Honor Cafe. We just had another great brunch at Honor Cafe near downtown Conroe. This is quickly becoming our go to restaurant. We have found the food to be very high-quality and the portions to be ample. You can't beat the great people and the concept. It's like eating in a veterans museum/mess hall. Well........I just have to say I am so proud of the owner and his TEAM honoring the Veterans for serving our country and his community with a special place to put a picture of their loved one on the wall that served and or wanting to dine in and experience what I have. On Sunday mornings you may get Blessed to hear his Father play the piano. My sons picture is on the wall and at this time of year it is hard on Mothers, Fathers children to have that empty chair at their table. Christmas time Chris has a place where we can drop off cloths, shoes, toys for the men, women, and of course the kid's. It is a honor just to know Chris and his staff. I hope to see more kindness and giving to those who need a little help all over the world . Nostalgia and good food. As a veteran, this place brings back so many memories. There is memorabilia from all of the armed forces and from the places and missions where they served. My wife and I had the breakfast special and it was almost more than we could eat. And it was outstanding. The wait staff is prompt and a lot of fun to talk to. I debated a lot about this review. The core of this place is to honor all U.S. military personnel, and that's something we support 1000%. That alone gets three starts. And since it's a restaurant, we'll review that part too. The food is very good - large portions, very fresh. The service is excellent - young teens, well trained, sincere and pleasant. The decor is awesome - tons of military memorabilia from every branch of the service, covering the walls, ceilings, and display cases. Essentially a museum that serves food! One ding, and it's significant, is the overwhelming smell of mold or mildew. I'm guessing the building's been under water at some point, which is a terrible shame because otherwise this would be perfect. As it is, it's hard to dine at a place where the smell is off - that's half of eating. I'd love to hear that these guys tracked down the mildew and cleaned it out. We'd be regulars here and as proud to that as we are of our son's six years in the Navy. read more

All I can say is WOW! First time here and I have to say it was the best breakfast I've had in Texas by far. Besides the great cause and bringing awareness to our nations hero's, the food was amazing! You can taste that the ingredients are fresh (the biscuits were definitely just made this morning) the presentation was beautiful and was very affordable. My husband was really excited to try out this place. He specifically went to try out their gigantic pretzel. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed the music. It was a combination of 40s and 50s and modern Christian music. Very enjoyable. Of course, we also enjoyed their decor. Bringing honor to those who served and serve. The service was excellent and the food was scrumptious. My husband described their date, from their breakfast menu, as the best he has had in a while. I went with their cheese fries. Made with homemade fries, my favorite kind. The only thing he was not too happy about was the pretzel, mainly because he found it lacking in flavor. I know it's meant to be paired with their sauces, but not everyone has the same taste in condiments. My husband being one. All in all, we enjoyed the experience.
