My second visit from Elite. They really are great. Professional, knowledgeable and easy to work with. I have a complicated landscaping and Matt listens and has a sensitivity to the plants. The crew is careful and lovely to have on the property. read more

Elite Tree Service - beloved garden - Tree Services Near Me - Oakland, California

I worked with Matt to trim 2 large trees. The team was on time, professional and cleaned up all branches/leaves as well as put all of my outdoor furniture back in its spot. They also took out all of the light bulbs from our outdoor lights (what a nice touch) to make sure the glass didn't break. I'd highly recommend this company to anyone looking for care and caution when you need your trees trimmed. read more

I've have been using Elite Tree Service for a number of years to prune and trim my palm tree, maple trees and a number of other special requests. I can't say enough good things about Matt and his crew. Reasonable pricing, timely, extremely courteous, professional, clean-up to perfection, but most importantly, completion of a job with perfection and knowledge. My trees, shrubs, etc. thrive in excellent condition due to yearly visits by Elite Tree Service. I can positively say if you're looking for well qualified tree service...look no further...this is the company to do business with. read more

Estimate and work went smoothly. My "middle aged" live oak tree needed an arborist's touch to ensure that shaping and trimming was appropriate given the tree's location and seasonal growth pattern. They did a very good job. read more

Hello - couldn't recommend Elite more: Trees look amazing after some prior tree trims that were suboptimal done by others. Was educated regards on going maintenance. Matt and crew were on time the morning of the service, had ample labor, finished on time, and price felt reasonable in relation to quality and professionalism. Well Done read more

Matt and his team are true professionals. Matt is knowledgeable, helpful and communication was easy. The price was affordable and it did not compromise quality. The team pruned three oak trees in our challenging backyard that included a steep hill, many stairs and planting areas. Despite those obstacles, the team worked very efficiently yet very carefully not to damage other miscellaneous plants that I care about. As soon as they started, I could tell they were good by the well-maintained tools they were using and the way they divided jobs amongst the team, with no time wasted. The oak trees were quite bushy yet they completed the job faster and neater than I expected. The trees look beautiful. They did a nice cleanup job including our neighbors properties too. We are very happy and glad to find a tree service company we can rely on. read more

I got a good look at tree concern related to home insurance. Service was helpful and I learned about tree and wires next to my home that were fire related. Fair estimate. read more

Matt and the team at Elite are true pros! They provided one of the lower quotes of all the companies we contacted, but that didn't come at the expense of quality -- Matt was especially knowledgeable and gave helpful, thoughtful advice during the estimate. The team was extremely quick and efficient, handling our trees with care and expertise. We were impressed by their professionalism and would absolutely recommend them. read more

Matt and the team at Elite are true professionals. We had them give us a quote for multiple tree trimmings on our property. We have amazing oaks and wanted to know exactly how to care for them since they add so much to our property. T From the first phone contact with the office to the appointment, it was an excellent experience. Matt was on time and extremely knowledgeable. He gave us expert advice not just on our oaks but all our trees. Additionally, he was able to make some recommendations to help us address issues with privacy and even spent time to recommend plants fit for difficult locations. Because we were so impressed, I asked to have him on sight for the work. He understood and was willing to accommodate my request and even added it to our quote. The quote came in and it was in line with our other proposals (all were almost exactly the same.) We ended up choosing a different company because of a personal recommendation from our neighbor who was also having work done on a shared tree. When we called to tell Elite, they were so kind. I felt bad because we definitely would have chosen Elite and Matt had spent so much time educating us on our property. I offered to pay a consultation for his time, but they refused. Saying: "It's what we do, call us next time if we can assist" Thank you Elite!! read more

Super professional, extremely pleasant, and they do a great, careful job. I was indecisive about some of the work that needed to be done and Matt took a lot of time to go through the pro's and con's of the various options. I think the pricing is very reasonable, especially given the quality of the work. read more

I have to add to the long list of praise for Elite Tree Service. I had one of those unfortunate situations where a tree from my property fell across 2 other neighboring properties. Not only was the quote from Elite Tree a fair price and timeline, but they also landed up performing removal services 2 days ahead of schedule! Every party involved in the incident was very pleased with the results and appreciative of their timely efforts. I 110% recommend Elite Tree and they'll be the first arborist I will be contacting for future projects going forward. read more

I highly recommend Elite Tree Service. Not the least expensive, but great artistic pruning work including my Japanese Maple.

