So I am happy to announce my new go-to dumpling place! I was able to try the steamed veggie dumplings, the pan fried pork dumplings, and steamed beef dumplings. All delicious, but my favorite was the veggie dumplings. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it came with noodles, egg, and spinach. Prices are affordable and you get eight huge dumplings with each order. The soup was also delicious! Service was fast, and ambience is more kind of like hole-in-the-wall vibe. But I found that those are usually the best dumpling places! There was enough seating though. I will definitely be back.

Golden Dumpling House has been our go to quick and easy night out option when we are craving dumplings. This Houston Chinatown staple serves delicious dumplings at the best price in town. I would give this place 4.5 stars just to be clear. You can't beat these prices anywhere. Parking: the plaza where Golden Dumpling is located has a large parking lot that has free parking. I've never had issues finding parking here. You may have to walk a little bit you'll eventually find a spot as this area has people constantly coming and going. Ambiance: this is a simple restaurant where you can see the dumplings being formed and cooked in the back. They were playing some pop music while we were there which I wasn't expecting. There are plenty of tables inside that you can sit down at. There were a lot of to go orders which seems like the more common method of getting food from Golden Dumpling. Service: this is a self serve place where you order at the counter and get your plates and utensils at a station. They have vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil too at that station. There is a water machine and ice machine so you don't have to buy bottled water. They sell drinks by the can for a reasonable price. Food: a little tip on the food to start. If you are paying with credit card, they charge an extra 3% in credit card fees so being cash if you can to save a little money. We ordered food for 6 people and we ordered way too much but the prices were so good and the food matched the good prices. Steamed dumplings: we got two plates of steamed dumplings, one chicken with veggie and one shrimp pork with veggie. These were delicious but the wrapper was a little thick so we needed the sauces to help down the thick wrapper. These chicken was an our favorite steamed dumpling. Each order of steamed dumplings comes with 10 dumplings. Pan fried dumplings: we got two orders of pan fried dumplings which also come in orders of 10. We got the pork with veggie and the beef with veggie. These were fried so well and the fried texture is a good change from the steamed texture. Our favored pan fried dumpling was the beef with veggie. Scallion pancake: we started with the scallion pancake which was good but not the best I've had. It was a little oily so I would skip this next time I came here. Soup dumplings: we got two orders of soup dumplings which came with 10 pieces each. These were just ok. Not the best soup dumplings we've had. They didn't have much soup in them but maybe that's because we let them sit for too long. I would skip this if you are picking items to try with limited stomach space. Wonton soup: definitely get this if you like wonton soup. This was delicious and full of flavor. I added chili oil to mine which took it to another level. Beef soup with dumpling: this was another one of our favorites. It was rich with flavor and the dumpling paired nicely with the beef broth. Golden Dumpling House should be on everyone's list when craving dumplings. The prices are unbeatable. $9 for 10 dumplings in this economy is a steal and they taste great. We will be coming back here for years to come!

In today's inflated economy where an entree in a restaurant could easily run $15+, we are really glad to come across this place where you can have a good meal for under $10! This is a place where you pay up front and take a number. Hot tea, water, condiments and utensils are self-service. The restaurant is fairly spacious inside, and there's plenty of rooms between tables. We ordered two types of noodles along with pan-fried dumplings. All the portions are quite large, tasty and good value for the money. We would rate the noodles about 4/5, with the dumplings 5/5. They sell frozen versions of their dumplings as well. These are even better value!

Good price and delicious dumplings ! I was in the area and needed a quick bite, and this spot did not disappoint! Parking: Since it's in an Hmart shopping center, there's a lot of parking but also a lot of traffic. I was lucky to get a spot near the front Service: The staff barely acknowledges you which isn't too big of a deal since you order at the counter and use a self- service area for drinks, sauce, to go boxes, etc. There is a smart ordering system for to-go orders. I'm assuming a lot of people order to-go because they flowed in/out a lot Good: I had 1 order for the steamed pork & veggie dumplings. Some other tables received their food first despite being ordering before them - seems like fried dumplings come out quicker than steamed ? They have options besides dumplings but I wasn't here for that . Despite taking a bit long, the dumplings were steaming hot, huge, and delicious ! Seating: There are 2, 4, and 6 top tables. The space is very simple Other things to note: For some reason I had absolutely no cell phone service in the restaurant

This is the place to go if you are a fan of chewy dumplings! Personally I like thin dumpling skin especially for the pan fried ones, so I can taste the juicy meat and crispy crunch. But Golden Dumplings is not bad because they fill the dumplings with a chunk of meat, they don't make you feel like you are only chewing on the doughy wrap. Both pan fried (beef) and steamed (pork shrimp and veg) are very juicy, almost like soup dumplings. They put like an actual small whole shrimp in there! My ultimate favorite here is the scallion pancakes, holy it's super crispy, and dipping it in the chili oil made it more fun to eat. Food is 9/10, they are very filling. Service was fast but workers aren't too friendly. Lady took our order looked very serious about business. We ordered a bean curd cold dish but we didn't know we self serve from the fridge next to the restroom, which I think she should inform customers when they pay at counter. Place is tight, like a normal family diner in China, wasn't too crowded on a Sunday night. They have frozen dumplings that you can to go for home too.

