I called a few tree service companies trying to find someone to come out and trim some branches that were close to power lines, and Garcia got back straight away - they drove by the house and gave me a reasonable quote within the hour. I live out of town, but we were able to coordinate effortlessly. They came the next morning and did the job - they sent photos and I paid them over Zelle. Because they were a new business for me I was only able to pay 1/2 - they were so gracious and kind - told me not to worry and I could send the balance the next morning which I did. Absolutely flawless experience from start to finish. I will definitely use them again if I need, and recommend them to anyone asking x read more

Just had three trees trimmed by Garcia Tree Service. They answered by request same day for an estimate. And was able to come by two days later to do the work. It's a family business. They were done in an hour. Cleaned up and hauled away. Happy with the job! read more

Fast quote. Lowest out of 4 estimates plus a 4 man crew. Started right away. My 30 year old trees look awesome. Hard working men!

Excellent and fast service. Family owned with experience that has been passed down from previous generations. They came, they made the assessment, gave me their price and scheduled the work for the same week. They left everything clean afterwards, they even offered to take some other yard debris that i had laying around outside. Highly recommend. Will call them again read more

Attitude they might do an ok job but they are rude and they don't do what you ask for only their standard service no personalizing!

They are so professional, timely and do solid work. Thank you to the twins for another great service! Once again we got our view back AND don't have to deal with all of the tree schmutz dropping. read more

I previously recommended Garcia's but my last experience was bad. First, I called and spoke with Rolando and made my "annual" appointment with him. Without disclosing, his son showed up; Rolando has retired and is in Mexico. Some of the old crew is no longer with them and the Son did a crew drop off and then disappearing act. When he did reappear, I asked him advice on a big branch on a beautiful tree in my front yard. Without permission, he had one of his worker go over and cut it off at the trunk, not trim it...completely changed the look and symmetry of the tree and my front yard. Will never use or recommend again. read more

Fernando and Rolando Garcia and their hard working crew are knowledgeable, professional, dedicated, and experienced. They did a marvelous job trimming and reducing the height of an enormous and unwieldy tree in our front yard. They listened to all of our concerns and did an impeccable job. They were careful of the wires connected to our house, and made every effort to protect the fence and surrounding plants. Their quote was competitive and reasonable. I highly recommend Garcia Tree Service! read more

They came within the week and did a quick, efficient job. Recommend--another thing off my to-do list.

We are extremely pleased with the services provided. The team trimmed two 50-foot trees precisely to our specifications and exceeded our expectations with their thorough cleanup afterward. Their crew demonstrated exceptional professionalism and efficiency throughout the process. I highly recommend their services and look forward to working with them again in the future. read more

I did use them again!!! After my neighbor cut their side of the tree it caused an imbalance, and stress on the tree causing a crack. Quick response once again, and they did a beautiful job. read more

They came to look at our tree and then never responded when I tried to schedule and get an estimate. I'm not sure why they bothered coming!

Garcia Pro Tree Service was the lowest (significantly) of three bids. Rolando and his men did a great job. This is the second time I've hired them. I definitely recommend them. read more

The young Garcia came out to look at our project in short notice on a very hot day. He was professional, courteous, knowledgeable about the trees, and above all charming and HONEST!! His quote for the job is also very reasonable. Unfortunately, my tenants didn't want the large tree to be cut down as they wish for more privacy; but I will be sure to reach out to Garcia for future tree work needs. read more

Wow. I can't say anything but good things about this company. They price fairly and do an incredible job. They even cleaned up and the site looked even better than when they got here. They were able to give me an same day estimate and complete the job in the same week. I wish all services were like Garcia. Kudos to Fernando and Rolando his sons who represent the business so well! read more

Rolando and his crew are the real deal--apparently he's been in the the tree business for 20+ years now. We're so happy to support a Mexican-owned Oakland business! We called Rolando for an emergency job when one of our acacia trees toppled over after the recent Dragon Storm. Rolando was on-site within a couple hours and his crew shortly thereafter to get to work. Since they got a late start they had to finish picking up the pieces early the next morning, but the entire job was done in ~10 hours or so. Nothing was left of the tree except the few pieces we wanted to keep. The crew did an excellent job of tidying up the yard after they were finished. We called Rolando back to remove another (this time upright) acacia tree and the crew showed up early and were pleasant to interact with. They began around 8:45a (agreed start-time was 9a) and were done by 5p or so, with stump removed and yard as tidy as ever. Thank you Rolando and team! read more

Can't give a great review and cannot give a bad review. I messaged the gentleman. Informed him my property needed to have 2 trees removed. He arrived and had a conversation with the individual on the property. They informed him as to what 2 trees needed to be taken down. He looked and gave an estimate of around $800. When asked if he would remove the stumps. He said, no. Removing the stumps will kill the trees next to them. Hearing that. We decided to get a second opinion. We went with the second opinion. And the surrounding trees are still well and thriving read more

