A Black Cat Club License Plate
Ryan B.

I used to be a frequent Hot Topic shopper, many years ago and to my surprise, there's been quite a shift in the variety of items and trends that people are currently following. I was quite surprised with the massive amount of anime themed items that are on display throughout the store. Haven't been years since I used to be a frequent visitor. I found a very difficult to keep myself immersed and focused while searching for things to gather my interest throughout the store. Yes, Hot Topic still sells plenty of rock 'n' roll, gothic, and pop culture merchandise but I felt that the current iteration lacks that edginess it once had before. Ended up purchasing two T-shirts, one for myself and my best friend but aside from that, I couldn't keep myself caring, long enough to continue my pursuit for items that appealed to me. I felt the purchase was decently price as it was licensed from the actual band, and it wasn't a cheap knockoff that plagued the digital market. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and attentive not just for me, but other shoppers throughout the store. This is a good location and I wouldn't mind returning at some point if I'm ever back in the area. 4/5.

Literally they try to still sell a damaged item. This location must be begging for money

This location must be having some clear signs of money issues if they are selling damaged goods

Wish this was my size

Wandered into the store not really expecting to buy anything. Usually just browse and see what catches my eye. I noticed a Junji ito shirt on the wall that was super subtle. Wasn't the usual face melting dark style we all are familiar with when it comes to his art work. I asked about the shirt and I was helped by Brittany. Unfortunately was informed that that shirt was sold but upon mentioning Brittany showed me this misfits x Junji ito shirt. I've actually never really listened to the misfits but it was such an epic collab I had to have one. Ended up getting the bright neon green & purple one pictured. Also, when I mentioned loving collaboration they pulled out a DC Comics x Megadeth T-shirt. Initially I was turned off for personal reasons lol... but the design was so sick. Kept it in mind. Brittany was super kind and helped me find what I needed. Aileen helped me at the register and got me signed up for their rewards program. Thanks again! I actually ended up wandering back in a few days later and ordered the Batjoker, DC Comics x Megadeth T-shirt. Shouts out to Nakai and Rain that day for helping me out and helping me Make my decision on actually buying it. Super friendly staff and lot fun things to check out. Love this location.

apparently I still needed to tell them there were 3 items in the order and not 2.. because"how else would they know??"

Went in to pick up an online order.. she looked in the box and said everything was there! The mall is crazy busy so parking is hell! I get to the car and I'm missing an item. I call the store and she said there were 2 shipments so I should have asked for the other one! How else would they know?? Well... per the email I received, I was to give my order number and they would be able to figure it out! PLUS the email I showed them CLEARLY states the order had 3 items!! Now I have to go back.. find parking AGAIN, and see if they can get it right this time! Annoying!

No longer carries any goth clothing in the store. Which leaves sort of JCPenny type teen clothing. What's the point? lame.

I was referred by another thrift store, so I decided to stop by (walk in/no appointments) to sell a few items. No long lines or crowds after 1pm Thursday. I never thought about coming here, but it looks legit and there's more upstairs to browse around. It was more spacious than expected in this old landmark building/house corner. Not bad at all. Staff is welcoming and worked pretty fast going through people's drop off bags of clothes, etc. They sell new items too (clothing/scarf dyes, little gifts, sunglasses, shoes, jewelry, and more). Items on racks are good looking and colorful in some spots. There were plenty of Baggu handbags for sale too. Good variety of colors and styles. They have good looking boots for sure. Prices on racks are on the higher end side/more expensive for thrift store items. Very clean though, like new for most items. It didn't take long before they were finished going through my bags. It's a bit more high end here, so if you have good brands vintage fashion items, this can be a good convenient spot for you.