GIANT dumplings and very fair prices, 2 major considerations for me when seeking out dumplings. The last being flavor and texture which I think these were juuust shy of meeting for me. This is a casual spot in a pretty large strip mall with Hmart. Its a little tucked away in the corner so can be easily overlooked. You order at the counter, take a number and sit down. We ordered the pork soup dumplings, panfried pork and vegetable dumplings, and steamed pork and shrimp dumplings. The soup dumplings had a nice flavored filling but there sadly wasn't any soup and the skin was a bit thick for a soup dumpling. I think the panfried dumplings were my favorite, nice crisp bottoms and the filling was pork and veggies, including a bit of garlic chives, which is what I grew up on as a filling. I wish there were a bit more garlic chives but that's personal preference. The steamed dumplings were good as well, the pork and shrimp filling didn't stand out to me though. You could see shrimp chunks but flavorwise felt one note to me. Despite some personal flavor downfalls, they have very solid, large dumplings for cheap. I think anyone looking for dumplings would find these more than acceptable. They also have frozen dumplings you can buy and cook up at home, which i def took advantage of.

Solid dumplings & beef noodle soup! Affordable, no frills establishment. Dumplings are chewy and delicious. The beef noodle soup broth was savory and comforting. This place hit the spot and satisfied our dumpling cravings! Would recommend!

Found this unassuming little place while in Chinatown and have already been back twice within one week. The dumplings are outstanding!! We tried the pork, chicken, and beef and loved all three. The scallion pancake was also delicious, although a little small to split. Great prices too. Can't wait to come back!

Great place for a casual dinner, order to go, and they even sell frozen dumplings for you to have anytime at home! The food was amazing! The prices super affordable, the portions large, and the staff great. I would recommend getting the soup dumplings, the pan fried pork dumplings, and the scallion pancakes.

The beef noodle soup here is a huge sleeper pick! The broth is very light / plain, yet the beef chunks are perfectly seasoned & tenderized. Cheap, too!

My friends and I got the chicken pan fried dumplings and the zhajiang noodles. We liked the dumpling wrappers and the noodles itself better than the meat contents that supposed to make the dishes taste flavorful. The dumpling stayed crispy even after 30 mins of chatting with my friends. The chicken dumpling had corn and cubed radish in it, which added a sweet flavor to the dumplings. The zhajiang noodles had a hint of black bean flavor but it was very light flavor. Will I be back? Of course! You can't beat the prices here. Service is standard, they bring the food to you after you order. This is like a quick cheap filling lunch spot with friends or coworkers. I would not bring a first or tenth date here.

Amazing dumplings at a great price! Tried this place a while back during covid times when no dine-in was available so can't comment on the vibe inside. We ordered the soup dumplings and chicken/chive dumplings. It came with soy sauce and spicy chili oil. Both dumplings were delicious! Great ratio of filling and wrap. Filling was plump and juicy for both, and the soup was steaming hot. Chili oil packed a spicy kick! Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for great dumplings. Good for sharing too. Service was great, dumplings can take some time but they do come out fresh!

I included the receipt for prices and what I ordered. My dad is never one to say something is good so you know when he was smiling and saying it was yummy, this place is legit. They filled these dumplings so much and it was flavorful. I appreciate that they had barley tea which refreshed me as well. I will say some of the soup dumplings barely had soup. The restaurant was nice and clean. I will be back when I have a dumpling craving which is pretty often.

Ordered to-go. Dumplings were hot and crispy! I thought they were kind of bland even after using the soy sauce mixture it came with.

On my most recent visit we ordered mapo tofu with pork intestines off the specials menu - a hybrid of two of my favorite Sichuan-style dishes. The blend of bouncy, savory morsels amidst tender, saucy tofu was at once revolutionary and so obvious; why hadn't I yet seen this at any other restaurant? And sure, innards may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's important for you to know that none of my past orders from the 50+ item menu have ever failed me, whether enjoyed in the restaurant or at home. Maybe you'd prefer the aromatic, classic, perfectly balanced three-cup chicken? Or the sweet-skinned duck, glazed so delicately that specks of sugar crystal threaten to jump off onto the plate as you pick up a juicy slice with your chopsticks? And if you're vegetarian, might you consider the punchy garlic eggplant or the wok-kissed string beans? I could go on. Do yourself a favor and come see for yourself, though I'd recommend parallel parking on the neighborhood streets behind the restaurant rather than the rocky parking lot, to save you some trouble. Bring friends and chow down family style - you'll need help covering as much of the menu as you can, but you'll definitely have to come back to try everything.

I followed the instructions exactly as stated, but when I mentioned it, the server initially refused to honor the promotion. After I pointed out the sign, she appeared upset and walked away.
