Savant had been a phenomenal arborist for all of our needs. They have given us a lot of great recommendations over the years and are honest. We do not hesitate at all for all of our tree needs to call them. They are also reasonably priced and fair. read more

We've been utilizing Sexy Trees services for a few years now. Alex, owner and lead arborist, is truly an expert at his craft. He's has become my "go arborist" for any questions and advice. We've had trees removed, pruned for health and fire safety, fertilized, treated for insects and more recently we had new trees planted to replace old and dying ones. I can say that Alex and his team are dedicated to performing each job correctly and with care. They excel at making the customer experience exceptional. Alex loves what he does and it shows. Highly recommend! Alex and Rachelle are highly responsive. Quotes are provided in a timely manner and I've found them to be reasonable in price and value. read more

Savant Arborist - Black oak tree just pruned - Tree Services Near Me - Alamo, California

Alex is a tree whisperer. We were referred by our kids who love his work. He treated an almost dying, very expensive olive tree and it is thriving. I saw him on his tummy injecting it with something like a true tree doctor! He also oversaw the sad removal of a 100 foot sick and dying Alder. Seamless work. Very good price for such a huge job. read more

Savant arborists trimmed my Chinese hackberry using manual saws. It was so quiet. The tree spanned two yards and the neighbors commented how pleased they were with the clean up and respect for their yard. Price was matched and better than most. Alex and his crew are respectful and thoughtful. I'm so pleased to have them keep my trees healthy. read more

Called Alex to come out and check the health of my oak and walnut trees. This man knows his business well. Alex diagnosed that the walnut tree had a disease and was able to treat it within a few days. He also repaired a broken limb on another tree. Alex was very professional and I felt very much at ease as to his recommendations. I will have him come back in February to treat the oak trees so that they won't produce egg corns in the spring. This should help to keep the squirrels at a minimum. I highly recommend Alex if you are looking for a honest arborist. read more

We called Alex Llamas of Savant Arborists to help us with an infestation of shot hole borer (an ambrosia beetle) that was killing one of our live oaks and threatening the rest of our small oak grove. The infestation was spotted by our regular tree service, but they did not have the expertise to mitigate the threat. Alex has demonstrated his expertise by treating all of our oaks for the shot hole borer and the symbiotic fungus that also poses a threat to the tree. Alex took samples for nutrient analysis, supplemented the soil around our oaks to address deficiencies and provided us with a detailed arborist report that we used to get a permit from the city to remove the dying oak. He is providing us with an ongoing maintenance program to ensure the health of our remaining trees. One unexpected aspect of Alex's work was the genuine enthusiasm he shows for the cause of protecting trees from pests. He arrives on time with clean, professional and well-maintained tools and equipment. He and his staff are a pleasure to work with. read more

I'm a retired arborist who owned a tree care company in Marin County for 36 years. Over the course of my career, I've had the opportunity to work with arborists and companies from all over the country and abroad, both as a business owner and as a board member for our professional trade organization. About ten years ago, I met Alex -- the founder of The Savant Arborist -- and was immediately impressed. His deep technical knowledge, commitment to arboricultural best practices, and thoughtful tree care prescriptions (whether pruning, fertilization, or other plant health services) are truly exceptional. But what sets Alex apart even more is the way he chooses to run his business. His team operates with genuine care, professionalism, and positivity. There's very low turnover, which is rare in this field, and it speaks volumes about the culture he's created. In my experience, only a handful of companies demonstrate the level of integrity, consistency, and professionalism that Alex and his team deliver. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Savant Arborist to anyone who values expert care for their trees and a team that does things the right way, every time. read more

A few years ago, as a new homeowner, I want looking for an arborist who wanted to help me care for my trees instead of just fixing problems. Savant Arborist is that company. I had Alex out for a consultation. He wasn't interested in selling services. Instead, he educated me about my trees, shrubs, and proper care. The advice from the first brief visit has served me well for years. I asked Alex to come out a year later for a follow up question. He stopped by to check the trees, wouldn't take money. He came by today, several years after the first visit, as my trees need some more attention than what I can give (even with his advice). Alex was able to immediately apply a fungicide treatment, and was happy to explain everything he was doing. If you won or care for trees, do yourself a favor by calling Savant Arborist. read more

I reached out to Alex about a problem with my apple tree, and his response was incredibly fast and helpful. I sent over a few photos of the tree, and Alex was able to immediately identify the exact issue right through the chat.Instead of trying to force an expensive, unnecessary home visit, Alex generously provided clear, step-by-step recommendations on how to save my tree directly in the messages. He didn't charge me a single penny for his time or expert advice. It is rare to find this level of honesty, professionalism, and genuine care. Whenever I need hands-on arborist in the future, Alex will absolutely be the first person I call. Thank you so much for helping me save my apple tree! read more

The Savant crew trimmed trees and removed a non-native tree for me last month. They did a thorough job and cleaned up nicely. I have used their services over the last 3 years. Their price estimate was reasonable and competitive with another vendor. I will probably use their services again in the future. read more