Went thrifting this afternoon and my first stop was Black and Brown. I'd never been there before…read moreand wasn't sure what to expect. Wow, what an amazing store. They mainly sell vintage and modern secondhand clothes, bags, and shoes for women and men, but they also have new pottery from a designer called Familiar. The store is spacious and carefully curated. There is no thrift shop smell and it looks more like a cute boutique than a secondhand store. You can sell your clothes there, too. There are two floors of women's clothes and a separate men's shop across a little courtyard in the back. Most of the customers when I was there were young adults of both sexes. The store was busy on a Saturday in the late afternoon. Fortunately, they have a dedicated parking lot behind the shop with plenty of spaces. The staff welcomed me immediately when I walked in. I was interested in looking at purses and they had quite a few vintage and newer ones from designers like Coach, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, and Dooney & Bourke. I didn't buy any, but enjoyed checking out what they had to offer. I didn't pay too much attention to the clothes, except to notice that women's pant sizes on the second floor only seemed to go up to size 11/12. If they had bigger sizes, I didn't see them. Overall, I was impressed with Black and Brown and would like to go back.

I'll preface by saying the clothes are beautiful and feel high quality, and I walked out with two…read morepieces recently that I love. I know this is the Bay Area, but I'm not about to drop $100+ per piece at a DTC brand without seeing it in person first. (My mom dressed me in clearance JCPenney and hand-me-downs as a kid.) I've been inside this specific store twice and the one in SF once. The day I made my purchase was a weekend, whereas my other two visits were on weekdays. On weekdays, the store is pretty much empty. I think for shopping in store at Sezane, that is the preference. My biggest peeve with both the SF and SJ stores (and I assume this is a feature of all their stores) is the cubby wall. They could have put multiple racks in that space, but instead they have a massive wall of cubbies with a different style in each cubby. They're all folded, and I was told you need to point out an item and have the employee take it out to show it to you. The same employee then has to find your size and refold and put back what was taken out. This is literally the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a clothing store. What if I want to see every single piece? How do I even know what the fabric feels like, or if it's sleeveless, or if it's a sweater? You don't, unless you've memorized the Sezane online catalog and know exactly what you're looking for. I could just feel the employee's annoyance every time I asked to see a new style. I would have LOVED to browse more, but the store was very busy, and I didn't want to be a burden. On the weekend day I finally bought something, there was one cashier and there was a line rapidly building behind me as there was a customer who had some sort of involved issue. There was no backup cashier called (not sure they have that capability), and we all just had to wait. I also really wanted to see some dresses in person, but they barely had any - maybe 3 or 4 styles whereas they have a lot online! The clothes are beautiful and maybe if you are shopping 1:1 with an employee on a less busy day, it could even be fun!

I was approached by a very friendly employee who asked if I needed any help. While I saw items I was interested in knowing more about, I was on a time limit and knew I wouldn't have time to even try anything on. I really wanted to do a quick walk around of the store to see what merchandise they had and to take a mental note. They had a live embroiderer near the dressing rooms who was embroidering things for clients. They also had little mini chocolate croissants with cute branded Sezane napkins near the shoe area. I think I was approached by two employees who were nice and personable. While I did not get greeted by others when I was in their area of the store. This is just a pop-up shop still -- its not a permanent location. There is one in SF apparently. I've been to the one in NYC and the pop-up shop in LA in the past. Sezane is on the higher price point, but I do still love the brand and would love to see more boutiques to visit for an in person shopping experience. I do believe that if you invest in pieces from this brand, they will be timeless, as I still would wear the items I purchased many years ago today.

First time in this store and it definitely won't be my last thanks to the friendly sales associates…read morewho work here. From the floor to the dressing rooms to the cash register, every single person greeted me and my husband, offered their help (but not in a pushy way), and made us feel like valued customers. How refreshing is that?! I mean that should be the norm, but let's be real...these days that sort of thing is rare. So thank you to Madewell Santana Row and its team for providing such an enjoyable shopping experience! A big shoutout to Daijunay who helped me out in the dressing room area. I must've tried on around 5-6 pairs of jeans, and she was so helpful, patient, and friendly. Plus, her styling advice came from what felt like a sincere place of helping a girl look her best, rather than just trying to make a sale, know what I mean? Thank you Daijunay! They certainly made a new customer out of me (and my hubby - they have a men's section as well). The jeans are really great here. They even have a jeans recycling program where you bring in old jeans you don't want, from any brand, and they will recycle them and give you a little store credit toward a new pair of their jeans! Maybe I'm late to the game on Madewell (I mean I knew of the brand but just never shopped here), but I'm glad I popped in and found some amazing new jeans (and they were having a great end-of-season sale too)!