Think he said his name was David. Two nice guys came and did a great job trimming our Purple Plum that was getting too close to the house. He said this is the right time of year to have it trimmed. read more

Elite tree was recommended by my co-worker and so I requested an assessment for our lone Monterey Pine tree (Oakland hills) and the scheduling was seamless via email through Sarah. Matt came on time and gave me the best news ever as I really wanted to save my tree. He was clear, candid, and he also had an action plan recommendations for my tree (what to look for and when to call them next). I really appreciate his honesty and he will be getting my business for any tree issues in the future and will be recommended to my neighbors/friends who need tree work. read more

I strongly recommend Elite. They had the lowest quote of two firms. Matt came out and explained everything. Gave me a couple of options and pros and cons. The other firm did the same but was significantly higher. The crew were professional and made quick work of two large pines that were dead and near dead plus a smaller pine. They cleaned up after and chipped the smaller branches and cut up and removed the large pieces to their lot. I will definitely call them again for future pruning. read more

I've worked with elite tree service three times already and Matt is great! He's very knowledgeable- he's an arborist so duh, professional, and kind. He's helped us in assessing if a tree can survive root pruning. I definitely recommend Matt if you're looking for a qualified arborist and tree company. read more

We had 4 bids for the removal of our Monterey Pine. Elite Tree was in the middle, but seemed the most straight forward and confident about the process. They were totally professional throughout the process, beginning with Matt and extending to the daredevil Israel. We are so appreciative. read more

Elite Tree has been our go-to tree care service for many years and we recommended them to a neighbor whose towering pine was impacting our 22 unit building in Adams Point. On the day the tree was removed, we had a bird's eye view of the process from the top floor of our building. It was enlightening, to say the least, to see the skilled arborist in the tree work in perfect rhythm with the crew on the ground. The whole amazing process took less than 4 hours -- from an on-time arrival to a thorough clean up. Bravo Elite Tree Service on an excellent job. read more

These guys pulled up, opened both doors and pushed all the trash from the passenger side door onto my drive way - and they were servicing my neighbors! When customer service finally returned my phone call, she tried to say the employees "were removing tools." BULLSHIT I WITNESSED THIS WITH my own eyes!!! read more

Matt and his crew are terrific. Matt is really knowledgeable and great at answering questions and making suggestions for new plantings as well as trimming and thinning. The crew does exactly what the client requests and takes away all the trimmings. They leave the yard cleaner than it was before they arrived. Highly recommend! read more

Got several estimates from different companies and decided to go with Elite. Elite had the best price and seemed to be the most knowledgeable. I had large Redwood removed and also had the stump grinded out. Elite arrived on time and completed the work with perfection. I'm very satisfied with Elite's performance and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for some tree services. It was nice to also see that it was a Father and Son team. Thanks Ed and Matt! read more

Elite Tree Service - I think this was Matt... just cutting the top off my Redwood. - Tree Services Near Me - Oakland, California

Bottom line: these guys are awesome. Found Elite Tree Service on Yelp so called them for a quote. Matt came out and gave me a very competitive quote for the removal of one tree and trimming 2 others. Also grinding out 2 stumps and some plants. So, I went with them but had to wait a few weeks because they were booked up. Figured that was a good sign. Appointment was for 11, they showed up at 10:30. Yeah! Crew of 4 went to work with military precision. They worked really well as a team and were very efficient. Not only did a great job on all the trees, they cleaned up after themselves as well. My trees look great. Later I found out the team has been together for 10 years and it shows. Good price, great work, friendly service - what more could you ask for. Will definitely call them again for any tree maintenance needs. read more

A huge, very heavy branch broke off our Monterey Pine Tree on a hillside overlooking a neighbors house, so I did not want to trust this job to just anyone. Matt came out and gave us information about the history of the tree and the best way to preserve it. He is definitely on top of the latest methods to maintain trees. The crew worked well together and did a very professional job of communicating with us, completing the job well as promised and cleaning up afterwards with minimal disruption. With the current climate crisis we need to plant new trees and to avoid cutting down older trees unnecessarily. Contact Matt & his crew to extend the life of the trees that you treasure. read more

We've used Elite Tree Service for a few years now. Our landscaping service had made all of our trees looking like big round bushes. Matt and his crew came in and trimmed the olive , the magnolia, and the feijoa trees so that they were beautiful and graceful. My neighbors compliment my trees! And once they are done with the work, they leave the yard cleaner then when they arrived! Matt takes the time to listen to your landscaping issues and suggests solutions. My hedge was dying off and he provided advice on what would work in our very shady backyard. We are very happy with Elite Tree Service! read more

St. Patricks Day, March 17th, the anniversary date of when Elite Tree Service, Ed Jenson, trespassed onto my property without my knowledge or permission, hired by my backyard neighbors, and climbed over my fence and up into my 100 year old giant sequoia, and chain sawed 28 living branches leaving my tree disfigured forever with ugly stumps at the fence line. The sad thing is that this species can never grow back its branches. Three people yelled at him & begged him to stop; but he kept cutting. I had just paid M & M Tree Service $1200 five months before, to trim my tree and it looked spectacular, majestic, & magnificent. He has robbed me of all the joy I had in being in my backyard. This father son team may have an arborist no. but there is no arborist here. An arborist takes a hippocratic oath. No reputable arborist would trespass onto another's property without permission and damage their property. No reputable arborist would touch a 100 year old tree that had just been professionally pruned. These guys will do anything for a fast buck. There is no integrity in how they conduct their business. Elite Tree was great -- I had two huge acacias fall at the bottom of my yard, over the city owned creek. I had a couple of companies tell me they just couldn't do it, that there was no safe way to do it. Elite came in, gave me a lower price than the others had estimated (had they been able to do it), and brought in a crane, cleared the use of it from the school on the other side (I didn't have to do a thing), and then came in from the far side. They successfully, safely cleared it all out, and even left me the mulch when I asked for it. I certainly don't hope that any other trees fall. However, if one did, I'd call them in a heartbeat. read more

