Mulnaengmyeon
Lei A.

It feels like you've stepped into a restaurant in South Korea. My family has become regulars at this place, and how could you now? They have an unbeatable AYCE menu with well-known favorites and some lesser known dishes to fit everyone's palette, I'm sure you can find something good to eat at Honey Pig. My favorite dish is the Mulnaengmyeon, which they even have in a smaller potion so it's ideal for me if I don't feel like sharing and they never forget the mustard and vinegar bottles to customize the dish to your liking, just like in Korea. It can get pretty busy during some of the evenings, weekends, or Holidays so keep that in mind if you don't want to wait long. But the owner and all the staff are very nice and cook the food for you even if you're confident in your grilling skills. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the food as it comes, hot and ready, off the grill.

I was able to call in to make a reservation for 6 people at 12:00pm on a Saturday. The restaurant was quite empty when we arrived, so we could have walked in if we had not made the reservation. I have been to the North Austin location countless times, and they do not have all you can eat at that location. So I was very surprised to learn this location offers it! But we decided to get the premium combo since it comes with 9 different meats of pork, beef and squid, as well as steamed egg, soybean paste soup, and 3 bowls of rice. It is so nice that the staff cooks the meat for you at your table and let you know when it is ready to eat. As always, it was delicious. The servings are so generous. We were not able to finish everything. We definitely recommend this restaurant, especially getting combos for a big group of people!

Spent Thanksgiving lunch here, walking in expecting just another Korean BBQ joint--same grill, same routine. But the difference hit fast: the service. Attentive in a way you don't see often, with honest suggestions instead of the usual upsell dance. We skipped the AYCE chaos and went with their pre-order BBQ, and thank God we did--the meats were more than enough, quality over quantity all day. For all of you who refused to cook and stress this holiday, do yourself a favor and eat here. It's the right kind of escape.

My husband and I came here for dinner. We ordered the beef combo. The meat we had were very tasty. The staff kind of comes by and help cook it for you. But you're welcome to cook yourself, of course. We did have to remind our waiter about our initial sides and you can ask for refills. My favorite side was the macaroni one. I really like the la beef rib and beef brisket. Tip to keep your food warm just push the food towards the edge of the grill instead of leaving it on the middle. The room was well ventilated and not smoky. The tables and chairs were stable. When you sit at a round table, pay attention to where the small metal basket is that's where all the oil kind of drips into.. you want to sit away from that. Admittedly,, the drawback was that this place is not all you can eat. This is a la carte.

The weather remains confusing, but Korean barbecue doesn't need a season. No issues with parking and service was excellent, the only thing I had to do was pour myself water and enjoy delicious cuts of skillfully cooked beef. The pre-lunch rush atmosphere was very chill, vibes were only enhanced by a Girls Generation marathon. The Beef Combo is beyond adequate to feed two people, and very capable of satisfying three. $109.99 can initially seem steep, but you really get your money's worth with everything offered, sides included.

What they lack in their all you can eat menu they make up in their great sides! Their sides taste fresher than other ayce kbbq spots and they have unlimited steamed egg. Delicious. I eat three minimum each visit. They do have limits on the better meats like galbi and jowl but their other meats are great quality. The beef brisket is fatty and the pork belly strips are fatty and juicy. Good service.

Food is always a hit. Personally we prefer to order a la carte because we can order the meats we really enjoy over the preset platter options (those are great deals too for the price and for bigger groups). The boneless marinated galbi, and spicy pork belly are our go tos. The banchan is delicious with multiple free refills. When they first opened the service was super top notch. Very attentive, and grilled the meat to perfection. Took off one star because over the years, the service has become lax, and they almost seem annoyed to do things and misses out on water refills or order items. The ambiance reminds of how it is in South Korea, but they do need to update their acoustics because when the birthday song comes on (and it comes on a lot), it is shrill and static-y at the same time.

Super big place tons of seating!! Parking lots is real crazy and packed but that's kinda a given. I ordered the kimchi pancake and was very happy with it but it could've had more spice to it. Sauce it came with tbh was perfect for it. I also got bulgogi and spicy chicken. Bulgogi was fine not one of the best I've had, spicy chicken was sooooo yummy though!!!! Their rice was pretty good as well as the banchan. Pricing was alright especially if you have a big group to share. Also had some Korean pear juice which was good. Would love to try some more things if I come back. Bathroom was fine and pretty clean! And they played good music with the music videos playing on like 7 TVs.

Had a great experience here. It was my first time and we had great service. We had a big group so I got two of the premium special combos. For me this was good for like 8 adults and 4 kids included. I liked how it was cooked for us since they knew how long everything was to be cooked and I can concentrate on the kids and family and not have to memorize cooking times for each meat. I really enjoyed everything that it came with. There was one meat. I think it was the boneless ribs that were thick chunks. That was a bit chewy to eat. But other than that everything else was delicious. The place was clean and I love the open atmosphere. I would come here again. Maybe try their AYCE menu next time.

Finally was able to visit this place. Wanted to try when it was 1st open but the lines are always long. But now no more lines since a lot of AYCE bbq pop up. Price range honestly is not cheaper than the AYCE places but the service is better. The servers were eager to help you cut the meat. Food quality was good. We like it Oh when we were there last weekend they didn't serve alcohol so it BYOB

My partner and I had Honey Pig in Maryland & to say that we were excited to see that Houston had a couple locations, is an understatement. We have tried both this location as well as the one in Katy and both agree that the Sharpstown location is our preferred location. Food wise, both locations are equally delicious. However, the service at Sharpstown is friendlier and more efficient. My partner and I shared the fresh pork belly and the brisket. Our server cooked both meats to perfection. Even when the restaurant started to get busier, our server stayed attentive & made sure we had everything we needed. My partner and I can't wait to go back next time we are in Houston. Our only complaint is that they don't have a location in our current area of residence.