Got a quote from Alex at this Company. Very knowledgeable and experienced. They showed up on time and followed up immediately after our meeting. Very organized and professional. We ended up going with a different quote due to a personal recommendation. But, we felt that this company deserves to be recognized for the professionalism and expertise they showed. Thanks Savant! read more

Alex is a certified arborist and a tree whisperer. It was worth the $150 up front as he provided honest recommendations. IE He suggested some service and suggested we defer some work. Provided some feeding suggestions. You would not get that from a typical tree service The trimming service was a few bucks more but they did not butcher the trees. True professionals read more

We have Alex and his sexy trees crew out at least once every couple years to evaluate, trim and keep all of our trees in shape. That wind storm today was no joke and although I'm sure there are people with much bigger problems from it, I can't believe the disaster we have here at our house. I almost had to manually move this stuff tonight before my wife and I felt safe to back our car out of the garage. So glad we've had preventative maintenance done by the right guys, or this could've really been a disaster. My wife needs her Saturday night cocktails, if I had to make those also on top of all of this, that would've been a nightmare Cheers read more

Savant Arborist tackled a large mulberry tree in my backyard that hadn't been trimmed for more than 4 years. The work involved going into the yard of three of my neighbors to access the wandering branches. The work was done efficiently and professionally. The clean up was also great. Their admin side was also really easy to work with and scheduling was timely. read more

Alyx knows his trees! He suggested we put slow growth treatment on our large trees since we are going to have the driveway redone. The roots from these large trees have destroyed the driveway and we didn't want any future issues. I also do NOT want to cut the roots. Alyx even took the time to discuss how we should construct the driveway giving us lots of great input. Sexy Trees did a great job trimming up our Mulberry and will come back to do two more trees this year. He didn't want to trim the pine now or the sap would be all over. I really appreciated that. I'm sure happy with them. They are now are go to tree company. read more

Sexy Trees did a phenomenal job cutting down 5 very tall trees that were in-between 2 homes. They also did an excellent trim work on 5 other trees. Every person in the work crew was very knowledgeable about trees and safety. I really appreciated the entire crew walked around the house with me to clarify which trees needed to be removed and which needed to be trimmed. They obviously worked well together because they broke into separate teams to accomplish different tasks. Sexy Trees did such a great job that I can't even tell they were here. Now, I have to work on the rest of my yard to look as good as my trees. Thanks, Sexy Trees. read more

This is a professional business you can trust. Alex did a full walkthrough and gave us an estimate - with honest feedback about which trees we shouldn't even spend more money on at this point - immediately after I reached out. He also did an estimate review to go over each line item before we confirmed the work. The crew was very friendly and made sure they asked our opinions. Unfortunately, I am clueless with landscaping and design, and don't know what to ask for. It turned out the work wasn't quite what I expected, and a lot of the assumed mitigation effort for our bigger tree out front was not needed or done. When I responded with my concerns, the company replied immediately and offered to come out and take a closer look. Instead, we mutually agreed to adjust the invoice based on the outcome. They listened, cared, and wanted to make sure their customer was satisfied with the final result. You can't ask for more from a business. read more

I found Sexy trees via internet search and contacted him directly based on his Yelp reviews I requested an estimate, he was very knowledgeable and fair in price so I moved forward with the work. Alex and his team came out and did a wonderful job taking care of our large eucalyptus tree that was really overgrown and full of deadwood. They worked hard and got the job done quickly, they left it clean and gave me much knowledge about my trees. I will continue to use them for any future tree care and recommend them to all family and friends. Thanks so much!!!! read more

I had a giant, overgrown Ash tree in my front yard, which I opted to have removed. (And an overgrown Oak in the back yard). Alex came and advised me on all my options. He patiently answered my follow-up questions, which I appreciated. His crew was on time, friendly, professional, and did a beautiful job. I would gladly recommend them. My neighbors even commented on what a great job they did! Thanks, Alex and Carlos and crew! read more

We accidentally damaged a neighbors very special tree she'd planted more than 20 years ago. We read a few Tree Surgeon reviews and gave Sexy Trees Alex Llamas a call. His expertise and advice won us over immediately. Can't recommend the superb service of Alex and Sexy Trees highly enough! Thank you! read more

Sexy Trees is the best! We've been using them for years and they always do a great job - Tree Artists! Alex is very knowledgeable and his crew is awesome! They always do great work and leave the place cleaner than they found it. Sexy Trees is a real parter in your tree care. Alex has turned down lucrative work because it was unnecessary or might harm the tree. He (if you want) sends out tips for tree care throughout the year. He had just serviced our property a few weeks before the huge storms we just had, and we had no issues while our neighbors had limbs and entire trees fall all over the place. Sexy Trees is not the cheapest, they're not the most expensive, but they are the best, and we've tried a few over the years! read more

