Adding honeycomb on top of ice cream is a novel idea, but the combination is as tasty as you can imagine. It's nothing too special, if not a bit gimmicky.
This is honestly the best Honeymee in Orange County. It's in a quaint plaza with other food spots, such as a hot pot and boba spot. They also have some items on the menu that other Honeymee's don't have. The employees here are also usually friendlier than some of the other locations. However, if you don't want to talk to anyone while ordering, a kiosk is available. Personally, my favorite item is the Sweetie, which has true milk ice cream drizzled with honey. The Honeymee -- true milk ice cream with honeycomb -- is also pretty good if you're into honeycombs. My bf's favorite is the Dear Caramel, which has a caramel drizzle topped with what is reminiscent of dalgona coffee bits. The milkshakes here are also a solid choice. While I'm still sad that my favorite and closest Honeymee location in Garden Grove closed a couple of years ago, the Irvine location is pretty reliable in terms of consistency and service.
The ice cream shop is conveniently located within a busy Asian shopping complex, making it an easy stop while in the area. Since this is an established chain, I was already familiar with the quality of the ice cream, and the product itself did not disappoint. Unfortunately, the service at this particular location could use improvement. There were mistakes with both our order and the payment, which required the ice cream to be remade and the transaction to be processed again. Mistakes are understandable, but I was surprised to see an employee forcefully throw the incorrectly prepared ice cream into the trash in front of customers. The way the situation was handled came across as unnecessarily unprofessional. One feature I really appreciated was the small plate attached to the cone, which made it much easier to catch drips and avoid a mess. Overall, the ice cream was good and the location is convenient, but the service experience fell short of what I would expect from this chain.
Cute ice cream shop located in OC. The shopping center is busy so it's more of a grab and sit in your car to eat kind of spot. There is ample parking around but I could picture it filling up on a really busy night. I am glad it's open a bit later than most shops and very fast quick service. I would highly recommend the Dalgona Affogato it was very good.
I've been coming to Honeymee ever since they first opened during peak COVID era, and for years the Darling was one of our go-to orders. Back then, the soft serve was incredibly creamy, rich, and had a thick consistency that made it stand out from other dessert spots. Over the past few years though, it seems like the recipe or preparation has changed. Since around 2022, the soft serve felt more diluted, with a lighter and airier texture. It's still enjoyable, but it doesn't have the same dense, creamy consistency that I remember, especially during the height of the pandemic when it seemed to be at its best. That said, the Darling is still a classic menu item, and the honey flavor remains unique. I keep coming back partly out of nostalgia and partly because there still aren't many places that offer quite the same combination. I just miss the richer, creamier version that it initially had and hope that the recipe will change for the better.
Wanted to give Honeymee another try after being disappointed the last couple of visits. Something just feels different. I used to love coming here when this location first opened. The soft serve had great flavor and was super rich and creamy. But the last few times, something has felt off. One visit, the soft serve tasted so watered down that I could barely taste the flavor. This time, it tasted more like whipped cream than actual soft serve, both in texture and flavor. It's honestly disappointing because I came here 6-7 times when they first opened and really enjoyed it. Not sure if the recipe changed or quality has become inconsistent, but it just doesn't taste the same as I remember.
Consistently good... Came here after dinner at momo paradise, and can't complain. Got the honey ice cream with the drizzle and cornflakes, and it was creamy and perfectly sweet. Friends also got the coffee Oreo shake, and that was amazing. Coffee flavor was strong without being too artificial. Place was clean and staff were nice.
Was in the area and wanted some sweet and this place popped up. Had it before in Gardena and it's quite good and natural sweet. Good menu with great varies choices. Got couple small and it just hitted all the right place. Parking can be a hassle since it right at the exit way and abit tough to get it or you can park inside and walk over. Staff are nice and friendly. The place is clean, spacious with nice and cute decor, the vibe is chill and relax. Seating area is small but doable. Nice cute place with great quality of ice cream and good service.
It's been a while since I last visited a Honeymee, and this trip brought back a lot of great memories. I still love that soft, smooth, and rich milk flavor. The texture is perfectly creamy without feeling too heavy. Service was fast and efficient, and everything came out just as expected. It's the kind of place that delivers consistency, which makes it easy to come back to. Definitely a spot worth revisiting when you're craving something simple and satisfying.
Came here because HeyTea didn't have either of the drinks I wanted to order and for nostalgia sake. I used to go to the one in Buena Park and my mom and I loved their sweetie ice cream. I ordered the lavender milkshake today because that used to be another favorite order of mine. My only minor complaint is that I'd have to echo another reviewer that the milkshake wasn't filled to the top of the cup which is a bummer especially since the drink is $7.45. While the flavor and consistency was still perfect, I hope they end up fixing their measurements so that we get what we paid for. Otherwise, they have a cute small interior with some limited seating. They also sell honey some there. Barely any wait so I got served my drink quickly.
I love their soft serve more than anyone else's including SomiSomi. Just getting their plain vanilla in a waffle cone with a drizzle of honey (or not) is peak confectionery perfection! The quality is impeccable and decadent. It tastes closer to actual ice cream than any other soft serve. Service is fine. Ambiance is still all right. There is a dumpling house and Ranch 99 and Kaju Tofu in the same plaza, so there's lots to tastefully enjoy!
Pretty good sweet treat in a pinch. I think the honey drizzle is a little gimmicky. I think if they used honey as their primary ice cream sweetener it would be more on theme.
I am such a sucker for milk ice cream and it's my favorite ice cream flavor. Such a simple flavor but is so delicious when it's done well! There used to be a Honeymee near where I'm from but they closed down so I haven't had it in years. It was just as good as I remembered if not better! I got the darling which is just a plain milk ice cream. It was so amazing that I finished the entire thing and I never usually finish my ice cream because I get too full but I literally couldn't stop eating. My friends and I sat inside, it's really bright and there were a few small tables. It's right next to Heytea and the best part is that it's just as good but there's never a line!

