Highly recommend this place for the authentic Indian taste. Some recommendations: Pav Bhaji Indo- Chinese Pulavs Punjabi - so far I've tried Paneer Angara, Paneer Toofani and Paneer Handi and they were all delicious. Perfect Indian taste buds spice level.

Ambience: Nothing out of the world. Ambience is what you would expect from a fast food chain but i feel they do need to upgrade their seating and the decor. It looks a little bit old Rating: 6/10 Food: I have been to Honest atleast 20 times and they have maintained their taste for sure. The reason i go to Honest is for their Bhakri Pizza and North Indian subjis since i feel theirs is the closest you can get from back home. The taste here is pretty much the same you get in Ahmedabad. Below is what we ordered and the ratings. Bhakri Pizza: 9/10- It was crispy with proper amount of sauce and cheese. Dahi Puri: 7/10- As expected with good amount of chutneys and dahi. The only comment i would give is the puris were a little uneven in size. Chinese Bhel: 9/10. Tangy, crunchy, saucy with good amount of manchurian and paneer. It leaves you wanting for more Paneer Handi: 10/10. My oh my!! If i close my eyes, it takes me back to my favorite north indian restaurans in Ahmedabad. You can see the difference if you are avid north indian cuisine lover between the subjis you get in other restaurants vs you get in Honest. Each of their gravies do taste different unlike others where it is the same watery gravy with only tomatoes. I am definitely going back to try all of their gravies. Service: 10/10. Quick and fast. No complaints here

Ugh I would skip this restaurant completely. I should of listened to the reviews but had other family that wanted to eat here. The food is okay, not great. Each item we ordered had an issue with. The worst was the paneer 65, it was so hard. Couldn't even chew it. The owner is very rude as well. I walked in at 9:05 pm, they close at 10pm. Immediately he kept saying our kitchen closed soon, you have to hurry to place an order. We placed our order and he said that's it, can't order after this. There was an entire 1 hour before they close. The customer service is horrible. The food looks good but it's false advertising. Middle of us all eating, they starting to clean up. The smell of all the floor cleaners was nasty. It smelled like fabuloso cleaning solution. It took over the atmosphere and made it unbearable. The only edible item was the fires, really can't mess that up. Samosa chatt was too dry. The manchurian with the noodle was hard and dry. Just over all disappointing.

My friends in NJ sang so many praises for this place, that we had to order when we visited. Note this review is for Sep 2021. We ordered pick up: Pav Bhaji - Not exactly authentic and famous Mumbai Pav bhaji, but still amazing. This was the closest and the best I have had in the US. Comes with 2 pav, we ordered extra. Dried Manchurian - Comes with 7 or 8 balls and has the right amount of spice. Again not the same, but great. I loved it. Fried Rice - Simple yet delicious. Not so spicy but flavorful. Bahubali Sandwich - I am generally not a fan of sandwiches, but this one blew my mind. Loved loved it (it had quite some Amul cheese on it). If you are craving for local Mumbai food, don't even think twice. You will love it. And every bite is going to remind you of the good times and great food you had in Mumbai.

We stopped by at this restaurant after buying grocery at Patel brother. Decent good, decent ambiance and good service. We went on a Friday evening, so we did not have to wait.

So living in the Bay Area we've heard a lot about this place. People drive all the way to LA to try this out on the way and since we were in Edison, we thought might as well. We went in with a mission to try out just the pav bhaji and we were in and out of that place in less that 15minutes. Though I must say, the pav bhaji was worth it! Perfectly balanced spices and not too buttery. Bombay style bhaji is usually more mashed and has a smoother consistency compared to the one in north india and is usually heavier on the tomato side. This one however, had the perfect taste. I would probably drive to LA to taste this if the one here is as good as the one in NJ

Have tried before in honest in Piscataway. I kind of liked that better in taste. Edison was good too, but not dishes. We ordered some veg Hakka noodles and sHezwan friend rice . Both were ok. We also had manchurian dry . Not sure - may be I ordered the wrong item for this place. Not sure what they specialize in .. Will try chaat items and Indian food next time . Disappointed with indo chinese . Lots of parking space available and good service overall..

Hands down the best pav bhaji and bombay sandwich around . I have been eating pav bhaji wrong all this while. They have good seating and ambience. The prices are decent and it gets pretty crowded on weekends . But I would suggest this place for pav bhaji if you really wana have good one around that area Pav bhaji -5/5 Chaats/ samosa chat - 2/5 ( its a different style of char which we dint expect . They dint have the chana in chaat they just mashed samosa with curd and some sev , curd and tamrind sauce which is not usually how samosa chat is made )

Craving pav Bhaji? This is your go to place. Hesitant to order anything else on the menu since they are known for their pav bhaji. If you do end up ordering pav Bhaji, get the Amul cheese Bhaji, it is delicious! I ended up trying the Hakka noodles as well but was very disappointed. The noodles were cold and dry. I would not order them again. I was also utterly disappointed with your service. I feel like I had to keep flagging down the waiter to be noticed. I understand they are busy and we did have to wait an hour to be seated but I did expect better service.

