The best Hakka noodles! We loved going here as kids and haven't been in many years, but this past week we finally went back. The interior has been completely redone! What was once a food court vibe has been transformed into an almost upscale feeling. They have also expanded the seating area, so everyone isn't packed in that little room anymore. While the interior has changed, the food remains the same high quality it's always been. My absolute favorite is the Hakka noodles. I truly have never found any restaurant that compares. Our other favorites are the chili paneer, veg Manchurian and gobi Manchurian. All 3 are delicious, and we like to get them with gravy so it isn't super dry. None are too spicy, but they provide small sauces to add spice if you want that. We ordered on the phone and our food was ready on time when we got there (on a busy Friday night). Moghul Express serves really solid Indian food overall. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and chicken biryani, and both hit the mark in terms of flavor and portion. The yogurt sauce was a bit of a miss for me, it felt too watered down and would be much better with a thicker consistency. The hot sauce was decent, but not nearly as spicy as I'd expect from an Indian spot. Service, unfortunately, was the weakest part of the experience. I was dining with one other person and there was only one other table of three, yet things moved pretty slowly. There were a few employees around, but the service just wasn't very attentive, and communication was a bit tough at times. They also offer Chinese dishes, which is interesting and something I'd consider trying next time. Overall, the food is definitely worth it, but the service could use some improvement. read more

Tried Moghul Express recently and had a great experience overall. We ordered sweet corn and Manchow soups. I loved the sweet corn soup though Manchow was little spicy as per my taste buds. We also ordered Fried rice and they were really good. For deserts we ordered Rasmalai which was soft and not overly sweet. And fresh lime soda was refreshing and great way to end the meal. We had steamed chicken dumplings, express mix noodles, malai kofta and garlic naan. dumplings were served with peanut sauce which is bad combo it needs hot sauce/dumpling sauce, dumpling itself was good but lack of right sauce made it mediocre, Malai kofta and naan were good, Could be better part, we decided to dine in today with family, and it was a mistake, either this place does not have heating or their windows are leaky, every single person dining at restaurant was miserable and had their winter coats on and still not comfortable! Dinning must be comfortable, if not, just limit to takeouts on bad weathers until you've control of situation. Service was equally bad, we had to ask for water, constantly remind of order, we literally had piece meal here that further ruined our experience, our server was on high horse for some reason, absolutely cold, and was not et all interested in his work. One of my favorite restaurants! I've been going there as long as I can remember and the info Chinese is SO good. My favorite dishes are the Aloo papri Chaat, Chicken Hakka Noodles, Thai green Curry with veggies and tofu, coriander garlic shrimp. The service is always great here. The staff is very attentive both for seating and takeout. It can get a bit crowded there, so at times it's a bit loud inside the restaurant. The quality of the food has deteriorated significantly, making it the worst I have ever encountered. We ordered catering for a party, and the food was of poor quality. I just had a very nice quick meal at Moghul Express. I got the Samosa Channa Chaat to start and it was a very good portion. It could easily be a light lunch on its own or an app shared between two or three people with a light appetite. I also got the Mysore dosa which is served with sambar, and a coconut and tomato chutney. I personally love the coconut and the server noticed and kindly gave me an extra serving of it. This place is a consistent hit everytime I go! I've ordered a variety of things each time I've gone: Chaat, Palak Paneer, Lamb Biryani, Chicken Tikka Pizza -- it has all been good! Service is quick and food comes out hot. (I personally found that when I went for lunch, the palak paneer felt a little fresher probably because they just started and the spinach wasn't super duper cooked down - still delicious either way!) I visited Moghul Express half an hour after it opened on a Sunday afternoon. We were allowed to sit anywhere we wanted and the staff was extremely helpful with the menu. When he saw me looking things up, he came over to explain the menu items and whether or not they were spicy. We ordered the veg samosas, masala dosa, and tandoori paneer makhani pizza. The samosas came out first and they were crispy with a filling that had a nice kick to it. Everything about the masala dosa was really good, from the dosa itself, the insides, and the curry. I also really liked the pizza which looked amazing when it first arrived. The crust was nice and thick and the pizza itself had slices of paneer along with onions and bell pepper. Instead of tomato sauce there was makhani curry (i think) which was a nice replacement. The pizza was relatively large, so i took away the other half to go. We got two mango lassis to go which were really good in the beginning and became quite sweet near the end. I noticed a lot of takeout orders while I was there so it seems to be popular for that. My go to Indian Restaurant on Oak Tree Road. Has a bit of everything and the food is consistent. Butter chicken, chicken Tikka masala, and Dosa here is very good. They also serve pretty good pizza with a Indian twist !! They do charge extra 3% if you use a Credit card so bring cash to save a little bit of money. Also they have plenty of parking in the front and back of restaurant too. Seating is ample too , you can bring a group here easily and be comfortable. We were in Woodbridge to meet our cousin and if you are here, of course we will feast ourselves in one of the restaurants from the Mehtani group. Tasty fast casual Indian restaurant, which is also connected with a bakery and Papa Pancho's pizzeria. I haven't been by here in a long time, and was pleasantly surprised to see such nice, modern updates to their indoor space. I stopped by for a weekend lunch and it was quite busy! We aren't as familiar with all the menu items, but the servers were friendly and helped answer any questions we had. We actually ordered off the app via the QR code at our table, and everything arrived quickly. Each dish was flavorful, and spice levels can be adjusted to your liking - I especially loved the samosa channa chaat and huge plain dosa, but I'd happily order everything again. Servings were generous and we brought leftover tandoori paneer makhani pizza home, which was still good the day after when we heated it back up. The service is fast, efficient, and friendly. We were served within minutes of ordering, so if you're in a hurry, this seems like a great spot to grab a meal. We shared a gobi (cauliflower) manchurian from the appetizer menu. It was the perfect amount of spicy, savory and stickiness, served sizzling hot and fresh. The gobi was soft and well seasoned on the inside, but I wish it was crispier on the outside. Of note, the serving size ran smaller than expected relative to the price ($12). In all, Mogul Express provides solid grub at decent enough prices, and I would definitely come back to try other dishes from a very extensive menu that caters to non-veg and vegetarian eaters alike. read more