The toughest hanger steak I've ever eaten...... hanger steak should be tender.... Not leather...

Food is terrible... flavor is very off for marinated meat, cut incorrectly so very tough and chewy. Spit most things out. Save your money as try another place Did AYCE menu

This was the best meal I had my entire weekend! The place had ample parking. There was a solid staff cleaning, and the place was spotless. The front desk staff was helpful and patient with newbies, recommending menu items and accompaniments from the bar nearby. I had the chorizo breakfast taco and the pulled pork hash taco - I was delighted to find out that "hash" meant a delicious hash brown inside the taco. The egg was creamy and perfect inside a taco, the cheese was good, the meat was amazing. I don't think it's possible for me to be happier with roughly $9 in breakfast food. I will make it a point, even if it's not on my way, to visit Pit Room every time I'm in the Houston area going forward. It is a destination restaurant, in my opinion!

My wife and I had had a great experience at the Pit Room previously, so brought the rest of my family here to experience. I found the food to continue to be really good, especially the fatty brisket. Stopped by around 11 am, and there was still parking in the dedicated surface lot next to the building. The smell of bbq wasn't as prevalent as last time. Once walking in, you stand in line to first order your meat...which is immediately sliced in front of you. You then move further along to ask for your sides, including as many slices of plain white bread as you want. My daughter treated us this time, so didn't record prices, but thought it was reasonable. I liked the sliced brisket a lot, along with the side of elote corn and mac n cheese. The free toppings bar had the various pickled vegetables that really cut through the fattiness of the meat. Drinks were all self serve, with a water station and soda fountain. Probably ordered a bit less than expected for 4 people, but was happy that there were no left overs, and left not completely stuffed, since we had a long day ahead of us. By the time we left a little after noon, there was both a wait for tables and parking. We had come at the right time.

Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The pork ribs were the star of the show. So tender, fall off the bone deliciousness. The brisket on the other hand was a little dry and I wish it had more flavor, but the sauce made up for it. We also got the Mac n cheese with brisket on top. They really did not skimp out on the brisket. It was very delicious and the Mac n cheese was perfectly creamy and decadent. They also pickles, pickled jalapeño, and onions on the side which really cut the fat from the meat. The coleslaw that we got was okay though. Overall, it was a great experience. All the employees were nice and patient with us since it was our first time here and we had some questions. The vibes were definitely there. Will def stop by here if we ever go to Texas again!!

We came a little earlier and there was already a long line. I heard that if you order in advance, you can skip the line. While you wait, the employees walk around and you can order a drink. I was still a great experience and very delicious. I highly recommend to try if you're in the area.

I've tried those deemed "the best," including Salt Lick in Driftwood and Killen's. So how did CorkScrew measure up? In addition to the beef rib, we tried the moist brisket, pulled pork, and sausage. We also tried several sides, including those recommended in the Michelin review: potato salad, mac and cheese, smokey beans, and coleslaw, and I picked up a peach cobbler, as well. The beef rib: STELLAR. This was outstanding with its flavorful bark and an impossibly tender texture that truly melts in your mouth, unlike any other beef rib I've ever had. Easily the very best beef rib, without a doubt. The brisket was delicious, as well: tender and flavorful. The sausage was nothing special... on par with sausage elsewhere, as was the pork. As for the sides, I've never been a fan of beans, but since the Michelin review specifically mentioned them, I gave them a try. I'm a fan! I would definitely order these again. Their smokiness is gently tamed by a touch of sweetness. The rest? Very average. The mac and cheese tasted like the stuff I had in my elementary school cafeteria - very un-special. The potato salad was salty and was missing any semblance of potato chunks. The texture was oddly like lumpy mashed potatoes. But the other surprise for me: the cobbler. This was simply and divinely perfect with crisp, sweet buttery crumble. A wonderful way to end a hearty meal. I'm so glad I ordered our food online for pickup. When I arrived at 1pm, the line was wrapped around the building. Pickup was very easy: I texted them when I arrived, and they replied when they were ready for me to go in and retrieve it. But even if there wasn't a line, I would never eat there: the restaurant is too divey for me: very rustic, picnic-like feel both inside and out, and it was uncomfortably warm and humid (again, inside and out.) The staff was very friendly and cheerful. Glad i tried it, and when i get a hankering for a good beef rib, this is definitely where I'll be getting it!

The taste of the pulled pork tacos was great, but it was honestly too wet and made the flour tortillas too soggy and there was way too much coleslaw on top. I feel like if Killen's is going to serve pulled pork tacos there needs to be three things done. 1. Serve the tacos with an option of corn tortillas because I feel corn tortillas would've worked better to give a great contrast/pairing with the sweetness of the pulled pork and sauce. 2. Serve the corn/flour tortillas on the side so that they don't get soggy and wet. 3. There are some things that just don't belong on a taco of any kind and that's coleslaw. My partner and I also tasted the banana pudding and to say it was divine is an understatement. What I really like about this pudding was that you could taste real bananas in this pudding and it had been mixed well all together. Our total was $80 after tipping, which is a little pricey for some of the items, but honestly I would definitely come back to Killen's Barbecue when I was in the mood for barbecue.
