干锅排骨虾 / Dry Pot Spareribs with Shrimp
Kathy D.

Triple Pepper is easily one of the best Sichuan-style restaurants in Houston. My fiancée and I ordered three different dishes, and every single one was a 10/10. The flavors were bold, authentic, and perfectly balanced--exactly what you want from Sichuan cuisine. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone who loves spicy, flavorful food. Come hungry!

Good lord the food was stunning and knocked me out. Dumplings were incredible and had a really unexpected sweetness to them. cold noodles slapped. crispy chicken dish was very good. And one of the most incredible tasting, savory, delicious hot and sour soups I have ever had. Yes szechuan is one of my favorite cuisines, but this place was truly special. Plus good service and solid portions and price. Nothing was wicked spicy, even the dishes listed as such, but that is okay, and everything definitely had a little kick to it! Easily five stars.

They're not kidding calling this triple pepper. Wildly spicy, with tons of red peppers. Also very delicious and different from typical American style Chinese. Definitely worth trying if you like spicy food. I ordered via Uber eats so I can't comment on service or ambiance. But it came quickly which was good. And they had a good bogo deal which encouraged me to try it for the first time. This was a 4.5 star experience for me, because it was a little too spicy, but I'm rounding up.

Decided to randomly go to Chinatown to find something to eat and we saw that this place had good reviews. We ordered fried dumplings, beef/shrimp chow mein, and black pepper beef. The food took about 20 minutes. Everything tasted delicious. I believe we paid $42 for all 3 dishes! I would come back but I would pass on the fried dumplings.

Hot and sour glass noodle

I first heard some reviews when they just opened and always been hesitated to try, but now I'm glad I did. The service, environment, and food are wonderful. Prices for the dishes varies but the portion is very generous, would be a good pick for big family dine out and they take reservations. My most recommend would be the dry pots and the hot sour noodles. All the dry pot will be served with the fish hanger, great for picture and aesthetic. The glass noodle is numbing spicy and tangy because of the vinegar so makes it so addicting to keep eating. Overall their dishes are not too spicy, and they have non spicy specialities too. I will come back again to try more!

Chinatown has changed so much, and the plaza with the original Mala is no exception. Triple Pepper has brazenly shown up a stone's throw away. I already went twice in the last two weeks, and when I brought up the first time to my dad (we're Sichuanese), he asked me every day when we would go. Dishes we ordered across the 2 days: == Tossed clear noodles with chili sauce == solid, great texture on the noodles, good spice levels, 5/5 == Sliced beef and ox tongue in chili sauce == solid, this might be one of the more 'adventurous' dishes for those who are unfamiliar with the uncommon beef cuts. 5/5 == Fish fillet with rattan pepper == probably my favorite dish we ordered, lots of green sichuan peppercorn. 5/5 == Mapo Tofu == classic dish, goes well with rice 4/5 == Eight delicacies tofu == good dish, though everyone was expecting (hoping) it to be spicy (1 pepper level on the menu), but it wasn't. 3/5 == Pepper Stir-Fried Chicken == classic dish. Good amount of meat, though there's quite a bit more skin bits. Missing the mound of red chilis. == Pepper Stir-Fried Chicken (bone in) == the REAL classic dish. Similar to the boneless one, where are all the red chilis??? == Specialty stir-fried beef tender == good flavors 5/5 Other thoughts: + Menu has plenty of dishes with photos + Friendly staff + Rice was solid, just dry enough to mix well with the saucier dishes - A little skimpy on the amount of red chilis on the classic dishes like laziji, and what seems to be substitution with jalapeños. - The chicken and beef dishes were quite salty (even my dad commented on it, and he's a little heavy on the salt himself), you definitely need to eat with rice. Next time, we'll have to order dry pot (the dry pot holder looks very impressive on the other tables that ordered it), and to FINALLY order my all-time Sichuanese dish favorite: water cooked beef / Chongqing boiled beef. In Houston, we have been blessed with Mala Sichuan, which begs the question: do we need another Sichuan spot? Triple Pepper has answered with a numbing, sweating YES -- actually my nose is sweating just thinking about it...