I'm not Indian and rarely eat Indian food, but being from Louisiana, I love my meals to be spicy hot and for it to bite back. Out with two Indian friends we all went here for the first time. The Chilli Paneer Dry was outstanding! Can't say enough about the presentation, ingredients and spiciness. We also shared the Podi Idil, Schezwan Fried Rice Vegetarian, Paneer Makhani, Baingan Bharta, Naan, plain rice and washed it all down with Marsala sodas, plus Madras coffee at the end. We've been to Moghul today (had takeout food from here multiple times). We ordered samosa chana chat (good), drums of heaven (must try), chicken fried rice (must try), garlic sauce chicken (average). Lime soda and masala sad were good. The deserts from the bake shop are good too. My favorite is rasmalai tres leches. The service is super quick because they have a wait time about 20-30 mins for any guest. They can start taking reservations to avoid customer wait time. I would appreciate it if the servers don't make us feel rushed to finish food and leave. These are the two things that I wasn't quite pleased with. I used to go to Moghul express in Iselin and found it to be great. Recently they took over a local restaurant on Stelton Road and my daughter took us there for father's day. I had the Tandoori Lamb and my wife had a chicken curry. Both were amazing. Service was attentive, quick and helpful. Bathroom was clean. There used to be a place across the street (a bit) called Sunshine. It was wonderful but when the owner passed away, it took a quality dive and I believe went out of business. Have great Indian food in Piscataway is great, while I can't afford to go crazy at Delhi Express in Edison every week. This is a worthy alternative. I only wish they had the indo/Chinese dumplings that they serve at the oak tree road location. Will definitely be adding this place to our short list of Indian favorites! read more

Find a better way to make money and not making a fool of your customers. We are used to eating out and 99.99 % of the restaurants charge a convenience fee for a party of 6 or more. Who charges a fee for a party of 4 because in Moghul Express a party of 3 is normal and anything above is a large party. Which average family has 3 people. There's a limit to greed! read more