Was craving something sweet after dinner in the same plaza as Honeymee and decided to grab dessert here. Got the Honey Affogato and really enjoyed it. Coffee is strong and a nice balance with the soft serve and honey. Honey ended up not too overpowering over the coffee and soft serve which was preferred. Even my girlfriend was pleasantly surprised with how well everything balanced together. Their soft serve is good and even the classic one with just honey is good, but if you want a small change (and enjoy strong sweet coffee) I'd recommend trying this out. Price is expensive for what it is in my opinion. I never felt the price matched the amount you got but the quality is good. A nice once in awhile splurge for me honestly. Worth the try! read more

I really like Honeymee overall--their concept and presentation are great. However, the chocolate and caramel toppings were just okay. The ice cream itself is dense in texture but has a very mild flavor--there's no strong or even moderate taste of vanilla or any other distinctive notes beyond what you get from the toppings. So if you prefer a clean, subtle taste, this might be perfect for you. But if you're looking for something rich and flavorful, you might find it a bit underwhelming. This wee little shop is so cute! I love the ambiance and vibe of the place! The service is quick and with a smile. They know their menu and are happy to help you order. Their menu has typical Asian flavored ice cream and some unique honey items. I just wanted a small snack and LOVE matcha so I just got a cup of matcha ice cream. It is a soft and creamy ice cream with nice mild matcha flavors. If you love matcha I would recommend it. If you don't I would define say try it because the flavor is mild and this could be your gateway product into loving matcha read more

It's a cute little place to stop by to satisfy a night time ice cream craving. I was hesitant at first to try because I can't stand toooo sweet of a dessert but I'm glad I did. They really know how to not make their items too sweet and leave the star of the show to shine: the honey! I got the matcha sweetie and though the matcha was very subtle, it made the milk and the honey truly shine. My tip is to add sea salt. It's a perfect touch to make the perfect balance of sweet and salty with that hint of salt! read more

The brown sugar boba was exactly as described. The flavor profiles are spot on and the ratios of everything was balanced. Overall, it's pretty sweet for a dessert option. They do a good job of creating moderate serving sizes so it's not too much. They also serve tea and coffee. I had the honey citron tea served hot, and it was great. Kinda tasted like a cough drop, but it's just what I needed for a chilly CA evening. They're located in a shopping center so there's plenty of parking. The employees were friendly and helpful in giving recommendations. There's isn't a lot of dine in space and no outdoor table options. read more

Stopped by Honeymee after hearing great things, and it definitely lived up to the hype! I got the Matcha Honeymee Ice Cream and the classic Honeymee Ice Cream, and both were absolutely delicious. The matcha flavor was rich and smooth, while the honey ice cream had the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The service was friendly and quick, and the staff made sure to explain the menu and help with recommendations. The ambiance inside is small but cozy, perfect for a quick treat, though it can get a bit crowded. This is one of my favorite dessert spots! The ice cream is so creamy and perfect along with the honey and other add ons you might get. You honestly can't go wrong! They have come up with new flavors such as the matcha one that is also very good. I miss the bread ice cream sandwich that was what started my love for this place. Service is good and quick. First time at Honeymee and although many options looked great, the shake is what caught my eye. They have a lot of different flavors and ultimately you can get an ice cream version or a milk shake version with some exceptions. It took a while to order and we could tell the workers were trying their best but were slammed with orders. But once order was in, we only had to wait 5 minutes for our drinks to be ready. I got the matcha milk shake and it was soooo good! The creamy and smooth consistency was perfect and the matcha flavor was spot on. My only complaint is the price $6-$7 is a bit steep but that's the state of the world we're in QQ. read more
I'm a fan of this place! The interior is cozy and decorated with cute honey and bee decor. Staff is very nice and accomodating with our questions. We ordered the matcha affogato ice cream and brown sugar boba ice cream. The soft serve is so creamy and served as a good backdrop for the accompanying flavors. The matcha and honey was a good combination, with the sweetness offsetting the bitterness perfectly. The brown sugar was just the right amount of sweetness and the boba was soft and chewy. I got the Honey Matcha Latte and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed... it just tastes like milk. The matcha flavor is completely absent and the honey flavor is really REALLY light. The service was nice and the drink came out quickly, but I'm upset that I spent $5.87 on a cup of milk. Don't come if you actually like matcha. Come if you want expensive milk. read more
Quick service and a couple seats inside if you wanted to enjoy your sweet treats there. Got the matcha sweetie and oh my goodness, it served my matcha needs!! The flavor isn't too heavy which made this my boyfriend's favorite dessert. The honey could definitely overpower the matcha unless you eat it w the correct spoon proportions LOL. I saw in store that they use premium quality matcha but they do offer ceremonial matcha to be sprinkled on top. I actually tried the other location in Buena Park and I prefer the Irvine location due to its quality consistency. Tried Honeymee for the first time and it did not disappoint! There is plenty of parking in the plaza; however, it can get crowded at times. The inside was smaller than I thought. It only had a few tables (more of a grab n go ice cream place). I got the matcha soft serve. The texture was very nice and creamy. It had a refreshing taste but it did not have a strong matcha flavor. I also tried the milk soft serve that was very good! read more

