Their honey bbq pork was not fresh. It's been sitting there for a while. Smells rancid and I took one bite, also has a rancid taste. I eat bbq pork all the time. I feel like their quality has gone down hill a lot and there's inconsistencies in certain dishes. Last time I came ordered a beef dish that was marinated in cumin but underneath the cumin it also tasted rancid. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of one because the other dishes I ordered were fine. This place is def sus. I probably won't order or come back anymore.

Good quality food here, though prices are a bit on the higher side for the area. But honestly, the flavors make it worth it for us. I stopped in during the afternoon and noticed they offer a lunch special menu; went with the mapo tofu plate and added a lemon tea for an extra dollar. The sauce had a gentle kick, nothing overwhelming, but that signature Sichuan pepper numbing effect came through nicely. The vegetables added a great bit of texture against the soft tofu, and the pork flavor was well distributed throughout the dish. Their mushroom tofu is another go-to for me. The mushrooms are big and juicy, and the tofu has that perfect contrast, soft on the inside with a slightly firmer exterior. I also tried the French toast, which leans pretty sweet on its own. Adding syrup pushed it a bit over the top for my taste, so I'd probably omit that next time. Overall, it's a solid spot, especially since it's in the same shopping center as 99 Ranch.

Came here for the first time and the waiters, staff, owner was kind. Lots of Hong Kong style snacks, food items on the menu along with selection of drinks. l Plenty of seating and easily accessible location being at the front of the plaza. Right off I80, check this place out!

Best Hainan chicken!! Great customer service. Their homemade black bean chili sauce is very good as well.

I've been on the hunt for the best baked pork chop spaghetti and as of right now, Hong Kong Cafe is top of the list! It's a little smaller portion compared to other places, but I love the sauce and tenderness of the pork chop here. The pork is thinly sliced too which makes it easy to eat, and the flavor of the sauce is perfection! This is a dish that does take a little longer to make, so just an FYI if you're eating with a group or short on time. My BF ordered the roast duck and roast pork combo, and I loved the flavor on both! The duck isn't too fatty and the roast pork had the right crunch I was looking for. We ordered this as a rice plate, so it came with a small side of cooked napa cabbage and two sauces. Both sauces were good, erring on the sweeter side, however the sauce you should really go for is the sa te one that's on the table. Totally elevates and complements the meat, and cabbage, as well as added that extra punch to my spaghetti. The sa te sauce isn't spicy, but it's jam packed with umami flavaaaa. They're on the left as soon as you walk into Pacific East mall. Parking lot is huge, however it's always packed in this lot. You'll find parking eventually though. The waiter was really nice but I noticed EVERY SINGLE TABLE got a tea pot except us. We weren't offered any nor did I ask for one, but I noticed they put one down on every new customer's table as soon as they sat down. Menu is large, prices are competitive and yes they do take card/Apple Pay.

Located in the Pacific East Mall with a Ranch 99, this spot is a great Hong Kong-style cafe addition to the area! Lots of parking in the lot (but make sure to put your valuables away!). We've come here for dinner a few times and are generally satisfied, with lots of leftovers! True to the hk style, there are lots of dishes to choose from. Portion sizes are large, and everything is shareable. Service is standard for a Chinese restaurant, but generally friendly. They also do dimsum on the weekend, and have lots of takeout options! Not a fancy spot, but great for a Chinese food fix.

We were craving for soup and ho fun after a hike and this place did not disappoint! This restaurant is inside a shopping plaza. Inside is super clean and spacious. Our server was super nice and attentive. We ordered a west lake beef soup, hot and sour soup, and scrambled egg and prawn chow fun. Everything was super delicious and filled our tummy. This might be our new favorite spot!

Still 5 stars for this place. Always delivers the expectations. Even though the item (pork cutlet on the side with lai fun noodle) wasn't on the menu, they crafted it just the way I wanted.

