After PG&E nearly destroyed our 50 year old Silver maple (the centerpiece of our yard) with their hack job and getting annual service from a different arborist company, Chris and team came to the rescue. PG&E told us our tree should just be chopped down. Chris inspected the tree and gave us great insight and advice on how we could preserve our precious tree. Through expert trimming and pruning (working around an active bee hive), they did an amazing job of cutting back the tree to make it safe and very aesthetic. Chris's team trimmed one of the largest Oaks in Walnut Creek on a residential property with the utmost care and safety. Chris pointed out previous issues from not using a professional Arborist. This is not your typical coupon Tree Service you get coupon tagged on your door or mailbox. There were actual active bee hives in the Oak and his team took the care to preserve the living creatures. You may find a lower price but if you are looking for top quality, safety (especially if other properties are affected or over sensitive areas by your trees), and beautification is desired to name a few. We have been using Chris and his incredible team (shout out to Rick) since 2012. When people say he is honest, they are not kidding. He really is there to make sure your trees will be cared for to live another 20 years. His bids are more than fair when you see the job they do. I am embarrassed to say that our yard is cleaner when they leave because they do such a great clean up job. They even cleaned the leaves that fell into our pool!! And I trust his team completely. After getting several bids, we decided to have this company remove and prune many trees in our yard. They did a terrific job, arrived on time, cleaned up everything like they had never been here. Chris is a great guy, a certified arborist, and has a great crew working for him. It was a big project and they were here for two days. They were not the least expensive, nor were they they most expensive, but either way my husband felt they would do the best job. We couldn't be more pleased! read more

If you are in need of tree work look no further. A large branch had fallen from one of our oak trees and was leaning on my neighbors house. I reached out to Chris at Horticultural Services and received an immediate response. Chris came out later that day, gave me a very fair quote and scheduled the branch removal for later that week. I noticed that the branch was beginning to sag on my neighbors house and called Chris back to see if they could remove it sooner. Chris came back out, spent time talking with and putting my neighbor at ease, and rescheduled us for first thing the next morning. Chris even came back out himself at 7am on a Saturday to oversee things. They did excellent work and when they left you couldn't even notice that they had been there. Chris Chapman is a very knowledgable arborist. His crew was one time and took down four tree (and ground out the stumps) in three hours. We wanted the truck of one of the trees intact for a table and they graciously accommodated our request. What I appreciated most was his response to our inquiry about getting some limbs cut on our pine trees in the backyard. Instead of going for the immediate money, he spent time explaining to us the best time to trim the trees as to avoid beetle damage and how to best seek out the services. We obtained four quotes for the removal of the four trees, and he was the most reasonable (and appeared to be the most knowledgable). Chris Chapman and his guys did a terrific job. They came out to do the work within a few days of Chris' coming to give us an estimate, which he did clearly, efficiently and in a friendly manner. They took out three trees, reshaped a couple of others, advised us on health care for a couple of problem trees, and took out all the under story trees on our large property. The prices were reasonable, broken down by item, and the workers were fast, safe, and left the place neater than when they arrived.
