Ok, it's a hot dog joint. It's been there FOREVER but I was told that it is now under new ownership. Plenty of parking and inside is clean as usual. Service was friendly. It's a deep fried dog. I get mine "all the way" which is with mustard, their chili topping and diced onions. I also got an order of fries with gravy. The hot dog is good quality and the sauce isn't bad. A little sweet for my taste. Why only 3 starts vs 5? I got this during my lunch break and ate this at my work. Zero utensils for the fries with gravy and zero napkins. Am I splitting hairs? Possibly, but trying to type while having fingers slopped with gravy is kind of a put off. Then add the messiness of the dog, which is a good thing, sauce tends to find its way on your face, table, etc. Solid food. You can eat in. A big variety of items and priced reasonably. read more

If you like flies circling your head, stale buns, cold burgers and terrible hotdogs and chili this place is for you. What a fall from grace. Too bad Yelp doesn't allow you to give zero stars. read more

I've had family living here for years, and we have always avoided this place. But apparently, someone died and someone else took over -- and things improved. So instead of my traditional trip to a 100-year old place a few miles away, we came here. First, the place is clean and seating is plentiful. The counter service is efficient and the dude was polite. I really like that birch beer was a fountain option. (We don't get that in Texas.) Now to the food... This place uses Thumann's hot dogs, which are among the best in the free world. (Vienna Beef is better, but that's about it.) Not sure who supplies the buns, but they are average. They hold up well with toppings, which is very important, but they didn't otherwise add any qualities. I bought three dogs here, and they were all better than average. The slaw dog included cold, crispy cabbage that would make my Southern relatives proud. Other than the wonderful consistency, however, there was nothing really special about this. The mayo base was good, but had no flavor depth. As a hot dog topping, it worked. Even as a dish at a family reunion, it would likely work. Still, I've had tastier slaw dogs. The kraut dog was standard and delicious. Wonderful toppings. The chili cheese was outstanding, Nice spice and gooey American cheese, Way to go! Bottom line: These are decent hot dogs. Mine were fried almost crunchy, and the non-steamed bun did nothing to tone anything down or soften the hot dog. The fries, by the way, are served hot and crispy and made a wonderful accompaniment. If I lived here, this place would be a regular stop for hot dogs -- only if I didn't feel like driving an extra five minutes to Johnny & Hanges. read more

Eating hot dogs over 60 years and former New Yorker. This "All the way" jumbi dog had creamy chili that tasted like ketchup sparse raw unions and a trace of mustard on a regular size roll too small for the dog. Dog seemed to be deep fried and lacked taste. Unfortunately, expecting it to not disappoint, I had a plain regular dog that lacked taste. Maybe this place has a legacy reputation but not for what they serve today. With a huge hot dog as their sign, if this is their flagship product, count me out. read more

This is a no nonsense, basic restaurant! The ambiance is just tables and chairs! Goffle does accept credit card for payment which is very convenient. Our table of 4 got hotdogs and a hamburger. We also got Oreo milkshake!! The curry like chili was all right but nothing to write home about! It was also on the disco fries too. My friend did enjoy his hamburger so I would give that a try if you have stomach room! I got the Oreo milkshake and it was delicious read more

Their Gyros are very good, fresh and large. Service is fast, accurate and the staff is helpful and friendly. New management is much cleaner and newer signage is clear, clutter is gone. I feel that the new management is trying very hard. I just don't understand all the negativity about it not being as good as the last owners. I feel it's a huge improvement. read more

Delivery Order: I lover ordering from Diners but unfortunately this experience was not good. Pastrami Sandwich was very dry with no condiments or any spread to make it even remotely moist. Fish and Chips was also bland. Burger was pretty good though. read more

I have been going to goffle grill since I was a baby (I am 25 now) and unfortunately they have gone downhill with the new ownership. I visited with my husband and the grilled cheese is not what I remember and they don't add the free pickle anymore. My husbands hot dog and burger was dry and inedible. I threw out my food. I miss the old owners. Hope they take this as constructive criticism or we won't be back again. read more

Rude, combative service behind the counter. Hard pass. Too bad the vibe has really changed.