Spectacular!!!! We go to Mala Sichuan in the same plaza for sichuanese cravings but decided to try triple pepper out and what a beautiful addition to our rotation of Chinese restaurants! This fish dish was to die for. Dream about it often. Spice is a little high so beware! Cabbage dish was simple but also so delicious. Little ingredients make the cabbage's natural flavours really shine, and this style of chinese cooking in vegetarian dishes is so comforting. Chicken dish was good but not as good as the one at mala but still very delicious.

Great new Szechuan place. Came here on a Wednesday around 5:30pm. There were several tables of customers. By the time we left the place filled up. Beautiful lux interior. Clean restrooms. Plenty of seating. Service was quick; they were good at refilling water, taking order, food came out at good pace. They have all the Szechuan usuals. Very authentic flavors. My favorite was the fish fillet with pickled vegetables. Very good portions as well. Definitely will be coming back.

Pork hock, dan dan noodles
Neha S.

The pricing was decent here - we did family style and ordered one order of spicy wontons, pork hock, and dan dan noodles, and it was about $16 each after tax and tip. The service was good and speedy, and the food came out nice and hot. No complaints there. The ambiance was cool. I liked how open and green everything was. It felt very earthy. My main issue was that the food itself wasn't super flavorful. The dumpling meat could've been way more tender. The actual chili oil or sauce they were in didn't have any flavor or spice either. The dan dan noodles were very light and did have a Szechuan aspect to them, but I've had better. The pork was definitely the star of the meal, and made up for the other dishes. The pork was cooked perfectly, and easily came off the bone with just a light pull with chopsticks. The sauce with the rice was also a good addition.

Authentic Sichuan Flavors That Hit the Spot! Triple Peppers in Bellaire Asia Town, is a hidden gem for anyone craving bold, spicy, and delicious Chinese cuisine. Every dish we ordered was packed with authentic Sichuan flavor and left us wanting more! We started with the Spicy Wontons--perfectly tender with just the right amount of chili oil and a mouthwatering savory kick. The Lotus Root was another standout--crispy, refreshing, and tossed in a flavorful sauce that balanced spice and tang ( it was on the spicier side!) For mains, the Scallion Beef was a crowd favorite--tender beef slices stir-fried to perfection with fragrant scallions. The Spicy Chicken brought the heat in the best way--crispy pieces of chicken wok-fried with dried chilies and numbing peppercorns for that signature mala sensation. Service was fast and friendly. Triple Peppers is a must-try if you're in the Bellaire area and love bold Chinese flavors done right!

Calvin D.

Very affordable authentic Asian food! Price is very cheap for the portion that's served. Restaurant is pretty clean and service was quick. Got all my dishes in under 10 minutes! Love the chili oil wontons! Everything has some spice to it so if you're not a fan of heat, I suggest telling them little to no spicy!! Every dish I ordered had chili oil/peppers, great restaurant for family style meals!

let me just commend this restaurant for their interior alone. the ambience in here is amazing! the staff were welcoming and attentive as well. we had a private room for a big party to celebrate a birthday and ordered over a dozen items, all of them deliciously spicy and authentically sichuan. the dry pot cauliflower was my favorite; just look at how stunning the presentation is! the black pepper beef, boiled fish fillet, and taro chicken were great too. the portion sizes are average and the dishes were a bit greasy and salty, but overall a good experience

