You ever sit there craving a burger and not a smash burger. A thick juicy burger. I do to. There are just some problems. I'll start with the good! The queso is like my favorite in Austin. Seriously good. But the fries are either wayyyy too salty or not salted at all. There is no in between. The burger - it has all the potential. My order included a classic burger medium well with fries along with aioli sauce (sauce crack...for real!). The brioche bun was soft on top and perfectly toasted at the center. The grilled onions were the standout. While I prefer waffle fries, the skinny fries with the aioli sauce were devine. My burger was good but a little on the well done side, but overall very fine. Cody, my server, was very attentive and checked on me periodically...laid back not in your face. Excellent service... Hopdoddy Burger has a large amount of inside space. We ordered the El Bandito Veggie Burger, the Vegetarian El Diablo Burger, Parmesan truffle fries, and a banana shake. I got the bacon burger and wow... easily one of the best burgers I've had in Texas. I almost never call a burger a 10 out of 10, but this one honestly deserves it. The flavors were perfect, the burger was juicy, and everything just worked together so well. This is officially one of my all time favorite burgers. This is a bar that servers burgers. This comment is only about the food. I took my daughter here for some bonding time. It was fairly crowded at 1:30PM, but we did not have to wait. My daughter ordered the El Diablo, I order the Classic w/ cheese but plain and dry, and a large order of fried. The Anderson Lane location doesn't seem to be as crazy crowded as it used to be so wait times are more reasonable now. I always get the Goodnight because I think the combination of beef, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, and BBQ sauce is always a winner. I really like the soft kolache bun. My wife always gets the Ahi Tuna, not a traditional burger but a great play on sushi toppings. The fries have improved. After being showered with Hopdoddy ads on YouTube for one of their burgers, decided to give it a try, realizing that one shared residency in a strip mall with the Dragons Lair Boardgame and Comic book store. Entering the premises for the first time, the bar tender kindly let us know that the line to order was at the back of the store (seating is in front) by the windows. I mean, it makes sense, but it's a little unclear that you just walk forward and then turn right. After staring at the menu for a while, we decided on the Cadillac Wagyu and Mother Nature. We were given a table number. It happened to be a corner window seat. The Cadillac Wagyu was nice and juicy. Mother Nature was drier, though that's likely due to the composition of the burger. Various ketchups were available on dispenser taps (near where you order). Also, a little odd was the fact that the kitchen or cashier messed up the Mother Nature order--a different burger had been entered instead, leading to a slight bit of confusion. Otherwise, metal trays and paper towels did their job with keeping everything clean. Would I come back to Hopdoddy's again? Perhaps. But I don't eat burgers that often, so I might only try it again after I've long forgotten about it, until they air another ad on YouTube reminding me of them. read more

Plenty of differing opinions on this location so I'll just say that overall, the burger experience here is pretty darn good. I appreciate that I can order a burger in a lettuce wrap (eating carnivore right now) and not be forced to eat around the bun that I'm going to toss anyway. Love the Cadillac Burger but want to try more of the menu. What didn't work for me is something that should be blatantly obvious to management. When you walk in, there are all kinds of signs but none of them explain what to do, i.e. how to get seated and place an order. Lots of workers running around here on a Saturday afternoon but they didn't have a greeter at the door. The QR codes at the tables don't take you to a menu, but to a customer service opinion app instead. I finally got on my phone and went to the Hopdoddy web site and located the online ordering page so I could place an order. I haven't been to this location before but will say that the parking lot can be challenging at times to find a parking spot. My friend and I sat at the bar.