Reached out on Yelp via Request a Quote (RAQ). Sarah returned my call within a few hours and Sean was able to come out the same day for an estimate. Every interaction was super professional and straight forward. Ultimately went with another vendor because of availability and price. So I can't write about his work just yet since our work isn't completed, but what a nice, honest guy who knows what he is doing. There was a tad delay in calling me back from my initial inquiry, but I was called by a very nice woman who accommodated my request for same day quote. Ed came over at 6 after a long day of work and spent a great deal of time reviewing our property and making recommendations in the interest of beauty and the health of my trees. I got a quote on the spot. I felt that he knew exactly what to do, which was comforting. It was almost like having your dad (who happens to be an arborist) come over and tell you what you needed to do. Given I know nothing about trees or landscaping, I would be an easy person to take advantage of, and I could just tell that he was honest and cared about making me happy and the trees healthy and pretty. His quote was thorough and partly itemized, which makes it easier if I decide we just can't do it all. I've received 3 quotes, one that was $1K less than his (though it was for less work and I think they are less into the "art" of trees and aesthetics), and one that was more than double his quote! I would absolutely recommend calling Earl when looking for someone to trim or remove your trees. Solid man and very fair and competitive prices. read more

Once again, thank you, Matt, for providing excellent guidance and personalized service. I appreciate that you weigh the pros and cons of different approaches to tree issues. The trees you pruned last year (after going 5 years without pruning) have filled in beautifully, and while I hated to see the plum tree go, you removed it quickly and completely, cleaned everything up, and bid a good price. Your stump removers (Bob's) are fantastic. Thanks for everything, and you'll hear from me again! read more

Elite Tree Service absolutely lived up to their name! I'm in the middle of an eucalyptus grove and have worked with a few tree companies and Matt and his crew are head and shoulders above. Their quote was extremely competitive and while others were quoting more than a full day's work, Matt was very confident they'd be done in one day. I really appreciated the level of detail provided in the quote as well. Fast-forward to the day of the job. They showed up on time and had a well-defined plan on how to tackle the job efficiently and effectively. Quite entertaining for my kids to watch, according to my wife. I came home a bit early from work to catch up with Matt and they'd already finished, cleaned up, and were gone. They'd even gone so far as to get up on the roof with a blower to clear off debris that came down during removal of a few of the trees. I'll definitely be calling Elite Tree Service again the next time I need any tree work done. read more

The cost was more expensive than I could have imagined to trim a tree ($625), but at the end of the day it looks really good. Elite was priced at market rate based on the 3 bids I received. They made a point of introducing themselves and explaining the work that needed to be done, which I really appreciate. At the end of the job they cleaned up appropriately and even took away extra bushes and limbs I had removed from other parts of my yard. Yelp has them highly recommended and I would second that. read more

They were working in our neighbor's yard when I approached Matt, the owner. Asked If he could take a look in my back yard & give me an estimate on trimming a mature curly willow & bottle brush tree. He was very pleasant & was willing to pop over. Matt was professional & knowledgeable giving us his professional opinion which I really appreciate. He had extra time after finishing my neighbor's trees & offered to do our trees. His crew was efficient & cleaned everything up that was in our yard & our neighbor's. Very happy with the customer service, efficiency & pleasant attitudes of Matt's crew. I would highly recommend this tree service. read more

Quality work, good communication, professionalism. Not always available on short notice, but busy means well-liked, usually. Nothing elite about this place. Corresponded with Sarah to have an estimate done on my property to have some trees removed. These clowns were a no-show. No phone call, nothing! When I called them to find out ETA, got a voicemail/answering machine. Left a message but no call back. I had to take time off from work to get this done and they don't have the courtesy to call and cancel or reschedule? LAME, don't bother with this place. Totally not worth the time. Oh and Sarah can't even get your name right. I corresponded with her via email to set the appointment up and she still can't get my name right. BOO! Having just bought our first house, I can't say I'm a tree trimming expert or anything, but facts are facts. This was worth the wait and totally worth the money. The impact of having these trees done is incredible. It's like we have a whole new backyard. They cut down 2 trees that were pushing on our retaining walls, and trimmed 3 others. We just bought our first house, and budget is a concern for us, because there's so much to do. It was obvious that nothing had been done on the trees in a long time, and our neighbors even mentioned what a mess it was the first time we met them. I can't put into words what a great job they did, so maybe this will help illustrate it: Our next door neighbors brought us a thank you present after the work was done. *Seriously*. Our neighbors brought us chocolate and champagne for TRIMMING OUR OWN TREES. Elite Tree Service did such a good job on our trees that our neighbors bestowed gifts on us. I can't promise your neighbors will bring you presents, but I know Elite Tree Service will do an awesome job for you. read more