Crispy Baby Corn- great indochinese appetizer, the baby corn is lightly battered and fried then tossed in a sauce Soya Masala Curry- this was a flop. The tomato onion based curry lacked salt and spice and the actual soya pieces were too soft and mushy in texture. Wish these were a bit more dense as experienced in other restaurants. Roomali Roti- drown in ghee and it must have sat over a gas flame because it tasted of bad chemicals. Basically like eating the ghee-soaked cotton swabs from the candles at the local temple. The person who services us was very kind and helpful with the selections. I went here for lunch with some of our friends and family and after having had a heavy home breakfast and hence didn't have an appetite for the Thali meals. That's the same reason I didn't click a lot of pics like I would usually do. The vegetable biryani, SPDP chaat and puris with aloo subzi came in no time from the time we ordered. As much as the food was tasty I found them bit salty and the subzi little oily - this coming from a salt lover who tends to add salt to anything he eats, you can trust me. Overall a good restaurant serving quality food and with ample parking space (weekend parking story could be little different).

We also tried the tandoori chaap, which was flavorful, tender, and beautifully grilled with a smoky aroma. We had planned to try several items but ended up ordering only Sarson ka Saag - Makki ki Roti and Dahi Puri due to limited availability. The saag was flavorful, though the roti seemed to be a mix of besan and makki (cannot confirm this though). The Dahi Puri was okayish, but little bit too dry. Hence, won't recommend this dish. Many guests were turned away because of the inaccurate closing time listed online. I recommend calling ahead to confirm before visiting.

Saoji is a fiery, deeply spiced, mostly non-vegetarian cuisine said to have originated with the…read moreHalba Koshti weaver community of Madhya Pradesh. When the community migrated to Nagpur in 1877, their food followed -- spreading through the tradesfolk and mill workers who embraced its bold flavors. Today, Saoji is considered the signature cuisine of Nagpur: intensely spiced, unapologetically hot, and built around powerful, roasted masalas. Tonight we ate at Nagpuri Saoji in Voorhees (they also have a location in Iselin), and these two spots are reportedly the only places in the U.S. where you can experience this cuisine in its full, blazing glory. To Start We began with sabudana vada -- the classic Maharashtrian fritter made from tapioca pearls, mashed potatoes, peanuts, and spices. Served piping hot and impossibly crisp outside with a tender interior, they came with two chutneys and were absolutely sublime. Alongside that was goat sukka, a dry-style mutton preparation associated with the Mangalore and Udupi regions, with spice influences tracing back to Goa and even Arab and Turkish traders. Coriander, fennel, cumin, black peppercorns, and fenugreek give it depth and warmth. It was bold, savory, and incredibly flavorful. The Curries I ordered chicken kala masala curry, and it was deeply earthy, nutty, and robustly savory. "Kala" means "black" in Marathi -- referring both to the color and to the roasted spice blend itself. Cumin, coriander, cloves, cinnamon, stone flower, coconut, sesame seeds, and chillies are roasted and ground into a dark, complex masala that lingers beautifully on the palate. We also ordered Goat Handi, with tender meat in a velvety, aromatic gravy, and a Malwani goat curry, made with Malvani masala from the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra -- a spice blend that balances heat with coastal warmth and depth. Rice, plain naan, and indulgent Amul cheese naan rounded out the meal. Dessert We finished with Sitafal Rasmalai (custard apple-infused rasmalai) and Jamun Rabdi -- both creamy, fragrant, and perfect against the lingering spice. A Few Notes Like much traditional Asian cooking, the meat dishes are cooked on the bone -- so eat mindfully. And if you request "hot," they mean hot. This is not toned-down spice; this is the real deal. I was thrilled to try dishes from India that I've never made before. Saoji cuisine is bold, unapologetic, and absolutely delicious -- and I'll definitely be adding some of these flavors to my home repertoire. If you have the opportunity to try this cuisine -- do it.

I know it's popular for the saoji chicken but being a vegetarian I had to stick to their veggie options. I visited this place for dinner and they were out of a lot of things. The tarri tasted weird so it ruined the entire dish. Same tarri was present in the misaal too, so this dish was ruined too. Sol kadhi was average. The service was fast and the ambience is okay-ish. Honestly, would not recommend this place for their vegetarian options!