My gf absolutely loves Hokkaido ice cream and this place popped up on yelp when we searched for it. We decided to give this place a try: 1. Yuzu Affogato: My gf didn't really like the yuzu with the ice cream. She felt the Yuzu was good and the soft serve was good but the mix together wasn't great. I agree when I had a bite. I liked how creamy the soft serve was but it didn't mix well. 2. Honey Affogato: I loved the honey one. I actually saved it for the next day and it tasted even better with the honey a bit more frozen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Overall, I like the bunch of options and flavors that the had. I did feel the size was a bit small for what you pay for. It's not a lot different from the $1 ice cream cones you can get in Japan with some flavored sauce sprinkled on top. read more

It was my first time trying Honeymee and I can't get enough. I will be coming back to try the Matcha honey because I got the sweetie and then I also got the honey affogato. Both of these were so delicious, the honey affogato is strong coffee, but it balances is out with they honey. That honey is something else though, it's perfect. The parking was easy to find and the service was so fast. I couldn't believe when I got the ice cream, it was literally so fast. The place is small on the inside but they have really nice decor up, makes it feel like home. read more
My brother told me about this place so on a hot day, we decided to swing by for some dessert. It's a small cute place and ghee service was good. I ordered the regular milk and one with strawberry jam, as I was hesitant to try other ones that may seem too sweet for my pallet. The soft serve ice cream was high quality! Clean, not soggy, and delicious. The strawberry jam added a nice extra touch for me. I would definitely come back again to try other flavors. read more

My friends and I came here looking for a light(ish) dessert after a heavy dinner. To be honest, I came in with pretty low expectations, and those expectations were met. I was debating between the Dear Chocolate and the Brown Sugar Boba. Being the indecisive girl I am, I decided to ask the cashier for her recommendation. She said her personal favorite was the Brown Sugar Boba, but the boba does melt the ice cream sometimes. She also said the Dear Chocolate was more popular, so I went with that one. It came out really quickly, so you definitely don't have to worry about waiting here! The Dear Chocolate was $5.95 and in my opinion it tasted just like a McDonald's sundae which I could get for a lot cheaper. The ice cream was just forgettable and I made the mistake of adding sea salt to mine which made it way too salty. I would only come here if I went to McDonald's, their ice cream machine was broken, and I was dead set on eating their ice cream LOL. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't come back. read more

SOOOOOO GOOD! Seriously the creamiest, thickest, best, delicious soft serve I've had! I got the Matcha Affogato and it was perfection! Not too sweet, ceremonial grade matcha wasn't bitter and the drizzle of raw honey with the cold soft serve was sticky and sooo good! I also love that the portions aren't super huge they're the perfect size! HIGHLY recommend and my new addiction lol read more

This place would be Pooh Bear's honey dream!!! Honeymee features soft serve, shakes, and various drinks with honey as one of its main stars. I love getting the Sweetie--it's their vanilla soft serve with honey drizzle. The ice cream is so fresh and creamy and the honey you can tell is 100% natural. It's a combo that sounds weird but it's perfect. I feel like the ice cream is a tiny bit on the less sweet side so the honey drizzle is a perfect addition. Inside is pretty small, so I would probably suggest getting to go. If you do opt for delivery, they do package if very nicely and over ice, so your frozen treats stay nice and cold. If you love honey and delicious soft serve--this place is for you!!! read more

I love honeymee! The ice cream is so delicious and we love to bring friends to try it. The honeymee specifically is the best with the honey comb piece. It offers a nice cold treat that isn't overly sweet. Line can get busy but the service is pretty fast. It's a small location so not much seating inside. They also sell the honey in jars. I'm always tempted to buy it for extra honey haha read more