Rolando Garcia's Tree Service did a great job for us this morning for a reasonable price. Our oak tree was being eaten alive by fungus. The branches were co-mingling with the overhead wires. Rolando and his crew have strong safety measures and demonstrated their experience and skill in this risky job. Rolando clearly loves this dangerous line of work and keeps his workers happy. We saw a lot of smiles! Rolando is Oakland based, which I love because when we keep our business local, we improve quality of life for Oaklanders. read more

Fast and very efficient service at a fair price! We had them eradicate a patch of bamboo we've been struggling with removing. They got it done in a half a day and we will definitely reach out to them again when we need any help with our landscaping. read more

This family-run business quickly responded to a tree limb that fell on my sidewalk and street in front of my house. They also put up cones in the street to enable access so they could trim the tree the next day. They sculpted and trimmed the tree for aesthetics, health, and safety. The person climbing up in the tree selectively trimmed the branches/limbs; he was VERY daring and skilled in this time-consuming task. I gave them five stars for: 1. responsiveness 2. care and courtesy 3. knowledge and professionalism 4. fairness of price. 5. delivering a result that was pleasing, healthy for my tree, and effective in providing safety for pedestrians and cars parked near my house. THANK YOU!! read more

We HAD a gorgeous magnolia tree in our back yard. Our neighbor asked us to trim it. I called Garcia and Fernando came out and said he could do it that day and that he would get back to me. I heard nothing back and was going to call him when I realized that people were in the backyard cutting the tree. No one called, emailed, texted or rang the door bell. No notice or contact or anything. hey just started cutting. Fernando was not there but his brother Rolando was there as the boss. A team of guys were chopping away at our tree. I asked Rolando why there was no communication or notice and all he could say was "sorry". I told him that I wanted the tree to be just under our neighbors upper patio and rounded off. Also to be very sensitive about the birds. This is exactly what I told his brother Fernando. They completely disregarded what we asked for and chopped to the balcony below the first.... an extra 12 or so feet, cut it flat on top, and thinned it out so much that we have now zero privacy. Also it is so low now that when we look out the window we don't even see it. I used to look out and see flowers or beautiful red buds and birds. Also, I looked up how to cut these trees and it says that the tree can die if they blunt cut the branches. which they did. On top of that they cut off almost all of the buds so we will only get a few flowers next year if any. The tree was full of bird nests which I was told they would cut around or move carefully. Right now there are zero nests that I can see. We are SO hugely upset. This is an heirloom tree that our grandmother planted and we feel like it has been massacred. They apologized and said that we don't have to pay but that does not fix anything. It will be many years for this tree to recover and hopefully it won't be damaged and get sick. We are heartbroken over this. I would NEVER recommend this company. What a terrible experience. read more

We needed to get our large Oak trees trimmed before the next batch of storms. I had seen them doing work at a neighbors house so made sure to bookmark them on Yelp! When I reached out to them about getting a quote, they were able to come out within a couple hours and began the work immediately once I accepted it. Their crew was fast, professional & worked quickly to trim the tree and remove all the debris I found them extremely reasonable and will definitively use them in the future read more

Garcia Professional Tree Service was super fast to come give an estimate on the removal of my dying Holly tree. The quote was reasonable and they set up a date for the next week. However, unannounced road construction in front of my house caused one last minute delay. Fernando rescheduled, for a couple days later but that had to be delayed because a neighbor had an important zoom call that day. Fernando rescheduled again with no complaint and we were successful on the third time. I really appreciate their flexibility. The job of taking down the tree was amazing to watch. The crew was fast, efficient, courteous and did a great job of cleaning up both my yard and the neighbors'. I highly recommend Garcia Professional Tree Service. read more

Fast, professional, and our yard looked like they had never been there, except all our trees were perfectly manicured. Would use them again and again (and all our neighbors do too!). read more

Rolando and his crew are amazing! They came to bid the job the day after I called them, and did the work the following week. Their competitors either bid a much higher amount, or couldn't make it out to do the work for a month. We had a massive branch that had fallen off of our tree into our yard, as well as a bunch of trees that hadn't been worked on in over a decade. Our bushes needed pruning, our side yard needed trimming...in short, the place was a mess. Garcia's Professional Tree Service were complete miracle workers. The trees were expertly pruned, the bushes shaped and trimmed beautifully, and their fee was unbelievably reasonable. They readily agreed to trim a huge tree that was hanging over our neighbor's broken down car without needing it to be moved. They even tarped her car for us before doing the work! They were so efficient that my mind was blown! They did what seemed like two days worth of work in about 3 hours! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We'll be calling them the next time our trees get overgrown! If you are looking for the best fit for your tree trimming project, look no further than Rolando and his crew! read more

I was very impressed with this company from start to finish. They not only did an incredible job, their pricing was better than everyone else. I wouldn't have been able to afford to get this job done if I didn't find them. They took down a 90 foot Monterey Bay pine tree that was starting to break the foundation of my house and the crew had to carry big pieces of the trunk from the steep down slope of backyard to the road which was labor intensive. Every day I was amazed by their hard work and dedication. Thank you so much to Fernando and his crew. Forever grateful. read more

