on the wall next to the registers but why as a customer do I need to know that? read more

A unique family run restaurant right outside the premises of William Paterson University. The buffalo chicken wrap and chicken caesar wraps were my favorite choices when I used to go out for lunch between classes. We at North Haledon dental office have no issue with the food. It has always been a-ok. :-) My only concern is ketchup packets keep being left out of the orders. This is the 2nd or probably the 3rd time and the order requested ketchup for tatter tots and a hotdog Felt bad to call and have the poor delivery person come back just for ketchup. Reliably good food and quick friendly delivery. We've been ordering lunches for quite a while and have found them to be very prompt and accurate. Usually we order sandwiches and I find the menu to be varied and creative and options for customizing your selection are wide. The salads are much better than most diner offerings. Owners don't seem to care. The food is ok... but ever since the previous owner (RAY) sold it these NEW owners don't seem to care or listen to customers. The owners are not maintaining some IMPORTANT things: 1.) The booth tables are broken and despite many complaints to the staff no one ever fixes these tables. The third booth table down from the door has a slanting down broken table that is so crooked that you can't safely place liquids or drinks on it. The fourth booth table is also broken and wobbles as soon as you rest an arm on it, it tilts down and will spill your drink or soup. I have personally, kindly, brought this to the attention of the staff many times... and all they do is shrug their shoulders. I've asked the staff to tell the owners and yet they say they have but nothing is ever done. 2.) There is a large depression/ hole or dip in the pavement just a few feet from the front door that is so deep it collects water in the rain... but the owner never repairs it. WHY doesn't the owner care about fixing these tables or the customer entrance way for safety??? read more

Not many places like this exist anymore. A sandwich/wrap done right and fresh. The place always has a great counter staff and their sandwiches are always fresh to order. I've tried a few different sandwiches on the menu and I cant pick a favorite! You have college kids in here, adults, elderly, its such a welcoming atmosphere. Reminds me of a family basement where family is in and out all day. Just add AMAZING sandwiches to that! I have yet to try their special fries, but i've heard great things! I've been to the Belmont Grill twice now for a quick bite to eat on my lunch break. Both times the food has just been OK. Really nothing special about this hot dog and burger joint and frankly, I've definitely had better. Had a grilled chicken sandwich and fries on my first visit - nothing exciting. The fries were ridiculously greasy and no amount of ketchup could help them. Second trip - had a breaded chicken cutlet sandwich and fries with sauce and cheese. OMG - salt and grease city! I was not pleased. I walked out of there and didn't eat dinner I felt so bloated. Granted - my choices were not exactly healthy, but I was hoping for some yummy comfort food. In a nutshell - this is a college hangout and the food is probably good when you've been out too late at night. I probably would not return - even for a quick lunch bite. My fianceé and I came here for the second time. She usually orders cheeseburgers, and she liked the bread, she said. When I had my first burger, it wasn't well cooked but its a good thing that I do like it mid-rare. So I did enjoy the cheeseburger. Onion rings were good too. French fries were big winners for us. Cheese steak...I'd have to see how good it would taste without fried onions next time. We try to tip whenever we can. Belmont Grill did us good, I'll say. Hope to stop by more often. read more