Ever since the new management has taken over, this place is a husk of what made it the step-sister to Clifton's hot grill. The "sauce" formula has been 1000% changed, altered, dare I say eradicated. Even the French fries' cheese quality has also degraded. I used to come here for years. Bogos can't keep me, so this is probably my last time eating here. I hope the new owners see this and learn a thing or two about quality. The workers behind the counter are always pleasant though, so there's at least that. read more

Excellent Texas Weiners; I was inspired to visit after viewing the documentary 'All the Way' about north NJ hot dog spots, as Goffle was featured. Great snap on the hot dog, the Greek spiced (cinnamon, clove) chili was very good, overall. Fries just ok, the coin shaped tater tots great (who doesn't like a hot, salty tater tot?). Friendly service, clean, Covid safe, ample parking. read more

I ordered tonight after not ordering for a couple months and everything changed. It wasn't good at all. It's such a bummer this place sold! They added plastic packaging vs the traditional paper wrap. Everything was full of condensation and cold/soggy. Overall the quality just wasn't there. read more

Was in the area. Never heard of the place but was intrigued by the sign. I had a Texas weiner chili, onion, mustard) and a weiner with mustard and sauerkraut. The dog was fried and had a nice snap to it The fries were fresh and good...NO weird used oil taste (I hate that). I had a Goffle Grill Vanilla Cream Soda. It was almost flat so perhaps open it at the store. The homemade rice pudding was good! The chick who relayed my order spoke some funny kinda way to announce my order to the cooks , love it! Food was good and priced right. read more

The music is horrible and no AC on. It's 100 degrees outside and it's cooler outside than in here. Good tactic to keep people out.

Not happy with this place anymore. Hot dogs are smaller and all the plastic wrap. Such a waste and so bad for the environment. Used to just be wrapped in the paper plates and kept the hotdogs and the french fries so nice and hot and crisp. Now they're all soggy. Won't be going back such a shame. read more

I've been told the Goffle Grill has been around since 1979, and they (like many other Texas wiener joints in Jersey) are serving up deep fried Thumans hot dogs the right way. My humble opinion based on my first visit... In the fiercely competitive New Jersey hotdog arena, including but not limited to: Rutt's Hut, Hiram's Roadside, John & Hanges, The Hot Grill - (the list goes on...), the Goffle Grill delivers the goods and earns respect. No idea how I ordered a Texas wiener without chopped raw onion, but I did... and like all the other errors, faults and mistakes in today's world, I'll blame my poor ordering on Covid. Long story short... this is a great lunch stop, my hotdogs were served piping hot with fresh condiments and fresh bread. And at $3.29 for a tasty cheeseburger cooked to my temperature request, it can't be beat. And no, the burger wasn't huge, but it was cooked to a medium temperature and with my addition of raw onion, I thought it was delicious. I'm definitely going to jump around the menu the next time I visit, I'm sure most all the sandwiches and sides are well worth a try. read more

Food is decent but I wouldn't come back. The place was so dirty Every table and chairs were filthy and probably not cleaned for hours. Customers were asking at the counter for cleaners and were given a used rag with spray to clean it themselves. Disgusting !! I had to go to my car and get Lysol wipes and clean my table. You should be ashamed of this!! No excuse to have a dirty restaurant during a pandemic read more

Just had dinner and it was GREAT !! Friendly and fast . Very clean all new including the parking lot . WOW

I grew up going to Goffle Grill and it was always predictable. New owners bought it and changed many things. When you buy a local legendary restaurant, don't come in and change everything. The new gravy recipe is awful, nothing like the old one. The new roast beef was not fresh sliced, now it's more like steak um meat. It was so gross, I had to throw it away after trying to like it. I feel like a chapter of my life has been closed. This makes me so sad! read more

The Goffle Grill is a fun burger and hot dog joint in Hawthorne, NJ. The restaurant has the classic local feeling. A welcoming vintage interior that gets the job done. For the type of restaurant it is, the food is really good. Everything seems to be cooked fresh. Food is served hot! If you know how burger joints like these work, you know it's not supposed to be a Michelin star type of location. But for what it is, you can't beat it. The staff is very sweet as well. They kindly take your order and let you know when everything is ready. I definitely recommend this place. It's a fun, laid back spot, and supporting small businesses is always a bonus! read more