The crew did an excellent job pruning the City of Oakland Sycamore tree that was overgrown and dropping branches every time it was windy. They climbed the tree using safety gear and did a nice job keeping a healthy, natural shape while pruning out dead branches and the smaller growth. My only complaint was a slow response to my request for an emailed contract ahead of time, but I'm glad I eventually received it and we moved forward with the work because they did a really good job for a fair price. read more

I have Pittosporum tree surrounding my property and they had grown quite large. I asked Garcia Prof Tree Service to give me an estimate. I highly recommend them and if I ever have more tree work to do, I will call them. read more

Rolando Garcia and his crew of seven very hard working, able bodied, hard working professional men, showed up in two large trucks at exactly 9:00 AM, as the owner had promised me. They worked for almost five hours, taking one break for lunch at noon. They completely removed a 90 foot tall conifer that was a real fire hazard to our home, as it was over hanging not only over our roof, but also our fireplace chimney! They also thinned out an overgrown Oak tree that was becoming so large that it was sending branches out over our roof. The city fire inspector would have flunked us how do you seen these two major fire hazards. One of the workers remained inside of a 2 1/2 ton stake truck, using his chainsaw to make everything fit so they could haul away all of the slash with one truckload. When they had finally finished their project, they gathered up every tiny little twig from the ground on the stairway leading up to their truck, and left my property cleaner than it was before they arrived. By the was, their price is very competitive! In fact I couldn't find anyone to do this job for less money!. This is the second time I have used Garcia's professional tree service, and I plan on using them again, in the very near future. It is absolutely fascinating how the one man, who actually climbs up the tall tree and removes branches, as he gains altitude, with a small chainsaw. When he removes the last branch, which he lowers down slowly to the ground on a heavy duty nylon rope, then he starts cutting short segments of the actual trunk, and less them free-fall all the way to the ground. He made it look so easy! I could not believe how quickly he performed all of these tasks! He has to be as strong as an ox, and has nerves of steel! I highly recommend this company for anyone needing tree service on their property. FIVE STARS!!! read more

These guys did a FANTASTIC job! Taking on my towering, overgrown poplar and acacia trees was no small task. Rolando was a pleasure to work with and the crew really understands how to sculpt trees. After putting in one grueling, hard day's work, they also did a beautiful job of cleaning up afterwards. Left the place spotless! The yard looks so nice. We were very impressed. This was the second time I hired Garcia's and I highly recommend them. You can't go wrong. High five and five stars! read more

Great job by Rolando, Fernando and the team to trim three trees including a 70' diameter oak, a large palm, and an overgrown juniper. Half of the job was completed within 5 hours of my initial phone contact. Outstanding value. Excellent clean up. read more

He is now our tree trimmer for life. I called him, he came and looked at the tree, gave us an estimate and we scheduled a day for the following week. He called me the day before he was supposed to come and said they had gotten off early from another job, so could they come by and begin working on the tree. Less than three hours later, the tree was done. Rolando's knowledgeable about trees is extensive and he is super friendly. If every person was a nice and amiable as he is, the world would be a better place. read more

Rolando and his team ate the BEST!!!! I have a SEVERE Oak pollen allergy (sinus headaches, vertigo, a huge purple/red blister when an oak branch scraped my leg). Unfortunately for me, Oak trees in my city are protected and require an act of God to be removed. As if that wasn't enough, the oak tree in my yard has "Drippy Oak Disease" (Erwinia quercina). The result is that in the summer months, the tree drips sticky sap all over my car, driveway, and the steps and handrails on my porch. And then the sap attracts/is caused by flies and gnats. There is no effective treatment and Oak trees continue to thrive in spite of it all. I suffered through this until my neighbors introduced me to this company. Even though I am not allowed to remove this oak tree, Rolando and his team are experts and stripping the branches and leaves which make me sick/miserable year round. Yes, my tree looks like Groot (at my request), but you cannot put a price on not having to deal with vertigo. As a plus, Rolando and his team have great attention to detail. I told him that I didn't want to destroy any bird nests in the tree. They spotted a nest and were able to expertly work around it, preserving the nest and the surrounding foliage. I am so happy I found this company. I've used other companies, but this company is my far the best if you need trees cut back or trimmed. read more

Great guys and did excellent work removing 2 large dead trees for us. Rolando quoted the same price as his competitor, but for a proper paid by check job (competitor would only do that price for cash...) Good communication and showed up on time, worked hard all day, and went way above and beyond what we'd agreed clearing up the site at the end of the day. Highly recommend Rolando and crew, and I'd be very happy to work with them again. read more

I've used Rolando and crew a few times, and as usual they did a great job. This time they brought our 3 Catalpa trees down to a dormant state, as I requested. These trees are beautiful but because they are "tropical" and don't have other trees to compete with, they have a tendency to grow tremendously. The dormant state allows them to grow to the point where I won't have to trim them again for another 5 years or so! See before and after pictures. read more
