Came here Saturday night around 6pm. Only a few tables occupied. Very humble, basic, and clean. Seems to have a decent amount of seating and tables. They have the familiar QR code scanning to order system which is always nice. The menu is not expansive or progressive, but that's not why people come here. We got the beef rolls (first time getting it - fairly tasty, but need to compare to other places). We noticed most of the other tables later had ordered it. Got the braised beef noodle soup - noodles had a nice chewy consistency and the broth was easy to sip without being too salty or spicy. It was "basic", but good. Also got the soup dumplings which were flavorable although could use a bit more juice. It was a very affordable dinner compared to a typical night out and we will come back to try some other familiar staples. read more

Came here in a weekday for lunch. We order a via QR code on the table and the food came out quickly. Food was pretty good. The Jiajiangmein was a little disappointing because it was very heavy on the onion side and seemed more like a Korean version than a Chinese version. read more

I came here for lunch with a group of 6! We ordered a few things and everyone was happy with their meal. I had the dumpling soup, my friend had the chicken fried rice, another had the pork fried rice, another had the braised beef noodle soup and we shared vegetable eggrolls. When you arrive you may see someone making their house made dumplings in the window! I really liked my soup with the red chili paste they set out on the tables and the vinegar. So I found my new favorite noodle spot near campus. What makes this place stand out is THE BEEF. so good. you can really taste that the beef has been braised, whereas I've typically found that beef at the other noodle spots tend to just taste like meat. here, the flavor has really been soaked up. not to mention that the broth itself is equally flavorful, you get wood ear mushrooms in addition to bokchoy, and the noodles are perfectly chewy! all for only 13.99 with hearty leftovers for another meal. will be back :) read more

Very authentic Chinese comfort food! Their signature dish is the Anhui-style banmian (wide noodles) which is hard to find in the US. Braised beef noodle soup is good as well. Service is great and the owners are really nice. read more

First time trying our family kitchen. To confirm they make fresh dumplings, a worker is making them fresh in the front window. We ordered a variety of dishes - scallion pancake, vegetarian mapo tofu, vegetarian dumplings, garlic broccoli and vegetarian chow mein. The scallion pancake was ok, overly greasy and pretty thin for a pancake. Dumplings had a nice thin wrap but the inside could use more flavor for a veg dumpling. The chow mein was the best dish but also came out last. Broccoli was ok, nothing too special and I probably would go for the string beans next time. Very nice, super reasonably priced option for Chinese food in Berkeley. Beef bao buns were seasoned perfectly. The soup dumplings were a little disappointing because they were obviously frozen items and then reheated because they were still in there foil sleeves. Quick and attentive service! The server gave us great recommendations based on our food restrictions and also--and you won't get this at every Chinese place--a consideration of the flavors and textures of the other items we had already ordered. This guaranteed a variety in our family-style meal as good as if we had been going to the restaurant for years, but without the trial and error that typically comes with developing that kind of ordering expertise. One appetizer, one veggie dish, one noodle dish, and one order of dumplings was enough for 3 people and leftovers besides. Good vegan options as well as for pescatarians, will definitely be going back to try more. Expected everything to be too salty, as Chinese restaurants in the US are wont to do, but sodium levels here were perfect for me. I was pleasantly surprised! I prefer my dumplings without any additional condiments but others in my party used some. The hard part will be NOT ordering everything that was so delicious again. A member of our party was in a wheelchair but they accommodated us easily. Went after concert on Saturday evening, the place was surprisingly empty - the food is quite good and provide good value. The place is clean and nicely decorated. The Cilantro With Bean Curd is outstanding dish - it is tofu skin with cilantro and we could not help but ordered second serving. read more

Be aware that the "Vegetarian Dumplings" actually contain shrimp. This wasn't an issue for us as pescatarians, but the menu should be updated for those expecting a truly vegetarian option. The sesame noodles were unfortunately inedible--the noodles were undercooked and the sesame sauce lacked flavor. Even after adding chili oil and vinegar, it didn't improve. Continuing my yearlong journey trying all the new hand-pulled noodle places popping up around town, I had to try this spot that just opened a few weeks ago. I'd say it's a 3.5 star restaurant that still working on operations and service. The place was full for a Friday night dinner, but no queue yet. It feels spacious as there are fewer tables than the space can probably accommodate. I'm used to Chinese restaurants packing you in like sardines :) So that's nice. For the life of me I can't recall what was in this space before but it looks lightly updated from whatever it was before. There was just 1 server working the entire dining room. So he doesn't have time to check on your table or make any small talk. He's too busy running around. On to the food, we had pork and scallion dumplings, which were my favorite thing we had. Great flavor and perfect thickness of dough. I like it thicker than what I normally find at dim sum. Also had chicken chow mein, which was also flavorful, but not a lot of chicken pieces. Also had garlic string beans. Good flavor but it tasted old/not fresh from the texture. A lot of reviews mentioned the sesame balls so had that for dessert. These were small so not too big. I liked that they were hot when delivered to the table because often times at dim sum it's room temp. Good chewy dough, but I wish there was more sweet filling. We ended up not getting noodle soup because it was a warm day, so I regret not trying it. But now I have a reason to come back to see how operations improved next time! read more

Friday night post dinner walk, I'm like, "I'm full but Chinese sounds real good right now". Walked past a woman making dumplings in the window at 9+ at night. Notice a sign that says tomorrow is their soft opening. Obviously a sign. Came back the next night (yesterday) for their soft opening. Ordered the scallion oil noodles, pork and scallion dumplings, soup dumplings, salt and pepper tofu, stir fry string beans, coke, jasmine tea, and chicken chow mein. Chicken wasn't dry which is always a fear of mine. Everything was so good, I knew I had to write a review. Gotta support small business and figured they could use it being new. Sorry I didn't get any pics, it got devoured. Definitely will be back. Prices are super reasonable, place was clean and cute. Everyone was super kind, everything came out quick. From time to time, my Chinese roots call for comfort food, and I go searching for a new restaurant to satisfy the craving. I recently found a new favorite in the aptly named Our Family Table. The vibe is simple, clean, and utilitarian. You come for the food, and they absolutely deliver. The Signature Hand Pulled Wide Noodle with Beef was superb. The noodles had the perfect al dente chew, the broth was deeply flavorful and expertly seasoned, and the beef chunks were tender, rich, and satisfying. Altogether, the dish was downright addictive. The Green Chive and Pork Dumplings tasted as though they had been lovingly handmade by someone's grandmother. They were so good that I bought an extra frozen order to enjoy another day. The Eggplant with Garlic Sauce leaned slightly sweet for my taste, but it was still delicious and practically demanded a bowl of rice alongside it. The Steamed Beef Bun brought back memories of Xi'an. The dough was soft and delicate, while the filling was tender, savory, and packed with umami.