This place is a perfect hot dog stand! I stopped in on a whim for Texas wieners and a birch beer and know I'll be back! The hot dogs were cooked to perfection and the onions and mustard gave a great bite to counteract the saltiness of the hot dog itself. Not much more to say than to stop in and see it for yourself! I'll be back! read more

The food at The Goffle Grill is great, but I have to say that the service has been subpar. Every time I call the number is either busy or the workers don't pick up the call at all. For example, the other day I called and I dialed their number 23 times over 15 minutes because the number had a busy tone. When I arrived and asked the young lady at the counter if there was something wrong with their line--she shrugged her shoulders and deferred to another young man who made an excuse that there was another customer on hold over the last 10 minutes. Obviously that didn't make any sense because why would you have kept your customer on hold for 10 minutes tying up the one phone line you have at this place? To be honest, the only thing that has saved this place from losing a customer is because their food is good. Do better guys! read more

At first glance, this is your typical jersey texas weiner spot. Cheap hot dogs, burgers, chili and fries with gravy. (Which i love and appreciate btw, absolutely not knocking these type of spots... because they are THE BOMB) however on top of doing the classic jersey grease well, they have so many other awesome options and for great prices!! I love their oreo milkshakes, impossible burgers (vegetarian), and even their salads! I ordered in on uber eats recently & got a turkey burger that was SO DELICIOUS. It was fresh, juicy, and a great size for only $4.49. Lasted well in the to go packaging. I definitely recommend checking out this spot for your health conscious or greasey cravings! read more

This place has become horrible. Been going for 30 years. I went in to get 2 gyro's. There were three people in the place and it took over 20 minutes. Also ordered a sausage egg and cheese on an English muffin. They didn't toast the muffin (who on planet earth eats a raw English muffin). Burnt egg and burnt sausage. See picture. I came in here the other night out of pure desperation I was starving wanted something cheap and fast and comforting I ordered hot dogs all the way and a Cheeseburger fries Disco style and was ready to be disappointed!! The burger was really good except I asked for it to be all the way and it was plain the fries were crispy the hot dogs were really tasty oh and I got a chocolate shake and it was way better than the shake I threw out the other day from the burger spot across the street Yellas !!! Very pleased and I will be back!!!! read more

The dogs had a good snap when you bite into them which makes it a good hot dog! I wasn't a fan of the onion rings nor the cheese fries. Kinda just tasted like some frozen stuff heated up. I would stick with just the hot dogs. The ordering seemed a little difficult. I don't think the menu says much of what you can have on the dog and the gentleman taking the order seemed to be getting a couple of our dogs mixed up. Or maybe the communication with the kitchen and him was off? Regardless, our order came out correct and we enjoyed our dogs. read more

Have not eaten here for a few years but when I did, always delicious. You almost feel bad finishing the meal because it's so good. Awesome!

Been here twice do far and they have disappointed me yet. They've become my new lunch time place to go. The Tuna sandwich was really good. And having the Italian hotdog today was excellent. I've been going to Goffle Grill for years and there's a reason why - it's awesome. The hot dogs are made the exact way I like them. Sometimes I get plain. Sometimes I get mustard. Sometimes I get them All the Way. Whatever way I get them, I get amazing hot dogs. The mozzarella sticks are really good and the cheese fries (get it with slices of cheese) with gravy are very flavorful. The service is always on point and it's always easy to grab a seat to enjoy the delicious meal inside. read more

Just tried their beef & beef and cheese empanadas and they were soooo delish! Need to go back for more!

Visited this place for the first time last night with my parents and really enjoyed it. I've been familiar with the Goffle Grill all of my life since I grew up in the area but just finally managed to visit it. My reasoning for visiting may be a little unorthodox since we mainly went because we're all vegetarians and decided to try the "impossible burger" (veggie burger) since they're one of the few places to carry it in the area. We really enjoyed the burgers overall and they have good service as well. The onion rings were on the smaller side, but I also recommend the chocolate milk shake. Perfect consistency! All in all, we really enjoyed it and definitely recommend visiting whether you're a vegetarian, carnivore, or whatever else. The place is a Jersey staple! read more