The NEW REAL AUTHENTIC GEM that we found tonight. Amazed by the experience tonight at TRIPLE PEPPER. If you love spicy food, you should not miss Triple Pepper. It is very joyful to us being able to find Triple Pepper. We drove by Triple Pepper the other night, my BF loves spicy foods. So this is a must-try in our thoughts. And we're here tonight Ambiance: Triple Pepper is located as quiet, well-reserved on this busy area of China town. Painted in black but everything in side is clean, neat, cozy, modern design. The light of the restaurant is right, beautiful. To me, the ambiance is peaceful. Service: Super attentive, warm welcome and very friendly. We come in and out with the staff's happy smiles. Thank you so much! Food: OMG! They are GREAT. I really want to run to the kitchen and thank you the Chef for bringing these tasteful authentic dishes to the table. Beautifully presented to the table. Drunken Chicken: ... chicken immersed in a very special sauce that makes us linger on even though we finish the dish..... thinking what ingredients in there..... Wood Eat Appetizer: to me, it helps balance and connect the whole flavors of our orders together, cleaning our palate and cool some heat down. Tastes good. ( We do think the appetizers are worth more than their prices. ) Lao Gan Ma Beef: my BF doesn't really like the taste... I do. Fish Fillet in Rattan Pepper: This dish is GREAT. Warning: the soup itself is super spicy. Yet overall, this dish makes me fall in love with. Fresh, soft fish, in a unique soup base. Last , but not least: the rice. . Soft, Moist, nice fragrant, presented in a nice, lovely bucket. We will definitely come back for more experiences with Triple Pepper. Thank you so much again for putting effort into your restaurant. We appreciate wholeheartedly. Wish Triple Pepper all the bests,

On my most recent visit we ordered mapo tofu with pork intestines off the specials menu - a hybrid of two of my favorite Sichuan-style dishes. The blend of bouncy, savory morsels amidst tender, saucy tofu was at once revolutionary and so obvious; why hadn't I yet seen this at any other restaurant? And sure, innards may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's important for you to know that none of my past orders from the 50+ item menu have ever failed me, whether enjoyed in the restaurant or at home. Maybe you'd prefer the aromatic, classic, perfectly balanced three-cup chicken? Or the sweet-skinned duck, glazed so delicately that specks of sugar crystal threaten to jump off onto the plate as you pick up a juicy slice with your chopsticks? And if you're vegetarian, might you consider the punchy garlic eggplant or the wok-kissed string beans? I could go on. Do yourself a favor and come see for yourself, though I'd recommend parallel parking on the neighborhood streets behind the restaurant rather than the rocky parking lot, to save you some trouble. Bring friends and chow down family style - you'll need help covering as much of the menu as you can, but you'll definitely have to come back to try everything.

My friend Aurora wanted to meet Donna early dinner and gossip session and she really liked this place. (We tried having a team lunch at the Rice Village location during the cold front last Oct but they had no heat so we opted for a warmer place but she grabbed a to go on the way home) Here we are for a late lunch 3:45 pm on a Friday. Parking was none had to drive around the block and saw some movement and bam, someone was leaving. We ordered at the bar, staff was super nice and opted to sit outside. Did not realize they deliver to the table. Order: Mongolian beef combo with fried rice and egg roll $14.99 The food comes in takeaway style containers. Win. Mongolian beef (2.5/5) - slightly over sauced for me; beef was pretty tender and there were carrots and edamame which is not the standard so maybe that's what makes it fusion? Fried rice (3/5) - standard style fried with small pieces of bean sprouts which I love so that was a nice surprise Egg roll (3/5) - I assume it was chicken because I didn't realize there was a choice) - it was crunchy and soft on the inside which I like, and pairs well with sriracha (did not eat till I got home) They seem to do a whole lot of take away. The staff were nice and hard working. I was excited when they first opened bc they had chow fun on the menu and being HK Cantonese, I love that dish but when I ordered it the 1st and 2nd time eight years ago instead of bean sprouts they had cabbage and that alters rhe flavor tremendously. I see why it's popular among the people but just don't think it is for my taste.

She immediately asked what we wanted in a rude tone, which set an uncomfortable atmosphere from the start. There was a sign on the table advertising a "free appetizer" if you take a photo and tag the restaurant on social media. I followed the instructions exactly as stated, but when I mentioned it, the server initially refused to honor the promotion. After I pointed out the sign, she appeared upset and walked away. I saw she went to speak to another employee and cracked a smiled and looked over. She later returned and offered a small discount instead. The issue wasn't about the money or the discount, it was the principle. The promotion was clearly advertised, and I simply followed the restaurant's own policy. It was disappointing to feel like the restaurant was reluctant to honor something they were actively promoting. I hope management addresses this because customer service and consistency with advertised promotions make a big difference in the overall dining experience.