I went here on a weekday and it was packed! Service is quick and the food is tasty. It's nothing fancy but it's a good spot for casual Chinese food. We ordered off the set menu where you choose 4 dishes and they give you the Empress Chicken and soup for free. The whole meal was $88 and can feed 5-6 people. All of the dishes were pretty good but my favorite ones were the Hong Kong Style ribs and the salty fish chicken tofu. We also ordered bitter melon and ribs off the main menu which were also pretty good. Staff was friendly and parking is very easy as this is located in a large strip mall next to a Happy Lemon and 99 Ranch. I will be back!

After a fun day I'm SF, we stopped by around 4pm for a late lunch/early dinner at this cafe. So there was barely any customers and service was quick because there wasn't many guest yet. I really wanted to like this place because authentic Hong Kong style cafe food has been hard to find. Sadly this place was disappointing, the baked rice we came for had so much sauce. There was more sauce than rice and it was too sweet. It was hard to eat more than a few bites so we took the rest home. The beef chow fun was on a greasy side for me, but I did like that they added the yellow chives. The red bean ice drink was also too sweet for me. Overall, this place could improve if everything was just less sweet.

For an authentic HK Cafe dining experience the HK Cafe in Richmond does not disappoint. Excellent HK Milk Tea, Beef Chow Fun that has good wok hay, and on point Singaporean chow mi fun... Service is what one may expect from a typical HK Cafe... fast, efficient and non nonsense kind of quick service. Seating is roomy with booth seating snd large round tables for larger parties. Overall a great spot for HK food at great prices. :)

Came here with my family of five on the Fourth of July, and we had a great experience. The food came out hot, the portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The service was friendly even though it was busy. We'll definitely be back!

The dumplings were delicious and even better with some chili oil. The chicken fried rice had huge chunks of egg and chicken which I loved with a deep soy flavor. Staff is friendly and make sure to ask if anything additional is needed like napkins, etc. Overall a fun experience, fair pricing, located in the hustle and bustle of the mall, and cool digs if you're looking for a comfortable dining experience without the frills.

CQ…read morerepresents everything I love about a family-owned Chinese restaurant and is a place I'll continue to visit and support. Cucumber Salad (7/10): Pretty different from most typical cucumber salads that are sesame oil-heavy. This version was more acidic, almost like a pickled cucumber dish. It wasn't mind-blowing, but it worked well as a refreshing palate cleanser between the more flavorful entrées. Shanghai Style Sweet & Sour Ribs (8/10): Very reminiscent of American-style Chinese food. The ribs were extremely tender, and the sauce was sweet without being too overpowering. Pairing bites with rice and cucumbers kept me wanting more. The bok choy on the plate was simply boiled, and while I enjoy clean, plain vegetables, others might expect a bit more. Braised Beef Noodle Soup (8.5/10): There are many noodle options to try here, and we went with the regular hand-pulled. The noodles were good, though I personally wished they were a bit firmer. The broth had a deep umami flavour and was exceptionally well seasoned. I found myself dunking rice from the set plate into the broth and just eating that. The meat could have used a little more character, as it was just tender slices, but it didn't need much more since the broth carried the dish. Definitely a place I plan to visit anytime I'm in the area, and I'm excited to try more of the delicious dishes on their menu.

So, I just asked her if she could please pack it to go. Which she did. We ordered some calamari, which we all liked. My daughter and I ordered some soups, I don't remember what they were called. If you see Nam Khao on the menu of a Laotian/Thai restaurant, that means they know what they are doing just because it's so labor-intensive to make a salad(!) and the fermented pork has to be damn-near perfect for this salad to really shine and round out the fresh herbs and seasonings which includes lime juice, vinegar, and fish sauce. Ka Soy (the noodle soup) is a comfort food enjoyed in Southeast Asia. It's not the Thai-style where it's a curry broth and the noodles are fried, so let's not get it mixed up. Instead, it's bone broth that been simmered for hours and it's somewhat a lighter broth. The noodles are wide rice noodles in a big bowl of hot broth served with a mixture of ground pork cooked down with tomatoes along with fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and cilantro - simply a divine noodle soup that a must-try. It's not overly complex in terms of flavor, but it's a bowl of good ol' noodle soup that is comforting and great-tasting.