Alex is very knowledgeable about trees and guided us to do the right thing: remove two trees that were dead or ailing and treat others with injections that would enable their survival. The crew was amazing. Watching them climb up and cut down a huge, dead Monterey pine was like watching a gymnastics event! They worked methodically and efficiently, and they left the yard neat and clean. In addition to demonstrating incredible skill at their jobs, everyone was so friendly. read more

We have had these guys come back several times over to trim all of our trees including these tall palm trees. They've also taken out a few pestering trees. Their service is outstanding and they always do an excellent job. Everyone is kind and they clean up after the job like you would never even know they were there. We will continue to use them as long as they are around and highly recommend them to anyone looking to have excellent service with a quality outcome. read more

These folks care about trees. We very much appreciate that they don't just swoop in and trim. Our concerns and questions were listened to and addressed. Arborists on staff are critical to tree health and it took a while for us to find these experts. Very responsive. read more

This company was recommended to my by an arborist (an actual, certified arborist) who was consulting on our trees but no longer provided tree trimming services. The group was knowledgeable about each species of tree and appropriate methods for pruning. They arrived promptly, did a beautiful job of trimming the trees and cleaned up everything. Highly recommend. They may, perhaps, be may be a bit more expensive than others but absolutely worth it if you value your trees! It was definitely worth it for me. read more

I was contacted by Sexy trees regarding my review. Sherri and Alex arrived within two days, assessed the damage to my Lemon tree, and determined that a branch was cracking. I was very impressed with their responsiveness and customer service. read more

We have worked with Alex and Crew for two years now. They do a beautiful job trimming and Alex always gives us great advice on taking care of our trees when he's here. Response times to my calls/emails are always fast and the price is reasonable. I especially appreciate his considerate crew when they're onsite. With past companies I've had all sorts of trouble with property damage, smashed landscaping, etc but the Sexy Trees crew always leave the work space perfect. I got the most wonderful personalized video back from Alex about my redwood tree which was so informative. Even though I didn't have them do work for me because my trees couldn't handle the stress of pruning, I'd be honored to use them in the near future. Thank you Alex! read more

We bought a house in Oakland with two very large acacia trees in severe need of haircuts. Alex and his crew were prompt with all of their communications, and had the best quote of the three I solicited. The work was professional efficient, with two climbers up in the trees and several more people helping with the cleanup. The backyard was left in better shape than when they arrived. read more

If there were six stars I would be giving it to sexy trees. They helped us out in an emergency where a tree fell in our backyard and almost on our home. The owner of the company is an expert arborist and explained the health of the tree and recommended we remove it and some options for replacing it. The crew came out immediately to remove the tree and did a fabulous job. They were very professional and polite. They cleaned up everything after and left it immaculate! I highly recommend them. read more

The owner came and gave me a free estimate, he offered suggestions and insights in all the trees on my property even if it wasn't going to bring him business. The company was highly recommended to me on Benicia peeps on Facebook and I'm really happy I used them. read more

Alex and his crew are totally clutch. I lagged on the removal/trimming of the silver dollar eucalyptus in my condominium's back area to less than 24 hours before the 'storm of the decade.' If this tree falls, it would likely capsize th' condo. And mar my gorgeous creek! #procrastination. I called Llamas Tree Service at 10:30. Alex came over, saw my situation, suggested he hack off a handful of limbs at their crotches, and THEN HE DID IT. All before 3:30. He also placated and charmed my anxious neighbor. High Five. Super professional. I can not report on the pricing considering I acquired no other estimates. I'll will contact them again for the total removal of the tree. I recommend. read more

It's unfortunate that Sexy Trees canceled a scheduled appointment just 15 minutes prior to our meeting because a previous request for service "didn't work out". Your shameless reason for canceling an appointment at the last minute had nothing to do with professional tree care. You canceled because your records showed that we did not award you a project that occurred years ago. Your company should be transparent then and advertise that you will not come out if you've lost out on a previous project. Losing a project is always a possibility. but apparently Sexy Trees doesn't feel that way. Wasting my time is ok with you apparently. Since we're being transactional, then I'll use my time to encourage folks to STAY AWAY from Sexy Trees. If the only criteria for getting their service is to just accept their prices, then feel free to use them. But if you are a discerning customer who appreciates the value of a second opinion, then you need to question a company who treats customers like this. Or you can blindly accept that they are the ONLY tree service in town, and they are giving you the BEST pricing of all the available tree services. Grow up Sexy Trees. You're acting like an immature adolescent whose feelings were hurt by getting rejected at the school dance, If losing a single project from years ago is the tipping point for whether we merit your "great services", then thank you for showing us your true colors. We're better off that you demonstrated what is really important to you - and I can guarantee you that it's not the trees. read more

We have had Alex and his crew out on two separate occasions; once to remove a dead tree in a hard to reach area and again to trim a very old oak tree. Both times the guys did a great job. They communicated well prior, showed up on time, did a great job and cleaned up everything. Not a scratch on anything. Alex, the owner, even came by later the same day to inspect the work. Oh, and they are very reasonably priced and super nice to work with. Highly recommend. read more
